Hi girls,

We are considering moving to yeppoon but wondered what the ivf clinics are like up there. Any recommendations etc.

I have a colleague who has a beautiful 2 yo boy thanks to Monash IVF at Hillcrest Hospital. She has nothing but good things to say.
Lucky you moving to yeppoon! We drive down there from rocky all the time to go to the beaches and parks. It's so beautiful :)

Hey Jess.
I haven't asked her too much about it as it's a touchy subject. It took a couple of years for a healthy pregnancy and then when she was about 6 months along her hubby left her for a much younger woman :/ I do know that she says the clinic was great though!

That's terrible to hear! Thanks for getting back to me.

I emailed Monash and it seems like its just dr Leyden who does rocky its self. Costs are same as gold coast..

Hey Jess,
I have just completed a cycle with Monash in Rockhampton and they are really nice. I have now done 3 cycles with them, my first ones were in 2007 & 2008 with a previous partner and just had an unsuccessful cycle in November. I was seeing Dr Prasad, but I just received a letter from him last Friday saying he was closing his practice. So I now have to see Dr Leyden, I have seen him in the past for Endometriosis and he seems nice but hard to get in to. I also find his receptionist to be rude and not very helpful, which is why I chose to see Dr Prasad. But that could be my personal opinion and I guess I have no choice as he is the only one. I am waiting for an appointment in January to discuss my options with him as I haven't done IVF with him. Good luck with the move and what brings you to Yeppoon?

Hi Masolink,

Its such a shame that there is one doc in Rocky! Coming from the GC just blows me away as there is such a choice down here!

I rec an email from the receptionist saying there was a wait til mid feb!! thats a long time!!! Im thinking now we will stay down here til we are preg!

just thinking a sea change! trying so hard to get my DH into the mines but is proving harder than we thought! We have friends in Yeppoon so it wont be a hard move!
