I know it's early, but I need to start thinking and researching early because I'm going for a VBAC this time:thumbsup: I'm booking into the birth centre and hoping for the most natural VBAC possible.
What kind of birth are you hoping for?

Well this sure is an interesting question!
This time I plan on having a planned ceaser. With my last birth I had major problems (too many to go into) but I had to have an emergency ceaser and ended up dying on the table. They did revive me (obviously) but it was pretty stressful for my DP and I wasnt there for the birth of my son which really upsets me still.
So this way I can be in complete control of what is going on and know that I will have everyone there that I need to.
I know that people have pretty certain thoughts about planned ceasers or ceasers in general but I am too scared to go through a VBAC as I dont want to go through what happened last time.
If you want to know the details I can tell you all....just let me know and I will post a seperate thread.
But BorntobeMummy - not sure where you are located but I do know that Mitcham Private in Melbourne are really good with VBAC and the whole experience if that helps. They do water births and everything.

Michelle - that does sound traumatic :hugs: Everything will go fine this time! I hope people would respect what ever decision you make, no matter what the history, but even with just that brief outline I'd be doing what your are 100%
This is my first and to be honest the whole birth thing is really scary, I hope I don't sound imature (bit sad at 30 lol) but its such an unknown. These days you hear all the good and the bad and you just don't know what you'll get. At this stage I'm thinking I'll be going good old mainstream with what ever pain relief they offer me . . . is it true you forget a lot of the bad stuff once you have your healthy bub in your arms? Though maybe not all of it if you had such a bad time as michelle

I'm popping my head in here as I'm "due" at the end of April/beginning of May, so I'm floating a bit between April and May threads. :)
I'll be homebirthing this baby with an independent Midwife in attendance, and my partner and our son there, too. Can't wait! :D

Oh Bolli - I am soooooo much hearing you! I am 31 and am quite nervous of the whole birth thing, so maybe the older we get the less confidence we have! This morning I was reading Pregnancy and Birth mag, and walked into see DH and he said "what's wrong?". I must have looked pale and he just laughed when I told him I was reading an article on labour. It's just so impossible to predict how it will end up.
That aside, I am hoping for a vaginal birth (haven't decided about drugs); but both my sister and good friend were keen for this and ended up with emergency caesars. You know what they say about the best made plans....
Am sorry that you had such a hard time with your last labour Michelle :hugs: . I'm sure this time will go perfectly, and also help to put the bad memories of last time to rest.

Had "normal" birth with an epidural for H. Because of an incompetent cervix I have to have a cerclage put in at 14wks which is then supposed to be removed at 37wks - which normally leads to you going into labour. H decided however to not wait and I went into labour at 36wks which led to them having to remove my cerclage very quickly. It will be interesting to see what happens with this baby.
After having an emergency c/s with DS, I am having a planned c/s for #2.
My experience was not quite as bad as you Michelle (:hugs: ), but like you, I need to be in control this time, and I feel very comfortable with my decision.
I have a huge respect for those planning VBAC, but I just know it isn't for me.

I had an emergency c/s with DS and with this one I want to have a VBAC.
I am so determined unless of course there is any risk.

Bolli & Marlie... I'm scared too!!! Iknow, I know... I've done this before!!! Well it's true that you forget most of the pain once you have your beautiful bub in your arms, but in my case I have suddenly remembered since I got my BFP!
Hoping to stay home as long as possible this time... went in way too early with DD & want to be in the comfort of my own home whilst screwing my face up in pain... I think being woried about all the looks I was getting (can only remember mens faces) whilst walking around the hopsital grounds might have slowed my labour down.
Knowing my luck, I'll end up having it on the bathroom floor!!!

I am hoping for VB, the previous were both drug free as well so keeping my :fingerscrossed: for this one too, but its been a very long time between pregnancies for me.

Kristy, my hat goes off to you, you're one brave woman.
I'm hoping for a drug free VB, but yet again I have received a heads up from my clairvoyant friend who says I will end up having a c/s 2 weeks before bubs is due. So, we'll see!
