My son is now 4 months old slowly over the last 2 weeks he has been sleeping less and less and he is getting harder to put to sleep last night he got to sleep at midnight then woke at 3.30 and didn't go back to sleep till 7.55am and only for 20 mins. He also won't sleep during the day he does not appear to be teething I don't know what to do I have tried everything rocking him, walking him around sitting with him, walking him in the pram putting the radio on a untuned channel. Iv'e tried a deep warm bath iv'e wrapped him and unwrapped him I live in Darwin in the heat so iv'e tried with the air-con on and no air-con nothing is working any more suggestions pls he screams when put in his cot or bass. He use to go to sleep on his own around 8pm and wake sometime after 3am for a feed and go straight back to sleep till 9am so i'm not use to this no sleep PLS HELP!!!

Firstly, stop stressing about it - because he's picking up on your emotions.
If I was you, just feed him more often, feed him to sleep, let him sleep on you during the day, cuddle him to sleep in your bed at night, just cuddle him all the time - try a Hug-A-Bub, they are brilliant for getting babies to sleep.

Thanks for your suggestions one problem is he won't sleep after a feed he feeds every three hours and has no signs of being tired I do cuddle him but he only likes to be standing up as soon as I try to sit or lye down he screams I let him go on for a bit trying to get him cosy but he don't stop and I have to stand up again i'm worried because I have slipped disc's in my back and i'm in real bad pain. I can't walk him around for more than 20 mins. I have also noticed this has become worse since he had the rotavirus vax 2 weeks ago anyone know anything about this vax and could it be related I understand babies go through bad stages.

i wouldnt know myself coz my daughters slept so well and my 2nd from 2days old slept throu the night but now my younest is 16 months and i play the music with no word just earth sounds and she falls to sleep like that mayb try something like that do you know if his teething? you might wanna put a bit of bonjelo on his gums b4 going to sleep.
Sha, You poor thing. Like The Queen said - just try to stay calm and relax as bub can feel your tension.
Are you able to wrap him and lay him down somewhere safe at the same time each day for 'quiet time' or does he just scream?
Sometimes if DS is unsettled I just sit him in his pram and his happy?
Sorry Im not much help but hang in there and I feel for you.
:hugs:

If this is all started since the vax, then it is a vax reaction - you need to report it as an adverse reaction and you need to take him back to the clinic where he had it done so they can give you advice.
Perhaps routine feeding is also playing a part in this - just try offering the boob every hour or so, and let him stay on until he takes himself off. Perhaps he just needs the comfort sucking.
But I'd be inclined to call this a vax reaction.

Thank you all I will call up the health line here in the NT about the vax. He likes nappy free time which keeps him silent for about 30 mins so that's something i'll have to give him more off during the day.

I don't think this is a vax reaction at all. My DD is 4 months old also and is doing exactly the same things as yours. Many other mums in my mums group are experiencing the same problems. DD used to sleep soundly from 6.00pm to 2.00am then to 6.00am. Now she's waking at night and needs to be re-settled. She is also pretty grumpy during the day and always seems tired but cries when I put her down. She used to be able to send herself off to sleep in a couple of minutes. By all means though, if you think it's vax related seek advice, but I'd just put it down to a growth phase.
