Can breastfeeding effect a HPT result?

Hello,

I am now 2 weeks late, my periods are always on time, and im gettin the same symptoms i had with my DS.

Another thing is i wasnt fully breastfeeding him as he had weened and it was only once a day, but 2 days after my period was due my milk went crazy (i was almost dry before) but now it's so full ive been able to breastfeed my DS fully again (which is good) but now i'm confused as i have done 6 tests and they've all said -ve :eek: but i'm still getting all the syptoms? does anyone know much about this? or has anyone else had this problem?

I am going to the docs today to get a blood test done, i guess thats the only way ill know for sure.

I was in a similiar situation to you at the beginning of this year and it turned out I was pg - good luck with your blood test and I hope you get the answer you are looking for!;)

Just thought I would mention that when I went for the blood test it came back negative the first time yet I was pg!:confused:

Hmm, I was wondering the same thing proud_mama.
I was so certain I was preg- heaps of symptoms, but the preg test said no. I'm breastfeeding too.

well i rang this morning for my blood test results and it said -ve. But it just doesn't make any sence cause im getting all the sypmptoms? how often is a blood test wrong? is there any chance of it? im so confused because my body is telling me i am and yet the test results are saying otherwise?

Does anyone know what else could cause these symptoms:

- 15 day late period
- Nausea
- Constipation
- frequent urination
- lower back ache
- sore nipples when breastfeeding
- a big burst of acne
- milk supply suddenly increasing ( like i was only feeding DS once a day but now i can feed him all the time)

As far as i know its only pregnancy that can cause this?

As I mentioned in my first post I had a negative blood test! So that is definately possible that you still could be pregnant!;)
