My son is 7 months old, and he's been severely constipated... but we're fixing that up at the moment. We're taken him off rice cereal for breakfast as we're not sure if that has added to his constipation or not!

So, this is what he eats throughout the day...
Breafast: Bottle + 2 ice cubes of pear
11am: Bottle, followed by lunch (2 ice cubes of vegetables)
3pm: Bottle
5pm: Dinner (3 vegetables + 1 ice cube of fruit)
6:30pm: Bottle

We will be starting him on lentils tomorrow night for dinner, but he could eat more than what I am giving him. Should I be giving him more?

Should I start him on bread now too, to bulk out his meals?

Thanks in advance.

The general rule is keep feeding until he turns his head away or spits it out. I would always offer 2 courses lunch and dinner.

You could try one of the other rice cerel brands if you havent and then offer fruit after for breaky.

Also at this age would be introducing protein like chicken and beef. You can cook it up with the vegies.

My little man is seven months and eats HEAPS!!! same sort of routine but breast feeding.
He has 'rafertys garden banana porridge' for breakfast with some fruit purée mixed in.
about five heaped dessert spoons worth is his average meal size!

I tend to keep going until DS turns his head away or keeps his mouth closed although when it comes to dinner he will give me the I'm full cue until I bring out desert lol
