Hey,
This may sound like a weird question, Can you use water instead of milk in cake and muffin mixs?? (in desperate times when you don't have a chance to go grocery shopping!!)
I've asked a few people but nobody really knew whether or not you could...
Thanks for your replies!

One of the mixes I buy uses just water and a bit of oil. Orgran is the brand - it's a gluten free, dairy free mix (chocolate). The muffins are nice.
Haven't tried it on a regular brand

maybe try using formula or milk powder if u have any? i haven't tried it but i'm sure it would work the same way since on formula tins they say to use it in recipes for bubs and kids :chef: won't guarantee it, but i reckonit's worth a shot

Of course you can use plain water in cake mixes, I've been doing it for years and so far no one's twigged! And if you use the "Homebrand" cake mixes, you can subsitute 1 tablespoon of vinegar for the egg, no one notices the difference with that either and I save an egg! Haven't tried it with other cake mixes though.......
