Well our house is not a heathly place at the moment, DH has a sore throat both DS1 and DS2 have runny noses!! But somehow other then a couple of sniffles I am fine.

But its DS2 that I am most concern about, when I got him from his cot this morning there was nice green snot with blood!! Now I remember my docotor saying a sign if its more then a viral infection is when the snot stays that yucky green all day, so far by the afternoon it is clear. But I am worried about the blood, I have notice a little bit more when wiping his nose serveral times already.

Any ideas, should I be worried? Because I am!!

As long as its not pouring out with blood I would guess its just a burst blood vessel in the nose. Both my kids and I get this from time to time from constantly blowing and wipeing out nose.

Thankyou for replying :hugs:

Naturally as always seems to happen, after I posted there was no more blood, I was still a little bit worried. At least its no longer green so I know its still viral and should go soon :fingerscrossed: . When they are this young you do tend to worry more :o

My DS1 had a particulary bad cold this winter and had blood mixed in his snot. But it was not pouring out. He had a bacterial infection but was generally very unwell at that point. As PP said probably a burst blood vessel from having a really irritated nose. A friend of mine who is a nurse also had this herself when she had a sinus infection and said not to be too worried about it.

Hope your household gets better soon.

I posted the same thing the other day because my son was doing the same thing. It only happened twice and hasnt happened since and his cold has since gone. I put it down to nose irritation because he had been sneezing all week.
