HI guys,

I need some help/advice please.... MY ds has 4 teeth and so far this has not posed a problem with breastfeeding. For the last few days I have noticed a pinching feeling sometimes whem feeding. Took me a few times to realise what it was, then I saw the little tooth marks above my nipple  He's not biting me, but his top teeth are digging in while he sucks. It's noy every time he feeds, but seems to be becoming more frequent. I've tried taking him of then re-attaching but it makes no difference. He appears to be attaching and sucking the same as he always has. What is going on?? How do I stop it?? Also, he has just recently figured out his sipper cup... could that have anything to do wiht it??

Hi :D

I had this happen when the teeth were new too. I think he was just learning to drive them, yk? I took him off and reattached with a bigger mouthful and found that worked pretty well. It still happens occasionally now if he's really tired and doesn't want to put much effort in. So, I'm a fan of reattaching until it doesn't hurt. Good luck with it!

If your going to use a sipper cup, take the non spill flow attachment off. It's under the lid. The bubs have to bite down on the sipper cup to make break the non spill seal to get drink out of it. Bit more messy but might stop your feeding sensation. ;)

My son started biting me while breastfeeding. He got his first teeth at 4 months. I had to quit because he would bit so hard I would bleed and my nipples split. The child nurse told me to take him off, say no (really sternly), place him on th floor and then leave him a couple of minutes. Consistently do this everytime it happens. HUH! It didn't work for me, but maybe for you it might.

Good luck, hope helps...Mel.
