YAY Shell, i am glad you started this, i was going to, but you beat me to it  this is the best and luckiest thread ever, i couldnt do without it.

How are you doing?

AF is over, so now we can get down to business :p and make a baby

Hi W&H, it is the luckiest thread, I agree - within 2 months of starting the last one we had 4 or 5 BFPs - so I'm thinking this new one will set off another string of them, and you, my dear, will be one of them! Great to hear AF is over - come onnnnnn O!!! :smiliedance: Did you have a nice weekend?

Things with me are a bit up and down. Had some spotting on Friday afternoon and went straight to emergency at the Women's hospital. Got checked out and Bubs is ok, but they think I may have some placenta separation, which is potentially fatal to bubs and scares the **** outta me. :fingerscrossed: the rest of the placenta holds tight and I can make it till at least 32 weeks...

Oh Shell :hugs: i really hope all is well and stays well. Did the drs say there was anything you could do to stop it being worse or anything? :hugs: :hugs:

Weekend for me was pretty dull really, although we went clothes shopping on sat, so now i have pretty much a whole new wardrobe, but i didnt really have any decent clothes before, so i really needed stuff. :yelclap:

Oh Shelle - :hugs: how scary for you!! Are you having some time off to rest? Is there anything you can do to stop it getting worse? Are you going back to see the doc very soon?

W&H - I have everything crossed for you for this month!! :fingerscrossed:

Hey Shelle, Thanks for starting a new thread. A million :hugs: to you. Did the docs mention if this is something that a lots of people have and have no probs with? I really hope so for your sake.

News on my front. Hmm well I had a really nice weekend, but here's the cycle goss. It's day something huge for me (I think 26ish?) I had dodgy temp readings for the first 3 weeks, so no clues as to what happened there. Then I had a temp dip yesterday which went back up today. So the most likely thing is I am only o'ing now. (bother long cycles, but it least AF won't come while I'm on hols, and we've bd'ed at the right time) The other option (slim but hey, you all know I am the queen of holding onto hopes with thin threads) is that my temps are all a heap lower this time because I have been sleeping under 1 blanket not 3 as per last few months, and that was a implantation dip. (nice thought - can't entirely give up on it  ) Yesterday I had cramps and could have sworn I was about to start spotting for AF, but that's probably just my mind teasing me again.

We'll miss you DjF, make sure you pop in now and again and tell us what's happening.

And more hugs for you Shelle :hugs: :hugs:

I think our new thread is a wonderful idea  Good thinking Shelle.

Thanks everyone :hugs: I was told that in 75% of cases of minor placenta separation things turn out ok... so it's just a matter of hoping that things stay stable and don't get any worse. I am on strict orders to take things easy from now on - lots of rest, no heavy lifting, only gentle exercise, no stress... I'll happily do anything to keep bubs safe, but it's gonna be a challenge, always wondering if I am doing something bad...

W&H - Hooray for your new wardrobe! I love getting new clothes. I bought my first maternity top on the weekend, but when I wore it DP told me I looked daggy  It's ok for him, he still fits into all his normal clothes!!

Hey little fish - cramps yesterday could have been O cramps? :fingerscrossed: this is it for you!!

Hey everyone.

Big hugs to you shelle. Im sure everything will be just fine.

Well I am O'ing as we speak. we BD'd on saturday, and meant to again tonight. So soon the TWW begins. urgh.

On another matter, men can be such ******** sum times. Had a fight with my DH yesterday, cos I was talking about how we could keep spice and romance into things, and he said well, you should lose some weight and i'd feel more romantic!!

In our 7 years together he has never had a problem (or said he had a problem) with my weight. Ive always been a curvy girl. I felt like he had taken my self esteem and jumped all over it until it was flat.:gloomy: He said he wants me to be more sporty. I never have been before. I dont even know ho to start. The he comes home after a few hours and acts like everthing is fine and wants to still BD. ummmmm, how bout no?

Oh Shelle - just try and take it easy then hun. :hugs: Are they going to do another scan soon and have another look? How did the move go?

Emma - I'm so sorry to hear about your argument with DH. Perhaps you should suggest to him that you both do something sporty together - ie. a nice long romantic walk on the beach together!! Men just don't think before they speak sometimes do they!! :banghead:

Little_Fish - I don't want to get you too excited but I felt like AF was coming before I got my BFP - I had loads of cramping actually!

W&H - :smiliedance: for the new wardrobe - how exciting!!

I went shopping yesterday and actually managed to have a productive day without getting too tired - I think I must be slowly starting to get my energy back. Anyway, as I'm not ready for maternity wear, I bought some nice stretchy three quarter pants (with lots of give and high waste band - should last for ages) and some tops which had a bit of room in them and still looked really nice. I needed some new clothes for my trip to Perth - but it's still going to be a little early to tell everyone as we won't have had the scan yet. I caught up with a girlfriend yesterday though and had a tight summer top on and she said I looked like she did when she was five months pg!! Now I"m worried I"m putting on too much weight so am going to start doing more exercise now.

I only have to hide my little bump from work for another week now though as then I'm off on holidays for two weeks - and then the news will be out!! Yippee!

Hello and welcome Alicia - I hope you get your BFP very soon.

Hey Julie, dont you dare exercise :shame: rest up girl. There will be plenty of time for exercising when your baby arrives. If you are having a fat day just think Ilana has put on 7 kilos  that should make you feel better. Besides pregnancy is a time to enjoy putting on weight.

Shelle, hun you rest up. If you arent up for tea tomorrow night we will all understand.

I waited for DP to calm down about the 'dinner' subject and last night gave him 3 options; Option A - He drives me to Crown and waits around somewhere until I am ready to go home. Option B - He can pay for me to stay in Melb for the night. Option C - show me how to get there on the Melways and let me go alone  Wonder what he will decide :detective:

Hi Alicia, and welcome! :hugs: Sorry to hear about the PCOS, but they can do wonderful things for it these days - so many women on these boards have had success with PCOS. Good luck with the FS appointment.

Emma, I can't believe your DH said that to you, that must have made you feel awful. Men don't think at all about the impact their words will have sometimes. :hugs:

Ilana, I vote Option B!!!

I think I am going to drop the bomb at work today. After my scary weekend, I want everyone to know not to expect me to run to court, lift heavy files or be stressed out from now on. And I was thinking on Friday night, if something should happen at this stage, I will be so devastated I will need a lot of time to recover, and everyone will have to know why. I am so nervous now!!

Hello, back from Ballarat. Had a lovely time seeing the relatives. The weather was nice too.

I am now 13 weeks today. Feeling quite good at the moment. Bought maternity bras while I was away to accomodate my growing milk machines. I still fit into most clothes, but they are getting tighter as my belly gets bigger. I think I have put on about 1kg now.

Is the outing at Automatic at Crown Casino at 6:30pm. Is that all correct? Are we having a meal or just a coffee? Will let you know by tommorrow morning if I am coming.

Hi ladies!!
I got totally lost in the old thread and I think I always managed to come in mid-convo so I gave up LOL but this is a fresh start and a new month for me, so I'll try to keep up!!
Been trying since August, and the old witch AF arrived with a vengance yesterday so we are just hoping that October is our month! need all the luck we can get, LOL..

At least AF arrives 28 days and almost to the hour after last time, so I'm hoping that means my cycle is truly back to normal for the first time in YEARS. Got to be a good sign, right??

YAY for all the BFP's the old thread saw! I hope this thread is the same!
Good luck to all us TTCers :D and Wonderful wishes to those lucky ladies with growing bubs!!

Shelle - try not to get nervous. I think you are doing the right thing - the sooner you tell them the better. Take it easy. How is the new abode?

Ilana - when I say exercise I just mean lots of walking - all good!!

Am off to get my ten week bloods today!!

Phew! Just went and told our team leader the news. Funny thing is - he didn't look surprised at all, and admitted that he had put two and two together on Friday when he noticed that I was looking "less tiny" than normal. I am in a cold sweat after that, it was nerve-wracking!

I wanted to then go and tell the female boss, but she has just gone out to a meeting :banghead: Will have to wait till after lunch to tell everyone else now.

Hey Jules, yep I remembered that you did have AF cramps, and Ilana was sure AF was coming too, but I am not too confient about it. Trying to look on the bright side for both scenarios just in case at the moment. It's weird because all my cycles since coming off the pill have been 30-35 days, mostly 34 days, and the only time I can remeber having a 6 week cycle was back doing final exams in uni and getting ready to travel overseas for the first time by myself (so extremely high stress). Last month I took vitamins for the first time and it made it into a 30 day cycle. So I thought maybe I had a vitamin definicency that was making my cycles long and this one could be shorter... maybe even 28 days.. which would make and implantation dip possible about now. But... then again my temps are looking the same as O's in previous month, and maybe my body is making up for a shorter cycle last month with giving me a longer one this month...

See this is why it's better that DH takes my temps and doesn't let me see them

Well done Shelle - gets easier the more people you tell.
As for your male boss knowing you were pg, all the guys at my work had figured out that I was pg well before any of the girls noticed. Men do sometimes take notice - amazing

Thanks Baby Dancer.

Hey Mandi, That page is one I've written, and I'm guilty of not yet automating it, so I'm afraid you have to tell me (preferably by email to TTCweb@gmail.com or by PM) when your details change, and then wait for me to get onto our home computer to update it. I do have grand plans of automating it one day, but I always find other things that I should be doing... like the washing, or TTC :)

Please let me know dates of O or AF, rather than "5 days ago" etc. Otherwise I have to use my brains and work out what date 5 days ago was...

Thanks Fishy and baby dancer i have sent through the email to you fishy.

So how many of you are pg???/

I can't wait 7 months has been a nightmare but as i keep telling myself the doctor said sometimes it takes up to 6 months for the body to get back into rythm. So im counting on that lol

Shelle i think it will get easier and easier for you to tell people.

Hey Mandi, We've been trying the same time as you (well we started at the end of Jan - close enough!) I know what you mean about getting used to it, I still get blue at the end of the month though. Next month we are going to go and talk to the docs. I just had an email from my oldest friend (I had been winging to her about how long it's taking) and she said she has two friends who both took 2 years for their first. both have healthy bubs now, one naturally, and the other after taking what sounds like clomid. but they both wish they gone to see someone earlier, just for the piece of mind and knowing there was an action plan in place.

Thanks Alaterial - you are lucky to have such a supportive GP. A lot of them just say 'relax and give it time' blah blah blah.

I definitely agree that it's good to go see someone sooner rather than later (although of course you give nature a chance for at least six months or so first). I truly wish we'd seen my chinese herbalist 12 months earlier!!

What about you shelle how is your pg going.

Hey Mandi, my pg has been a bit up and down. I had a lot of spotting in the first trimester, and that came back last Friday  I went to emergency and bubs is ok, but I have been warned to take things really easy... which makes me really anxious. I got past the high risk stage and just started to relax, and now I am back to being on edge again! Ah well...

Ilana, that is sooo exciting about your u/s! Must have been wonderful to see. My 19 week one is in 3 1/2 weeks - I can't wait!!

That's so exciting Ilana!! I felt a flutter last Thursday and have felt it a couple of times since. I keep thinking it must be just my stomach doing it's thing but it's pretty low down - although surely it would be too early?! I am getting so fat already - I have to cut down on my fat or sugar intake or something 'cos this isn't good. I'm sure everyone at work can tell. Fortunately this is the last week at work before I tell them - cos am going on holidays for two weeks and won't be back until after my scan!! I can't wait to tell everyone!!

baby dancer
02-10-2006, 16:02
Julie, I am not sure if you asked me or not but no I didnt find out the sex. DP went back in to find the u/s man to find out the sex when I went to the toilet, he says he couldnt find him, but Im not sure if I believe him or not :detective: he will let slip of he found out sooner or later.
I didnt feel anything until 15 weeks but that doesnt mean that you wont feel them earlier - I am sure I read in the due in feb thread that someone felt flutters at 10 weeks. Tell yourself it was your baby Julie, if it were me I would

shelle65
02-10-2006, 16:25

Oops forgot to answer your questions:
BB's - def still growing just not very obvious since my belly over took them  . They still hurt sometimes, more at night when I have had a bra on all day but nothing like they hurt during the first 12 weeks.

My bbs are still sore - some days they really ache! I used to be a 12B/12C and now I am a 14DD!! I've got these gorgeous maternity breas (not) to wear with my summer tops - I can see I'll be wearing a vest of something under the skimpy tops to hide them!! I was looking at these nice sleek maternity bras yesterday and said - yep I'll try those - then the assistant brought them in my size and they didn't look quite so brief anymore!! Wide straps under the arms and over the shoulders - lovely!!!

Ilana and Shelle - okay then I'll go with it being the bub. I guess if it's moving then there must be a heartbeat?

That figures. I think I'd be the same, but I am sure I'll over analyse the u/s's trying to figure it out!! DH and I both do a fair bit of image processing, so I'm sure we both convince ourselves we knew what we were looking at

They hurt for 12 weeks!!! Somehow I thought they'd hurt for 2 or maybe 3 weeks. Gee I think I'm going to learn a lot over the next few years aren't i

Hahahahaa at least I'll be used to large ugly bras already! I'm an E cup at the moment, and sooooo grateful to Berli for bringing out lacy pretty bras in my size... when I get pregnant I can just see me hiring building contractors to make me a scaffold to wheel the boosies around on!!!!

Jules16
02-10-2006, 16:45
I didn't realise they'd stop hurting at 12 weeks - what a relief!! I'm sure my big bbs must give it away if nothing else. My friends have noticed how big they are!!

02-10-2006, 16:47
My boobs didn't know whether they were coming or going - one day sore as **** the next day nothing, then sore again! They're not very sore right now (just had a good feel) and I think they haven't been for a while. They haven't grown much either  I was a 12B and am now a 14C but can still get into my 12B's if I really want to. I summed the difference up to my sister yesterday - now I'm in a soft cup non-underwire bra and I look the same as I used to in a padded push-up bra.

Fishy - not everyone's bb's hurt for 12 weeks. I hope yours dont like mine I was in agony sometimes. With the u/s pic I swear I can see something that looks willy like, but then it could be the cord or a foot or leg bone so I wont get too excited, only small :smiliedance: yippees, haha. I am convinced I am having a boy  You probably cant see that part of the pic though, that link isnt a close up really is it.

Julie - I have no doubt your baby has a heart beat, you wouldnt still be feeling sick and having sore growing bb's otherwise. And yes def needs a heart beat to move  Julie my bb's just stopped aching all day when I hit 12 weeks, they still hurt but nothing like what they were.

Julie, did you ask for an early scan, or were you happy to wait it out? I only ask because I have often read on these boards of women saying they requested an early scan for peace of mind, and their doctors refused to refer them. I think that is bull**** and bad practice by doctors, particularly in the case of women with previous miscarriage(s) - you will be paying for the scan, so what is their problem with you having one?? I could understand in the case of scans where you don't pay, because you are getting a free service when it's not justified, but it makes no difference to the private places - they will happily take your money and do a scan, so why would a doctor refuse to put an anxious woman's mind at rest? Grr, makes me mad. OK, that was my rant for the day.

I agree totally. I decided not to go for the early scan and to just wait for the 12 week scan. I hinted at wanting to find out earlier if there was a heartbeat to my ob and he said he felt confident that with all my symptoms that there was a heartbeat there. And I have a lot of faith in him so am just going with what he has told me. The m/s and achey bbs have continued so something must be happening. I know I didn't have symptoms like this last time.

What harm can that do???

How are we this morning??

Hope AF is not giving those that have it arrive much trouble and i hape af is staying away for those that donr have it yet.

I have decided to go and talk to the doctor next months and see what we can do:smiliedance:

My temps rose again this morning. That's two days in a row. proably means I O'ed on Sunday, (or ever hopeful - I Implanted on sunday and this is the triphasic bit. :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: ) either way no AF for me for a few weeks.

Great news on the lack of side effects TJ!

Just wondering if anyone else going to the Melbourne dinner tonight is as nervous as me about going to Crown Casino on my own? I am a little scared :( . My hubby is a little worried too - not that I am meeting total strangers (he knows how much I love you all), but that I am going to Crown on my own.

OMG - what am I going to wear?

So, just to confirm, it is at Automatic at 6:30pm. So who is going?

shelle65
03-10-2006, 10:25
Hey MMB,

I go to crown all the time, without any problems. There's nothing to worry about, the area we are going to is usually full of families but If you are concerned, I can meet you in the city beforehand and you can come with me, and we can walk you to your car or whatever afterwards.

My Miracle Baby
03-10-2006, 10:38
Thanks Shelle, but I think it will be easier if I went straight to Crown off the Monash Fwy rather than going into the city. I just get all nervous about going into the city on my own. You know, hoolagans, thugs and bad drivers. I especially hate driving in the city :banghead: . Got to learn someday I suppose. Hopefully I get a park close to where we are.

Cant wait to meet you all :)

MMB - there is car park right underneath the Crown where you can park all evening without any dramas. I'll be parking there too so we can walk back to the car together afterwards. There are so many people around - you will be fine.

Hey ladies. I need some advice. I just had my review with the bosses - and they happened to mention - motherhood!!! They said - oh we know it's something that you're planning (I guess probably 'cos I told them when I took the job a year ago and also they knew about the m/c in January) and so we just want to let you know that we'd like you to give us as much notice as possible 'cos you're the only one that does the conveyancing work etc. I nearly fell off my chair and thought - do I tell them? Anyway, decided to let it go and just said yep yep that's fine. Now I'm wondering if I should wait or tell them now? I was thinking that - like Shelle said - if something did happen I'd be wanting to take some time out and so they'd probably all end up finding out anyway. I feel all so self conscious now - I guess I'm a bit surprised they brought it up. I mean of course they'd get some notice - surely a bump at four months would give them at least three months' notice!!

And second dilemma - we're all off to yum cha for lunch to celebrate the first year anniversary of the firm. What am I going to eat??

Sorry for the vent!

shelle65
03-10-2006, 12:17
Julie, are you planning to take mat leave, or just resign when you leave? Either way, giving them 3 months notice seems more than sufficient to me. If you decided to leave for other reasons you would only have to give one month's notice. I guess it really comes down to the relationship you want to maintain with them. How long do you think it would take them to find a replacement for you?

Edit - and on the subject of yum cha, if it's cooked and it's hot, you can eat it! (As long as you want to eat it)

shorty_851
03-10-2006, 12:20
Lil Fish i'm excited about going to the doctors but scared in a way because i dont want to go on to fertility drugs for them not to work and then have to do other fertility treatmeant thats what scares me the most about not being preggers already.

Morganj how nuch notice did they say you have to give them. I think they will know as you will start to show and that should be enough notice for them all they have to do is train someone else up.

I hope everything goes alright with it all morganj

Jules16
03-10-2006, 12:22
I guess I'm more concerned as to whether I should tell them 'cos I'm wondering if they have sussed it out already. I would give them loads of notice anyway, and I have a good relationship with everyone here (only six of us) so like I said, they'd probably all find out anyway if things didn't work out as I'd be taking some time off. And when I refuse the wine at lunch time today that will probably raise a couple of eyebrows. I'm probably just getting worked up over nothing - am just worried that if I do tell them now I'll look stupid for telling everyone so early. What do you reckon?

emma2938
03-10-2006, 12:31
Hi Julie,

Thats a hard one, and only you can know when is the right time.

If it was me, personally I would tell them. But not for them, so they can prepare, mainly just so its one less thing on your mind, no more stressing or trying to hide. I work in a really small office, and we're all pretty tight knit, so it would be really hard to hide!

Anyway, thats jusy my humble opinion! :hugs:

shelle65
03-10-2006, 12:31
Hmm, I think it's really a personal decision. I don't think you should tell them until you are ready, regardless of whether they've sussed it out or not. If they have sussed it out then they can't complain, cos they already had the notice they wanted.

Do you trust any of the bosses to keep it a secret? If so, you could tell that one person, and say that you want to give the notice required, but don't want everyone else to know yet.

Julie, here is a link on Maternity Leave. It lets you know how much notice you must give your employer.

You must give them 10 weeks notice of when your baby is due and "at least four weeks before an employee is to commence her maternity leave, she must notify the employer of when she plans to start her maternity leave. She is also required to provide:

* a statutory declaration detailing any paternity leave applied for or taken by her spouse
* an agreement that for the period of maternity leave she will not engage in any conduct inconsistent with her contract of employment "

http://www.business.vic.gov.au/BUSVIC/STANDARD/1001/PC_50534.html

Hope this helps. You should tell them when you feel ready, not when they are ready.

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH :banghead: I have put my foot in it completely.

I left my phone with DP today because he has run out of credit with his, and Little Toad just text me asking if tonight was still on - and of course he read it and wanted to know who that was, and of course I was confused for a second and made up some lame **** story about it being my friend's flatmate and I think he is suspicious now... if he finds out about tonight I am DEAD, not just for meeting internet people, but for lying about it - I am DEAD DEAD DEAD! I can't believe I didn't think about this when leaving my phone with him, I am such a dumbarse.

Can someone text Little Toad pronto and let her know tonight is still on, and not to call or text my number cos I am such a ning nong that I left it with DP?

Hey Jules, If all your colleagues know about your miscarriage, then they will accept that you want to wait until you're safe before you tell them. I agree three months is a heap of notice to give anyone. If you gave them more notice, I am guessing they wouldn't do anything before three months before you leave anyway. But I agree with Shelle, do what you feel comfortable with, and take into account if you are planning to go back there or not.

Mandi, I know what you mean. I've always been afraid I was sterile or something. I don't want to go to the doctors and have my worst fears confirmed. But seeing all the other girls on here deal with various problems gives me a new confidence. I'll just go and do an initial look-see, no need to rush, just start the process of having other options open, other plans in place, just in case.

Hi Ladies

Just got back from lunch. I've text messaged Toad for you Shelle!! Thanks everyone for their advice. I've decided to stick to my original plan and to let work know after the scan when I return from holidays. I guess I just freaked when they mentioned it in my review - thought that was really strange.

With the yum cha I just avoided the cured beef (raw) and only had a small sip of wine and avoided the shark fin dumpling and anything else that looked too pink and wasn't hot enough. I hate eating food now that is warm but not hot hot. Amazing how fussy you become.

Thanks again ladies for all your feedback.

Hey all,
Well I have some bad news.......
This is me :barf:
I am at Dp's parents house waiting for him to finish work so I can go home. Dp didnt want me to be home alone all day while he is at work, we live about 15 minutes out of town, which is very sweet but I would much rather :barf: at home in my own house in private.
DP took me to the Dr at lunch - seems to think it is just a gastro type thing and that Junior will be fine, just need to keep up my fluids and rest....... but this means I wont be able to make it our get together tonight :gloomy:
You know what, I think knowing that makes me feel 10,000 time worse. I was so looking forward to tonight.
Anyway I feel horrendous so I will head off back to couch. I am so sorry I wont be there tonight - take pics pretty please. Can someone please pass on my apology to toady too??
Sorry again. Hopefully we can all meet up at the Baby Expo in a couple of weeks.
Love to you all

Ergh. You'll have to tie your DP down for a massage tonight. :hugs: I'm good. Trying not to listen to my body at all, cos it usually just tells me fibs, and what I want to hear, rather than the truth

Gals, can I ask... I havent had AF for years, thanks to depo and implanon. Took implant out Aug 5th, got AF a week later but it was light and brown. 25 days later - proper AF, 5 days, heavy etc. Then a perfect 28 day cycle with me getting AF on sunday. went from nothing to very heavy, v. heavy monday, lighter yesterday and completely gone today! is that normal?

shelle65
04-10-2006, 12:42
Wow, bubhub was offline for a bit, I actually got some work done

Alatariel, that sounds pretty normal to me. Everyone is different, but I have never taken the pill or any other hormonal contraception, and my AF was usually as follows - 2 days heavy, 1 day medium, 1 day light and 1 day brown spotting.

little_fish
04-10-2006, 12:45
Hey Alatarial, Yep i asked much the same question as you after a few months off the pill, I couldn't believe a normal period could be so short. I started a thread for it and the responses obviously differed for every woman, but most had only 1-2 days of heavy AF, and then a few days of tapering-spotting.

Jules16
04-10-2006, 13:05
Yeah I've managed to put a real dent in my work pile this morning too!!! What's going on with this bubhub? Well my trousers are very tight today (after that delicious desert last night) so will definitely have to go buy some work clothis this weekend. At least now that work knows I can get away with wearing more comfy clothes!! I told the other partner this morning and he's like - yeah I knew. Told the receptionist and her response was that she suspected too?! So there you go. Of course they're all happy too.

Alaterial - AF varies for everyone - sounds normal enough to me.

Shorty - I hope the back pain eases for you soon!!

Little_Fish - I have everything crossed for you for the TWW!! I hope you manage to have a nice relaxing holiday too!! I know it's easier said than done but just try and have a great time and chill out!! You so deserve it.

Thanks Jules :D :D Glad to hear you've told everybody at work and now you can relax. That's perfect.

Mandi, Implantation is for 84% of people between days 8 and 10. Check out the FAQ page on the web page in my signature for more details of percentages etc of when the HcG rises (hence when you should feel symptoms)!! (see how early should I test section at the bottom)

PS will I get to see a pic from last night girls :D pretty please?

Hi Girls,

great meeting you all last night.

Just arrived back from Melbourne. Flight delayed cause the baggage carousel got stuck.

I THINK i can feel toadlet starting to move a bit. Something is happening down there.

Goot home and DP had a card on my desk saying how well behave toadlet was this weekend. :) I think that will definitely be the easiest trip away we'll ever have together.

Little fishy,, have a fantastic trip over seas.

those who took photos last night .. email them to me: info@bizztools.net

Hello, I have been trying to log in all day with no luck :banghead:. At least I got some house cleaning done. Funny that.

Thank-you for a wonderful night last night. I had fun. Yes I did get home ok Julie, and did not get lost in the city.

Shelle, I think one of the funny parts of the night was when you came up and asked am I from bub hub. LOL  .

It was so nice to put faces to names and to actually use our real names.

With the photos of the evening, can I request that the link is not placed on the thread. That it is either pm or emailed to eachother cause I want to remain anonymous. Hope that's okay.

Well, thanks again for a great night.

Thanks for the reassurance gals!!
The reason I fret is I went on the pill at 13 because of 2-3 week periods, so its so weird to me that they can be short and normal LOL

I'm so excited now that shes over lol, I just want it to be O day hahaha. I went to Borders today with my $100 voucer I got for my b'day and sooo wanted to buy multiple pregnancy and baby books LOL.

I cant wait to go to a bubhub meet :D though I'd feel silly, not being prgenant yet and all LOL..

Alatariel - good luck with all the baby making. . Remember, focus on having fun and loving your partner, and somehow everything else seems to fall in place. Well that worked for us when we made our little jelly bean. We thought I had already ovulated, but no, we BD for fun and guess what, thats when we conceived.

Emma - All the best with your TWW. Lock up those tests and try to focus on everything else and time will fly (Well that is a plan - but we all know it doesn't work  )

Little_Fish - so happy you ovulated and got some BD in. My fingers and toes are crossed for you :fingerscrossed: .

We will definitely have another get together, I had such a good time on Tuesday, lots of laughs and it was great to be able to talk about babies and pregnancy and stuff like that with some real people!

Julie, I don't know if it suits people to come right into the middle of the city, but the one place I always think of when I think of great food is Cookie on Swanston Street. Have you been there? YUMMMMM!!

Jules16
05-10-2006, 09:50
I think I might have been there - is that a bar aswell? Like a theatre sort of set up? I've only had nibbles and beverages there - I'm keen for sure though. I remember the nibbles being very delish. Another place I've heard is good is Sapore in St Kilda. Am going to try it out for me birthday.

Yeah, there's kind of two restaurant sections at the front and a bar at the back - it's really quirky, the waiters all wear weird aprons, and they give you the bill in a children's storybook. Hello Ladies, wearing my new maternity top for the first time today. At least this top doesn't show off my belly skin. He he  .

Seeing my specialist (not an obstetrician) to get checked out today. They want to watch me more carefully while I am pregnant. Lucky me.

Couldn't resist letting my little babies (dogs) into the house today when it started raining. I am trying to avoid that all the time as baby is on the way (don't want them to associate baby with being put outside) but I couldn't resist. Oops!

I must be in the second trimester now cause I have the energy to clean the house again. Hmmm. This is odd.

Good luck to all who are waiting (TWW) or who are TTC (and acting like rabbits). I must admit, the waiting doesn't stop once you get pregnant. This whole TTC and pregnancy thing is one big WAITING game. Grrhh. I have my fingers crossed for you all :fingerscrossed: .

MMB - all the best with your appointment. What a horrid day after such a glorious day yesterday.

Toad - am I right in thinking it was you who said you were going to buy a Phil & Ted Jogger? Did you get it yet? I saw one on the street the other day with the toddler seat attached and really liked the design of it.

Well I was good last night and did a water aerobics class - not that I'm slowly starting to get some energy back. Unfortunately I can hardly stay awake today though.

Little_Toad
05-10-2006, 15:55
MorganJ, I probably will get the phil and teds.

Someone is giving us an Emuuljunga pram with bassinet which I'll use for the first 5 months ish. ALSO! one important factor to getting a phil and teds is..... will DP let me have 2 toadlets!! I'm sure I'll find that out within 5 months of toadlet #1.

Jules16
05-10-2006, 16:09
I got an sms from a friend this morning telling me her friend is moving back to the UK on the weekend and is getting rid of a pram and bassinette for $50 each and that they are both in good condition (I trust my friend's judgment). She couldn't tell me brands or anything but the pram is a three wheeler so hopefully it's a Phil & Ted. Even if it isn't it will see us through until we decide we need something better I'm sure - which I thik will be the Phil & Ted. I just love the style of the toddler seat on it.

I just went to the toilet and noticed I have a very small amount of brown spotting happening. Am also noticing a bit of a pulling feeling in my stomach. I am a bit worried now. I just phoned the doc and his assistant said she can arrange an u/s urgently for me if that will put my mind at rest. DH is away until tomorrow night though so am not sure what to do. Perhaps I'll see if it continues and decide in the morning. Perhaps I'll get one Monday morning for peace of mind before I fly out to Perth. Hi Everyone,

I'm new and thought I would like to join in and get some tips and hints!! Have been ttc for 13 months and counting....Does it ever happen?!? A friend suggested trying Maybe Baby so I've been reading up about it. Anyone tried it? Sounds too good to be true.

Having a hard time at the moment:gloomy: , tried everything, doc says nothing wrong with either of us, so frustrating. And then today the visit from AF topped it off! I would love to hear some positive stories and outcomes of TTC#1 if anyone would like to share. Thanks heaps

Oh Julie :hugs: :hugs: :hugs: I'm so sorry you are having spotting. Please please please try not to stress too much, I know you can't help it though. Just remember that many people have spotting and it doesn't mean the end, so until you know one way or the other it is not over. I would definitely go for the u/s to reassure yourself, and maybe blood tests over a couple of days to check if HCG is rising? Thinking of you hun :hugs:

So when he lands in the morning I will talk to him about the u/s and see what he says. I think I've pretty much decided I'll get one done tomorrow though. It will just be good to know all is okay before we go to Perth. Am a bit annoyed at my ob now for not having a look while we were at the appt - it seems that everyone else's ob has a check. Well ladies I have an u/s booked for 1.00 pm and am absolutely petrified. Am trying to stay calm. I told my boss that I'd a little scare and will need to see my doctor at lunch time (I told him this by phone this morning). He just came in and said something stupd like - have you got the moz on you or something (he knows about m/c) - and I said - what does that mean? And he said you know are your cursed? I could not believe he said that. I nearly burst into tears on the spot. I just said - please don't say that!! He said I'm just trying to lighten the situation.

Jules16

Toad - I had a little bit of spotting when I got up but don't have any now - but I seem to have managed to get myself quite worked up about it for some reason - I think the fact that dh has been away hasn't helped as I've been stuck at home on my own. I've decided to have the u/s for peace of mind for our trip to Perth next week. I am very nervous about it though. And this is supposed to be an exciting time!!

A big welcome to

Deb and Pippi

Welcome to our frienly little thread. We have had much success on this thread. Quite a number of us are now pregnant. All the best with your TTC journey.

Pippi - I used Maybe Baby to help us conceive, plus charting my temperature. Both methods helped me to learn more about my own cycles so that we got to work at the correct time of the month. A highly recommended website which most of us use around here is www.fertilityfriend.com. It helps you chart your cycles. You can join for free or pay around $20 for 90 days for VIP features. Worth every cent!

Deb- we are quite the little talkers. So, you better visit frequently to keep up. I went away for a week recently and it took me ages to catch up. Welcome again :)

So I use Fertilityfriend but dont temp, just add in CM, AF, BD etc, so i dont expect it to actually be too accurate, but I'm CD6 and AF finished yesterday (just the tiniest bit of spotting, she really stopped the day before) and i put in my CM today and it gave me a big green square!
I hardly believe that I might actually be having a fertile day this early, but in the spirit of baby making (and also coz its such darn fun!) I'm going to BD every day this month til at least CD20 haha.

hello everyone, i'm a lurker coming out from the shadows...

this is my first month of TTC (naturally). i'm pretty excited and can't wait until the period does or does not come (they've ALWAYS been like clockwork).

one question -and its a bit graphic - its normal to feel sperm coming out of you after sex isnt it and this wouldnt affect fertility surely, - i assume there's so many of sperm in on ejaculate that some would have to get in.

sorry, i hope everyone is not eating their lunch.

i'm being a bit impatient and I know that people rarely have success in their first month so i'm not getting my hopes up.

anyway thanks and hello again to everyone here.

Hi Everyone,

Ok, so i went out and purchased my maybe baby stick and i'm start tomorrow! Feels wierd to be trying to do some active again about TTC#1. Had to tell myself to relax and try and forget about it for a couple of months back in June because I was going crazy. You all know what I mean, getting upset and spending a small fortune on pregnancy tests! So now that I've come on here I feel I'm ready to be positive and not too crazy about taking some new steps. Actully feeling really excited :smiliedance:

TJ- best of luck with your FS app hope it went well.:fingerscrossed:

Welcome Snake Eater, sounds normal too me, what goes up must come down! but i think most of whats important finds its way in.

So i'm off to read the instructions so I can get it right!

Alatariel

Snake eater- perfectly normal. As Pippi says, what goes in must come out! and sperm are only a part of what goes in, the rest of the semen is there to assist the sperm in moving and lubricate etc. Think of it like the big jet engines of a space rocket falling off once the rocket has been pushed out of the atmosphere! once it gets the wigglers pointed in the right direction, it just leaks out :D This is why women have had to 'sleep in the wet patch' through the ages LOL.

Hello ladies,

I am 14 weeks pregnant today :yelclap: . Gee my belly is really showing. Going to see obstetrician on Thursday and will be having blood tests for Downs Syndrome etc.

Pippi - if you have any questions about Maybe Baby, just ask cause a few of us have used it before, including me.

Lilith - Glad you had a lovely holiday. Good luck this cycle :fingerscrossed:

Julie - hope you are recovering well :hugs:

Emma - Good luck with your move and testing on Sunday. Hope the move goes smoothly with no hiccups.

Wishingandhoping - all the best with catching the egg!

Snake eater - Welcome! Put your hips up on a pillow after the deed. It worked for us. It looks rather funny but hey, any trick helps.

Little_Toad - hello. Hoping you are well and business is booming :)

Alatariel - you crack me up!

How long did you use it before you got your BFP? Do you think it is worth using?

thanks girls :)

Pippi - hope the maybe baby goes well for you! I have always been keen to buy one but havent got around to it just yet, and while i dont O on my own theres no real point for me i suppose.

MMB - yay on being 14 weeks, must be a great relief to be past the "safe point".

Snake - glad you can join us, hope you get your BFP very very soon!!

Llith - glad you had a great holiday, good to see you back babe.

W&H - go and jump on that hubby of yours now with all that EWCM!!

I have also posted this in my TTC diary, but will post here as well
Well my feeling about the 100mg of Clomid not doing anything was spot on! No folicles, not even a little one!
So basically i was not responsive to this round of Clomid.
My FS wasnt overly surprised or concerned, he said when you have PCOS no cycle is ever the same and ill react differently each time.
I was soo cut and soo upset when he said there wasnt any folicles at all, i almost got teary, was trying hard not to.
BUT.... then he said, "its not over yet" and i was like why??
he said i can have a round of FSH injections for the next 5 days which is basically the heavy duty version of clomid.
If the clomid didnt work, then this should do the trick.
I have to give my self an injection in the belly every moening for the next 4 days (did the first one this morning while i was there) its similar to a diabetes injection.
And i have to go back on friday morning - bright and early this time 6.45am
and have another scan and see if it worked and if the folices are there waiting.
If so then ill prob be back in on Monday for the 2nd go at IUI.

SO while im still in with a chance, im going to stay positive, well try to anyway!!

Oh by the way - cant wait to see all the photos from the dinner!!!

Lilith

Congrats MMB on the 14 week mark :yelclap: hope it is all going well for you.

TJ - sorry it wasn't all good news yesterday for you :fingerscrossed: these injections do the trick and there's better news on Friday

Pippi - I use a Maybe Baby - I find it better than OPKs as I would often get negs and knew I had O'd from my charts.

Emma - I think I'll be testing Sunday too :fingerscrossed: for both of us.

No signs or anything I can get paranoid about though and my three temps I've taken aren't showing a great pregnancy trend so I guess I'll be off to the GP for a FS referral in the next few weeks.

Have a good day all.

Morning girls.

lilith welcome back from your holiday. Fingers crossed you have a lovely relaxed and fertile body now. (or already pregnant)!

W&H... keep up the lovin'!

MMB, well done on the 14 weeks. I exoect your tummy is bigger than mine. I have only grown a teeny bit. My cimbing parnter said i I don't start producing a visible tummy soon, he'll think I've made the whole thing up!

TJ, you're very brave to be giving yourself injections. be patient for those little eggies, The perfect one is just around the corner. How is the clomid effecting your moods?

Welcome Pippi. I used Ovulite (simiilar to Mayybe Baby). I had ferning when I ovulated sometimes but not others. They can be very temperamental. If you are low in eastrogen it wont show any ferning. My cyycle I got pg, I didn't get any ferning. The cycle before I did.
Soo some women find them very useful.. but dont rely on them completely. Best method is to go by your CM. Then use the temperature to confirm yo have ovulated. (not to predict it).

Julie, how are you feeling? Have you got yourself a nice dress for the wedding? Are you going to stay in perth for a few days extra?

Work wise Dp has told me we need to sit down and do a Toad Action plan for my business. Within about 4 weeks I should be finishhed doing two big web sites and from then on I'll just be concentration on my calculator business. Try and get two more calculators developed/upgraded by December so when toadlet comes along, for three months all I'll have to worry about is setting up new clients.
YEAH!! no more crappy web design!

How are all the other PG girls preparing work wise?

W&H - Dont stop bd'ing ;)
Pippi - Hello and welcome.
MMB - 14 weeks wow, time is flying isnt it. Have you felt any movements yet?
Julie - Hope you and Ben are doing ok, thinking of you both :hugs:
Toady - Work wise, I am trying not to think about going back to work at all. I am leaving my job in January - not taking mat leave. Obvioulsy I will have to work again eventually but I hope to be able to do something part time and work around dp's hours to avoid child care fees. Also I want to concerntrate on my study so that rules out full time work.

The injections are fine, they dont hurt, to be honest you can hardly feel anything, a mozzie bite hurts more, put it that way!
I found the clomid didnt really effect my moods at all really. Well certainly not this time around anyway, i didnt get anything.
I cant remember if it did last month, id have to go b ack and read my diary, but i think it was just the headaches last time.

Toady - your new belly shot should be coming up soon shouldnt it??

12-10-2006, 15:48
Hello girls  ,

Well I have had two scares in the last two days. :(

Yesterday, I was sitting down at home and then had a sudden dizzy spell which came out of no where. Very scarey. Called my hubby and stayed on the phone with him (lying down on the bed) until it went away. Then I went to my GP and he checked me out and said I was okay.

Saw my ob and he said it most likely is due to my blood pressure dropping suddenly which is "not uncommon in pregnancy" he said. He said it can even happen when you are sitting down.

Today after visiting my obstetrician, I was shopping at Kmart and I was starting to feel a little unwell. When I got to the checkout, I began to get dizzy again and started dryreaching. I told the cash register lady I was feeling sick and they escorted me to a chair and got me a FREE drink. I had to wait an hour for my hubby to pick me up.

Very scarey and worrying. If it happens again, I may have to call an ambulance. It always happens when I am alone. Hubby is staying home with me tommorrow.

On a brighter note, I got to listen to my babies heart beat today at the ob's. I am was so happy to hear that sound. He felt my tummy and said the baby is "growing nicely". :D

Best of luck to those testing and those trying to catch the eggie.
