View Full Version : Wanting to start family ASAP
Hello, I'm just wanting to get any advise or stories or what I can expect that I possibly can as I really feel that DH and myself are doing this on our own...
STORY SO FAR
I'm 27, had chronic endo forever, got diagnosed when I was 21 and had surgery to burn it off. (painful)
MC... :(
4 years ago stopped conceptions, no baby. (wasn't ready to come to terms with the source of the problem)
July this year my BFF for a fertility expo and booked us in. It was a great help, really informative and in depth. Got a one on one with the gyno running it and he suggested coming in to see him.
Booked in and 2 weeks after the first visit had LAP to surgically remove endo. (BESTEST THING EVER!!!! WOO HOO)
I am a new person with a life again! no more chronic pain!
Now, I know its early days but I feel like I've been waiting for ever and I just want to know...
How long has it taken other people?
Did you do IVF or GIFT or other?
Did any one else feel horrible (and like a horrible friend for feeling like this) when they heard a friend was pregnant?
Lately when I get af I get so upset... I feel like I'm on a roller coaster.
Any help is good help! Thanks in advance!:hugs:
Moni
Hi Moni,
I had a lap as well, I have PCOS but only then found out I had severe endo as well, was not a happy camper! About 2 weeks after lap I ovulated on my own and then took clomid for a few months, no joy. The PCOS has made my ovaries so heavy and swollen they are sitting so low I was told that the egg might not even be making it to the tubes! So I did IVF, and I am pregnant following my first treatment :)
You'll find the waiting and wondering is the worst part of this game. I actually found IVF more positive than anything else simply because I knew a healthy embryo was being put where it was meant to be, whereas with clomid it was a case of waiting and wondering each month. I hope you succeed without IVF though because the price is pretty high, but for me it was so worth it.
I get jealous of pregnant women, but what I found worse was the anger I felt when I came across people treating their kids like dirt or heard about it on the news, to me it's like they were given a gift and spat on it. One of my friends got pregnant in her second month of trying and while you are happy for them, you still want that for yourself as well, so I think it's perfectly normal.
It took me 2 years, but I wasn't referred to a FS straight away so that accounted for a good deal of the delay. Hopefully things will happen a lot quicker for you :)
Thanks for the reply, I'm right with you on the people not appreciating their kids. Makes me sad.
When I had the surgery I thought he was going to tel my pcoc as well as mum has it, but surprisingly no. however my left tube is damaged and when they did the dye test took a while to come through, but right side is perfect, so I'm hoping that one side is enough.
Dh is so keen to start a family and ge us great about everything, but some times I just feel like I let him down. He tells me I'm being silly though!
I think I need to think that were ttc for the first time so that way it won't feel so long, but we also have both families always asking when we will have kids, so I guess I feel a but of pressure too...
I think af is on her way and I'm bit sorry for myself today so I'll leave it at that! :D

Hi FNT51
I am off to my first FS appointment tomorrow. Long long family history of endo, and I was diagnosed with condition 6yrs ago..... No treatment yet as really didnt consider children at the time (mostly about a quick fix to the pain!).
I understand your feelings about friends/family who are pregnant (I am super over hearing about how easy it was for others who dont lead half the healthy lifestyle we do!)....
Fingers crossed for both of us.... xoxoxox:fingerscrossed:
Hey, how did you go?
I thought I asked but realised yesterday that I exited before I hit submit!
Fingers crossed! X)

Appt went well. Both of us have been sent for off for the usual testing round.
I have been booked for lap surgery (not a surprise knew it would happen) in the next month.
Nervous about the surgery but focussed on the positive outcomes. No answers right now... but at least we will work towards it!!!!! Guess it's just the waiting game now (like we all havent been doing enough of that lol).
Now its focus on stay calm.... keep breathing! Trying to reduce stress around me (work etc etc).
How are you going this week?
My second lap was way better then the first!
But I'm here for anything you need ok?
Have you had one before? And do you know if there removing anything?

:) :) thank you!! I really appreciate your support. Espec from someone who knows where I am coming from. Right back at you!!!
This is my first, avoided for a long time. There is no evidence of cysts or fibroids (woohoo!) on usounds. I think not knowing the possible outcome is the most horrible part!
How are you going??
Hi sorry to crash, just wanted to share my positive story. I have had two laps to treat endo. First was in 2007 second in 2009. I got pregnant with DD the first cycle after my 2009 lap! Then after giving birth to DD, I got AF back when she was 5 months old. No endo symptoms at all! Then this year in July, DH and I got pregnant with number two on the first try! I really hope you get a positive story too. All the best xoxo.
