Hi,
My son is 5 and a half months old and is now having 2 - 3 serves of solids a day. Breakfast, Lunch and sometimes tea.
How much milk should be be drinking now? And should I be offering water in between feeds?
Thanks!

Dear Mischief,
Your little boy's intake of formula will decrease as his intake of solid foods increases. From 3 -6 months a bub should have around 120mL of formula per kilogram of body weight each day. This decreases to around 100mL /kg daily for bubs aged 6-12 months.
You can start to offer bubs drinks of cooled boiled water from 6 months. This is the time to start good habits around drinking water. Offer water in a small open cup or a spout cup (give your bub lots of help and encouragement to get cup drinking off to a good start!), and do not offer juice or other sweet drinks - even if they are diluted. This will only lead to bubs and toddlers who are likely to rufuse anything other than sweet drinks.
As your bub is nearing the 6 month mark, let him guide you as to how much formula and food he will have each day, using the above info as a guideline.
