Hi Ladies...
We have been currently living in ellenbrook for 4mths now and are finally getting used to the area.We dont have any family or friends in this area so things have been pretty quiet to say the least. :freakingout: lol...My husband and I relocated here with our 7yr old son and due to previous work commitments I have found it difficult to meet mums in the area. I would love to meet new mums with children of similar age or not who are free to meet up for playdates, coffee & a chat. :goodvibes:

Hi Daphz

Welcome to wait awhile aka WA! Ive (Emma-23) been here for 5 years and DH (26) born and bred. I live in Padbury which is like 15 mins from Ellenbrook id say.
Do you mind me asking what you mean by previous work commitments have made it difficult to meet mums in the area? Do you mean like tying loose ends or something?
What part of NSW? I am Canberra born and bred but spent a few years on the Gold Coast too.
So i have a daughter, age 2 and one on the way, due in June. I realise thats a pretty decent age gap between our kids but hope that doesnt mean you wouldnt wanna be friends.
Ive been struggling with being very lonely lately. My best friend moveda way a few months ago and the friends i do have live 40 mins away in gosnells, kewdale etc etc and to be honest, they dont make as much of an effort as i am willing to do.
So yeah... let me know if u think we might get along or ur interested. I promise im not one of those who act keen and dont reply or always cancel because i hate those people!! If i never reply it would be cause i havent received what you have sent aka an error in the system!
Hope ur well and enjoying the love-er-ly heat!!

Hi Emma,
Thanks for your response.
I have recently discovered the reason why they call WA the Wait-awhile state. It is very much more relaxed and laid back compared to Sydney. We lived in Gladesville sydney then moved to the central coast NSW so we are sort of used to the quieter coastal lifestyle. Ellenbrook though is so not coastal lol very Dry indeed and the weather is ridiculous! We've just not long got back from a mth long holiday back in sydney and were quiet shocked to come home and experience this heat. Its our first summer in Perth so were still getting used to the it. I was working full time 2 weeks after we relocated here so I didnt have a chance to join any mums groups or make any new friends which is why i found it so difficult. I have since resigned from my previous job and am studying and looking at part time work. I see you have a 2yr old and another bub on the way, I myself have a son as you know and have recently found out I am pregnant with number 2 on the way and due in August. Still early days but my hubby & I are excited as we had planned to try for another one this year. So it sounds like we would get along really well and already have a few things in common. :) I know it can get a little lonely as I have had to leave most of my family and friends behind and the family i do have here are either too far or I hardly know them well enough.
I would certainly love to meet up with you for lunch or a cuppa when your free, hopefully we can arrange something let me know whats good for you and we can swap numbers.
Take care darl. Xo :babydust1:

Hi Daphz (that short for Daphne by any chance?)

No worries!
It is so relaxed and slow moving isnt it, sometimes it drives me crazy (being an eastern stater myself) but thats just the way it is. The hardest thing for me to get used to was the no sunday trading and thurs night late night shopping, it was a friday for me in canberra.
No! Ellenbrook isnt coastal at all lol. But it would be a nice day trip for you when you go. But i hear its nice and quite new so thats good. Ive passed through but never had anyone to visit there.
How are u coping with the heat? I dont have proper aircon or a pool and everyone around me does, so i try get out on these days and cool off. Its horrid, and being pregnant makes it that bit more unbearable. yuk! If its not humid its not so bad.
Oooohh ok, yea that would make it hard, barely have time to unpack your boxes and off to work! But im here now so its ok ;) lol
What kind of work you looking for and study?
Wow, we almost the same! Its an exciting time isnt it? I cant wait to meet this little baby (boy!) So due in aug, when abouts? aka how far along? Im 21 weeks today.
I know all about lonely! My best friend left a few months ago to go travelling and the other 3 friends i have live 45 mins away and they dont put in as much effort as i do so visits are few and far between, in fact the last time i had adult contact/playdate was 4 weeks ago now... going insane here.
We can certainly arrange something! Id love to come and check out Ellenbrook if there is a nice place to go there that you know of? Or anywhere is good...
The rest of this week is pretty booked for me (for once in my life!) and next week i can do: Tues or Fri. Wed is daycare day, thurs is kindygym day (we start next thurs) and monday i have a belated bday morning tea but ive been cancelled on twice for that already so im sure it might happen again! So i guess my good days are mon, tues and fri mornings.
DD sleeps from about 12:30-1 to 3:30-4 most days but we can always play around with them! what about ur son, is he sleeping anymore and what days are good for you?
Are you on facebook? Ill pm u a link to me..

Hope to hear from you soon :)
