Hi! I'm due to have baby no2 in December & I need to buy a new pram & car seat to accomadate (sp?) Bump & ds who will be 20 months. I'm wondering if anyone has a Phil & Teds E3 pram with toddler seat & a safe-n-sound maxi rider car seat they can give me some feedback on. These two seem to fit what we need, but i'd like to hear of any pros or cons!
Thanks
Becky

Can't help you with the pram but I have both of my kids in Maxi Rider's. I love the fact that they are anchored to the car and that they have the five point harness, but you can lose the harness when they are much older. I always thought that the foam booster seats with the ordinary seat belt was just not enough for me. You can still buy the older style ones from Babyco for a fair bit cheaper than the new style ones.

Hi

I also cannot comment on the pram, but do have a maxi-rider for my son. I found it great ... he was in it from 5 months old (he was a booffa!) and it certainly did the trick.

The only things I don't like about it is that you basically had to unattach it from the car to put it in recline and that if they fell asleep, there wasn't a lot of support for thier head and they ended up doubled over onto thier chests looking really uncomfortable and vulnerable.

My 4yo was in a babylove carseat until recently (when another friend had a baby and needed a birth onwards carseat!) and I have put both her and her brother now into a couple of half booster seats and they are so much more comfortable, higher up and really happy in them.

I love that the maxi-rider is able to be used with the harness and without ... I love the new anti-submarine belt that is fitted to the new model.

If you are happy with the maxi-rider I would say to go for it!

HI, I have done heaps of research over the last few weeks on a double pram as just had baby 2 and baby 1 is only 17 months. Phil & Teds is my preferred as I am not keen on a side by side and the tandems get heavy to push as the heavy baby is always in the front. In my research a lot of people commented on the fact thast the baby in the lower seat could stick their fingers in the wheels. Theses were comments on the net as well as from parents I stopped in the street! I contacted Phil & Teds via email and they replied saying that due to overwhelming demand and a recommendation from Choice magazine they are manufacturing wheel guards which will be available in 8 weeks or so. They were very helpful. I am waiting until then to see how they work. Hope this is helpful!!
PS have a maxi rider and it is great

Hi there, I hope I don't sound too crazy but I have two children 13 months apart and it took me 11 prams to find the best, If only I knew about these sites earlier to save me some money.....
My final pram was a Phil & Teds with toddler seat & you cannot go wrong! They were so light compared to every other pram I had and both children were extremely comfortable, & it was the most compact folding one that I had!
As for the maxi rider, again you pay big dollars for them but they are worth every cent! My children are now 3 & 4 & they have one each. We travel quite often & as soon as I know they may doze off I simply flick the bar at the bottom & then there is no concern for me thaht I have to brake softly or turn a corner slowly as their little heads stay where they are supposed too and their necks don't get that terrible whip lash from their heads falling forwards!
Sorry don't mean to babble but you have certainly picked the two best products for your children....coming from an 11 pram expert, he he.
Regards Nicola.

Hi, I have a maxi rider for my 2yo she has been in it since 18mths and its great, she loves the arm rests wich you can put up to take them out. And the cup holder is an added bonus as she can't reach the one on the door and shares her other one with her older brother. I also find having her in a half recline mode saves her from slumping over when she falls asleep. Now number 3 is getting out of her capsule in a couples of months I have another one on laybuy for her as you can use them from 8kg to 26kg so I don't need to buy a car seat and then a booster. A lot cheaper. My 3 yo is in a normal booster and I wish I had of put him in a maxi as every time we go around a corner his seat mooves.
Sorry I just have an old limo pram so I can't help you there.
I hope this helps.:smiliedance:
