Ovulation test question, I'm confused???

Hi ladies :wave: , quick question!!!!

I thought I had already ovulated however my ovulation tests havnt said so! I had the egg white mucus today more than yesterday and have had ovulation pains for the past 3 days. The test line was stronger yesterday than today though? Still only faint though and not as strong as the control line????

Any advice????? :confused: :confused: :confused:

Hi there - I have no idea WHAT your body is doing sorry (but who knows what ANYONES is doing? lol) but my only advice is this.

1. Never use first morning urine for an OPK
2. Always use the OPK at the same time of day (say when you get home from work)
3. Its okay to read your OPK after 5 minutes
4. Keep on testing! You can never do too many tests...
5. The test is only positive if the test line is as strong as, or stronger than the control line.
6. OPK's measure your LH levels which go up 1-2 days before you ovulate - so get bding ASAP when you see a line.

Also what brand are you using??
I know other bubhubbers have had good results with ovunow tests, but I could never get a pos result with that brand, but always get lots of + with fortel and other brands.
So if you are using ovunow then maybe thats the prob and you should try another brand. If not ignore my post!!!

Wannabemum - if the line is getting darker, then yes - you are probably going to ovulate soon. If the line is getting lighter, then you have probably already ovulated.

Hi wannabe,

I found OPK's really confusing too. but i think Ive got the hang of it!!

I test at 4.30pm, when i get home from work!
Ive never got a line before day 9
I tend to get a really *really* light gost line around day 9-10,
Next day both lines are same colour
Next day test line darker than control line!!
Next day Ghost line again
Next day No line!!!

DH and I BD like mad from ghost line to ghost line!
I hope its worked for us :D

I was using ovunow tests and found they never came up positive. A few nearly did but the line wasnt as dark as the control line. So im confused too cause i the eggwhite and pains in my ovaries but not a very dark line, then when that had gone the line had gone too. So if im not pg this month im gonna get fortel brand, sounds the way to go. :fingerscrossed: Goodluck with ttc. :)

Hey hunny! this is exactly what happens to me and I am using fortel! :confused: I have had bad o pain for the past 4 days, Wednesday got a faint line, Thursday got a fainter line (as o pain got worse), then yesterday avo got BAD o pain and egg white mucus! so I'm not going to worry about the opk anymore, cause I think I am better off going by my body signs! Pinklady maybe right, maybe I have already ovulated, so CONFUSING!

Grab your DP and start acting like rabbits. Any sign of ovulation, you should start to BD just incase. You don't want to miss the train! All the best:)

I have the exact same problem! I've been using Ovunow tests for the past 4 months & have never had a test line as dark or darker than the control line. Last month I decided that I would test 4 times a day from the time I got the first ghost line to see if a positive result would show at a different time of the day. It didn't make a difference I still didn't get a + result.:banghead:

I was feeling extremely frustrated on Wednesday when AF arrived so I went to the doctor & she told me that it was strange that I hadn't got a +ve in 4 months so she suggested using a different brand this month & charting my body temp aswell. She suggested Clear Blue or Fortel opk's.

Some people opn here swear by the ovunow brand, but I don't!! They dont work for me.....
I'm on CD10 and I'm testing with ovunow and fortel this month, to see if there is any difference.
No lines yet, except ghost lines on both brands. I have a 26 day cycle so theoretically I should see a + result within the next 2days.

I have ordered a Basal thermometer so next month, if I'm not preg before then, I will start charting my temps aswell as OPK's.

Despite OPKS I would be BD'ing hard out for the next week or so around Ovulation, thats why DH and I are doing, hopefully it works.
