My bub is 13 weeks old and in the past few days has developed eczema all over his body. :( I feel so terrible for him.
Clinic nurse has checked it and said it would be good to use an oily/greasy cream on it. I saw a heap of different creams at the pharmacy, but am just wondering if anybody has any recommendations of a good one?
I like to keep it simple, ie, no fragrance or anything that could make it worse.
Since he was born I have only used QV bath oil in his bath and sorbelene cream as a moisturiser for dry areas. I have quite sensitive skin (and at times eczema) myself so I was trying to prevent this from happening to him.
Thanks.
My sisters always had it (she's 30) and she uses Dermaveen and E45 cream.

I use aveeno baby moisturiser on DD, the one with the dark blue lid. Its not very greasy/oily but its lovely and thick and I find it keeps her excema away with just a small amount after each bath.
What about Paw Paw ointment? It fixes everything!

Moo Goo all the way!!!
My DS has eczema too. I'm finding Cetaphil good to keep his skin moisturised. It's also what I use on my face which is handy. For us, keeping his skin moisturised is helping keep it at bay, but we usually need cortisone to manage flare ups.

I second Dermaveen. *Really* oily/greasy, almost vaseline like, makes the world of difference for my 4 who all suffer eczema. And it comes in a huge pot that lasts ages!

The best thing to use would be Emulsifying Ointment. You can get it in a tub from the chemist. It's what gets used as a base for alot of prescription creams, and has the LEAST ingredients you could hope for.
I'm a lifelong eczema sufferer, and the one thing I've learned in my quest to be rid of it, is the less ingredients the better. And yes, greasy is good, as it traps the moisture in.
I also find simple soap to be about the only thing I can use for cleansing which doesn't irritate my skin. And I use dermaveen shampoo (scalp isn't sensitive but everything else the shampoo comes in contact with is).
Also not sure if it's occurred to you (it's something that was pointed out to me a few years ago and it had never crossed my mind) - but what you wash your LOs clothes & linen in goes on his skin too.
I use Ecover liquid, I get it from GoVita, it's a bit dearer than the supermarket brands initially, but it lasts alot longer and is so much gentler on skin.
(i know you only asked about greasy creams but I can't help but share the things that I've found to be helpful - eczema sux ! )

Thanks for your replies!
We have found Emulsifying Ointment to be nice and greasy and help the badly affected areas (and with minimal ingredients as the PP said).
Also using Dermaveen Oil in the bath.
I have bought some Moogoo to try for myself, and so far I haven't had any bad reaction. :)
Laundry powder - I only use Planet Ark Aware (Sensitive) or Amolin. I will keep an eye on this.
I think my bub's "trigger" might have been hot weather. We had just been to the coast for a few days where it was hot and humid.
