I really need help. Does anyone remember the name of the book and the author which speaks about how to raise boys (I remember the author is a male)? It is a very famous one but I am hopeless with names, I never remember them.
After a hell of a weekend I think I am in a desperate need of some help from a reputable source before I either turn into a complete b...h that hates children or I end up in a secure phsychiatric ward. I don't have any guts even to vent about it. Even thinking about it makes me cry.
So, what is the name of the book? Ple-e-e-ease...

That sounds like it!!
May I also recommend any reading by Dr Michael Carr-Greg? (hopefully I spelt that right!) He's awsome. He has books about raising young boys, but (and this is totally irrelevant) has written stuff on raising teenagers, too. I plan on getting "Princess B**chface Syndrome: Raising Teenage Girls" (I think that's it) for tips on dealing with my DD! Yeah- a little ahead of time, I know- She's only 5 months old!! :D

Michael Grose has a good book too (it's my bible!) called One Step Ahead, Raising 3-12 Year Olds. It has some great techniques on how to deal with kids on all sorts of things like attention seeking, caring for property, chores, changing children's behaviour etc, etc. What I need though is how to keep my cool when you couldn't be bothered using these techniques because basically you have to be patient, persist and be consistent. Sometimes it's hard to be nice!! His website is great http://www.parentingideas.com.au and he has a fortnightly newsletter if you subscribe.
Good luck. I have two boys who are 4 (5 in November) and 2. I have sympathy...
