Hi,

It has been a while since I have been on here as I needed to step away from it all. We have been TTC for over 18 months now and in the last 6 months we have been through all the tests to find out what is wrong. This resulted in us seeing a uriologist (sp?) in August who told us that the only way we would be able to concieve is through IVF. This is due to DH having a low sp count and motility. He tried to lighten the situation by saying one we had finished our family we need not worry about contraception  . Let me just say that in no way lightened the situation.

So we have the referral to IVF but are not in the financial situation or emotional position to try it until at least March next year. Dh is okay with this but I can't come to terms with it as by that point it will be two years!!

So, I would like to look at natural options in the mean time. Does anyone know of a good naturopath in Sydney? Has anyone had any success through a naturopath? Does anyone know where I can source this information?:detective:

Lots of questions that I hope someone can shed some light on for me!! I was doinf well at being positive but now the hope has been stripped from me too and I need something to get me through the next 6 months without feeling like I have given up :banghead:

Has hubby tried Zinc and Tribulus??? I have heard rave reviews about it and my hubby is on them "just in case".... maybe it's worth a shot?

I haven't vivited a naturopath in Sydney but form the books I have read the specialist fertility naturopaths you want to see are Francesca Naish and Janette Roberts.
They have written some fantasticbooks such as The Natural Way To Better babies and i know they operate out of Sydney.
The details for them are:

Natural Fertility Management
The Jocelyn Centre
1/46 Grosvenor Street
Woollahra 2025
PH: 02 9369 2047

Now these details are a couple of years old but I am sure if they have changed, you'll be pointed in the right direction. Otherwise try Googling the centre or the naturopaths themselves. They are known as experts in this field so I am sure you'll be in capable hands.
All the best. :hugs:

Just wanted to add, if you can, get a hold of the book, The Natural Way to Better Babies as it is fantastic and will really help you to understand infertility a bit better.

Hi,

There may be ways of improving low sperm count & motility through taking the right supplements. I have heard that regular doses of vitamin c & e can assist as well as zinc and others too.

There's a really good book called Fertile fathers (your local library might have it) written by Ruth Sharkey. www.sharkeyshealingcentre.com.au (http://www.sharkeyshealingcentre.com.au)
My husband & I actually cancelled our 1st IVF appointment on the day because we found out we were pregnant!
Keep an open mind and it may just happen.
Also, I'd highly recommend the billings method to pinpoint exact time of ovulation. www.woomb.org (http://www.woomb.org)

Goodluck for your ttc

Thanks for the responses everyone!!

Diva n Dan - he has tried zinc but to no avail unfortunately yet. But I had not heard of Tribulus - will look into that!!

Funkychicken - wow thanks for the research that was exactly what I was after. I have heard of francesia nash before and actually do have her book. I have read so many books though now I want to go and see and talk to a real person!!

Etheral - I have fertile fathers - I bought it as soon as I found out there were issues. Thanks for inspiring me though it is good to know that natural has been successful for others.

Thanks everyone!! Off to look at the links now!!

Hi Blueshell - I feel for you, I'm in the same boat, ttc for over a year and my doc and gyno telling me I really should look at IVF. I've been going to a chinese doctor/accupuncturist in Ryde but no luck so far.....I have heard of a chinese doctor named Lily Liu in Surry Hills - website www.lilyliu.com.au (http://www.lilyliu.com.au) - she's a fertility specialist and is apparently very succesful - take hubby along too. Another friend of mine recommends a naturopath David Jivan in Kensington - apparently lots of celebs go to him, only thing is it might be a bit expensive?

Good luck, :fingerscrossed: for both of us (and everyone else ttc) :hugs:

Blueshell, I can relate to how your feeling!
I can highly recommend the Jocelyn Centre, we saw them after being told by doctor's there was nothing they could do (I had endometriosis).
After two failed IVF attempt's we fell pg naturally whilst following their eating plan and taking the vitamins and tonics specifically designed for us and our situation. Both the male and female will be looked at by them as their aim is to get the egg and the sperm at absolute peak health for conception.
If you want to chat more or have any questions, pm me anytime.

Hi Blueshell,

I can understand what you're going through because my husband also had an infertility problem. We tried to conceive for 7 years, even considered IVF however thought we would wait some more and see if nature would take its course. In that period of waiting we concentrated on what we had..each other...until I was told about Sharkey's Healing Centre in QLD. Our first step was to read her book Fertile Fathers along with her other book Natural Conception, Followed everything in those books to the letter! No more caffeine etc etc and we also wrote to Sharkey describing our situation, we received a first bottle of a special herb mixture for my husband to take every day, then we wrote to her again noting any changes, then she sent us another herb mixture, altering a few herbs, and a quarter of the way down the bottle ( the bottle is still sitting in my fridge ).....

I WAS PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am now just over 34 weeks pregnant due in November 2006.

After 7 years of trying we are finally here.....try Sharkey's Formula, I live in Melbourne and had it delivered in the post...who was to know something sent to us in the mail would give us this little MIRACLE growing inside.

I really wish you the best with all of my heart because I know the pain of not being able to conceive. HAVE HOPE! TRY Sharkey's, what have u got to lose?

God Bless You.

Thank you once again for all the advice!!

Have looked up jocelyn centre and am talking hubby into it. He doesn't want to do it until next year as we have just bought a house and move in in 61 days!! He only wants to focus on one thing at a time - typical male really!!
