Hi everyone

I have just noticed that my 2 yo has a very dry flaky scalp. It is not greasy like cradle cap but sort of looks more like dandruff. I use a Johnson's no more tears shampoo. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what can you do to help it??

With thanks
Easterlily :)

I think we've been talking about this in another thread. A lot of Mums are swearing by aromababy. I got a sample myself just recently and used it last night as I noticed my dd has developed some dry patches on her head. This morning her hair is incredibly soft and it looks like the patches have gone. The other Mums were saying that J&J has a reputation for being very drying.

Hi everyone

I think a lot of posts were lost from this thread during the server maintenance but yes there was a big recommendation for aromababy products.

I was having trouble finding them at the chemist so someone gave me the website which has a list of stockist so will be trying Myer soon.

HI,

Finally found out the name of the shop - its called Equillibrium. It has lots of yummy natural things! The bottle cost me $11.40, not too bad considering you only need a tiny little bit each time and it smells great too.

The shop is on the 2nd level of Indooroopilly about the middle I think. Good luck

Thank you so much for that. I have it on order at the moment from the Stafford City Health Food Shop. They don't stock it but can order it in so am really excited. I have stopped using Johnsons and the only thing I could find was a baby product called Gaia Baby. The shampoo is quite nice but a bit soapy and difficult to wash out.

I noticed yesterday that my daughter still has the flaking so it has obviously not working. I will head over to Indooroopilly after xmas as the shopping centres are just crazy at the moment. Car park rage everywhere  .

Hi Easterlily, I didn't realise posts had gone missing! I bought the shampoo at Myer and it was $8.95 for the 125g bottle and it's hardly got a dent in it. Ive been using it everyday for about 5 weeks now. You only need to use the tiniest amount.

You can also check their website for stockists - www.aromababy.com and also order over the net (www.aromababy.com/aromababy_skincare.shtml) and also at www.babyshop.com.au

Good luck fighting those Christmas crowds!! :)

Hi everyone

My first bottle of aromababy hair cleanse arrived in at the health food shop and I got it tonight. Can't wait till bath time tomorrow night (can't believe I am saying that :o )

It says on the bottle to use with the balm for dry scalps so might get that too if the shampoo alone doesn't work. Will let you know how it works. Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread :D

Good luck Easterlily,
I hope it works for you just as well as worked for Harry. One thing I also found that helped was to brush it into their scalp after you have rubbed it in. I found this helped to spread it over the scalp so no part was left untouched. I didn't need to use the balm as the shampoo works perfectly for us.
Let us know how you go.

Hi eveyone

Thought I would give you an update. The aromababy shampoo is working well on dd hair. She still has some flaking though it is not as bad as before. I might try to get the balm to see if this might give a bit of extra help. Really love the smell, it smells like geranium or lemon can't quite place it but just lovely.

Easterlily :)

PS Vonnie you must be so happy about your daughter. It is always great to receive good news.

Hi Easterlily,

Thats sounds good that the shampoo is working. Isnt it the best when you smell your kids hair after its been washed. Yum. I should look at getting a bottle for caitlin but she hasnt really got any hair yet. :( She has really sensitive skin and comes out in excema whenever I use things in the bath so I dont really ever use much. If I do its when we might be going out to something special and I want her to smell all clean and yummy.

Vonnie,
Harry use to have ezcema when he was a tiny bub and I got rid of it by bathing him in Alpha Keri Oil and then using the Alpha Keri lotion on him after his bath. These two products worked great and now I only use the lotion, he has no need for the oil now that his skin is wondeful.
Good luck and I hope this info helps

also I found with Caitlin she had really bad craddle cap that was thick and crusty so I was told to use bicarb soda and water made into a paste. I did it and it worked a treat! You just have to rub it in for a few minutes then give it a good wash out with clean water. I did it twice and she hasnt had any more. ;) Has anybody eles done or heard of this.?

Yep Vonnie I have heard about the bi carb soda trick but never used it. I thought I would try to shampoo first and then that didn't work I would move onto this but never had to.

Hi everyone

Thought I would let you know that my daughters scalp is almost cleared up now. I found some aromababy balm so have used that with the shampoo and it has helped some much.
