View Full Version : Xmas gift idea for my mum...help!
My mum is hard to buy for! She has perfume, not really into jewelry, bags, make up etc.
Doesn't want an electrical appliance. So basically I am screwed. :freakingout:
She is the type to say "I don't need anything"
(Massage / beauty voucher is out of the questions too!!)
we must have the same mother!!! i asked her the other day and she said dont get me anything. in the next breath she said a cleaner! she did ring yesterday though and asked for one of those bristro table/chair settings from bunnings for the verandah so once i get that she is sorted thankfully.
maybe a photobook of your LO, artwork from him (buy a blank canvas from the reject shop and let him at it with paint), does she like any movies? maybe a tv series dvd? a book or 2?
im getting my mum slippers (she loves them and wears all the time around the house)
i also get a photo frame and put a nice pic of the kids in it for her
What about a magazine subscription???

sounds like my mum however I sorta know what she's into
I've got her silver earrings as she would never buy expensive jewelry herself ( as in from a jeweler) could you get her a bangle or something?
I've got her nice expensive candles as she loves them
got her a tv aeries and cd she loves
could you get her an experience on red balloon ? like a cooking glass , wine tasting, camping trip etc whatever she's into

Movie voucher, books- what does she do when she is not working? Garden stuff? Does she drink wine?

Once I suggested that and she said "No, don't get me that!"

She goes to the movies, but uses the concession card (can't buy concession vouchers, only full price). She does drink some wine, so maybe a sweet white...but not quite enough for a Xmas gift, thanks for the idea I can add to maybe a clothes shopping voucher.
Is she into gardening? If so I beautiful pot and maybe a plant to go in it though not essential. An ornament for the garden?
There is a new book out I heard about in the radio 'Life without the boring bits by Colleen McCullough' (http://www.dymocks.com.au/ProductDetails/ProductDetail.aspx?R=9780732294489&gclid=CL-P2auByawCFaiJ4godaiHsqg#.TsrwCj24qso) that sounded like a good read. I might get it for my mum.....

I just saw a deal that she might like on red balloon (Tall Ship Sailing at Williamstown beach) Thanks.
