How long to wait for a blood test?

How long does a blood test usually take and does it give you a good estimate on how far along you are? I'm off to the docs tomorrow at 11.30 and I just know I'll have to wait till Monday for the results!:eek:

ask your doctor to give you a beta hcG test ...it will give you how much hcG is in your blood and from that they can give you an idea how far you are :yes:

i had in lamens terms a "pee" test.. . it doesnt tell you how far along you are but results are given within minutes... they usually tell you to recall the last time you had a period and they guesstimate the due date... or until you have a ultrasound ... good luck at the docs tomoz:fingerscrossed:

Imbg2006- I would have guessed I was only 4 weeks but, I've done 3 hpt and have all come up with a very clear and definately positive, and all were done at different times of the day - first wee, mid morning and night time! So I'm not sure if the last period was really one iykwim? It only went for 2-3 days and was late. When I found out with DD I was 5 weeks and the positive was very faint then so I'm not sure with this one.:confused:
