View Full Version : Help for morning sickness!!
Hi everyone!
This is my first pregnancy and I'm about six weeks and the all day nausea has set in. I was wondering if anyone had any tips/ foods to eat that might help! Thanks everyone : )
Hiya! I would suggest trying anything with ginger in it, eat often - don't let yourself get hungry....that's when I get the heavies! I found about the only thing that stayed down most of the time was toast with butter...
If none of that works go see your doc, they can prescribe you stuff to stop you throwing up/feeling nauseous. I was prescribed maxalon to begin with, but that didn't agree with me, now on zofran/ondansetron and that keeps the nausea at bay most of the time.
But biggest tip is just don't get hungry!! Hope that helps!! :)

:hugs: I really feel your pain as this was about the time that my morning sickness set in too.
What helped me was:
-Travel sickness acupressure wrist bands (you can get them from the chemist for a few dollars)
-Eating regularly
-"Quease Ease" which is ginger & vitamin B capsules made by Buderim Ginger
Other than that, just eat what you feel like eating and take it very easy. My m/s went away at about 13/14 weeks :)

I tried everything non-medicinal and nothing worked. Some things eased it ever so slightly, but not much. Those things were:
Nibbling a salada cracker or cheds every hour so that I always had something in my stomach.
Lying down whenever possible.
Some ginger, in tablet form.
No heavy meals, and no meals with excessive spices or very strong flavours.
No milk or dairy (it didn't sit well with me during the m/s phase).
I also ate food that I could keep down, without worrying excessively about it being unhealthy. For example, there were a few weeks there where all I could eat was cheeseburgers from Mcdonalds. I didn't beat myself up about that, despite several comments from well meaning family members :)
Oh and I didn't find the accupressure bands to be of any help whatsoever, unfortunately. Some people swear by them though, so it's worth a shot!
Good luck, m/s is awful. Mine eased up a lot by 11 weeks and was gone completely by 13 weeks.
