I was looking after a 6 yr old little girl I look after often and she said to me "Laura can you get married soon so I can be your flower girl, if you dont get married soon I'll be too old!" then that got me thinking. If i got married in the next 5 yrs I'd have so much trouble choosing a flower girl because I look after so many little girls that I adore and considering I dont have any family that age i'd have to choose one!! So anyway, who was your flower girl!

No flower girl here either,
in fact we didn't have any attendants!

My SIL was a witness and one of Angus' bros while his other bro had the ring. One of my bros read a poem, we asked the other one to help him but he declined, after he wished he had of so every sibling was involved, our original plan.
We were married on the beach in a very casual civil ceremony.

I went to a wedding on the weekend and they had a flower girl- bride's niece and so adorable!- and that was the first one I'd seen in years.

I was a bridesmaide twice before being married(one a 2nd cousin from mum's side, the other a 2nd cousin from dad's side).
By time time I was getting ready for my wedding, both of those marriages had produced a child each that were at the perfect age to be in my bridal party.
So I had a page boy and a flowergirl from the 2 marriages i was a bridesmaide to.

Now DD is getting ready to be a flowergirl end of November to my cousin, who was one of my bridesmaides.
She is VERY excited to say the least! :D

Our little cavalier spaniel "hollie" was our flower girl. She walked down with her lead all wrapped with silver ribbon and she had bows in her ears and a frilly skirt type thing around her waist. She was beautiful!!! She walked down with our 4yr old nephew at the time. He did a great job too even though Hollie wanted to sniff everywhere. She even got to ride in the limousine with us.. The limo guy thought it was the greatest thing he had seen and wanted a pic so he could use it for his business..

I would attach pic but I don't know how to??

Im having 5 flower girls but they are all older so I call them junior bridesmaids. They are my cousins who's mums I was a flowergirl for (2 of my aunties)

They are 13, 10, 9, 7, 5 but the 3 older ones are very small girls for their ages.

You don't have to have a flower girl!! If you don't know anyone young enough, have a junior bridesmaid instead. I had 4 bridesmaids and 1 junior bridesmaid - my cousin who was 11. She was too young to wear the same kind of dress so we had one made in the same colour to suit her more.

Our flower girl was about 10 and a real brat. We weren't going to have one at all but when dad's sister in law heard about that she dressed her daughter in a white dress and slipped her into the bridal party when we arrived at the church. Not impressed. The kid had 5 day old rose kiddy tats down one arm, looked awful.

My DD was! She was 3 1/2 at the time, and to include her in the ceremony we gave her a ring too! I think everyone started crying it was soo sweet... And she was stoked, ran around after the ceremony showing everyone.

I was looking after a 6 yr old little girl I look after often and she said to me "Laura can you get married soon so I can be your flower girl, if you dont get married soon I'll be too old!"

 Your story sounds very like mine - I ended up with 3 flower girls!!!

2 of them were cousins of mine aged 6 and 2, the other was a little girl I used to look after who was almost 7. She had been hinting about wanting to be a flower girl since before I was engaged, but I hadn't realised just how serious she was. I'd already asked my cousins, and I was just going to keep it at that as we were having a simple wedding.

Well, a few months before the wedding it was Christmas and this little girl came to a christmas party I was at, wearing a white satin dress with embriodered roses etc. I commented on her lovely "party dress" to which she replied "Oh, it's not a party dress - it's a wedding dress, you know, like the girl wears who carries the flowers... in case I ever get to be one..." (looking with pleading eyes and batting her eyelashes) :p

Well, what could I do. I went out and bought another flower girl dress and ended up with 3 flower girls

- but when I got a request from yet another cousin to be a flower girl too I had to say no (she was a bit older and I couldn't have got a matching dress to fit her anyway). I mean I only had 1 bridesmaid so even 3 flower girls was a bit excessive - but they were very cute!

I had two flowergirls. They were 9, nearly 10 years old. Don't worry Zebra, it's a great age for flowergirls and they are still girls rather than women so don't feel like you have to make her a junior bridesmaid. My flowergirls looked very cute. One concern was that one was outgoing and the other one was quiet, but on the day they actually evened each other out and behaved beautifully. The good thing about older flowergirls is that they actually do what you tell them to, and they last through the photo sessions.

One flowergirl was my youngest cousin (I'm the eldest cousin on that side of the family) and the other flowergirl was the eldest of 4 children from a family I babysat a lot. I'd known that family for about 3 years at the time and although they moved 2 hours away last year we still keep in touch regularly 5 years later.
