Hi
I posted this in the tww IVF and then remembered there is a specific IUI thread. Oops!
So anyway ........
I had my IUI on Monday 17 October and have had one pregnyl injection Friday 21 October and due to have my last one Tuesday 25 October. I am wondering how long after my second pregnyl shot can I do a hpt?? I know pregnyl shows fake pregnancy symptoms. AF is due on Friday or Saturday and if not here I would be tempted to do a hpt. Would Sunday be too early and show a fake positive due to the drugs?
Thanks in advance
Carly

pregnyl can stay in your system for 10-14 days, it depends on how fast your body metabolises HCG but as a guide you lose 1000iu per day
I'm a HPT addict and I test to see when it leaves my system (starting about 2 days post injection) and generally for me 5000iu is gone within 4-5 days. I test before beta but I always keep in the back of my mind that a +HPT could be a false positive and wouldn't get too excited until beta.

I am also a hpt fanatic. I just did a ovulation induction cycle with pregnyl. I don't suggest you early test as from experience it was devastating to get false positive then phone call from fn. This time we got a bfp with no sneaky temptations. Was sooooo worth the wait.

Kalliope, that's a brilliant idea - testing to see when it leaves your system.

Hi Carly and mark, you wouldn't be going through fertility first would you? It sounds like your cycle is the same as ours.
Great thread. We were just wondering this ourselves as we had our last 1500iu injection on Tuesday night and I couldn't resist and got some HPT's for my DP on my way home from work. Anyway tonight we got a :bfp:!
We are so excited, but cautiously cos we know in the back of our mind that it could be a false positive.
