Hi all

Coincidentally, on the day this area was opened my Feeding the Bump book arrived in the mail! I eat pretty healthily anyway (6-10 maltesers a night at the moment aside!) but thought this would be a good resource for my first pregnancy.

I will definitely share any tips or yummy recipes as I go through it, and would love others to do the same!

I used to love fish and eat it twice a week but I've gone right off it, and also chicken a bit too. Don't want to eat red meat too often so am practically a veggie at the moment!!

I'll join you, I love that book!
Love the tuna & rice salad- it's been so good to take to work for lunch.

We made the lamb & mushy peas the other night, it was ok- I've got a bit of a meat aversion at the moment so would probably have enjoyed it more if it wasn't for that, but hiding the lamb in the peas worked well :) DH loved it though!

Looking forward to hearing what recipes you've tried from the book! :)

My little munchkin due May 2012! So to keep me busy till then, I'm learning how to use my iPhone.

I'm vegetarian (have been for 20 years), it's really not that bad :)

I normally eat very healthy foods but the only foods I can stomach seem to be unhealthy since MS started. I've had more hot chips this last week than probably the last 2 years  The only healthy things I'll eat at the moment are cucumbers and blueberries.

Anyway, I'll love sharing recipe ideas once this MS goes. I've got the Eating for Pregnancy book, which is great. I've had it for a while and have tried probably 20 recipes from it and they're all excellent.

I'd never heard of the Feeding the Bump book until now but it looks good too. It seems to talk about important nutrients specific to each trimester, is that right? That would be good to know. Does it give recipes for healthy bland foods for queasy stomachs?!

I've only had a quick glance but it looks like it does, yes. And there are some bland things in there, and stuff to stop morning sickness. Mint is as good as ginger apparently!

Going to make some of them next week so will report back. Its a dull old jacket potato tonight.....

Ooooo, I've got it too & have made about 15 of the recipes from it - I built a high nutrition meal plan for my clients who were wanting to fall pregnant & had to try it out!! I liked the steamed chicken in lemon + ginger broth (my pre-vegetarian days!) & the tuna & brown rice salad. Its my day off today so I might make the brazil nut burgers!!
I've got a load of great recipes for mainly vegan stuff. I'll post some later when I get a chance. :)

my feeding the bump book arrived today and I love it! slightly worried as I haven't been eating as much as I should and I don't eat fish and lots of recipes are fish based.... any suggestions? just made herbed chicken baguette and have a very happy DP :-)

You could always substitute the fish for another meat? I just had the salmon with potatoes and it was yum!! I'm trying out the chickpea curry later this week...
