on another note, Julie, that dress is gorgeous.

Good luck for the scan tomorrow for someone... sorry, pregnancy brain is bad today....

and as for showing, I have been showing since 6 weeks this time, and its getting more pg looking now then fat looking lol, but I agree, I love my tum, and am showing it off, and if anyone thinks I am just fat, then their problem, they will notice soon enough that there is a bub in there.

Had a busy day, thought I was just spending it at home cleaning, but then had one friend pop in out of the blue to buy one of my bassinettes, and then while she was here another girl popped in out of the blue to give me more baby things to sell in the shop.
Then my parents came for a late lunch.

to cut a long day short, I am knackered lol.

Hi everyone:wave:

Hope everyone is doing well today, i have read posts from #2 but have forgotten if all is ok with everyone..
I have been showing for a little while now, but now i'm really starting to look pregnant and some of the girls at work have noticed " my belly", they all think its cute.

I'm 11 weeks today!:smiliedance: One more week and i'm off for my scan. Blood tests on Monday.
Thursday i'm off on holidays! Woohoo, we are heading to melbourne.
Did some more shopping yesterday and bought a few more baby items, and also a nice maternity skirt from Kmart.
My mum is dying to go out and spend big on baby stuff but i havent let her until i'm 12 weeks.
Well time to cook some dinner.

Yikes, 14wks today I am. That is so close to halfway it isn't funny!!! Very scary actually. I still have nothing, I guess some of the clothes etc can wait till after the birth, but the rest can't.
Need to organise an extra seat in the car, will have to find out if they fold up when not in use. I know the ones in Commodores do, so hopefully Magnas are the same.
Need to decide which child is sleeping in which room, need to get some under bed stoarge crates for the extra clothes and nappies (no cupboard or drawer space left). So much to do and so little time it seems.

How is everyone elses planning and preparation going?

I'm 14 weeks today too:yelclap:
I also had my 2nd 14 week a/s. (The dr just whanted to make sure the nose bone was there as the first scan was to early)

I've made my booking for the 19 week scan. Get to find out the sex (I can't wait for that). If my dh can't come with me I'm going to get the tec' to write it on a card for me so we can open it up later together.

Hope everyone is well...

Taylor,

That sounds like a great idea geting the Tech to write the sex down on a card for you to both open later! I would never have thought of that. That's great!

Well ladies, the green dress arrived today and it looks lovely. It's actually quite heavy so it's good quality. I think it will be great to see me through any special occasions/weddings over summer.

I don't know if I mentioned this or not already but I am definitely showing - to the point where my boss 'enquired'!! I was so excited about telling work after we had the NT scan - and so when he enquired I felt like he'd burst my bubble big time. So I thought well if it's so obvious I may as well tell the office (only six of us) but somehow five of them had already guessed.  So my little secret wasn't a secret afterall.

I told my boss that I was planning to tell him but now reallly wasn't the right time. Anyway, hopefully that will teach him for commenting on my 'expanding wasitline'!! How rude!

They certainly do!! And don't you think it would be polite to just let someone inform you of their pregnancy - rather than remind someone how much notice they need to give if and when they are pg??

Jen - you should order it!! Medium is equiv to a Size 12 apparently. I'll let you know once I've tried it on. Yep slack I know that I haven't put it on yet but am too tired. Am getting my hair done tomorrow so will try it on then.

Sweet!.. Let me know how it fits, I would be after a Size 12 as well. This dress will still show the bump which is okay, I can handle that. And if I get the "Are you pregnant, or are you just fat?" line, I reckon I will just say abit of both! *L*

Yep, we have a 2002 Magna stationwagon. I called 2 places that I know do the extra seats a few months ago. One is charging $1235 for a 2 seater and $1510 for a 3 seater. Another place is charging $1810 for a 2 seater and $2210 for a 2 seater, but apparently they are a better quality seat which is why they cost more. When I called them, I never thought to ask if they fold up, so I will have to call them back.
We were going to go with the cheaper 2 seater, but if they don't fold up, then I think I'll go with the more expensive one.
I am really worried about the tether straps getting in the way though. I will have two tether straps anchored on the roof and 2 kids sitting directly under them.

Try www.oppositelock.com and see if there is one near you, they are one place that do them.

Hi Girls,

We have a Holden Commordore and I am hoping they can just drill another hole into my parcel shelf - mind you my "custom parcel shelf" that I paid big bucks for to have a good stereo system in my car! - oh the life of the single woman back then! We now have another Mothers Choice car seat we just need the bolt and the other little clip thing at the end and we should be right. I hope DP can work that all out, I dont know much about it!.. We are keeping the existing car seat in there for my son, which has been his since birth, as I want him properly restrained in the car even though he will be 3.5 when bubs is born.

FourAngelKisses
05-10-2006, 07:57 AM
DD was 4.5 when she moved into a booster seat, she would have been 5, but her legs were getting too long for it. Her shoulder height was fine, as was her weight, but she had such long legs, lol.

I also need to get an extension strap. I sold mine after I turned Matthews seat around. :banghead:

(Not car seat related) but isn't it stupid that at 14 weeks I am still suffering the effects of Morning Sickness? It had left me for a week or so, and now it seems like its coming back with a vengeance. I can be cruising in the morning, then be doing something, and it comes over me like a wave, where I seriously feel like I am going to be sick! :barf:

I find I have to sit down, have a drink and stay quiet for a little while, until it passes. I am wondering if I will have this on and off through this pregnancy? I had absolutely no sickness with DS at all!.. :devil6:

well jen i am 15 weeks and still suffering from morning sickness (well all day sickness).... I am so so so over it as nothing i eat helps and everything i eat it just YUCK... OH yes and i am tired too and i am in bed by 8pm and have a 3 hr nap during the day with ds (i feel sorry for the ladies who work full time) i only do 2 days a week and thats enough for me......

well i hope everyone is well.

I think when you get tired (which we pg ladies tend to do more easily than others) then you get cranky easily. I also find that my m/s is worse when I'm really tired, as I mostly get it in the evenings.

I did some water aerobics last night - and although I am feeling a bit weary today - am finding that I had a little bit more energy this morning as a result. Am amazed I got through the class okay. I keep worrying that now the m/s is easing that that is a bad sign, but my bbs are still quite tingly and sore so :fingerscrossed: . Only 12 days until my scan!! :smiliedance:

Hi everyone...

Morganj I know what you mean about needing to know everything is OK. :o Thankfully I had my o/b appointment this morning and got to see bubs (aka Cho Cho) ... with a very healthy heartbeat... phew I know panicking over nothing but I needed the reassurance; my friend had a scan at 11 weeks only to find out bubs had died at 9 weeks (so I haven't been allowing myself to to enjoy it yet out of fear) I can't believe your boss just came out and asked about your expanding waistline !
Jen13 I'm sorry that you still have :barf: I hope it passes soon - it must be so draining for you.
Sarah- great news on your scan....:)

No nausea here but very light headed in the mornings. I've bought a little stool from IKEA to leave in the shower because I've come close to blacking out a few times. NT scan in 1½ weeks:fingerscrossed: . Next o/b appointment in mid Nov when I'm 16wks.

We haven't bought any baby stuff yet, but we have bought a new car and a new computer !!!! .... OK so I our priorities are a little out of whack !

Cheers

tho after this one im determined to lose weight and get down to about the size i was when i concieved Lucy. I was happy at that weight.

Hello, I have been looking at all your belly shots. Your bellies are growing nicely. I will have to take another belly shot and show you. I can't believe how much I am showing at 13 weeks.

Morganj - can't wait til you have your ultrasound. Want to see your little bubba.

Hope you all are travelling along nicely. My m/s has settled down now and I have the energy to clean the house (very unusual). Got to the love the second trimester.

Is everyone who has entered the second trimester feeling a little better now? I suppose every trimester has there problems hey.

Belinda!,

Oh I know how you feel! Isn't horrible when you are really looking forward to one particular food and it tastes like cardboard? There is nothing worse! And I still have a problem with meat! I am very selective as to what I will eat these days which seems like air most of the time! I seem to be living on Lasagne & salad. I still cannot come at eating red meats, and am only just trying to get mince in spag bol! I think its gonna be a lengthy process. And who said morning sickness goes away at 12-13 weeks???.. For some I think they have it all through their pregnancy. Damn!...

I don't work as such, but I have been doing a fair bit of mystery shopping and selling on ebay, which is keeping me very very busy. As well as having a pain in the butt 3 year old!.. Oh the joys of having children hey? *LOL*

Morning ladies,
Does anyone else forget to take their vitamins, im a shocker, never take them. Does anyone know how important they are??
Love Pony

The only vitamins I take are folic acid for now, I asked my doctor about multivitamins for preggy women and she said they aren't necessary unless you have a deficiency in something so I'll pass on them for as long as I need to.

I think you said something in the other thread about showing? 'I already have an "extra roll" normally so it was hard to tell if it was me or the bub but I started getting a bit of a belly at 7 weeks and am showing a bit more now :) its so exciting. I'm 10 weeks now. I can't wait till I'm big and showing it off!

I was thinking about getting a bikini top and boardshorts to go swimming until a friend reminded me about stretch marks. Will wait and see if I'm lucky enough to get by without getting them too bad(unlikely since I already have them from weight gain/loss/gain). :fingerscrossed:

Holy bejeasus you girls can talk....lol....

I just gotta say: ( used last 2 batts for sumthin else:devil6: )

We have that problem also, the kids need batteries, I gotta say, "Hang on, Ill go get some, then lock myself in my bedroom to get them....lol"

Sarah, that is one gorgeous bubba, great photo.

I have actually lost 6kg, which I cant actually say where, my tummy is big.
Im still tired, went to sleep last night on lounge at 6 last night, woke up at 11, asked craig where the kids were  , he had put them to bed.... Went straight to bed, and woke at 9.30 thismorning, and still had a nannanap thisafternoon, when craig got home, cant help it.

My back is really sore from doing the floors yesterday, and Ive also been sorting through the kids clothes taking out winter, and putting in summer, and I just took 23 full garbage bags to the salvos thismorning, god I keep some junk.

Id better go, I spose, get tea ready, only fish and boiled new pots and vegies, all I can be bothered doing.

I need to get myself a decent pair of maternity swimmers too for summer, and was thinking boardshorts and bikini top too, dont like showing off my bum, so that will have to be that plan, now I just need to find them before it warms up...

Hey Nuddle

Tell me about this bonds bra?? Is it maternity or sports or something?

Well ladies, I just noticed when I went to the loo that I've have the tiniest of brown spotting! :gloomy: Am starting to worry and am really regretting the water aerobics last night (pregnancy safe). I am thinking of getting an u/s done Monday to ease my mind (hubby is away until tomorrow night and I don't want to do it without him there). hugs Julie, try not to worry, remember I had that too, at 8 weeks, and then again at 12 weeks, but yes, I would go and get an early u/s, just to put your mind at ease.

As for the bra, its called a bandeau, its really just like a boob tube, but only covers the boobs lol, only costs just over $10, very comfy, and no straps, and no wires....

Belinda:laughing: that's too funny, big mummahouse. I'm steadly eating my way there too........

I forget my vitamins as well. I even try and keep them were I can't forget like next to my toothbrush or on the bedside table. Nothing works:rolleyes:

Miss behave I think it was you asking about loosing it? I do, yesterday I couldn't remember the name of this supermarket that we are going to now. So I'm trying to tell dh that it's on the this corner down the road.. (:ecomcity: ).
Anyway dh didn't understand so I ended up furiouse, roaring: The F-ing one on the corner of the F-ing F-ing beep, beep, beep! then sobbing like an animal wilst dh huddles away from the maniac (surly thats not me:confused: )

And OMG! HORNY. I am, and my dreams are out of controle. Strangly I'm very loyal and dh is always the star.

hey everyone

just got back from seeing the ob for the first time (was meant to be this morning but someone else was in labour), and i must say and i am really happy with my desicion. If anyone else is SOR in Perth and wants a nice, friendly female ob i cant recomend Anna Holmes enough. We spent like an hour with her, just chatting and we even got to see jellybean again as she has a u/s in her rooms.
Best of all - she doesnt believe in weighing people WOO HOO!!! she rekons that it doesnt really tell her anything anyway.

she said that i am probably going to get gd as my mum has diabetes (and everyone on that side of the family too) and mum got it when she was pregnant with me and my twin sister. so she said that i may as well cut back on all the lollies  and that now so that its easier later on.

You know what this thread needs?? A pregnant moderator!

Hi everyone, I'm Bron. I've been lurking around these threads for weeks, but not prepared to come out of the closet until after my 12 week ultrasound (if you look at my signature you'll understand).

So, ultrasound was today, all went really well. Heartbeat of 160bpm, the downs risk went from the background risk of 1 in 482 to adjusted risk of 1 in 5000 so we were pretty happy about that.

EDD is 18 April. I still feel queasy sometimes, but starting to feel more alert.

I look forward to sharing the rest of this journey with you all

Hi all, I thought it was about time that I joined this cosy little thread. I have been afraid of joining earlier for fear of jinxing myself, but so far things are looking good!!
Im approx 12 weeks pregnant, and still feeling pretty queasy for most of the day. I thought the worst was over as I had been feeling slightly better, but on Mpnday morning I was greeted with a raging case of morning sickness. Anyway, enough whinging from me.

Looking forward to getting to know you all, and sharing this journey together,

Welcome Dee Dee and Bron!!

The doctor's receptionist asked me to call back in the morning as the u/s place was closed. She will make an appt if I call back in the morning. My dh is in Tasmania at the moment and is at a function tonight so I haven't spoken to him about it yet. I didn't want to worry him. He is landing in the morning so I will talk to him then and possibly book an u/s for later in the afternoon. The spotting was very slight and I haven't noticed anything since.

The green dress is lovely - although makes my bbs look enormous - and makes me look quite big generally. I am used to being tall and slim - not used to looking at myself so big and round. Hmm.

Welcome Dee & Bron - congratulations to both of you!

As far as the friskyness goes I have been completely the opposite.. DF and I had sex today for the first time in a month. My sex drive has been pretty much nil since I fell pregnant, which is very strange for us because we have always been a randy couple. ;) I do enjoy the odd battery opperated orgasm, though, lol.

I've got quite a lot of stress going on in my life right now though, so please excuse me if I post less. My Dad who has been an abusive (physically, mentally & emotionally) drinker for the last 10 years of my life has reached a point this evening after blowing up about my wedding not going the way he wants, where I no longer feel safe living in the granny flat at the back of my parents house with DF anymore. The living conditions & situation and fear for my own safety and that of my baby's has led Chris and I to a) either move in with his parents until after the wedding (at which point we were going to move into our rental anyway) or b) find our own place, fast. Needless to say it is completely unneeded stress before our wedding in two weeks, and my mother is past it too. I no longer want to be around him, and I'm sick of his empty sorries and promises. I just can't take much more of this, and I don't want to have to.

Will keep you all updated

Jessie

Hi...seriously people 99 pages from #2 and 17 pages from this one I am knackered and that was before I started the horrendous task of catch up.

I'm sorry for not poping in for a while, I suppose I deserve the marathon read. I have been so ill however -its been a nightmare. I was vomiting in my staff room at work, horrible and embarrashing!!! I cant eat, I've been losing weight like I'm a teenager prepping for prom night or something. I have raging headaches all the time (no panadol in this country and I wouldnt trust what they ok - 9.5 kgs weight gain and they put you on a diet here)

And I will appologise ahead of time coz I know this will be a monster post...remember everything you guys said for the past month is fresh in my mind. Talking about minds - was complaining to my male friend about the pregnancy brain fog and he found research from the U.K. that our brains actually shrink!!! Apparently evolution does NOT know what its doing!!!

As for the was it planned statement I agree how *@#&ing rude!!! I got 'oh are you married?' two days ago! WTF and after my first day off sick because I physically couldnt get on the train I was vomiting I got 'Its just so weird Janet wasnt sick like you, I dont see why you are so sick'..... Well you found me out Im really just faking it so I could have the day off. over 30, Unmarried, childless spinster b***h a nono in this country. BTW kaz240 your 'is it relevant' answer is so fantastic!!!

And just today my co-worker (who is due 4 days after me) and I were discussing the not feeling pregnant thing. How is it possible that so many things have changed for us and yet we still cant phathom this little life inside us untill the bugger starts to beat us up.

I dont really have cravings but for a while there I was able to eat things that tasted tomatoe-e...went out with DH's co-workers and ordered a bowl of tomatoe sauce and sucked it off my chopstick....finished it and order another.

As mentioned by others so hot at night DH has the winter blankets out and I'm still turning the air-con on. And as for SairBair's question, I actually got on the net and got DH and I some porn (that a first for me - dont tell my mother she thinks its the devils work).

Oh and another thing the stupid childless c*w at work told everyone - my students included- I was pregnant. Came to work and a low level student asks me 'Wendy do you have a baby?' so I said no and shes like 'oh she said you had a baby' then I had to explain the baby/fetus thing but not the fricken point. Who does that??? I know for a fact it's illegal in Australia. Not illegal here but still rude yet she does it!!! I have 3 jobs which is getting me down but this one on it's own is 3 too many!!!

Last thing Mummy2beagain thanks for the video link of bubs moving that was so beautiful.

Sorry

Hi Jessie,

How awful to have to live in a situation like that... It is hard when you have family members like that, and to fear for your safety is not a good thing. I would definitely move out if possible, you need to be in a safe environment. Having had an abusive father myself, the best decision my mother ever made was leaving that sad and sorry pathetic excuse of a father of mine, and we never looked back, that was 20+ years ago,and I haven't seen that sorry excuse since. Obviously it would be a very hard situation for your mother as well, and she probably would be fearing for her own safety. Maybe both your mother and yourself could go and find some sort of help from women's health services. Your father obviously has a very bad drinking problem, and issues surrounding himself. He needs s ome help to control his alcoholic problem. What you need it support for your mother and yourself. There must be someone that you can contact where you are for support and help. And I know it is at a very bad time, where you are organising your wedding, but you are far better off doing something now before something bad happens to you, your baby, your fiancee or your mother even.

Let me know how you get on, I hope that you can organise something to feel safe and stable again. :hugs:

Jessie

i know exactly how you are feeling, my dad was an alcoholic for many years and in the end the only thing that saved him, my parents marriage and me and my brother and sister was the fact that he started working in the bush (on the mines) and every morning before work you have to give a breath test - he quickly learnt to to stop drinking or he would be spending all day sitting around the camp by himself not earning any money.

its definetly something you dont need to deal with just before your wedding, but at the same time you've done the right thing by leaving as things are not safe for you and your little family.

big :hugs: to you

Good Morning Ladies

Sorry for the lack of personals but am not in a very good frame of mind. I think being at home this week on my own has only added to being a bit stressed and emotional about the spotting - so have decided to go and get an u/s today. DH flies back at 11.30 am so have booked the u/s for 1.00 pm.

I am absolutely petrified!! And this is supposed to be such a happy time.

Hey everyone

Upon Chris deciding that the only way that my Dad was going to be even remotely forgiven or even spoken to was if he undertook counselling for his anger & drinking and stopped drinking all together - Dad messaged us and told us that he "swore on [my] baby's life that he would not touch another drop" and he has actually booked in for an appointment with my Psychologist. I actually called my psych beforehand to give him the current run-down on the situation at hand and he has agreed to see him. My Mum feels better knowing that Dad is willing to do this but to be honest I feel like it's only a matter of time before he goes back to his ways and I am not letting myself believe it for fear of it happening all over again, like it always does. I don't think I could hurt more. As far as CJ and my living situation we are going to take one day as it comes and try and get out of here into our own place ASAP.

Thank you all for your kind words. I'll keep you up to date, even though this has been an on-going situation for many many years.

On another note - Morganj, I'm thinking of you. I'm sure it will all be just fine. Hang in there and think positive, I'm sure it's nothing!

Mame - great to see you again! So sorry to hear that you have had such an awful time. We've missed you.

miss behave, I think you have the right idea. Dont hope for anything coz after a long track record it probably wont change but it's your dad yeah and no matter how bad he is you always want him to change. Its the same with my mum (although she is just pysco mean not dangerous) she gets it together for a bit and then losses it big time all over again. As long as I expext her to ****-up I dont have too many problems. Just remember to be safe and take Chris's advice - he's an outside point of view that can see whats going on. Good Luck, I hope your dad does manage to get it together. But I must say swearing on your babies life made me cringe.

On a brighter note I'm 12 weeks today too (but in japanese standards) so I am day one of month 4!!! All you have to do is move country and you can be further along in your pregnancy....down side being that actually do count the whole 10 months here, 3 down 7 to go.

And I forgot to mention in the monster post how tired I am...I am so tired I cant watch T.V. Home by myself wed. night and I turned on the telly and couldnt watch it - I was so tired. I just switched it off and whimpered in my bed, too tired to cry even. And thats how drunk hubby found my at 11.30pm. Sad and sorry state.

Hi girls

Wendy glad to see you back!! With every pregnancy Ive had, I have a really hard time surviving in weeks 9-13, its almost like my body is trying to reject the baby, or maybe like the baby is eating at me from inside, if you know what I mean, the last 2 have resulted in me getting pneumonia (including this one), I cant get out of bed, and just feel like it would be better dead basically, then all of a sudden around week 13, I start to feel well again, its weird, and with every pregnancy, I say to Craig, god I hope I dont get sick this time, and BAM I do. I know, its almost like I have to go thgough hell just to get through the first trimester, but I always cruise through pregnancy after that, without any sickness or feeling unwell, maybe, just maybe this will be your case, and in the next week or so you will be feeling great, and cruise through it like I do....

I just got up at 12, god I love Craig, he is brilliant! (I had to give him one tho for this arrangement to occur....lol)

morganj, hope all is well, youll be there now, or finished, hope you update us as soon as possible!

Alright, Id better get going I spose, do some washing and sort out what is for tea.

Gosh you ladies can talk!! Haven't got time to read all the posts, so I hope everyone is doing well.

NUDDLE..................

I've just been ringing around about the seats for Magnas. The basic model is about $1510 and comes out in grey velour. It doesn't have a head rest.
Next model up is $1860. they can pretty much match your cars interior with the upholstery and it comes with a headrest.
They go right up to $2200 and that model can recline to all sorts of angles etc etc.....all that stuff that kids don't need, lol.

They all fold up when not in use. No one was sure if the tether straps would get in the way of whoever was in the boot (gawd that sounds mean....kids in the boot ogf the car, LOL), but one place told me that if I brought the car in, they could have a look at it for me.
Another place is sending me out a brochure, so I'll let you know if it has anything else in there that I haven't put here.

EDITED TO ADD............

Permission to swear please?? One place has just called me back. They have a weight limit........fruck!!! Jacob (9yrs old) weighs 45kg and is 4ft 10in tall. Brooke (8 this Christmas) is only 22kg and 4ft tall. The ****ie seats can only hold kids up to 8yrs old or 26kg. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
I don't know what to do....we are in the middle of refinancing our loans (car loan, personal loan and home loan) and if we do that, we will not be able to afford to buy a new car. I really want to cry right now......might call the bank and see if we can put a hold on things for a month until we can trade the magna in and get a van.

lizzymcfizzy I know what you mean!!! DH cooked a plastic dish in the microwave (and he's suppose to be the food expert) the burnt plastic smell freaked me out, I made him open everything up but could still smell it. I just freaked out and we had to leave to house. Who knows what it could do to bubs - and seriously why take the risk.

And Mummy2beagain thanks!!! I havent :barf: that much and DH's co-worker has been ordered bed rest for 2 weeks as she has :barf: so much. I just kinda feel like no-one believes how sick I feel because there are no outward signs. And I know exactly how you feel, I feel so empty...not emotionally but physically like little Mame is taking everything.

I havent gotten out of bed today and Im feeling okay, but have make a move to work soon so see if it holds up. I dont want to curse myself but seriously :fingerscrossed:.

Heheh.. I have to laugh about the posts relating to being horny and such during pregnancy! hehe.. I haven't been too bad, but DP has been feeling totally frisky these last few days and has lucked out several times. I can't have a proper conversation with him at all, because for some reason, the conversation either turns to be something sexual by him, whether its regarding my boobies or him wanting to jump me! I spose I can see the funny side, but I think he is really going out in sympathy for me I think. I went into work to visit him today to sepak to him about some baby pram and microwave problems (don't ask...) and cos he's out the back eating lunch the conversation turns to " you want a quickie?" *L* hahah.. Poor man...!

Anyone elses DP turned into a hornbag of late as well?...

MorganJ, I hope things are going well at the ultrasound, I am thinking of you. :hugs:

I dont know is it something with Japanese men - there is so much porn shooved in their faces from day 1 they dont seem to be as randy as our Aussie boys. Outside of this pregnancy lark we are quite compatible but I think the next few months are gunna be hell on ME!!! WTF???

Okay off to work - still feeling good (well thats relative) but have a 20 min walk in the rain and 20min bus ride ahead of me. I hope it holds up. Have a good afternoon all!!!

In the ultrasound they measure the baby and that is accurate my friend, epecially if it is an early ultrasound. The bub hub calculator goes on the average womens cycle, not a women who has irregular cycles. So in this instance, I would have to trust the health professionals. :)

I have irregular cycles too and I entered the first day of my LMP and it gave me a totally different date to my ultrasound dating scan. When you consider that my cycles are over 40 days long, can you see what I am getting at? Go with what your doc says.

Speaking of which....how accurate are due dates given at 18-20wk scans, anyone know?? Just wondering in case my dates are wrong.

due dates, please dont get so hung up on it, the baby will come when its ready, it really is only an estimation anyway, but either way, I would go with the ultrasound too, Japaneese or not, I think the Japaneese are pretty advanced in their technology, and I would like to think they know what they are talking about.

Thanks ladies for your kind words and for thinking of us both!! :hugs: Am back from the hospital and am just resting as am a bit sore. The doctor has said he will run some tests for us as that is what we want. He was very obliging and respectful of our wants. I am being well looked after and am in good hands. Looking forward to spending some much needed time with the family when I fly to Perth on Wednesday. Thanks again ladies. I wish you all a very healthy pregnancy!! I will keep in touch and let you all know how we go with the results. :hugs: :hugs:

On a small note: Hi to our two new girls Bron and Dee Dee:wave:

I went to the Brisband Natrual Baby expo. It was so bad! Not at all like the big convention a few months back. If anyone go's watch out for the nappy sellers. They are nuts and just about ram those nappys at you. I also got scared of the hemp nappy lady who was nearly in tears on some tirade mission about Hemp propaganda:confused:

In terms of due dates, the lady who done my ultrasound at 8 weeks said that this is the ultrasound scan to go by (the early ultrasound). She said ignore any future dates you are given at later ultrasounds. Dating ultrasounds are more accurate in early ultrasound because all babies grows at the same rate, but later on, babies then grow at different rates. You know, some are tiny babies and some are big. So go by the early ultrsound if you had one.

Hope this helps:)

I havent looked at your pics yet as I just wanted to say a BIG FAT YES to the pains. Sometimes they have made me cry out to DH, its so scary. Both my doctor (who was present when I had one) and two of my pregnancy books say its .... shhh no-ones looking right... gas . I couldnt believe it! Mine is usually of quite a stabbing nature. And as I struggled to explain it to Dh in the beginning, its very painful at first then goes away but the memory of the pain stays in that area for a bit longer. I know thats a totally weird and wacked out description but it was the best I could come up with then and I havent been able to refine it since :D If thats the same for you then I wouldnt worry...but maybe those around you should in a little while

xColly, to me it seems like a lot, but I guess thats because I tend to buy more second hand things, and would not spend that much money on a cot etc. It is a good thing they are giving you a discount, and I guess you would just have to add it all up and see if it can be cheaper if you wait for certain places to have sales, ie kmart 20% off etc. But I think if its really everything you want, and you are sure about it, then go for it.

Hi All,

I went on a big spending spree yesterday in Melbourne. Had a look around at the baby shops as well as Highpoint. We ended up coming home with a really nice pram, it is a Childcare pram called a "Hola Stroller" that resembles the new Bug-a-Boo range. It has the big wheels at the back and trolley type wheels at the front. It is great because it is a bassinette and a stroller in one! You can have it either way and it detaches off the frame as well so that if bubs is asleep you can just pop it off the frame and bring bubs inside and put into a bedroom or in the loungeroom. It comes with a sunshade, raincover, bootcover & the wheel pump. It was more than I wanted to pay, but for the convenience and features it is well and truely worth the money! And it is so light and easy to manouvre. We still need a few items, but apart from that we pretty much have alot of the things we need here from our previous child.

Hope all of you are well, I will be going to have a squizz at our local market, the old grannies there knit the most beautiful baby outfits, cardigans and what not, and I love checking them out. How they make them and just pull them out of thin air just amazes me. Most of them can make them without even looking at a pattern!...

Anyway I must dash, I have a child wanting something...

Cheers,

Jen.

Hello everyone

It's been a lovely day - DF and I went and had a picnic at New Farm Park for brunch today. We read the papers and munched on breadrolls with ham & cheese and watermelon. Really nice and relaxing, Brissie's weather is so beautiful atm.

The last 3 days we have bd twice, and both through my initiating! Our sex life is improving after being dormant for 2 months.. TMI sorry but I am kind of in shock about it, but so happy!

We are using my old cot that I had when I was a child and Chris' folks kept his too so we are really happy that we don't need to fork over money for that. As far as prams go, we are getting one from Chris' folks as their present for the baby and we have also snagged Chris' old bassinette and bath, too. The only thing we really need is a high chair and change table, and Chris' Dad is making one for us. We're so lucky!

I've got my u/s on Thursday at 3pm.. can't wait. This week is going to be very busy with work and wedding planning stuff. I hope it flies by so I can marry DF on the 21st!

Only 3 more sleeps and i finally get to see my bub, i am starting to look forward to it now, hubby is getting excited too. I think i felt the baby moove for the first time the other night, i was laying in bed reading and it just felt soooo strange. I havent felt it in so many years but it put a smile on my face, hubby thought i was weird LOL sitting there smiling

Nuddle,

I had a look for some Maternity swimwear a little while back that I could wear when taking my son for his swimming lessons, and I had been looking everywhere as well. I didnt find any Maternity swimmers, but I bought a nice pair of Wavezone all in one Black bathers in a size 12, that do the job and seem to stretch in the area of my belly. They are really comfortable as well. That was the closest thing I could find that I actually liked and that I felt was appropriate to wear. The shops must still be getting their summer stock in.

Hi there girls,
Just thought that I would pop in to say hi and to see how you are? We got some results back last week. The ob did tests on the placenta to see if there was any problems but that came back healthy so that was good. We were then sent away for blood tests to test various things and we should be getting those back sometime this week. The chromosomes from the baby should be coming back in another 2 weeks so that should be interesting if anything comes back from that.

We have been told as well that when we decide to try again that I will be going on Asprin to thin the blood cause it might be as simple as that. But my partner and I have decided not to try bow till 2008!! I am happy with that decision so that's good. He bought me a cat the on Friday to help me deal with everything and to also put my love and attention to him instead of being so preg focused. Little did I know what his intentions were!!!!!!!!!

He proposed and I said YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smiliedance:
So now my focus and intention and going to be the wedding in 2008 and when that's done we will be trying for a baby. It's not that long away cause next year is going to fly by just like this year. And like I said my cat Herman is our baby now.

Well wanted to give you the good news and to tell you that I am coping well and things are looking up. Thanks for all your support by the way, I am glad that I found you guys. I hope you don't mind me popping to let you all know the results cause some of you said that you wanted to know.

Yes Becs CONGRATULATIONS!!!

And I am jealous, I wanted a cat but we arent allowed pets and DH thought a cat would be too noisy  so he got me a ferret  . She is cute to be sure but oh so smelly!!! I miss my cat back in Australia so much!!! You look forward to a whole lot of love...and independence hehehehe!!!

You'll need him to be independent with the wedding. Its true 2008 and not far away. My mum sent me a Christmas email last week and said the stores back home have already broken out the deccies

Good luck with your test results, I hope they give you an answer, and thats its plain and simple and easy to fix!!!

Thanks for letting us know whats going on with you and feel free to drop by anytime - your still one of us. :hugs:

Hello Girls,

I am 14 weeks today. My belly is protruding and so obvious now. I am so excited. Seeing my ob on Thursday.

Congratulations to Becs on your engagement and all the best with planning your wedding. I also hope you find the answers you are looking for and that they sort everything out for when you are ready to try again in 2008.

Good to hear from you Becs, you know, getting married is perfect, it will give you so much to do over the next year, that you will be too busy to worry about anything else. Enjoy the planning of it, and I hope it will be as simple as taking the aspirin when it comes to ttc again. I had to start taking mine three months prior to ttc, but I am sure they would have told you that too.
Would love to see a picture of your new baby though. And please pop in every so often and say hi.

Boy, can I just say, the dreams are exhausting, I normally dream a lot, but they are a bit disturbing at the moment, they are not nice ones this time around, the night before last, I dreamed that I found a boat that had sunk, and found two girls, whose parents had both drowned, one girl was around 5, the other maybe 6 months. First this woman kept trying to take me off them, then I finally brought them home, and gave them a bath, and the baby kept slipping under the water, and it would take me ages to get it back out, it just kept slipping out of my hands.

Then last night I dreamed that I was having a heartattack, I can still feel my chest thumping with these deep heartbeats, and there was someone there with me, and I tried to get them to call 000 and just couldnt communicate enough to get my point accross....

Nuddle,
I know the feeling. I have had many a shocking dream, sometimes just horribly frightening, and others just plain stupid! But the energy that your brain puts into to create them makes you so damn tired in the morning it isnt funny! I sometimes feel like I have to have another nap from the dreams! It was strange, I spoke to one of the mothers from our playgroup about it, and she just about floored me with her suggestion about how to avoid them. She told me to 'pray' to God, to keep me and my family safe, and I have no idea what it is, but it has worked for me. I am not religious, and I never have been, and when she told me I was sceptical and approached it with the thought "yeah right, oookkkaaayyy!.." But I tried it and it seemed to help. (Definitely no offence to those who do actively practice religion). I'm not saying that you have to, but just saying I know how it is to have bad dreams that are so real they are terrifying! I hope that you have better nights sleep soon!..

Cheers,

Jen.

I have my 15wk checkup tomorrow too. I can't wait to hear the heartbeat!!! When I booked it a month ago, DH was supposed to be able to come but they have rearranged his shifts around at work, so he can't come now. :( But being school holidays, I will have the kids with me, so they will get to hear it.

Is anyone else still haveing problems with waking really early in the morning or is it just me?

Bron
10-10-2006, 07:25 AM
Yes, me! I've been waking at about 4am and tossing and turning until it is time to get up and walk the dog. Drives me crazy.

I've been having vivid and wacky dreams too. Some nasty nightmare types, but others are just odd (being on an audition panel and one woman refused to sing, but instead walked her goose on a lead around the room and thought that this would get her into a choir  )

FourAngelKisses
10-10-2006, 07:44 AM

I know what you mean about waking early (for me usually around 4.30/5am) I manage to get back to sleep for an hour that's when the dreams come. My dreams have been very sexual - I get to try out a new sexy person 3 or more times a week, :devil6: !!! LOL (haven't mentioned these dreams to DP !)

hi girls!
On another note, im a bridesmaid for my SIL in 5 weeks and her dress maker is trying to convince her to convince me to wear control underwear! madness, i tried an old pair on today and my gosh it was uncomfortable! theres no way im going to make my baby suck in so unaturally like that! RUDE! i have a dress fitting tomorrow night so im a bit over the whole thing!
x

How rude of the dressmaker! She obviously hasn't had kids. I used to wear control undies before pregnancy and haven't been able to wear them since week 5! Way too uncomfortable. Probably not good for bubs either! I'm sure you sister in law won't mind you having a little bump, she wouldn't have asked you otherwise! And its not like its going to be huge.

yeah, well she is sneaky, you can get those on the belly basics website at the moment on special for $20, might be better... http://www.bellybasicsaustralia.com/maternity.htm click on sale, its in there

did you guys see the cheap swimmers on there on sale? Very nice for only $20!

I like the other stuff but it’s a bit expensive for me. Sale stuff is nice though

Gosh, a belly!
Gosh, what a strange delight, to be excited that I can't pull in my tummy!!! :yelclap:

I know!!!! its wonderful isn’t it. I can’t wait till I get bigger.

BECS, so good to hear from you and so wonderful to hear you are coping well :) Goes to show that its our choice how we let life affect us. Your fiancee sounds perfect! CONGRATULATIONS! I bet Herman is gorgeous! I love cats. We can’t have one anymore because we got a dog that chases everything. But I still love our dog :) LOL a ferret would be interesting.

NUDS, I know what you mean about the dreams! scary stuff. JEN that’s great that prayer worked for you! I personally feel that is how I finally got up the duff. I consider myself a Christian but not hardcore and I don’t go to church. I’ve always prayed but when I made my first proper heartfelt, impassioned plea to God I got pregnant!

Poor Jessie with the throwing up!!!

I’m another one for aqua aerobics, I did it at our local pool last year and loved it. Only $8 a class! No pregnancy option class though. I have a gym membership that expires in December so I’m going to have to get my moneys worth before I skip off to aqua though :(

For those of us having trouble keeping up with the thread, I’ve found it helpful to subscribe to a daily email instead of individual emails when a new post is made. That way you get one email with a heap of posts that is easy to read.

Did anyone get nervous about their neural transulency scan? I'm really excited and looking forward to it but in the back of my mind I can't help but worry that they won't find a heartbeat. I'm not concerned if it has downs or anything else genetic which is strange. You never know, I might find out theres two in there!

Just to begin with I just woke startled, upright paniced and gasping for breath. A bunch a squid people kidnapped everyone and kept taking people in an elevator thing that went up a little came back down and then went down. I tricked a squid man out of the elevator and got in it myself rode it downward all the way through to the other side of the earth and it opened underwater. Totally weird. Im not much of a dreamer normally.

I much prefer the sexy ones hehehehe had some of those too. But also had the mean ones - this is no baby, its a weird cancer instead, Dh is cheating.:crying:

I dont have the waking up early thing as such. Im up so many times and have woken naturally that by 3-4 am I feel like its a long night already and I usually go to bed around 11pm.

In Japan they want all women to wear a girdle when they are pregnant, one reason is to support the belly but the other is to keep everything pushed in an attempt to control your size so its easier to lose weight once baby is born. There is an after birth one too. Some cultures are just too hung up on weight (is your dressmaker originally from Australia?). And I agree I bet you SIL has no probs with your bump!!!

Hi Girls

We just got our results back, and Craig ISNT a CF gene carrier, so all is good, brings the chances down to 1 in 500 cause Im a carrier, so Im not worried at all!! But we did learn that any baby we have will be a 1 in 2 chance of being a carrier, so they all have to be tested when they become sexually active. But all is good.

Im getting a large hard lump in my tummy now, wonder what that is....lol..... its getting really obvious now, not just to the eye but I can really feel it sticking out over the fat....lol...

OK, we are taking the kids to the local pool today, so better get organised, and get some energy organised also....

On the girdle, omg, I wore tight as pants out to my birthday party the other week, and I had the worst stomach ache the next day, like AF pains, that was from being pulled in, Id say no for sure, wedding or not, you are pregnant, lol, let it all hang out..

Hi All,

I went for my 15 week antenatal appointment, and everything went all fantastically well! The nurse / midwife at the shared care facility was really nice! She had a trainee girl there with her as well, doing some bits and pieces which I really I didn't mind, taking notes - must have been a uni girl. Anyway, I wasn't poked and prodded too much which was good! I had my blood pressure taken which was excellent and I got to hear my little munchkins heart beat on the doppler there! The heartbeat was going a healthy 145bpm, and it was very re-assuring & so cute to hear! I almost thought about having a teary...and got a tad emotional for a second, not enough for anyone to see, but I thought it was really loving and comforting! (Sorry for rambling on... I couldn't put it into words!)

I was also speaking to the Midwife about the Maternal Screening tests that they have now days for any women who want them done. It is a blood test done in your 15th week (preferably) to screen for Down's Syndrome, Ancephally, & Spina Bifida. I had enquired because i was given a brochure about it and wanted to know more about it. The midwife said that 3 years ago it was only really offered to women 40 or over, but then over the years the age dropped as many other women were interested in the test. I asked her would it benefit me, to which she said that it was my choice if I wanted it to be done, as I am only 29. She said that it was only a real concern for me if I had any record of any deformities in my family and if I had any other children with problems, which I don't, so she said it was my choice, but personally she said she wouldn't bother too much in my case with it. And also because I had a previous ultrasound, where my Nuchal translucency scan was normal, she didn't feel I had much to worry about. So I don't think I will bother with the Maternal Screening test. I am having my 18 Week ultrasound on 10th Nov, so I can see more indepth then if there are any probs as well.

So there you have it, my whole visit in a few paragraphs! Am really happy with all the results! :D

Hope you are all doing well!

Cheers,

Jen.

Wow Jen that's great news  I am so happy for you, what a beautiful experience and I must say you are very stoic, I reckon I'm going to cry buckets.

I am having the NT scan and blood test on the same day (at 12 wks) - (blood test at 9am, scan at 9.30am and all results by 10am !!) apparently together they pick up 90% of downs and other stuff, it is optional but because I'm 38, and its not invassive its worth it for my sanity ;) .

Hi Kaz,

Thanks! I think I did well to hold it all together! Even though I have already had one child, I now usually turn into a complete blubbering mess with this second one!

And it's great that you are getting all of your tests done all in one and only have to wait and hour or so! That will be great for you and a huge relief!..

I wish you the very best when you go, and I am sure that everything will be fine! (Take some tissues with you!) I almost had a teary when I got my first ultrasound done as well! Seeing bubs on the screen for the first time! *L*

Goodluck!

I have to ask about 3D U/S in Japan - I asked DH and he's never heard of them...but that doesnt mean anything .

Im all alone at home pottering around doing the housework and getting ready for work...and I got to pondering???

:detective: 1) My mandatory ***** about japan first...oral hygene here is atrouscious!!! I see people with food in their teeth daily and most teeth are covered in thick yellow plaque, and the stinky breath is suffocating!!! For some reason I was thinking of this in the shower and was looking at my new citrus flavour colgate toothpaste that my friend left for me when he stayed coz he knows how much japanese toothpaste sucks!!! Anyway on the tube it says brush twice a day, now I know dentists always said that. But my parents always made me brush once a day as a child. Now I brush whenever I shower, so in winter once a day and in summer twice a day. It's damn cold here in winter...it snows you know so just you be quiet:D. Anyway what I was wondering was what do or are you going to do for your kids. How often will you brush your newborns/infants teeth. When do you start making them do it themselves, and how many times a day? If its more than what you did for them how will you get them to do it the extra amount?

:detective: 2) A real ponder this time...do you think children develop their parents (especially mothers) nervous habits. My mother bit her fingernails and I was a cronic biter!!! Bit until my fingers bled everytime, so much so the picking things up hurt. But I have finally stopped (sober for almost 2 years now). So if like me you believe children do inhert these habits - do you think its actually inherted or a learnt behaviour. Do you think my child will be a nail biter even though I've stopped (and hopefully if I can stay stopped) and they will never see it???

Kaz240
10-10-2006, 04:33 PM
hmmmm :detective: interesting. I've always brushed my teeth twice a day after breakfast and just before bed - I thought this was normal  . Will be doing the same with bubs, I figure that once they have teeth you brush and when they are old enough to hold the tooth brush you get them use to the idea of brushing... does that sound right because I'm new to this and really don't have a clue  .

Sam - Good luck with your NT scan tomorrow... let us know how it goes. BTW my brother was an Anzac Apr 25 baby, I was always so jealous that he had a public holiday for his b'day !!!

Rhiannon - congrats on your 12 week scan - "perfect" I like the sound of that !

Jo that is wonderful news Jo...

Teeth, deffinately brush AT LEAST twice a day, and floss once a day. As for bubs, when the first teeth appear, just use a cloth to wipe the teeth to start with, and give bubs a toothbrush to chew on in the bath, just to get them used to it, then when they have more teeth, you brush for them at night, let them have a go, but its important you have a go too. I let my kids do their own teeth in the morning, but at night, I make sure I have a go, to make sure their teeth are clean before bed. Now for those of you that dont know what I do for work, take a guess LOL

Hi Jeanette,

Its great you got to hear your babies heart beat! Isn't it the best thing ever, and it feels so re-assuring when you hear it. It think that's what keeps me going in a positive frame of mind, which is good! That's where we all need to be!

This saturday!!! Can't wait! if its all ok as far as the obvious signs go we will announce the pregnancy to everyone :) Only our parents and 2 friends know so far. I bet you are counting the days until Tuesday! I'm secretly hoping for twins but anything will be good

So good to hear that everyones scans have been going well :)

mamesmumma (sorry what is your name again?), imho kids do inherit stuff from their parents behaviour, my mum is a worry wart and bends over backwards for people and so do I and my sister. She's also way too giving and lets people walk all over her. My sister is the same but I made an effort to stop being like that when I was in my early 20's.

I think its a learnt behavour. If you aren't a nail biter when you kiddies are around, they probably won't be.

That reminds me, has anyone else seen that horrible ad where the kids mimic their parents? I've only seen it one, I think its a government ad, its about how your kids pick up on things and one adult is seen yelling rasicts remarks and so the kid does it too, then a woman flicks her cigarette out the window and a kid does too. I can't remember the others. It was really full on.

Just a very quick post to let everyone know that my NT scan went great today!!! There is only one baby, heartbeating at 164bpm. All looks good. It was such a great relief to see that heartbeat. It was moving around heaps, kicking its legs. Truly a fantastic sight. My dates were about right too.
Well best be going, got to go pack for our trip to Melbourne tommorow night.

Ohhhh and today my belly really popped out, overnight like bam suddenly Im pregnant. Although it is a little lopsided hahaha - I think its mame's enormous head pushing all my organs out on one side with its massiveness! If it stays this way Im gunna have to mention it at mame's 18th!!!

I just found this in regards to the stuffy noses we all have ATM............

Even though the placenta is regulating your babe’s hormones, you are still producing additional estrogen, which often causes swelling of the mucosa membranes, and leaving you with a stuffy nose—potentially throughout the duration of the pregnancy.

Angel_kisses boy am I glad to hear something like that. I have been getting the worst (huge TMI and :barf: warnings!!) brown rubbery boogers forming in my inner nose. It takes me ages to blow them out.
They are so weird I show dh:devil6:

Mummytobegain On letting it hang out, I think showing off your bump is what being preg is all about. Even if bump isn't actuly baby but huge distended tummy from constant eating (well in my case anyway:cool: ).....

Missbehave  for ms. Hope it gets better for you soon.
Oh and remember that cafe Healthy Habbits in Paddington? The place I thought it was is actuly called fiddlys or something like that. I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction??

Well I passed the 15 weeks mark, I read that the baby is now able to swallow amnotic (sp?) fluid and wee it out. mmm not so cute...
I have been sitting still heaps trying to feel the baby move too. But still nothing. I can hardly wait till it happens!

LOL Taylor, me too, it's so gross. I actually woke up with a headache this morning well before 5am :( ) because I was so congested.

Hi all .. thanks for the info regarding nasal congestion .. I too, have nasal stuffiness and also did when I was pregnant with Charlie .. "FESS" nasal spray from the chemist is really great and it is safe to use in both pregnancy and when breastfeeding .. Also I read that allergies can be heightened during pregnancy (weather aside) - as atm I have hayfever and have not had it for a few years .. Hope everyone is well .. xx

Hey Jeanette,

I haven't got my bounty bag yet either! And I don't suspect I will be getting it anytime soon, until I'm actually in Hospital having this baby! :( It's a bummer, and I'm wondering, will I get a block of choccie too? *L* Not that I'm into chocolate at all right now, but its good to save for when the need arises later!

FourAngelKisses

I don't book into the maternity ward until I'm about 7mths, so it will be a long wait for me. :( Though I'm more into lollies than chocolate right now....unless it's a pink tim tam, lol.

Hopefully you will get yours sooner.

Morning ladies

I haven't had time to read all of your messages (man you girls can talk! :p) but I just wanted to say that DF and I are off to have breakfast and then we're going to go and pick up our wedding bands and I have to drop my engagement ring in so my wedder can be altered around it (boohoo I don't want to take off my ring! ) and THEN we're going to go and have my u/s! I'm a little nervous as I can imagine is normal but I'm sure things will be OK. I can't wait to see my lil Squirt!

I have a busy day.. after the u/s DF and I have a meeting with our celebrant (I can't believe I'm getting married next saturday!) and THEN I'm going shopping with my flower girl. What a busy day!

Keep me in your thoughts for the u/s

Hello girls  ,

Well I have had two scares in the last two days. :(

Yesterday, I was sitting down at home and then had a sudden dizzy spell which came out of no where. Very scarey. Called my hubby and stayed on the phone with him (lying down on the bed) until it went away. Then I went to my GP and he checked me out and said I was okay.

Saw my ob and he said it most likely is due to my blood pressure dropping suddenly which is "not uncommon in pregnancy" he said. He said it can even happen when you are sitting down.

Today after visiting my obstetrician, I was shopping at Kmart and I was starting to feel a little unwell. When I got to the checkout, I began to get dizzy again and started dryreaching. I told the cash register lady I was feeling sick and they escorted me to a chair and got me a FREE drink. I had to wait an hour for my hubby to pick me up.

Very scarey and worrying. If it happens again, I may have to call an ambulance. It always happens when I am alone. Hubby is staying home with me tommorrow.

On a brighter note, I got to listen to my babies heart beat today at the ob's. I am was so happy to hear that sound. He felt my tummy and said the baby is "growing nicely". :D

Get to see my baby on ultrasound at 19 weeks on Nov 13. Cant wait.

Yep, MMB, I would be thinking low sugar also, maybe not diabetes, but low sugar, make sure you eat brekkie, and also carry a pack of jelly babies with you, next time it hapens, have a handful, and see if it helps, or a can of coke is great for it,too, I had it before while pregnant, and was told its just a low sugar drop.
Did your eyes have "waves"" in front of them also?

If you are hot, that makes you feel like that too. I usually take a bottle of iced water with me everywhere on hot days when I'm pregnant.

My miracle baby,

It's horrible when something like that happens when you are out somewhere. I guess all you can do is rest and have a water. I hope you are feeling better soon!

Hey my miracle baby - take care of yourself, you don't want to fall over with one of those dizzy spells.

I went to see my obstetrician today - 13 weeks and 1 day and the little heart is still beating, so I am FINALLY starting to relax! Anyway, he put me on the scales and in the 6 weeks since I last saw him, I've lost 1 kg. Odd indeed. He wasn't at all worried, in fact he said that it is probably good that I haven't gained any weight yet (I think so too, I have constant body image issues and am always swinging wildly between being a size 12 and a 14).

Anyway, the baby is the right size and all is well, so maybe I'll just be one of those lucky ones who put on a tummy and not a lot of additional weight. Yeah right, Bron, read this post again in 6 months time, I'm sure you'll laugh.

Hello everyone!

Well the ultrasound went fantastically today. Our baby is a healthy little 13 week old foetus (I was one day off) that was wriggling around the entire duration of the scan. The heart was beating a fast 152 beats per minute and when DF and I got to hear it I bawled my eyes out. It sounded like a whole heap of horses hooves galloping over wooden floor - just amazing.

Below is a photo.

What a great experience! :yelclap:

P.S. I got my final bridesmaid's outfit and I have my final dress fitting tomorrow - allelulia. :smiliedance:

That's great that things are going so well. Isn't that heartbeat amazing to hear?? I always thought it sounded like a pair of ducks flapping their wings, lol.

I had one of those crazy dreams last night. I'd gone with a friend to have her US done and they told me to jump up and they'd give me a quick look for free. Turns out I was having quads, lmao. Needless to say, I was totally decastated at the idea of going from having 3 kids to 7, LOL.

yay! all these wonderful ultrasounds! Did they let you take hubby in with you?

RE, the lowblood pressure, I am on tablets for high BP and when I got it checked last time I saw my GP, it was a perfect 120/80! Godbless pregnancy :D

MiracleBaby, sorry to hear it is effecting you, having normal bloodpressure dropping would not be nice. Just remember that its normal in pregnancy and won't hurt you or the bubs - unless you fall which hopefully you shouldn't. You are doing the right thing by sitting down until it settles. I don't know if there is much more you can do.

hi everybody. Miracle baby Im having dizzy spells as well...nowhere near as bad as yours, just when I get up or move too quickly its not nice at all, Im sorry yours are so scary!!! Hang in there.

I still cant eat much atm. Everyone is horrified by how little I am eating (even myself) there is nothing in the food I can eat either except carbs. I've started taking supplements. I keep losing weight too.

My doctors appointment is tomorrow!!! yippee. I will ask him again what I can do, but 2 weeks ago he said it doesnt matter in the 1st trimester.

The thing is I dont look any skinnier. I look fatter. My belly is popping out and everything else looks the except the boobies. :D...Where did the weight I lost come from and where is the baby's weight coming from? :detective:

And Jessie Im 13 weeks today so at my scan tomorrow mame will be at a similar stage to your bubba. Your u/s made me cry...I am sooooooo looking forward to be able to see a baby shaped picture. My last were just blobs. I am a little jealous coz I know hubby wont be allowed in. :crying:

Oh and I think I can safely say my m/s has finally taken a hike. I only have the food related illness now so thank god for that. Hopefully everyone else is at this point, or very near it!

Hey girls

Man what a roller coaster week - still getting over roxannes birthday (its so hard to run a huge event when your carrying another child in your belly!!) Now my poor baby has gotten ill with something ... for 24 hours now she has been running high temps - today at the docs she was 40.6 :crying: - they dont exactly know what is wrong with her though - they figure its some sort of virus and I have to keep trying to bring her temp down - she just wants to sleep and/or be cuddled! poor thing - and ofcourse this heat isnt helping!!!

Mymiriclebaby - Im sorry about your scare - hopefully you are feeling better!! take care of yourself!! I cant believe you're talking about 19week scans!! thats almost half way!! Im 14 weeks today and it still seems like a mile off!

Taylor- hang in there you'll feel those flutters soon enough - and when you DO, you'll relise that you've actually felt them for a while and didnt relise that it was them all along - I relised in my first pregnancy around 16weeks that I was feeling flutters - but its actually hard for your dh/dp cause when YOU start to feel them its still a while till they can be felt from the outside

Jessie - hey your photo looks sooo cool!!! Im glad you guys had a wonderful time seeing your baby. its just the BEST!

Thank-you everyone for your well wishes.

Hubby went shopping with me today, and I felt dizzy on one occasion but not as bad. I think I wont go out on my own for long periods at the moment because I don't feel safe if that makes sense.

The doc did say it was my blood pressure. The heat has not helped. I have been eating regularly and drinking well so I know it is not that.

Thanks again for your support :)

But I was pretty gassy so may have been strange feeling wind (mmm:cool: )

I am a bit worried at the moment. (I know how you must feel Belinda). I found some blood on my knickers this afternoon. Nothing else has appeared thank god.
Not sure if I should ring the ob and go in to see if everything is going ok? Or just wait and see if anything else happens before I hit the panic button?

On another subject. (we are staying at MIL's)
MIL has had a lunch party for all the naighbours and the lady from next door got so drunk on champas and :barf: all over the bathroom that dh and I use. Soo not happy as I can't stand smells at the moment. I've even started wearing oderless deoderent.
