View Full Version : Hyperemesis/Taking Zofran
Hi ladies
I was wondering if anyone else is taking Zofran OR had to take it during their pregnancy?
I've been on it now since I was 10wks (i'm 19wks tomorrow) after I lost 8kgs from vomiting up everything and ended up in hospital
I'm still extremely sick all day if I don't take it but having to take 1 every day is starting to play on my mind more and more and I was wondering if anyone else took it.. were there any complications with bub?
The doctor has assured me that he has had patients use it and everything was fine.. I guess I'm just starting to get worried that if the sickness hasn't passed yet... will it ever!!!!!

Ive taken it during this pregnancy and was assured that there were no unwanted side effects. I also researched online and did not find anything medically researched or concrete. I know a lot of women who have taken it and there are no issues with their healthy babies :)
It made me feel 95% better, so I hope you get some relief taking it :)
I'm currently have been on zofran since week 6 and everything is fine. My last m/c had nothing to do with the drug.
But since I've had it for so many weeks now I've gained weight rather then of lost it and I've had no side effects. Bubs is fine and growing I'm also on 8mg twice a day. I think that's the strongest dose available.
Hope that helps and good luck!
i took it from 6wks up till delivery of DD2 and i had it more than once a day i had the maximun doses.
DD2 is a perfectly healthy 11.5mth old

Hey Hun,
I've been on Zofran since week 5, now 30 weeks. If I go off it for more than 3 days I am back in hospital getting rehydrated! The complications caused from being dehydrated and not getting enough nutrition far outweigh any risk that the drug may have. In saying that our bub is growing perfectly and due in ten weeks (yay!)
I was on 8mg three times a day until 24 weeks and then 4mg two times a day since I still have periods of vomiting on the 4mg dose but my bowels (sorry tmi) work alot better on the lower dose.
Good luck hun, and I hope it goes away soon!
