My DS will not have a bar of ebm if it has been frozen, he will take fresh stuff in a bottle fine and drink the whole lot.. But as soon as he tastes the one that has been frozen he will refuse the bottle..
It has only been frozen for a few weeks so still fine!
Anyone else had this?
I am working a few hours a week so has to have a milk feed while I'm gone..
What would you do?

Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong... I'm only new to this too!
EBM can only be frozen in normal freezer for 2 weeks, (12 weeks if deep freeze).
Also, I think you can add fresh EBM to frozen EBM provided the fresh stuff is less than / or equivalent to half the quantity of the frozen. So maybe you could take the frozen EBM out to thaw and add some fresh stuff, maybe that would be enough for him to take it???
Once again, you more seasoned hubbers and EBMers, please correct me if I have got it totally wrong!
Good luck!

I had this too. Wouldn't have a bar of it if it had been frozen. Sorry don't have any answers for you as I didn't find a solution :(

Can be frozen in normal freezer for 3 months, deep freeze for 6..
And for him doesn't matter how long it's been if it's frozen theres just no way he will take it..

Sometimes the taste can change when frozen. It isn't harmful in any way, but some babies like yours won't like it. You can scald the milk before freezing it which helps prevent this from happening. I don't have the proper instructions with me, but call the ABA (1800 686 268) and a counsellor will be able to tell you how.

And Babylove, the 2 weeks is if you are using a freezer compartment of a fridge, not a freezer with a separate door. As per PP it is 3 months in a normal freezer, or 6-12 months in a deep freeze (-18 deg). :)

Oops! Thanks, I just re-read the ABA site... Good to know I can keep my frozen EBM a little longer than 2 weeks (freezer with separate door).
