hi there, has anyone made a fitted cloth nappies? if so does anyone have a patter they could email me? or if there is anyone making them how much do you sell them for? i do realise you can get them from the shops for around $5.00 for flannel ones and around $6.50 for terry towelling ones (at kmart and big w) but i was just wondering if making them was cheaper? Any help would be great.

Cant realy help there sorry, but you could buy just one from the shops and pick it apart to see if you can copy it. I'm not very good at making things myself but my mum does things like that, buys something so that she can copy it hersef

There are heaps online. You can buy kits from http://www.bubbaearth.com.au and http://www.ecobubba.com (I don't think it's .au although it is an Aussie site...) is a huge bunch of nappy nerds.
Enjoy! I love clothies :)

Have a look at:
http://www.ozclothnappies.org/links.html#sewing
as a starting point. It's an aussie site listing lots of links for places where you can find free patterns, as well as where you can buy fabric, elastic, closures, etc. You can also find a group of people there who will provide advice about use and sewing.

NOTE: The web address for ecobubba is now:
www.nappycino.com (anyone with ecobubba in their favourites should update the address)
It is an Aussie site, with lots of work at home mums sharing cloth nappy use and making tips and information.

Those fluffies ones at Kmart etc are made with fabric outers but synthetic wadding as the absorbent bit. horrid stuff, gets quite smelly after a few uses, urgh. You can make great nappies yourself, lots of people do, AND customise them to suit your needs!

Have fun!
