I was just thinking about the reactions I get when people realise i'm bf MJ. So many times, people have been talking to me, thinking MJs alseep when infact she is feeding. The usual response is "oh, my, your breastfeeding!" or "are you still breastfeeding, isnt MJ too old for that" :banghead: Only a few times have I gotten "thats so beautiful seeing a baby of her age being bf." Made my day :D

The funniest reaction was from my very embarrased 14yr old nephew at a party a few weeks ago. We were sitting in a park under a tree bf & he's come up & asked "what are you........ewwwwww"

Any good, bad, ugly or hilarious stories to share???

I wish someone would say to me that it is wonderful that I am still breastfeeding:( All I get is he is too big to be breastfed, DH says that too - which is sad but he said he can't make me stop so he normally just sits there and shuts up!

I don't bf but I wouldn't have thought your babies are "too old".

BFing a 4 or 5yr old to me is "too old" not your bubbies' age.

Good one you for still doing it is all I can say.

Exactly:thumbsup: I think he must have selective memory and forget all those times Ozzy was inconsolable and the only thing that worked was 'boobies':p

MissUnderstood - Thankyou.

oscars mum - i think it is wonderful you are still breastfeeding:yelclap:

i had a wonderful reaction today from my friend who after having heartbreaking trouble with bfding the first time, is now having great successes with her second bub. i had my dd straddlling my legs facing me and having a quick suckle, my friend said, 'oh i didn't realise they could just hop on and feed like that themeselves, as i didn't have the chance to breastfeed that long last time' (or something like that). i felt it was a really positive comment as, it implied that she saw my bub feeding at 15mths as normal, and she looked forward to having that experience herself:yelclap: .

My SIL was talking to me for ages then suddenly went "OH MY GOD DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO HAVE YOUR BOOBS OUT." lol took her a while to notice tho'.

I find it funny when I'm in a parents room and a dad walks in, they make the most deliberate attempt to avert their eyes. It's hilarious!!

I disagree :p . If my baby still wants breastmilk at 4 or 5, she'll get it. I'd much rather she drank milk from her own species rather than the milk from a big hairy faeces-covered cows udder! :detective:

I don't really b/f in public, only around people I know so they understand why DD is still feeding.
But I had a really funny moment last Christmas when DD was quite young..

My whole family was around and the kids were fascinated by this little creature, one of my cousins came into the room whilst I was feeding (he would've been about 5yo) and asked why the baby was doing that - so I explained why and he seemed happy with that, And went to wonder off.
Just outside my door I heard him talking to another cousin (about 13) saying really loudly..

"THE BABY IS ON THE BOOBY! YOU WANNA SEE?" lol

Needless the say, the 13yo kindly declined the offer :p
