I am organising a "Babywearing Flash Mob" during the Crows Nest fair on Sunday the 16th of October at 11:15 in coordination with Australia & NZ Babywearing Week.
If you are interested in participating just watch the video for some information and to learn the dance. You can use any kind of carrier as long as you and your child are safe:

You are welcome to attend an optional practice session on Friday the 14th at 11am at the Australian Institute of Performing Arts - 40 Merremburn Ave in Naremburn.
Then you can either meet us inside the Crows Nest Centre on Sunday the 16th at around 11am or simply rock up to the front of the centre at 11:15. The first 20 flash mobbers to arrive will receive a goody bag from Natural Transition. We want to make it look like we're coming from different directions (out of nowhere). The music will start at 11:20 and then we'll carve out some space amongst the fair-goers and do our dance facing the cafes.
You may decide to simply "hold the space" and join us in babywearing solidarity or to do only part of the dance - jumping in to the second chorus. Or you may just sway along to the music and have fun without being fussed about getting the "steps". At the end you leave the space as if nothing happened.
There will be an optional repeat performance in the afternoon, but the details are not yet confirmed.
Please sms me at 0406 006 204 if you intend to participate in case I have to make a last minute re-calibration of the grand plan. I hope to see you there! I am really relying on word-of-mouth to get lots of people there to raise awareness about the wonder of holding your baby close so if you could forward this to any parents you know it would be much appreciated.
This event has been organised by Kiinnect Creative Dance in association with Sydney Attachment Parenting. Australia & NZ Babywearing Week is sponsored by Babes In Arms who are giving prizes to participants and who will award a community grant to the most creative event and to the event with the most people. Our chosen charity is Australia for UNHCR - www.unrefugees.org.au (http://www.unrefugees.org.au/)
There will be a registration form to sign so that we can prove our number of participants to BIA. You can do this either before the flash mob or after - inside the centre.
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.
