my little one is 4 weeks old today, and we've had breast refusal/attachment problems from day 1...haven't been able to overcome them no matter what we tried or who we got to help us. So I've been expressing and giving her EBM via bottle for every feed.

Anyway, the point of this thread is that I've just managed to get her to latch on and have a proper breastfeed!

I'm just soooo excited! I was in tears while she was feeding (happy ones!), and I'm just so glad that I persevered.

Now onto the next feed.....:D

Such fantastic news. Good on you for not giving up and making sure your bub was getting the best possible nutrition.
When my boy attatched himself for the first time after 6 weeks of nipple sheilds and EBM bottle feeds I was so glad I never gave up. Came close a few times but my DF was extraordinarily supportive so with his help we got through it.
Congrats again!! And may your breast feeding days be long and many.

Thanks everyone! We're still going strong and I'm incredibly chuffed & proud of myself (and Abbie!). I was convinced that we'd never get it together, and even though I was prepared to keep going with the EBM, it's so much nicer and easier this way!
