hey there.. i know what your going through.. try putting a little bit of brown sugar into some boiled water.. with my son when he got constipated .. i the clinic and doctors told me to give him approx 1/4 teaspoon brown sugar into 100mls of boiled water...
he was badly constipated though and after a couple of hours he managed a poo...
if that doesnt work then i would seek more medical advice.. There is a number that you can call should you want to speak to someone over the phone..
its called "RIVERTON" they run from the RBH childrens.. call them on(07) 3862 2333 if you are outside of brisbane the number is 1800 177 279
I hope this helps
Good Luck and let me know how you get on....:hugs:

My DS use to get constipated all the time. Coloxyl drops are good! - get them from the chemist. Or they will give you suppositrys to put up bubs bum - they work pretty quickly too! I prefer coloxyl drops though. They work quick aswell.

well i dont think it should matter... the 1800 number says for people outside of brisbane ... you can always give it a go... otherwise my next bet would be to contact a baby health clinic and they should be able to give you a contact number for something similar to Riverton closer to your home... how is it all going anyway...

he seems to be still blocked up but not as much. he strained a bit to poo before but didnt cry or anything so he is either getting used to it or he is getting better.not really sure which.

If his constipation lasts for more than a week or contains any blood or mucus take him to your GP.
My son, now nine, was constipated from 18 months until he was nearly 2 years! We went to our doctor after the first 7 days and (many over the counter products) who referred us to the hospital which really baffled me as it was just constipation everyone gets it at some time or other right! Anyways to cut a long story short, after many medical tests and being poked and prodded it turned out that he was allergic to milk protein. We had to put him on soy based products and a peadiatric laxative called parachoc, and from then on he was fine! Now days he can tollerate milk products in moderation but still suffers with the odd bout of constipation. My advice is, wait and see but if in doubt go to your GP!
