from what I've read and been told about PCOS is that there is always an elevated level of LH (luteinising hormone) which would give a constant positive reading on an OPK. So OPK's aren't reliable for women with PCOS
IS it true or not? does that mean with PCOS we might get a funny reading on HPT'S? aswell then?

I have also read that.. I think it can, but it may be different for everyone.
I think as a rule, People with that condition have a higher level of LH so they may get false positives. I figure that would happen for most of the cycle though, so perhaps lots of + is somethign to ask a doc about.
I dont think it would effect HPT though, cause that measures HGH rather than LH.
I am not a doctor, though!!!

Sometimes yes, it can possibly give a fals reading, but I have PCOS and when I used OPKs for a few months and they only gave me a positive OPK when I was Oing.
So for some it does work, for others no. The only way you'll know is to try some. You can buy a whole heap of cheapy ones off ebay and they work fine. This way you can use one everyday leading up to when you feel you may be coming up to O.
Having pcos will not affect a HPT reading as it measures HCG not LH.
good luck!
