Has anyone else had trouble with their child getting a heat rash on their bottoms from wearing drynites? DD2's rash seems to be getting worse, I guess as we get into warmer weather.
Any suggestions? solutions?

It might not be a heat rash. It could be a reaction to the pants just as easily.
DD#2 had issues with them at night, in the end we just put her in training pants with a big waterproof on the bed, and a full change of bedlinen close at hand.
You could try zinc and caster oil cream to create a barrier.
If that doesn't seem to improve it, then it could be thrush (which would also be worse with heat), so you could try Daktozin for that.

Thanks Aardvark, great advice:thumbsup:
I found DD got a heat rash/nappy rash when we used Huggies Pull-Ups while in Darwin last Christmas.
Does DD2 wear nappies/pull-ups during the day? If so, maybe letting her bottom breathe in nickers or training pants during the day might help.

Thanks mousebrown, no she only wears them at night. She's a real hot bod though - sleeps at high temperature - probably doesn't help.
Does she wet the dry-nights often during the night, or are they a 'just in case'?
Maybe it's time to start wearing her nickers to bed too. I know this might mean more washing, but it would probably help with the rash.

Thanks for your thoughts, mousebrown.
She probably wets them 5 out of 7. She's had a couple of periods of 6-8 months when she's not worn them, and we have some reasonably good patches of not wetting, but for the last few months before we were using them again, she was wetting 3 or 4 times a week. We were both getting exhausted and it was getting stressful for both of us, so I went back to the drynites. I think she is actually not waking up until after the event still, so needs a bit longer - that old hormonal thing is perhaps still not kicking in yet.

Maybe try putting her back in nappies and see if the rash goes??

That's a good thought too, angel, I'll try it if we don't get an improvement. At the moment, it seems to be settling down a bit so :fingerscrossed: ....
Thanks to all of you for your advice - great to have your opinions!
