Well mummas of August babies, I guess its up to me to start the new thread!!

Hope you all had a great weekend!!

:hugs: to Emily, we are thinking of you, your DH, BIL and all the family. I can only imagine how rough this past week has been. :hugs:

I had a great weekend, DD had a great time at her swimming lesson. Then she and Dh had some special daddy & daughter time, while I had lunch with a friend and saw ':devil6: devil wears prada'. On Sunday, DD, DH & I went to the daisy hill koala centre and then for a little bushwalk in the daisy hill forest which was lots of fun!!DH has left today for Townsville, he'll be back on Friday afternoon, DD and I will miss him:crying: .

For those mums whose bubs are walking....do they still crawl? DD will walk up to 10 metres of so, but if she wants to get there quickly or she thinks its further she will still crawl. Just wondered when walkers stopped crawling?

Also, wanted to ask, have you weaned your babies off dummies/bottles? DD still has a dummy when she goes to bed, but doesn't wake up if it falls out. In the last week I've stopped preparing bottles of milk for DD when I'm at work and my mum is looking after her. At home she has water/milk either via a cup or a straw.

My final question is: what activities do you do with bubs to keep them occupied during the day? I'm interested to hear what you do and need some suggestions!

Have a great day everyone!!

:smiliedance: Welcome to the new thread!!!

Z - Ethan never had a dummy and I still give him a bottle with his milk as it is quicker for him to drink than the cup. Plus we still have a cuddle when he is having a bottle. Also he likes to take a swig from his cup and then throws it as far as he can :devil6: and I don't want milk splattered throughout the house/car. So sorry, no help from me.

Also Ethan still crawls every now and then. With regard to activities, well there isn't much time left after he sleeps for about 3 hours and we fit in meals and get groceries and do other stuff. We have our morning where we go walking and he zooms along the beachfront in the pram and our playgroup day. I've found it easier to take him to the playgrounds now that he is walking. We have a good one near us and it is shaded and fenced and have lots of nice sand to dig.

We used to go to the indoor playcentre at the shops, but haven't been for a while now. We are making the most of the parks before it gets to hot.

When we are at home all day, I've noticed that we play in different rooms at different times of the day - I suppose it depends on what I'm doing too. He has different toys that "live" in particular rooms so he doesn't play with the same things all day and get bored with them. A lot of the mums in my baby group have packed away toys and only bring out a few at a time and swap them every couple of days. Or they have 4 toy boxes:eek: and swap them every week.

I think I will get into activities when he drops back to one sleep during the day. (Not that I'm in a rush for that!!)

Hi guys! I see that the Sept girls have already outdone us in the new threads!!
I've updated about BIL again in General and I don't really feel like repeating it.

Missing DF terribly, even though it's only been since Friday, and he works so much usually anyway. But I still see him each day, even if it's only for a little bit. It's times like these that you realise how much you love someone. (Along the same lines, does anyone know how MOTR is doing?).

Tatum is enjoying sleeping with me each night. The past couple of nights we've slept on the sofa bed which is in the loungeroom. Seeing as it's school holies, we've watched TV til 9:30pm-ish then gone to sleep (I've been so tired the past few days that I'm crashing). The bed dips into the middle so Tatum usually ends up rolling into the middle during the night and I have to try and stick to the edge, kind of uncomfortable:D , but alot of fun!

Z - Maia had a dummy for about 2 wks then I got sick of it. I never used one with Tatum, either. She's still bf, but with food she has one of those tommy tippee no spill bottles that I find pretty useful. She can drink out of a cup if I hold onto it, but I think I'm probably a bit lazy. I'm pretty sure Tatum was already drinking out of a cup by this age.
As for activities, we read alot of books (Maia turns the pages, and kisses alot of things in the books!). She likes to spend alot of time outside playing with a bucket of water or with the pegs/basket. Our backyard consists of concrete and a teeny tiny flowerbed full of nasturtiums, so it's not overly baby friendly.
Like Len said, between sleeps and feeds I don't find alot of time for 'activities' other than what i've already said.

MOTR - I sincerely hope everything is going ok with you and your family atm.:hugs: Make sure you surrond yourself with plenty of support.

Well, our brand spankin' new thread sure is looking spiffy! Though somehow i feel sad to leave our old one....so many milestones in there....:( Anyhoo, many more to be posted in here i guess!

I haven't read back through the old thread yet since i've been away, so i'll catch up when i get home. Mums computer is dial up and very slow, so i haven't been surfing much this week (much to my distress).

Emily, i haven't read about your BIL yet, but my thought re with you guys :hugs: . Sounds like you have the comfort you need with Tatum (isn't it funny how they hog the bed though! LOL).

Len & Z, i won't write a big reply as i'll see you wednesday and have a chat! So excited! :smiliedance:

Charlee is starting to want to let go of things and try and walk already, but with little success yet, LOL, she just falls on her bum after a step. In small spaces she kind of lunges forward to get across as quick as she can, it's so funny! She's getting there though!

Anyhow, i'll see if i can get on here tomorrow, i get frustrated waiting for a whole minute for a page to load! LOL Cya!

MOTR was going overseas for work... So hopefully she is having a great time. We prob won't hear from her until next year. MOTR we miss you!!!

But... I wanna hear from Caz!!! Caz what have you been up to lately???? ;)

02-10-2006, 18:16
I thought MOTR was moving to SA to be near her family until DH came home from Timor, but I could be wrong!!

I think we all know why Caz hasn't been to this thread for a while;) !! Its fantastic news for her, and who knows it could be the start of a new baby boom for the August mummies.....Len you could be next!!:p

:fingerscrossed: We will be TTC #2 later this month!!

Z - Re MOTR, I thought the same thing aswell. She was talking about it a couple of wks ago, thinking about moving back to be close to relies.
As for a baby boom, I'll keep my legs crossed thanks:D

Shazbutt - isn't it funny how when you're used to broadband, waiting for something for 30sec-1min seems to take FOREVER!!! Our plan slows down to dialup speed if we go over our download amount, usually end of the month. Sooooo frustrating!

I think I saw Caz somewhere on BH, can't remember where though:confused:

I've just pm'd razzle to ask if our achievements thread can be made a sticky, otherwise I think they 'disappear' after 30 days or something (I think?).

In a way this kind of sounds dumb, but I guess this is what BH is here for, to voice our thoughts no matter how ridiculous(!!), but after talking to DF tonight I'm feeling slightly jealous that he is back in SA. Each night he's caught up with friends, which I know is giving him support etc, but it still makes me feel annoyed. Should I feel guilty? Hmmm, kind of in a way as it's not like he flew over there to see them, and he's not with his bro 24 hrs/day so he's got to do something the rest of the time. But on the other hand I don't feel guilt as I really miss my friends and family. Oh well, there's not much I can really do about it.

Good idea about the sticky Emily!!

I understand how you feel about DH being away and you being at home. I remember feeling the same way once, when DH had to go to a funeral back home. Even though i knew he had to go, he partied away afterwards for a couple of days with friends, and i was at home by myself with Kenz. Its understandable to feel jealous i think....we mothers give up alot for our kids really (to stay home etc)!

Thought I'd let you all know I've organised flights for the girls and I to fly back to SA next Tues for a wk. DF would like us to be there now, and we miss out Daddy!
So I'll still be around for a bit, but you'll all have to post extra for me next wk!!

Hi everyone

Sorry I haven't been around much, the other thread was starting to give me headache everytime I tried catching up with what you were all up to.

Gremily - I hope your BIL is getting better. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

Aidan is doing well. We've had the gastro bug here for the last week and somehow he's managed not to catch anything (knock on wood). He's not eating aswell I thought he would be at this age but i'm soldiering on with that. He's crawling everywhere now, I can't seem to slow him down.

We went swimming the other day, he saw a girl and went up to her and tried to kiss her. So very cute.

Well as some of you know, Len and zenifa, I got a BFP on my HPT yesterday. I've done 3 and they've all come back with the same result, positive. I had my blood test today and i'll get the results back tomorrow morning. I'll let you all know as soon as I know something

Hope everyone is well and all the August '05 bubs are doing well

Caz - I know ur trying to conceive but what do BFP and HPT mean (I don't go in the TTC threads so I'm not up with that lingo)?
And kissing a girl already!!:D Watch out girls!

Re going back to SA - We were planning to go back end of Nov for good friends wedding and hopefully stay til Xmas, but I can't see that happening now, as it's cost the girls and I just over $600 return. So I plan on catching up with my grandparents, relies and friends while we're back there.
My Grandma has slowing been going into dementia and has finally arrived in forgetfulland over the past few mths! My parents visited them today and she'd forgotten they were going overseas tommorow. Every couple of minutes she kept saying "Make sure you have a good time". She's also forgotten that Grandpa is meant to be on a special diet, so everytime they go shopping she tells him what food he's allowed to buy then forgets when they get to the shop:D . While it's a pain for those around her I'm sure she's fine as she has no recollection.

Gremily - BFP (Big fat positive) and HPT (home pregnancy test)!! I think its great that you and the girls are going to SA next week to be with DH and the family. Hope your family continue to stay strong and that BIL continues to improve!!
This is the second night DH has been away and we (DD & I ) miss him already!! We've got quite a bit of family in SA too (DH's side) and my outlaws are there at the moment for DH's grandfather's 90th b'day.

Caz - :fingerscrossed: the blood test comes back with the result you want......which seems likely after 3 HPTs. You had better watch out, Aidan looks like he is already a ladies man

My 8yo niece is over for a visit & sleepover, and we have done some baking tonight:chef: - she's having a tea party with her friends and made cupcakes and she also made some apple muffins for my get together tomorrow with Len and Shazbutt......will report back tomorrow afternoon!! Should be fun :smiliedance:

Good night all!!

Hi everyone

Well got the results.....

They're inconclusive  There isn't enough of the HCG hormone to say that I am but there is a trace of the hormone to say that I might be. I'm going for another test on Monday and i'll let you all know then

Have a good day everyone

:fingerscrossed: for a BFP Caz! After 3 tests you'd think so!

Gremily, i didn't know what all those abbreviations meant until i looked in the TTC threads once! LOL They're all so confusing!

Z & Len, thankyou for today, it was great! Your bubs are gorgeous, and it was so cool to see how each of them have developed. Sorry about me being such a disorganised woman :o, i'm normally better when coming from home, but when i'm at mums, we all get frazzled....god knows how i grew up and survived in this house.... LOL Anyhow, i'll let you guys know when i'm over next!

Hello to everyone else!

Hi everyone!!

Sorry Caz to hear your blood test was inconclusive, how frustrating!! :fingerscrossed: You get a result after your next test on Monday!!

Shazbutt & Len, thanks for a great day today, it was a great choice of venue, and it was fantastic to meet you both and your kids are just gorgeous!! They are even cuter than the photos/avatars!! Speaking of which, how disorganised was I? I bought all this food (as you saw, my DD is a greedy little pig  , devouring muffins, fruit and biscuits for morning tea) but forgot my camera :banghead: Can't wait for you guys to post some piccies from today!! Hopefully we can meet up again, next time you are visiting your family!!

DD slept in the car on the way home (over an hour) and now after a late lunch has decided to have another little cat nap (yes some bubhub time for mummy :p).

Hey Z, i'll email you some pics when i get home ok? Hey, i normally forget my camera, its a fluke i had it today! LOL

Charlee slept nearly all the way home, and so did Kenzie (after she polished off her happy meal  ). I think Charlee's eye tooth has to be coming through, she's done 3 more poos since i left, and 1 this morning....all yucky and burny. :fingerscrossed: it comes through soon.

Emily, i'd love to meet you too, one day hopefully it'll happen huh!

Today is clean up the house day:rolleyes: . Tatum and I have been, hmmmm lets see, QUITE a bit lazy when it comes to cleanliness over the past week! I have piles of clothes that need to be folded, a couple loads of dishes (thank god I have Man called Fisher and Paykel who does it for me:D ), and their are toys galore that should probably be at least piled together. Tatum has gone to a friends house but will be cleaning her room over the next couple of days so she can at least get in there. There is a path to her bed but no access to anything else!
She and I have been sleeping in the loungeroom on the sofa bed so the loungeroom looks atrocious.
And, yes, I am wasting time by being on BH!
I've had to put the stinkiest grosest rubbish out (DF's 'job' usually, unless it doesn't stink:D ) and gathered all the recycling. One load of dishes are washing and the hallway is no longer crowded with junk mail.

Okay, off I go!

Well I can't believe our thread is gone... Sorry I have been lazy i have been everywhere else on bubhub and not in my fav thread...

So gremily I am glad your going to visit friends and family I hope you have lots of fun and not too many sad days......

Caz~ Ihope that you get that BFP I think you will as pregnancy test usually don't give false positives well not 3...

Shazbutt~ What you being away from bubhub, omg!!! Glad charlee is off now you will be kept on the ball..

Daylan has completely stopped crawling he runs everywhere to now.. I have noticed my 2 playing chassy it is such a funny wobbly run but sad he doesn't crawl in a way!!

Well I ma getting sooo clucky and all these TTC women are making me soo enviuos.. However I have to get myself in order as I don't want to be the size I am and also don't want to waste the gym money I am paying out!!! I have 10mnths to go before I will be trying so I hope I get there by then!!!

Angelbaby8 - are you wanting another bub? You're game:D . We haven't officially decided whether we'll have another. We don't want another right now but we haven't actually said no more. We'll see.

I got a fair bit of cleaning done. Majority of clothes folded and put away. Dishes done. Recycling done aswell as stinky garbage! The loungeroom's not so bad, but with the sofa bed out there's not much room left for anything else. Now all that's left is to tackle Tatum's room:eek: , hopefully we can get that done today while Maia's sleeping.

Tatum is really missing DF. She's over tired and the past couple of arvo's I've become very frustrated with her. I don't get angry very often, so if I ever raise my voice she gets really upset. So each time she's got upset she gets even more upset because she wants daddad. I would NOT like to be a single mum.

Can you believe I've organised haircuts for Tatum and I while we're back in SA?! She and I have only had our hair cut once while we've lived here (1 1/2yrs). The hairdresser we went to back in SA was great and we'd been going there for at least 8-9 yrs. I'd been telling Tatum she needed her hair cut as it gets sooo knotty and she has trouble brushing underneath (1/2 way down her back), so I suddenly thought today we might as well both do it while we're back there:thumbsup: . I figure I'm due for a cut, thinking about going back to short so Maia will stop pulling my hair, but then I can't put it in a ponytail for Netball (annoying) and maybe she wouldn't recognise me:eek: ! I'll probably decide while I'm sitting in the chair just before she cuts my hair.

Hi everyone!! Hope you are all happy and well.

Hmmm I wonder when Len will have her pc fixed.... its been a while since she's been on here!!

Shazbutt - no worries about the pictures, I totally understand there is no rush!! Gosh I hope that Charlee's eye tooth has come out and there haven't been too many more of those yucky burning poos :barf: Hope you had a safe journey back home today !!

Angelbaby8 - so you are thinking of #3 next year hey? I too wanted to lose weight before TTC, but haven't managed it yet, I love chocolate too much and am not that keen on exercise LOL!!

Emily - yes I hope we can meet you too one day!! You really put me to shame with all of your domestic efforts!! DD is having a nap, and I should be doing housework, but I've been a little accident prone, so I'm just taking it easy.
I worked yesterday, did the grocery shopping and just watched DVDs with a friend last night. Today I met up with another friend and her bub at our new toy library (its moved and now has a cafe/play centre etc) which was lots of fun. I treated DD to a toy (wooden fish castanets) which she loves. I also did some shopping for DD who needs more summer clothes.

Anyway, when I came home I put our wheelie bin away, and fell over  going to collect it off our curb (our driveway is very very steep), I hurt my ankle, aggravating my Anzac day injury :o , but luckily none of my neighbours saw me stack it!! Then when I got inside and I was cutting all the tags of DD's clothes, I sliced my thumb with the scissors :banghead: ouch!! Lots of blood, but I'm okay now. I was going to wash/vacuum the car, but as the driveway is too steep and I've already injured myself, I might just make DH a welcome home dinner and do a little general tidy up instead of my grand housecleaning plans!! Anway enough of my ramble!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!!! I'm going to try to stay out of trouble, being such a clutz today LOL!!

gremily
06-10-2006, 19:13
Zenifa - LOL:laughing: My domestic efforts are few and far between! Tatum and I started cleaning her room today, but I think it's going to be another day or so before it's finished.
Sounds like you definetly had one of those klutzy days, lets hope everything works out fine tomorrow for you!

Tatum had the BIGGEST hissy fit this arvo, something she very rarely does. In fact, I honestly can't remember the last time she cried and screamed and yelled so much. It started off as something little, but once she was told to go to her room and sit on her bed, well, all hell broke loose! I let her cry it out until she starts to calm down, plus sometimes I have a hard time keeping a straight face:D . Everything is fine now, she's tired and is missing DF.

MMMmmmhhhh how do you keep a straight face.. I laugh and always get caught from dd and she yells no laughing mummy and that just sets me off!!

About our little bubba's how are the tanties going anyones bubs started??!! Well Daylan has diggles diggles "no daylan, no wiggles" followed by his head thrown backwards screaming at the same time heavy weight etc.. Bah boo (boobie) "no Daylan I just fed you (10 mins earlier mind you) head flung back screaming BAH BOO!!!! I hope it's just the terrible 2's early or maybe he is learning from Atahlia!!!

Anyway still trying to post everything I hope everyone is well

Oh DH is off to hosipital in a week so I will have the 2 on my own the sad thing is Daylan does not sleep through if he did I wouldn't care... Daylan wakes 3 times a night and for no reason so I hope he stops before next week other wise I will be doing it all on my own!

Shazbutt - I envy you and your brand new computer GRRRRR!:devil6: Although we've got broadband so it's fast, the laptop's U has fallen off and our hands aren't tiny enough to put the fiddly thing back on, plus the harddrive's almost full which can make things interesting sometimes.

Angelbaby8 - I saw your thread last night about your DH. Maia's been waking up heaps the past few nights, and even though DF doesn't help out much at night when he is here (he works so much so just crashes), just having him here for support is what I miss.

As for Maia having tanties, even though she doesn't talk yet she still has them! She'll crawl over to the back screendoor and rock back and forth banging her head against the door crying to be taken outside.
The same with the bathroom, if she goes to crawl in there and I close the door she gets upset. Or she'll stand at the bath on her tippee toes wanting to get in.
Oh, and when we're outside she can now climb up the steps, but the first one is a little higher so she can't quite get up it by herself, so she gets upset until someone comes and helps her.

This morning Tatum decided she wanted to sweep the loungeroom, kitchen and bathroom. Then she asked if she could mop them aswell. . I think she's caught the cleaning bug from my mum, but it must skip a generation:laughing: . So she mopped the kitchen, then decided to take a break so I ended up doing the rest. She'll get something for helping out though.

Hello. I havnt been on for a while and cant be bothered just yet to read through the posts, only read the last few.
Elijah also throws little tanties and they're getting worse! He mainly just slowly drops down and lies on the floor crying. They dont last long, about a minute max. He's definately beccoming more aware of his wants but is usually pretty good most of the time and will move on without a fuss when we say no.
angelbaby8- Daylan is such a good talker, just had to say that!
My mum bought Elijah a ABC cloth book thing that i've hung in his room that have pockets for each letter with a thing inside and hes now learnt where the fish and the dog are but hes not interested in the other ones. I think he likes them ones because he can sort of say fish and woof. He dosent seem to want to learn any new words but is very squeely!! Not much has been happening so thats it from me. I have got into reading which is why im not often on anymore; it's just finding time for the both.

Gremily~ When are you leaving for your week away?? Sorry to hear you won't be going back at chrissy... Yes we have Daylan having tanties over going outside as well oh and the darn toilet... When he is brushing his teeth which is every 5 mins coz he likes the tooth brush he went into the toilet and put all our brushes in the toilet and brushed his teeth with the water:barf: ... So needless to say we all got brand new tooth brushes, which I might add cost me a fortune nearly $5 each tooth brush for the kids...... Ours we just buy cheap ones 2 for $2...

Angelbaby8 - we leave on Tuesday, back on Wednesday the following week. Tatum is really excited this time about going on a plane.
Last yr we drove to SA for xmas. When Df had to come back for work (drove back with his dad), the girls and I stayed another week. We flew back and even though Tatum had flown before, she was really scared. I think there'd been a few crashes on tv that she'd seen. She spent the first 20 mins with her hands over her eyes, I think it progressed slowly to holding onto the chair arms. She took a quick peek out of the window, but otherwise didn't really look around. By the end of it (2 hrs) she was fine. Maia basically slept the whole time, had a couple of feeds, and didn't get upset until we had landed and had to wait on the tarmac for 5 mins! Not sure what it'll be like this time.

Ewwwwwww, toilet teeth:laughing: . Maia has a thing for the loo aswell, always trying to chew on the bowl/seat etc.

Morning girls,

Well, today i feel a bit better....a bit blocked up, but at least my nose isn't running like a tap....yet :fingerscrossed: .

Had a good nights sleep last night, and woke to Trev going this morning at 3.30am. I heard Mackenzie shouting out the window as he went out the driveway:
'bye dad, see you tomorrow when you get home!' (he doesn't get home til friday),
'bye squirt (the dog),
'bye dad'

It was so sweet! Then she asked sweetly if she could come sleep with me and proceeded to tell me our sheets smelled like napisan, and that she dribbled when she slept. For 3/4 of an hour she babbled away! Anyhoo, Charlee then woke me at 5.45, and hasn't been to sleep since....and Kenzie is STILL asleep!

Charlee has tanties too don't you worry! She sits at the back door and bangs her head on it if i don't take her out with me, she sits at the bathroom door if i shut it on her, and stands at the shower and pulls her leg up trying to get in and plays peekaboo with the shower curtain (which ends with a soaked baby and floor  ).

She loves the toilet brush, so its now in the bathroom cabinet and the bin in there also.....

Her eye tooth is just there, but won't come through, so we're still in the land of 4-5 poos a day and screaming non stop. I sure hope it comes through soon.....

Our trip away was really good, we went to thje beach for the first time, and Mackenzie hated the surf. Charlee wasn't fussed. They LOVED the sand though, so they sat for 2 hours making castles with Charlee destroying all Kenz's hard work  .

Ok, better go, i just heard movement from the bedroom....Later!

Oh yeah, i forgot to say have good trip! (If you can with everything going on down there :( ). I don't mind packing to go away, but HATE the unpacking and washing when you get home! I still have stuff unpacked from when i got home Friday!

Charlee had a nap at about 8.00 this morning 'til 8.45, and is now having another since 11am! Kenz is out in the pool, so i have a bit of peace to get started on my cards for the card swap.

Well what a day we had yesterday! DH woke feeling very sore and itchy (his dermatitis) he was all infected.. I had my appointment with pre admissions for my gallbladder to be removed and they went right through the whole procedure.. Needless to say I was very scarred by the end of it all. So apparently I have to wait 30-90 days even though I am terrified 30days would be good! I have too much on..
I spoke to the surgeon who is doing the surgery and can I say I am even more worried as she looked like she was in need of a really good sleep (maybe she was on drugs)!!!!

So we left that hospital only to go to another hospital for DH. He was that bad they admitted him right then and there so I am now at home all on my lonesome... Although last night SIL came over after netball at 11pm and stayed for a cuppa and chat so that was good!! I got both kids asleep by 8.30 I was so happy... Although at 3am I was not too thrilled when Daylan decided it's morning time.. I just growled go back to sleep and it worked:D

So up at 6am and exhausted but thats what you do right??!!

I have been very busy sewing my dd's sequins on for her end of year costume, I love doing fiddly crafty stuff!! I can't believe I was that bored without DH that I spring cleaned the kitchen and vacuumed at 10.40pm...

So todays agenda is playgroup then hospital (which is about 25min drive without traffic) I hope by the time we get to hospital daylan and atahlia go to sleep and not in the car that way they wake an hour later happy not grumpy!!

Gremily- Have a great trip and I hope the kids enjoy themselfs..

Shazbutt- You dd is such a cutie and your eldest looks so sweet... You made me laugh about chatting at 3 in the morning your dd and mine have a lot in common!!! I hope your over the cold!!!

Well gotta fly I have to pack the bags yet for the long day ahead!!

I'm officially pregnant :smiliedance: I'm due 3rd June 2007, so that makes me 6 weeks.

angelbaby8 - I hope you and DH get better soon. I had a laugh when you siad that you vacuumed at 10.40pm. I sometimes feel motivated to do things like that at the strangest hour, but I don't want to wake DF and DS so I don't do it.

Shazbutt - How cute is Mackenzie saying good-bye to daddy like that

Hi  EVERYONE!!!!

Yeah I'm still here!!! I get the posts emailed to me and I check them on DP's work computer every couple of days, but he doesn't give me the time to chat on bh.... (He's gone to the gym atm and I've just burnt the dinner - got distracted with catching up on the posts.)

My pc is totally stuffed now and we will need a new one.

:smiliedance: Congrats Caz!!!! Hopefully I'll be joining you soon...

Those pics are cute Shazbutt. I've saved them.

Anyway, I'd better go and see what I can rescue of the dinner... My Thai green curry is now brown... yucky....

CONGRATULATIONS CAZ!!
I hope you have a very happy and uneventful 7 1/2 months!

Angalbaby, what a day/night you had! When it rains it pours doesn't it?! I hope your DH is feeling a bit better. Also that you don't have to wait too long for your op. I am still all blocked up, had to go shopping today but wished i could have stayed home and slept when Charlee did (Kenzie went to daycare). Ah well....

Kenzie....sweet? Thats a laugh! No, most of the time she's good, but look out when she's having one of her bad days! LOL I'm glad you find it funny about her chatting in the early hours...i didn't, LOL! Just kidding....

Hi Len, you're back....well, kind of....but it's better than nothing at least! I hope you can get a new computer soon so you can rejoin us full time! And don't worry, I frequently forget about dinner etc when on the hub....thank god DH isn't home through the week! :D

Fingers crossed that you & Z can join Caz in the 'incubation' process soon! LOL

Kenzie slept in her own bed last night....well, until 2.30 am when she woke up. I let her in the lounge then, as Charlee had taken ages to go down, and i didn't want her woken too. I rearranged their room so Kenzie's bed is closer to the door and can see us in the lounge, and it worked then....but i don't think it's going to tonight : ( . She's already saying she doesn't want to. Oh well, another idea down the drain probably, but we'll try.

Charlee's tooth is still not through, though she was happier today. She's started pointing at everything as we're walking down the street and babbling away in her gibberish. Too cute.

:smiliedance: Congratulations Caz!!!
Best of luck with your pregnancy!! Woohoo!! You are the first of our group to have the next baby!! What a joy to have it finally confirmed!! Hope you are feeling great, how exciting!!!

Angelbaby8 - hope that you don't have to wait too long for your op and hopefully your DH is feeling better too!! :hugs: to you, sounds like you have a rough few days since I've last been on BH.

Oh!! I missed Emily, hopefully she'll have a great trip to SA and enjoy spending time with friends and family and I'm sure she and the girls will be so happy to see DF again!!! I don't envy her coming back and trying to catch up on posts. I was away for 4 days (w/end and working Mon/Tues) and I'm still trying to read the five pages of posts!!

Shazbutt - hope you are feeling better soon!! Happy to hear that Charlee is better. Here's hoping that Kenz will sleep in her own room a bit longer tonight. Hang in there, you are doing a great job!!

Len - don't worry, I think many of us have had cooking disasters whilst on bubhub....I know I have.... if you are anything like me you get caught reading/replying to a post, you lose track of time and the food is either stuck to the pot/pan, burnt or boiled over....LOL:chef: !! Glad to have you back, even if its briefly, hopefully you'll get a new pc soon!!

I don't really have much news to report.... DH got back from T'ville on Friday and we had a pretty quiet weekend which was great. I've been working the last two days and that is pretty boring really. Only five more weeks of this locum to go, after tomorrow, and then we go on holidays to Noosa, so I'm looking forward to that. My inlaws get back from SA this weekend and its BIL's b'day so we'll be busy celebrating that towards the end of the week. My mum has been a bit ill lately, with high BP, so I've been quite worried about her......and its another reason why I'm glad my locum is ending soon, as it will take the pressure off her a bit, as currently she looks after DD 2 days/week, but 3 while MIL is away. She loves looking after DD, but I just want her to rest and get better.

DD has been getting up the last three nights for a bf, not sure if she is teething, as she won't let me see inside her mouth. Its only once/night and she goes back to sleep after a feed, but the time varies from 11.30pm til 4am!! Hope this isn't the start of a bad habit, but at that time of night, I am too tired to fight her with a soothe/resettle/water.

Woah....:ecomcity: what a long post, happy reading everyone!!

CONGRATULATIONS CAZ I hope the morning sickness isn't too bad!! SO soo you will be posting in 2 different birth groups, thats if you have time!!

So gremily has gone lucky thing, I can't wait until our holidays!! Zenifa I have been wondering what happened to you and then after reading your post I remembered, gee I hate mummy brain.. Noosa I am soooooo jelous!!

Shazbutt I know how you fell when you have 2 when one wakes you don't want to disturb the other!! Well if you notice the time I have only just got my ND and NS to sleep (the N is for naughty)!!

Well I left DH at 7pm so I could get the kids fed and to bed by 8 pm and instead Daylan refused to go to sleep and then just as he drifted DD came in and woke him up so I told her to go and he started drifting when my DH rang and Daylan sat up and started doing the panting pointing telling me go and get the phone....... So I rushed out abused my husband for waking him up and turned around and daylan was in the lounge!! Yes he climbs of our bed...:banghead: So then I just started again but he still wouldn't sleep so came out to check DD and she was in the FLOUR, DRINKING CHOCOLATE and COKE!! Apparently making a cake but I'm not laughing anymore because she does this every single time I put daylan to sleep!!! So I went back and tryed with daylan again and just growled at him when I heard a knock and it was my SIL........ So I went to answer the door and they were laughing because they heard me growl:o .. Daylan got himself up and I gave up!!!

Then I spilt my coffee all over me and the couch, the kids tipped coke all over the floor, I washed a drink bottle for dd and the water sprayed all over me and the floor, then spilt milk on the floor trying to fill the bloomin bottle!!:banghead:

Anyway I finally got them to sleep at 11.15pm which is very late because usually Daylan can't stay up longer than 8.30pm.. So I am exhausted and by 11pm I was close to tears as I have only been getting 4 hours good sleep a night and travelling back and forths has taken it's toll on me!! However when daylan finally went to sleep and as he was drifting he was cuddling me with a cute smile awww all is forgiven, came out to the lounge and dd was snorring on the chair such a sweetie!!! Shazbutt and gremily you will understand these days a bit better but CAZ your on your way to these wonderful days of life with two!!!!

On a happier note I finally found DS a pair of shoes that fit him!! I have got him 5 pairs of shoes that will not go over his fat feet!!! So I got him a pair of thomas sandals (they only cost $11, bargain) and they fitted him as the velcro ripped of all the way down to the toes!! Would you believe size 7 and they fit perfectly!! He loves them and has only fallen a couple of times today with them!!

Well I must go and get a bit of sleep befaore my wonderful kids get me up...

zENIFA Daylan is still having a feed at 3 or 4ish every morning, he sits up and say bahboo thats what he calls it so I have to feed him!!

Hello strangers! I hav'nt read all the posts but i figure it will take me just far too long so i wont bother. Dial up sucks!!
Congrats Caz on your pregnancy. Hope it all goes smoothly.
angelbaby8- Size 7 shoes!! Wow, i was thinking Elijah had huge feet and his are almost size 5. What a night you had, i would have been ripping my hair out!
I'll send out some sleepy vibes to all the littlies that need them! Dont hate me but Elijah has been sleeping great. I dropped his sleep to just one during the day last weekend and yesterday he slept from 12-3.30pm then 6.30pm-8.30am and hes been so much easier since we dropped the other sleep. But the last couple of mornings his nappy has been overflowing with poo - GROSE!! I dont know if maybe were feeding him too much or teething or what but i hope it dosent last.
My parents arrive in 2wks from NZ for 5days before they do their world trip so im starting to get quite excited. Me and DH are going to go have another holiday there in March probaly. We were thinking of going to Canada but after thinking on it for a while weve decided that it'll be much better to save the big trips till Elijah's a bit older.
Well i better head off because ive got a wax appt very soon so to the torture chamber it is. I hate pain!

WOO HOO!!!!

Computer is fixed!!!

DP broke it worse than me - he bent a few cpu pins and then burnt it out and his fingers whilst trying to put in a new hard drive...

Anyway... I'm back!! Hi  Everyone...

We took E to his first swimming lesson today - he screamed nearly the whole time... but so did the other bubs.

We also have just managed to get E his first pair of shoes. Like Daylan nothing will go over his fat feet. We nearly got the Thomas ones, size 6 were the only ones to fit, but my folks just got back from Maylasia and brought a few pairs back with them and some of them were made of this really light foam material and they fit really well - for now. They also got another pair that squeek when he takes a step, but they are just a bit too small - but oh so cute!!

Well, I've got a lot of catching up to do so I'll be back later....

Its been very quiet here lately!! Wonder where you all are?
Work and busy weekends are cutting into my BH time.
DH and I went out to dinner with BIL & his gf (for BIL's b'day) on Friday night, it was lovely, a night without DD!! I got in the pool for DD's swimming lesson on Saturday which was lots of fun :p and DH took some pics (will try to update my avatar). On Sunday we went to the multicultural festival and DD enjoyed seeing lots of different people, hearing different music and seeing traditional dances and she saw her first puppet show which she loved:yelclap: !! Then we had a family dinner.
Now that DD has been walking for a few weeks, she decided to stop crawling:smiliedance: . Its amazing to see how clever she is and how quickly she learns. At our inlaws place, she placed with a Shape-O for the first time and got all the shapes in all by herself, first time!! I was impressed!!

Hope all is going well for you all and that you come back to update us soon:wave: .

Well my 2 are in bed again so I thought I would catch up again.. Well the week has been better than last although dh had to have a hydrcortisone injection for his dermatitis as it had gone into really bad blisters called dyshrodic ezcema and it was painful.. I managed to make heaps of playdough for the kids and playgroup Daylan doesn't eat it at all he just plays with it..

I have been doing all our house work early in the morning and my deal with hubby is he has to clean the kids mess at night while I wash the dishes (he can't wash with his hands like that)... So much easier now... As I really don't want to pick another toy up by 9pm as I have already done it a million times in the day!! I don't like when kids are not allowed to play where they want with the toys, but I do understand why parents only have toys in the rooms:yes: ..

My little man is so cute babbles all day to us we get babaabbabadgedhsas WIGGLES or asjhdeufjdhueri Payskool and how cute is this Iwanango CAR - this is while he is standing at the car or front door everytime he says the same thing and sounds like I wannago to the car but all sounds but CAR is as clear as day!!:yelclap:
He is my very clever little boy.

Although I was at the point last week that if I heard wiggles one more time I was going to go insane!!!!

Daylan is driving me nuts with the climbing and changing the channels he climbs onto the coffee table and then stands to reach the buttons on the tv unit!1 Everytime he just laughs so hard I have taken the chairs away, calmly told him no, FIRMLY told him no, YELLED at him, picked him up and taken him into the other romm saying no, and I am at my wits end!!!!!!!! It's so darn annoying your watching a show and next minute your not and he does it to the kids tv so then I have atahlia screaming all day!!!

Well I might go and read my new magazines:p and make a cuppa!!

Zenifa- Wow she can do the shape sorta thats excellent.. I must admit it is soooo cute when they make those milestones and as a mummy it makes you sooo very proud.. It's great that she is walking and I bet you like the fact that her tights pants don't get filthy especially with light pinks and whites!! I remember it well...

How cute do our kids look in summer clothes, I love the dresses and short sets.. Too cute

I would love to go swimming with my 2 but it's hard with 2 and your hubby can't go into chlorine and my bod just doesn't look great in togs (oohh thats the queenslander in me)!!

HELLO!!!
I'm back and just finished reading all the posts, now I've got to try and remember what I wanted to write about them all.

Caz - I was so excited to read your post that you were pregnant, but now i've got to your last post and all I can do is :hugs: . I've only ever had 1 miscarriage (a yr before Maia), at 12 wks, and it was one of the worst experiences i've ever been through - what a rollercoaster of emotions. I had no idea, at the time, how common they are though, 1 in 4 pregnancies are miscarried. So it's nice to know you're not alone, but it's still heartbreaking to go through.

Angelbaby8 - Sounds like your life's got back to normal now after going through a bit of a rough trot! I always ignore the phone, knocks at the door, etc when I'm trying to get Maia to sleep, but it annoys the bejesus out of me!
I desperately want to go for a swim, but like you I need new bathers (swimmers, togs, etc!). I need an underwire top (NOT bikini's) otherwise my boobs are likely to poke out down the bottom of them:D

Shazbutt - are you feeling better yet? Maia's got a slight cold (runny nose) the past couple of days. She's teething again aswell, so it might be something to do with that. She got another tooth through yesterday, and I can see another trying to come through.

Len - YEAH for the computer! I can just imagine you didn't peel yourself away for ages.

Zenifa - I love going to festivals, especially multicultural festivals. Some of the music is fantastic. The more music, a wide range of music, children are exposed to the better.

I can't remember if that's everything I was thinking about, but it's going to have to do.

So, about the past week. It was great to get back to SA, be with DF again (the girls loved it) and spend time with BIL in ICCU. It's times like these you realise what's important in life and what really just doesn't matter.
Inlaws are renting a cabin at a caravan park 10 min walk from Flinders Hosp. We stayed there 2 nights, but stayed at my parents house with my bro the rest of the time (my parents are away on their trip of a lifetime to Africa, Greek Isles and Colorado for 6 wks). We missed seeing them by only a few days, grrrr! So everyday we drove down to Adelaide (3/4 hr drive) and now Maia is sooooo unbelieveably sick of driving! Everytime we put her in the car she gets upset, but as soon as we stop she gets extremely excited. She's also way out of her routine, her day sleeps mixed up and terrible at night aswell (I'll hopefully get it all straighten out over the next few days).
FIL has stayed at the cabin every night (except when we did) and by BIL's side just about every waking moment. He's writing a journal about everything (thoughts, emotions, what's happening) and has written 80 odd pages so far. He's asked if I can type it up for him and save it to cd (I feel very privelaged that he's allowed me to see it and his innermost thoughts).
MIL on the otherhand just doesn't want to stay there, has maybe only a few nights, but prefers to drive back home 80kms and spend time with her friends gossiping about what happening. DF is NOT happy about her at all.
Everyone is being really positive about BIL. I'll update my thread in general, that way I don't have to repeat myself.
DF is going to come home in a wk and I cannot wait.
We caught up with a few friends and family, but what with being with BIL everyday it was hard to fit it all in. Not really what I'd call a holiday. But, I was sooo glad to get back to the country for a bit, (despite the millions of flies), smell the fresh air, drive in very little traffic, see trees everywhere, big backyards and lay on beautiful grass. I watered mum's plants for 1/2 hr and it was so rejuvinating (I love gardening, but don't really get the change with a concrete yard:rolleyes: ).

Anyway, I'm tired and I think this post is big enough for now. I'm do some more tomorrow.

Hi everyone!!

Welcome back Gremily!! Thanks for your update. I am so glad you and the girls had a good time with DF in SA, seeing BIL, the inlaws and some friends and family. I hope the next week goes quickly for you, and soon you'll be with DF again:yes: . Also I hope that Maia gets back into her routine soon, as it can be unsettling for you too.

Angelbaby8 - I've got a two piece (underwired), that looks like a one-piece (tank top/bikini bottoms) and it would look much better if I lost some weight, if I do, then I can treat myself to new 'togs'!! I guess at the swimming lessons I'm so focused on DD, that I don't even care what the other parents think
It was funny reading the things that Daylan does that drive you nuts. DD is obsessed with remotes and always does stuff that I didn't even know you could do and then find it hard to fix!! Also she is crazy about phones (cordless/mobile) and will have a little tantrum if you try to take it off her (once she gets her way she has a cheeky grin :devil6: and I feel manipulated, so I'm working on that, as I know there is more to come). She's just discovered that she can reach the alarm clock on DH's bedside table and change the alarm clock time and tune.

Shazbutt and Len haven't been here for a while.
Come on ladies!! Those September mummies have double the number of posts!!!

Oh gremily

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and hugs, they've definitely helped me. Plus Aidan has been wonderful, giving me lots of hugs and kisses.

I would write more but i'm supposed to be packing for my trip to Melbourne and as usual i'm procrastinating (sp?)(aka Bubhubbing  ) I'm so looking forward to it. Ok ok...don't get your knickers in a knot, i'm here! :D I just haven't felt like posting much for a while. Not many milestones or anything to tell you guys about.

Emily, welcome back! I'll have to go catch up on your BIL thread....It's always nice to go back 'home' isn't it (be nicer if it were better circumstances though huh?). I feel that way when i go over to mums.

I'm feeling better now, just a few days of blocked up snotty nose. It was actually more hayfever than sinus this time, and i finally found something that works on it, so i'm glad!

Z - i had body issues (fine with clothes on, but not in togs or nude, LOL), and i can't believe that when i was at mums, i went to Noosa and bought a gorgeous tankini top (just the top, not pants too), and paid $125! I have never EVER paid that much for any piece of clothing, let alone just a tog top! But it's beautiful and gives me boobs, and holds the little tum in, so money well spent (my C-Card didn't think so though, and i didn't dare tell DH!). I just wear boardies on the bottom. Now i can comfortably go to the pool with my little ones.

Angelbaby, yeah, i've been posting in the easy going threads which don't need much thinking or a big reply. When i come in here, i feel bad if i forget to reply to anyone, so i always take ages and go back through and make sure.

Caz, its good to hear you're feeling a bit better. I hope you enjoy your trip to Melbourne....retail therapy is good for the soul (well, that's me excuse and i'm sticking to it, LOL)! And sisters are wonderful to have around, especially at times like this. Have fun....

Still no walking here, she's taking it slowly. She now stands at the TV and points to things and giggles. So cute. She is finally starting to use a straw...slowly, but has also learnt to spit it back out of her mouth. So she takes a big sucks then dribbles it everywhere , not happy jan....

Anyhoo, i will TRY to get back into here later. Sorry about going AWOL. LOL

If i've missed anyone, sorry....

Caz - My thoughts are with you, big hugs!! Your weekend away sounds great.

Gremily - Thoughts are also with you and your family. I too love getting out in the country. Im from NZ so you could be in the city one minute but 10mins later be surronded by forrest, farms, lakes, etc. However, in Perth theres nowhere to go and its all so dry! Love the beach and weather here though!

Angelbaby - Elijah loves remotes and phones too but he knows he's not allowed them and when he gets busted with them he comes and hands it to you looking either really innocent or laughing.

Not much happening here. Elijah's getting fast on his feet but sometimes a little bit too fast and trips. He's also a climber and can now climb on our bed and loves to playfight or bounce on it with either me or DH. He makes monkey noises and its so cute.

I also need new togs but want to wait a little bit till i lose a couple of kilos.

Thats it from me. xx

Hey... I'm still here... I visit this thread AT LEAST 3 times a day! I've got nothing useful to add.

I should get on here a bit more. I bought 4 things on ebay last night because I was bored. (Nearly was 7 things. Eeek!)

I was feeling a bit sorry for myself that I'm still not preg and I know the timing was exactly right this cycle... :banghead: Then I think I should just get over it. There are much worse things going on in this world than that!! (Hey Caz & Gremily!!) And a friend of mine had to terminate her pregnancy today :crying: due to abnormalities so that has made me feel really sad.

But on a brighter note, DP gets home tomorrow night from Perth - even if it is at midnight.

Ethan is starting to get curls. (So cute.) DP will want to cut them off when he gets home... Nooooo!

As for togs - I need new ones too. (Not that I'll be getting some... recently DP got a speeding ticket and lost his very expensive sunglasses!)
I bought some new swimmers last Xmas and haven't even worn them yet and since then I've lost about 10 kg and I tried them on last week and the shorts just fell off me. I can't even breath out to hold them up. LOL!!! As for the top - don't get me started on looking like a surfboard!!! HA!

Hi Len , that's why i bought a nicely padded, hidden support tank top! No way would i go in togs without some sort of padding! Even when i was in my teens and wearing string bikinis, i wore a padded top....:D Having kids gave me slightly bigger boobies, but now they're a tad droopy! I can't win! LOL

I need underwire otherwise my boobs don't stay where they're meant to:laughing: I went to get fitted for a new sports bra a few mths back the lady scoffed when I told her what I thought I was (14DD), but in the end I was a 12DD-E:eek:, so she ate her words! Most ppl don't realise how big I am, I think coz they sag and really just don't have any 'plumpness' to them anymore:rolleyes: , but, hey, I guess that's what happens when you bf!
I always get tankini's, you'll NEVER EVER EVER see me in a bikini (unless they invent some magical cure for stretchmarks and excess skin!).

Len, you must be excited about your DP coming home (even if it is in the middle of the night!).

Hi everyone!!

Caz, Hope you have a great weekend, spending time with your sister and getting some retail therapy sounds great!!

Shazbutt, Emily and Len - please don't get me started on my boobs. Although I love bf DD and don't regret it for a moment, its a shame my once perky DDs are now the same size but a bit more droopy (I need the underwire and support now more than ever, but can't due to still bf :banghead: ). I wonder does it get worse if you bf two babies?

Len - how exciting, having DH coming home tonight, I bet you and Ethan have missed him lots!! :hugs: and good luck with TTC!! Try not to let it get you down, you just have to keep trying :fingerscrossed: Speaking of which, I had my Mirena IUD out yesterday, so now I am awaiting the return of AF and start TTC!!

I don't have much news to report, DD is doing really well, starting to eat more independently with bowl/spoon and really trying to talk. We're off for lunch today with mother's group, as 2 of the mums have birthdays this week. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

CAZ I hope your having a great weekend, good to get away from things and have a well needed break!! Oh and don't you love the cuddles DD was a bit of a cuddler but oh boy DS just luuuvvveesss his cuddles!!

Shaz I can relate totally to the body issues!! I am glad you have popped back in to catch up so to speak!!

Gremily YES I know about the boobs but unfortunately mine are obviuos but I am losing.. I went from perfect 12C to OMG size 14E... Oh the joys of BF,,... NOT!!

Len I am glad you dh is coming back, that went fairly quick??!!
Angelbaby - Elijah loves remotes and phones too but he knows he's not allowed them and when he gets busted with them he comes and hands it to you looking either really innocent or laughing. I can just see the look on his face....... They just make you wanna cuddle them not growl,... Although the climbing on the coffee table has worn itself totally thin. I got the camera to take a pic while Daylan was doing it and he sat down on the chair!!! DH and I just laughed!!

Not much here other than daylan becoming a great lil chatter box and giving heaps of cuddles to his Aunty, mum and dad!!:hugs: Love my bubba boy

My last few days have been, hmm, eventful to say the least. The girls and I have been sick.
On Tuesday, while still in SA, Tatum threw up during dinner, after complaining all day of a sore tummy and headache (only once, was fine afterwards though).
Thursday dinner Maia had diarrhoea that came out of her nappy (she hasn't had runny poo since before she started solids). So I changed her and took her nappy outside to hose off (it was that bad I couldn't get any into the loo), while Tatum and her stayed in the loungeroom. While hosing off the nappy Tatum yelled for me to come back in. I ran inside to find Maia had done MORE diarrhoea all over the floor (luckily it's only lino) and it was all over her aswell (bum, legs, hands, clothes). So before she could put her hands in her mouth, I picked her up and took her to the shower, chucked her in (well, I didn't throw her but you know what I mean!), clothes on, and turned on the water. Tatum came and watched her (meanwhile, she was complaining that she had another tummy ache) while I went and cleaned up the floor and the trail of poo leading to the bathroom.
Got the girls to bed, with Tatum sleeping in my bed while DF is away. 10:30pm, I'm about to go to bed when Tatum yells out for me. She's thrown up again, all over herself, the bed and the 3 pillows she was using (somehow she missed the quilt:confused: ). So, Tatum went and had a shower (had to wash hair as it was all through it), while I cleaned up the bed, doused the wet spot with Glen20, got a load of washing on and made up the sofa bed.

Maia's had a cold the past 3 days but clearing up, I got it from her (feeling better today) and Tatum's feeling much better.;)
I could have done having DF here to help!

Oh Emily big :hugs: to you!! Hope you and the girls are better soon. You poor thing, having to deal with all that poo and spew :barf: Your DF is lucky to be away and miss of all of that!!

We've had a nice quiet weekend. Took DD to her swimming lesson on Sat morning, and had the outlaws attend to take some piccies. It wasn't a good lesson, as one child with diarrhoea had attended a lesson earlier in the morning contaminating the pool  . They had to drain it and put extra chlorine in, so the kids weren't allow to put their heads under water, to prevent irritation to their eyes etc. Also our regular teacher was away, so DD was a bit distracted by the changes.

DH and I went out last night, to see a young DJ from london perform a set of his new tunes. Its the first time DH and I had been to a club in ages (2-3yrs), so it was nice to have a dance:smiliedance: . Also it was a big night for Romilly as it was her first sleep over at my parents house!!We set up the portacot, got her sleeping bag, her fave toy 'pink lamb' & a dummy and she was totally fine!! She slept through and we picked her up this morning and she was a happy little bunny!! She didnt' seem to miss us at all, she's very comfortable with my parents as mum looks after her two days/week when I work.

This may belong in the TTC thread, but I had my Mirena IUD out on Thurs and now after two years (not counting the post partum bleed), AF has returned!! I've had greasy hair/face, pimples, cramps and now AF. I can't complain though, as I was lucky to not have AF sooner!!

Hope everyone's had a great weekend!!

Hi everyone

I've returned from Melbourne with an empty purse and an extra bag :o I spent way too much money but it was well worth it  I had a great time spending quality girlie time with my sister.

Emily - Big :hugs: to you and your family. Hope the girls are feeling better soon

Elijahsmama - I want to lose a few kilo's before buying another set of bathers too

Shazbutt - No walking here either, Aidan is mobile enough crawling, I'm in no hurry for him to be walking. His two cousins (who were born on the 2nd August) are now walking and are definitely keeping my brother and SIL on their toes.

zenifa - Just before I fell pregnant, I was thinking about using Mirena IUD, would you recommend it? Good luck with TTC :fingerscrossed:

I better go, sorry to those I have missed

zenifa
23-10-2006, 18:39
Caz, I had my Mirena in for a year. It was a little uncomfortable to have put in (like a pap smear), but not painful and it can be easily taken out if you want to conceive (your fertility is supposed to return asap!!). It is quite cheap (you get a prescription to buy it from the chemist $30 and doctor inserts it for you) and lasts for 5 years and is a good form of contraception. The progesterone is released slowly into your uterus, so you don't have side effects common with other forms of contraception like the pill and I didn't have any periods, so YES i would recommend it!!

Wow Emily! I hope things are going better at your place today!

Congrats Caz on your 1000th post!! :yelclap:

We though we might have chicken pox here. A friend was over last weekend and their son was not well. 3 days later he is covered in spots. :fingerscrossed: We haven't seen anything here and it has been almost a week and a half. But I did warn our baby group to be on the look out. It really bothers me when the bubs take each others drinks, but when things like this happen it is so much worse.

My cheeky monkey is starting to climb everything. He has always got his leg cocked up like a dog LOL trying to climb the cupboards/gates/etc. But I can't for the life of me teach him to go down stairs backwards. I suppose we should try it every day. However, he has started to walk backwards and thinks he is so clever and funny. :devil6:

G'day everyone ! I've been a slacker again, and haven't been in here much.....
Big news! Charlee has started to try and walk! :smiliedance: She started last night by trying to let go of things, but today got up to 5 steps before keeling over! LOL Seems once i start to get worried about her being slow at things, she starts doing it! She's also started to push Kenzie's little step/stool to everything and gets up at the sink, and drainer, and.....basically everything. Not a habit i want  . Now i have to wash up and dry as i go (which i hate....i only used to do it when i got a sink load *shame*) Oh well, the joys of having kidlets huh?

She's also addicted to hot chips. Again, not a really good habit, but she's eating, so i don't mind at the moment. As soon as she sees one she comes over reaching out and 'na na na' (Ta) -ing at me...its like she's starving!

Emily, you poor thing, having to deal with that 'experience' on your own. Your DH is one lucky man not to have been there! LOL I hope you are all well now.

Congrats Caz on your 1000th post! :yelclap: I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend away with your sis.

Angelbaby, i can relate to the cheeky grins when they've got something....normally Charlee grabs whatever it is (normally the remotes), and takes off giggling. She face plants half the time 'cos she's crawling so fast! LOL!

Z, lucky you having family around to babysit. It's been so long since we went out by ourselves, even just to the movies or something. Good to hear Romilly went well staying over at your parents, it's hard when they get upset.

:smiliedance: Yay for Charlee :smiliedance:

I'm also starting to worry about Aidan not walking, he's only pulling himself up on his knees at the moment. I think he's stood up on his feet a couple of times. I'm not sure if I should take him to the doctors or just see what happens

Len - I hope your cheeky little monkey doesn't get the chicken pox :fingerscrossed: I had it when I was 3 or 4 weeks old (my brother had them when I was born) and the I got the shingles (which is the adult strain on of chicken pox) when I was 3 years old.

Shazbutt
24-10-2006, 19:32
Caz, i wouldn't start to worry too much yet...that's what everyone was telling me anyhow  ( i sound like a hypocrite there i know, LOL). If he gets to 18 months and still isn't doing anything, then i'd go and get him checked. As long as they are making general progress of some sort, they're fine. Charlee has been walking around stuff for a while now, she was just slack on actually letting go!

Oops, Len, i forgot to say hello! Hello! LOL I hope Ethan doesn't ge the C-Pox either, its not pretty (and there are some nasty strains around nowdays). I asked the doctor about getting Kenzie done when Charlee has hers at 18 months, and she said 'the best way for them to get immune is to take them to see a child who has them'! I know its true, but no way am i subjecting my kids to something that could have been prevented (or at least prevent them from getting really bad, like in their mouths and in other nasty places :o ). Fingers crossed he'll be right.

24-10-2006, 19:42
Caz - I wouldn't worry too much about Aiden not walking. Maia isn't walking, but cruising around furniture. She occasionally lets go and stands by herself (up to 10 secs) until she realises and grabs back on. If you are concerned make an appointment with a good paediatrician. It's hard when other kids are making huge leaps and bounds with their progress. Tatum was one of those, walking at 9 1/2 mths and saying heaps of words. But Maia only started crawling about then, and is only just starting to say Mum, Dad, Nan, and Bub.

Shazbutt - That's fantastic that Charlee's attempting to walk!! Too bad about the dishes though:D

Len - Maia's been climbing for awhile now, but she still tends to try to go down head first:rolleyes: . She also does the cocked leg on tippee toes which looks hilarious.

Zenifa - Diarrhoea in the pool, hey?! Just one of the perks of public swimming pools!! I'm so jealous of your parents looking after Romilly;) . When Tatum was born my parents (mostly, but sometimes DF's) would look after her, which was great. Now, though, it's kind of hard when they're 1500km away!

The girls and I are MUCH better. Maia still has a runny nose, but it's thickening up (TMI!).
I can't believe it's Tatum's last term already. Can you believe they only finish on the 22nd December?!?! It's absolutely ridiculous. I think it was the same last yr, but we went back to SA so she missed the last wk (they don't really do any work that wk anyway). I can't wait for school holidays again.

gremily
24-10-2006, 19:47
On the Chicken Pox subject, Tatum had them when she was in reception back in SA. She was in a class of 18. One wk 1/2 the class had it and were away, then the 2nd wk the rest of them had it and were away.
Tatum did give it to my brother, though, who was 21. As a kid he'd had a lighter version of chicken pox (it's not chicken pox but similar), but the dr's weren't sure whether it was that or chicken pox. Tatum didn't get them too bad, but my bro got them absolutely everywhere and was quite crook. Tatum thought it was hilarious that she'd given her uncle CP!

Ooh, i'm making up for lost posts atm...:D

I forgot to add about Charlee climbing. She's just figured out how to get up on the couches, and she gets down by kind of sliding off the edge feet first, into a stand. Can't remember for the life of me how i taught Kenzie to do it when she was little...

Emily, good to hear you're all getting better. And you're actually looking forward to the holidays?! All i hear is mothers complaining usually!

Yeah, I know! I think mum's that work probably find it hard, having to find sitters, etc.
I love it, though. Don't have to get ready in the morning, days can be lazy aswell:D . Or we just go off and do stuff. There's no homework, no excursion money, and Maia can sleep whenever she wants. I really cherish spending time with Tatum, especially as those teenage years will be coming up soon:eek: and who knows what will happen then!! I'm hoping that by building a good relationship now it'll help later on.

I think we've all posted tonight than we have in the past wk or so!!

Thought I'd post a bit about Tatum. She's doing really well with the bedwetting. The past 3-4 nights she's woken up to go to the toilet:yelclap: , which she used to do but then stopped, which is when the bedwetting started. She's still wearing the pullups, but the wetting has decreased to about 2 nights/wk, compared with 4-5 nights/wk. I'm very proud of her, and continually praise her for it:kiss: :hugs:

Maia is pulling the house to pieces, everything is coming out of the kitchen cupboard. We keep the pkts chips in a bag hanging low on a cupboard. She enjoys nothing more than to stand, holding onto the cupboard, pulling every pkt out.
We got given a little ball pool (pool with balls in it) a couple of days ago. She absolutely loves it, and tries to climb in it all the time (which looks hilarious as she gets stuck 1/2 way).

Hi everyone!! Its taken me a little while to catch up on the posts, but its been great to read your updates!!

Caz - Congratulations on reaching 1000 posts!!:yelclap: Glad to hear that you had a nice weekend with your sister and had some retail therapy!! Don't worry to much about Aidan not walking, they all do it in their own time and I agree with the others, if he gets to 18mths and you are still worried then see your GP/Paediatrician and get a referral to a Paediatric Physiotherapist. Apparently boys can take a bit longer sometimes with milestones, so I would try not to worry.

Len - :fingerscrossed: that Ethan doesn't have chicken pox!! DD has also just discovered that she can walk backwards and thinks its lots of fun, she is also trying to climb everything (including the bath  !!) so I have to hyperviligent these days with her!! She loves emptying and sorting things, as I write this, she has emptied my handbag all over the study floor, rearranged a bookshelf, with most things on the floor and looks like she's going to start on another room!!

Shazbutt - Congratulations on Charlee walking :smiliedance: Its a shame that Charlee's increased walking/climbing means you need to do the dishes more often, bummer hey??

Emily - glad to hear that you and the girls are getting better!! Isn't your DF back soon? Like Maia, DD loves to go into our walk-in pantry and take anything she can reach, like cereal boxes, glad wrap, potatoes, onion, garlic and just carry it around the kitchen!! DD has one of those pool balls too and loves taking the balls out and then putting them back and trying to climb in!! Hey, great to hear that Tatum is using the toilet at night!!

Speaking of toilet training, my parents have already got a little potty for DD and mum actually put her on it on Mon/Tues. I've already told mum that kids don't develop sensation and pelvic floor control until they are at least 18mths, so there is no point starting toilet training sooner. Anyway on Mon, DD did wee on the potty and yesterday she did a wee and a poo on the potty. It was just a coincidence, not really due to any proper 'training'. Oh no!! DD has just gone into our nappy bin, retrieved a dirty nappy and brought it in to me!! Oh dear !!

Anyway I better dash, before the whole house is turned upside down!!

Well sorry I haven't been on for a while,.... got caught up in the other threads and have been so tired lately. I went to another shoe party with SIL' husbands cousin.. I must say they are english and very rich, I felt like I was at the queens house, they were the nicest family.... It was fun to get out of the house and the party was noisy and I was relaxed knowing it wasn't my kids that were being noisy...
I am looking forward to my party in a few weeks..

CAZ I am glad your feeling a bit better, you will feel down for the longest time honey.... :hugs:

Shaz- Well I finally got to make those yoghurt ice pole things, kids love them. I was mashing eggs for the sandwhiches at lunch and remembered that I still hadn't made them..

Emily- I hope that you guys are over the sick period,..... It is hard when you have 2 that are sick, I am very lucky (touches some wood) our 2 are hardly ever sick..

So the weather has been great here and the kids love being outside, today Daylan had an icey pole and he got the sand and was pouring some on and then licking it and then pouring more on and then licking it... I just left him go....... He was having fun!!

Anyway my 2 have been very grizzly today so I better go and sing and dance with them before I leave DH qwith em when I go to the gym:D

Well I got a nice surprise today - a PM from Mumontherun!!! She just got back from OS and is on her way to see Abbie tomorrow. Bet she can't wait!!

I also found out another 2 friends are pregnant. Both expecting their second child. YAY for them, but it is making me feel sorry for myself. I'm feeling old :gloomy: and feel like I am running out of time... Oh well, at least I have DS. I've been floating around the TTC threads and there are heaps of ladies who are still waiting for their first bub. That sure helps me to get over myself...

Maybe I need some dinner... that should help my mood. See ya!

Len - I can't believe you think you're old! My auntie didn't have her first child til she was 39, 6 mths before I had Tatum! She only got married a couple yrs before having my cousin, and had been a career/travelling woman. My other auntie tried for 10 yrs to have her first child, then had her 2nd 18 mths later naturally. It really must be hard though, seeing others with bubs or getting pregnant, when you're trying so hard yourself. For something that's meant to be such a wonderful experience, it seems to be extremely stressful. I really hope to hear good news from you soon:hugs:

Angelbaby8 - We're actually usually really healthy. I think having such a full on wk in SA, plus being confined on a plane with circulated air and ppl breathing their germy breathe everywhere, the girls and I just got a bit run down. Tatum and I are fine, Maia's almost there. No more diarrhoea, but still the goobery nose - that thick green stuff;)
Sounds like you had a great time at the party, aswell.

Zenifa - Yay for Romilly going on the potty! There's actually parents who toilet train from day 1 as a newborn. It's called Elimination Communication or Toilet Timing. It's all about reading their signs. I've been able to get Maia to do poo's on the toilet as I know when she's going to do one. I can kind of see when she's going to wee but she does that so quickly:rolleyes: . I wouldn't say I'm actually toilet training her, but it's great when she poos in the toilet rather than in her nappy!
This is an article in Byron Child http://www.byronchild.com/arts29.htm it's an interesting read.
Eww, about the nappy though!! What a lovely present!!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!

Emily - thanks for the link, will definately check out that article.
After the nappy gift, I'm thinking of taking the nappy bin out of her room, as I don't want her playing with soiled nappies :barf:
I'm not too worried about starting the TT yet, but if my mum wants to try DD on the potty, then thats okay with me. We can usually tell if DD is going to do #2, which will help when we start TT, but it will be harder with #1s, sometimes she does a wee on the bathroom floor just before she goes into her bath, or has even done one in the carpet in her room, just after a bath, now that she can run away when I try to put the nappy on her!

Len - thanks for the update from MOTR, hopefully she'll pop back into BH sometime!! I can understand how you feel, when you are clucky and TTC, it can seem like everyone else around you has got what you want. You are still very young and have lots of time, plus in the meantime you can enjoy your little Ethan!!
At my work, another of my colleagues has announced her pregnancy (she's due in April), and another is leaving at Xmas to have her baby in January, so I can see baby bellies at work and it does make me clucky too!!
I haven't checked out the TTC threads much, as I'm trying to keep my mind off it and just hope it happens (I think abut it way too much anyway if you ask my DH:rolleyes: ).

Zenifa - when Tatum was a toddler she wee'd so many times on our carpet (back in SA). It was ridiculous:rolleyes: but we ended up ripping it up anyway and having floorboards:D . We had a huge backyard, aswell, and toilet training her came during summer, so she'd just run around outstide nude and it didn't matter. Although, our dog did eat her poo once

DF will be touching down in about 20 mins :smiliedance: . One of his workmates is picking him up, as there was no way Maia would have stayed awake for us to get him. Tatum is having a late night so she can see her dad. He's really upset about leaving his brother, especially now that he's making great progress. But he desperately wants to come home to us. He's been thinking about whether it would be a good idea for us to move back to SA. Tatum's made some great friends here, but would adjust, as she finds it quite easy to make friends. I've made a couple of really close friends (who have bubs aswell) and I think I'd find it the most difficult - not working makes it harder to meet new ppl. But I would LOVE to be closer to my family. DF is in his dream job here in Sydney, but would be able to find work fairly easily in Adelaide. I guess we'll see what comes.

A really cute thing happened yesterday. We were coming home from visiting my folks (30 min drive) and trying to keep DS awake so I could put him down when we got home so eventually we got on to singing. :o I started with nursery rhymes and I think DP got sick of it an turned up the radio. The song "Throw your arms around me" or whatever it is called (I think by hunters & collectors - I'm hopeless) came on the radio and DP and I were mucking around singing it stupidly when my DS decided to join in. Ohh... it was so cute watching him join us holding those long notes... all of us out of tune. Our first sing-a-long!

Now, back to my tax... :banghead:

Angelbaby, glad the kids like the icypoles! At least they're healthy!

Len, i understand how it gets you down...but it'll happen for you! We're here for you if you ever need to chat or just vent (well, i'll make an effort to come in more often  LOL) How cute about Ethan singing! LOL Oh, and did i ever send you those pics of Ethan that i took? Please tell me i did.....

Hi Caz , hows things? Hope Aidan is well.

Emily, Good luck figuring out if the move back to Adelaide is best. Its tempting to have all your family near huh? I'd love to move closer to ours, not right in the same town maybe (don't think i'd cope with the IL's...or my own mother for that matter! LOL), just closer. We started toilet training Mackenzie last summer, and it was sooo much easier! We only had 2-3 accident inside before she was fully trained! We were lucky though....Charlee will probably take ages .

Speaking of whom, she's been sick sionce last night, vomiting every time she has a feed. She hasn't had a milk bottle since last night at 5pm (if you don't count the 9pm one and the 5am one this morning which got brought up straight after). I've just been offering her 50mls water at a time every hour or so. Only thing she can keep down (though she has held down 1 plain biscuit too....).

Here i was thinking she had eye teeth coming through, and the tip of the first top molar is through, and the molar on the bottom below it is coming too! Poor kid....could be what's making her sick, as i remember Kenz getting like it too.... Anyhow, i've done 3 small loads of washing today with just spewed on clothes and sheets, and had to wash both mattresses in her portacot (the base one, and the foam one in there). She has a bit of a fever still, but i'm piggybacking the Nurofen & Panadol hoping it'll come down. All she wants to do is sleep.

She's still trying to walk and getting further and further before falling over. Up to 7 steps so far which is good. :smiliedance: By christmas we'll be right for sure!

Well girls, i am on the pill, but i am 7-9 days past my period.....all tests are coming back BFN, so i don't know what's going on. I'll have to ring tomorrow and make an appointment for a blood test methinks. I'm normally 28 days on the pill, and have never been over 31-32 not on it, while trying for the girls. (And when i did test with the girls i got my BFP's on the day my period was due). Weird.....I'm kinda hoping it is a BFP, but scared of how i'd cope with Trev being away. I know i'd find a way to deal with it, if you have 2, you might as well have 3! LOL

He has said he wants to wait 5-6 years if we're gonna have another, but i'm not giving up the partial freedom i'd have then(and newly thin body, LOL), if we have another, i wanna have it now! So i'm secretly hoping....and i think he would secretly be happy too. LOL

Sheesh, what a mammoth post! I sure made up for not being here earlier! LOL Talk soon!

Thanks girls... It must seem like I am obsessed with being pregnant - I'm not... really and truely!! It is just that I was coming here via the TTC threads and that is depressing... So, now I've decided that I will always post here first. I'll "try" not to sook here... ok. ;)

But, on the other hand... lets talk about it a bit more... Ohhhh Shannon!!! How exciting/scary!! :fingerscrossed: that you get what you want!!!

and I hope your little princess is feeling better soon!

Wow I have missed a lot.. Won't it be great if your preggars Shaz, I have been sooo clucky especially reading that some of you are trying. My sil is trying with her hubby so it is going to be great if they have another little bubby! I wanted to wait until my body gets back to a smaller size but hubby and I often talk about if we had another baby now it would be good if not better..

Caz and Len I hope that you 2 have good news soon, I know what it is like everytime I wanted a bub one of my sil's got preggars before us everytime it broke my heart....:crying: Then with DS I was devastated when sil said she was preggars before us however it didn't stick and I felt sad for her... When I fell preggars I felt sad too but then I thought if it happened to me I would be happy for the couple... IYKWIM A few months later we discovered SIL was preggars again but not telling anyone.. So I was glad I didn't have to feel sorry for her and her DH!!

Such a drama when you think about rearranging your life Emily.. You think of all the pros and cons and don't know if your doing the right thing or not!! Go with your heart....

Len thats so cute, I bet DS had a blast!! I love singing in the car and looking like a real idiot!!:D

I am so enjoying the communication that DS is getting.... Today I asked him where his spoon was and he pointed to the floor and said there. I also say do you want a bscuit or biccy and he walks to the kitchen same with a drink.. When I tell him to dance he dances it so cute we have so much fun as a family.. We all muck around and dance and sing at home and daylan loves it.

Actually today Atahlia was painting on the kitchen floor for my family and Daylan sat down and said thank you so I let him paint to !!

Our weekend was packed on Friday we took the kids to a playcentrea and played for 4hrs.

Saturday we went to dd dance and then to SIL to see her renovations and then we ended up going to a 4wheel drive show in Melbourne with SIL and BIL my kids had a blast...

Sunday we went to my families which is a bit of a drive for brotherse bday.. Kids had a ball they really do play with their cousins and all 4 get along so well.. With other cousins it is reserved my 2 know who they like and it is wonderful that they all have clicked!! Daylan has come out of his shell and shows off constantly..

Anyway I will be back sometime this week I am still sooo tired and cannot get enough sleep...

Aw, sorry Len, here i was sympathising with you, then i went and rambled on about that. :hugs: Stupid me....

Angelbaby, i am trying not to get my hopes up, but i can't think of why else i'm a week late while on the pill? I've had cramps on and off (not bad) since last Saturday (not this one just gone), and i normally only get cramps for a day then i get my period the next.....like i said, it's weird....

Sounds like you had an action packed weekend! I would love for the girls to have some cousins their ages, but they don't. I have alot of little 2rd cousins around the same age, but we don't see them often, but might at christmas! It'll be fun!

Well, Charlee had a big sleep 'til 9pm, and i decided to try her with 60mls milk....stayed down for 1/2 hour then up it came....:( She's not hot now though, which is good, and has gone back down to sleep. I hope she's a bit better in the morning, or i'll be taking her to the docs (and get me tested at the same time :D).

it is nice to know that i am not the only one getting clucky. i have finally sorted out my cycle (after a period that lasted for 8 weeks) and i am starting the ttc journey. i have decided to take things easy (like last time) and just let it all happen when it happens.

beth is really independant now. she tells me off when i don't let her do things or say no. we have decided to start going to childcare on mondays and fridays so i can increase my days at work and try to put aside some money for our wedding in february.

well i had better get to bed as it has been a very long day and tomorrow is likely to start just as early as today did (5am:eek: )

Hi there Belinda .

Well, we're off to the docs in a few minutes to get Charlee checked out (she's still not holding anything but tiny bits of water down), and also get me a blood test done. Will let you know how we go! :D (How long do blood tests take to get back, do you know?)

Hey Shannon - don't appologise!! I LOVE hearing about others good news!! :D Can't wait for all the details!!
(And I forgot to tell you that I did get those photo's - thanks!)

angelbaby8 - Isn't it amazing when the bubs know what you are talking about and follow instruction. Yesterday I said to E - "do you want a biscuit?" and he said yes, went to the kitchen, pointed to the drawer, opened it and took out the container and brought it to me. I was very surprised!!!

Emily - Is everything back to normal at your place now?

Well - it looks like we all missed the chicken pox here!! :smiliedance:

I'm back from the docs, Not much he can do for Charlee (didn't expect he could, just wanted to be safe), he just said to keep the water up to her in small amounts, and maybe little bits of water ice blocks...for the sugar. All she wants to do is sleep. She's been laying on me all morning, and is now down again....Oh well, at least i get some peace (Kenz is at daycare) :D JJ, i'd rather have my girl well again.

Should get the blood results back tomorrow lunchtime. I don't think i will be preg though, as i did another test when i got home and its a BFN. It has made me realise that i really want anoth one now though! Maybe its time to start working on DH ;).

Its good that you all missed the chicken-pox Len, not a nice thing to have....And yay for all the kiddies following instructions and learning new things! Charlee knows when i say 'bot bot' to hop on her couch ready for it, but that's about it....:D Oh, and when i ask her if she wants a bath, she crawls in there ready....

Hi guys:wave: . I've only skimmed through all of your mammoth posts, as Maia is wanting my attention.

Shannon - It's terrible when the kids are sick and there's bascially nothing you can do. Hopefully Charlee's back to her usual self soon. And pregnant?!?!? Ooooh, I bet you're dying to find out the results!

I can't remember what everyone else wrote about so I'll do that another time;)

Everything is slowly getting back to normal. DF went back to work yesterday, broke down in the morning while there, but once he got back into it, with his mind preoccupied on task, he said he felt better. His brother has started talking (although slow, it's understandable), standing up assisted, reading, etc so everything is looking really positive. He even remembers the girls and I being there with him, even though he was still in the coma:) . DF just really wants to be there with him. With hindsight he said he would have waited til later to go over, but there's not much you can do about that, unless you can look into the future!
I've been typing up FIL's 1st journal over the past couple of days. I told him how privellaged I felt and how he's like a 2nd father to me. He said he always wanted that. It's definetly made us even closer. MIL, on the otherhand, is very detatched from the situation, preferring to watch the tv about BIL rather than watch if the food tube in his nose is getting caught on the bed:mad: . DF is very P.O'd at her.
It's unlikely we'll move back to SA as there aren't too many job prospects for DF atm. Everything is here for him (visual screen technician - concerts, corporate events, etc - he did the screen on Australian Idol), whereas he'd have to take a big step down to find a job in Adelaide. But, eventually we'll go back, likely before Tatum starts high school.
Maia's getting hungry and foiling my attempts to type properly, so i better go!

Hi everyone!!
I have finally managed to catch up with all of the posts!!

Firstly, Shazbutt - I was quite surprised to hear that you may be pregnant, :fingerscrossed: good luck with getting your blood test results today, hopefully it will be the result you want. Looks like it may be time to start working on DH!! Hope Charlee is feeling better soon!!

Len - I'm very relieved to hear that you missed the Chicken PoX!! Ethan sounds so cute with the singing and wanting a biscuit!!

Belinda - I'm with you, I'm getting clucky, and have just started the TTC journey. We're not charting, doing temps or anything like that, just letting it happen when it happens. Hope everything is going well with your work and best wishes for your wedding in Feb!!

Angelbaby - I agree its great fun when you can communicate:ecomcity: more with your baby....erm I mean toddler !! We have lots of singing and dancing here too and DD loves it!!

Emily - I bet you and the girls are so glad to have DF home!! I know it must be hard for him, trying to refocus on work, but still thinking about his brother!! Sounds like the move back to SA isn't likely at the moment. I guess when time and finances allow you can always go back and visit friends and family again.

DD is doing really well, just being her usual cheeky self. We had a friend R over this morning for a little play and R's mum K is pregnant with #2 and due in Jan, it was so cute. DD was going up to R's mum and having a cuddle and she thought her bump was a comfy pillow. K was surprised that R didn't get jealous or possessive and thought it was good practice for when the baby comes. I would ask DD 'where is the baby' and its soooooo cute when she points at K's tummy. The two girls had lots of fun playing, and sharing and thankfully its tired them out enough to have a sleep and hence some BH time for mummy :yelclap:

I have three weeks of my locum job to go and I can't wait, as we're holidaying in Noosa once this job finishes :smiliedance: Once we get back it will less than a month til Christmas.......does anyone have any good gift ideas to share (for the kids, DH, etc)? It just seems like the end of the year is creeping up rather fast!!

Sorry if I've missed anyone!! Better go, the house looks a state!! Bye!

Nup, it was a BFN :(. Oh well, might be time to start working on the man of the house! ;) I really want another bub now....but i don't think he does. Doesn't think i'll cope with 3 on my own all week long. But if you can deal with 2, you can deal with 3 yeah?

I told him last night we'll have to talk, 'cos we either have one now, or not at all. I don't want a big age gap, and i don't want o have to do it all again in a few years. So if he doesn't want more, maybe i'll get him to get 'the snip' like he said he would after Charlee was born, so i can give up this darn pill!

Charlee's still sick....has kept a couple of tiny diluted milk bottles down (only 50mls), so hopefully she might take some more later :fingerscrossed: , otherwise tomorrow i'll be taking ehr back to the docs. She can't go on not eating anything. She's really sleepy and lethargic, but who wouldn't be after not eating for 3 days i guess.

Hi guys, Maia's asleep so I thought I'd get in here and catch up with you all - soooooo many posts to read!

Shannon - sorry to hear about the BFN. Although, I must say, having a big gap inbetween isn't as bad as you think. I always thought I'd like them close together, but I absolutely love the 7 yr gap between Tatum and Maia. Tatum's old enough to help out sometimes, she can watch Maia if I go put some washing on, etc. There's still sibling rivalry, but in a different way. But I think that happens with all siblings.
How's Charlee going today?

Zenifa - I'm so jealous you're going to Noosa! As for gift ideas, I layby'd the girls and our nieces/nephew's pressies at Kmart back in July, and to tell the truth I can't actually remember what I've got:laughing:

Angelbaby8 - good luck with the avon sorting! I still remember my mum's avon lady coming around at least 15 or so years ago. Back when avon was considered 'old peoples' makeup:D

Emily, i guess part of my reason for wanting kids close in ages is for my own selfishness. I don't want to have to go through it all again in 5 yrs time. But, i also would prefer them to be close in age for their benefits too, i know where you're coming from though.

Charlee is a bit better today, a bit more life in her. She's keeping down 100 mls of milk at a time, and pinched Kenzie's toast crusts this kmorning and downed them (and had already had a few bits of soaked nutri-grain), so she can't be too bad! She's still very clingy though :(....which i am SO over! Dh is home tonight, so hopefully she'll let him nurse her for a while. I think her teeth are bothering her more now. The points of the bottom molar are nearly through now too. She keep chewing on her fingers.....

Awww Shannon :hugs: sorry that you got a BFN :(

:fingerscrossed: Belinda!!! Hopefully you'll have some good news soon!

Zenifa - Christmas!! Eeek!!! It is sneaking up rather quickly hey!!

I told DP he's not getting anything!! He has spent soooo much lately. On top of his speeding fine (which I just paid today), he had to replace his sunglasses (and will ONLY have expensive ones - for fishing!!!). He bought 2 tickets to the Big Day Out - YES TWO!!! (1 for Gold Coast and 1 for Sydney) so therfore will need to get to Syd too.. prob will want to fly.. and that is just off the top of my head! The list just goes on and on...

For E, so far I've bought some wooden puzzles with the pegs in them - just cheapies. I'd love to get one of those Bounce and Spin Zebra's, but I don't know if he would use it and I still am yet to see one out of the box, (apart from on TV)... He loves cars, so I'm trying to find some 1yo friendly cars that aren't babyish. I know he is getting a FP Peekaboo train from my bro & SIL. He's got so much already and we've run out of storage space!!!

Well, me and E are all alone again. DP has gone to 1770 - fishing.

Len - TWO BDO tickets!! Wow, that's dedication! Last yr we went as a family (Maia was 4 mths old) as DF work does screens/projections for it every yr, so we got in for free:smiliedance: . We sat up in the bleachers of the mainstand, Tatum got bored after a few hrs, but Maia slept for most of it - we had those squeezy ear things that looked huge in her ears. We had ppl take photos of her with the stage in the background, they couldn't believe there was a baby at the BDO! We're hoping to go again this yr aswell. Despite DF having to work 50-70 hrs/wk, getting into concerts/shows for free is one of the perks:cool:

Had the geneticist call me yesterday. All the blood tests results showed nothing:rolleyes: . He's going to organise full body scans at Westmead Childrens Hosp. and an appointment with an international bone specialist. As he has a looooong waiting list, we'll have the scans done first. Then he and a team of dr's review upcoming cases each wk, so they'll check out her scans. Then we'll have the appointment. Hopefully something will come from this - either that there isn't something wrong or there is and it means we can deal with it.
We have our appointment with the paediatrician on Thursday so we'll see what she thinks.

Wow, a family of 5! You must love children:D and must certainly be great with organising! My mum was one of 5, while my FIL was the last of 13:eek:
Hope your pregnancy goes well, that you skip the morning sickness, that you sleep well, and have a safe delivery (gosh, that must seem aaaages away!).

Billie&Beth - what sort of pocket nappies did you get? Summer potty training is fantastic, which is what we did with Tatum. It's great that Beth seems to be showing signs of being ready.

Just a quick one atm - Maia just did a poo, so I clean her up, left her nappy off and came to check my emails. Looked over at her and she's done MORE poo, is crawling in it and it's mostly on top of a Southpark DVD cover of DF's:laughing: . Chucked her in the shower, shirt and all, cleaned her up, got her out then cleaned up the floor and DVD. That's the 2nd time this has happened in the past 2 weeks. Lucky I don't mind poo too much, as it's inevitable that I get it on my hands!

I don't mind wearing pads, but I'd be interested as to how the mooncup performs (iykwim) and how easy it is to put in and take out. I think I'm probably one of the few women who doesn't mind my period - it makes me feel like a woman, it's something to celebrate. But, in saying that, I'd really like to never have to buy pads again:D . Plus, I feel extremely contradictory to have Maia in cloth for environmental reason, then be wearing plastic and adding to landfill myself:rolleyes:

Angelbaby8 - There's some pretty easy cloth nappies to use now. Not all pins and folding, no soaking etc anymore. Fit just like disgustables (oops, sorry, disposables:D ), with press studs or velcro. Plus when they're made from hemp or bamboo they are unbelieveably absorbant. Plus, imagine the money you'd save!! AND you'd be doing Mother Earth a huge favour. It takes me 10 mins all up for laundry - chucking them in the machine and hanging them out. Check out this thread from Cloth Nappies section http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=41779
It's kind of long, but it's got some excellent info and advice.
I'm extremely passionate about cloth. I used them with Tatum but changed to disposables when she was about 9 mths as I couldn't get the terry flats to fit her anymore. With Maia I used terry flats and disposables at night. When she was about 10 mths I bought my Baby Beehind fitted nappies and I haven't used a disposable since:thumbsup: . I think it's made me even more gungho as it's so easy to do. Anyway, check it out all if you want, but don't let me push you into it!

Maia has been so happy today. Really giggly. She's been standing by herself heaps today aswell, 3 - 10 seconds each time. She's still waking in the middle of the night, sleeps for about 4 hrs then wakes. I was so tired and exhausted today that this afternoon, when she had a late arvo sleep (4ish), I ended up sleeping with her. Had about an hour. Tatum has her piano lesson Monday's at her friends house, and they were dropping her off about 6ish, so it was great to be able to crash with out having to worry about what she was doing. I often feel like having a sleep when Maia has her arvo sleep, but I worry I wouldn't wake up to get Tatum from school.
Maia's still got that runny nose from when we came back from SA. It's driving me nuts! It slowly runs out and before I can wipe it she usually ends up rubbing her nose, which means it goes all over her face:rolleyes: . She's not really sick at all, her nose just won't clear up.
Okay, I think I've written enough in here for 1 day! Where are you all?!

i'm still here gremily - been to work for the calcutta and just about to go to bed as i have to do the cup luncheon tomorrow too.

Beth starts daycare on friday. it makes me feel a little sad that i have to put her into care but at least she will make heaps of friends - she loves playing with other kids.

angelbaby8 - the world of modern cloth is so easy. with 3 kids you would be washing every day or every second day at least. all it would be is 1 more load. you use hardly any powder and just hanging them on the line is about 10 minutes. when i take them off the line and stuff the pockets beth likes to "help". they look so much cuter in summer when you have them wearing just a t-shirt. just get one or two and see how you go - gradually make the change and you will start to see the difference. any questions and i am sure gremily and i would be happy to help you.

Well.. I was inspired, I just read the entire thread about MCN that Emily posted - but I am still too scared to try them!! Maybe if I actually saw some for real - not just pics.
Besides, I have 4 bulk packs of sposies still to get through. AND most importantly - we always run out of hot water in winter... I'm not wasting my precious hot water on washing nappies!!

Len - actually, you don't need to hot wash them:) . You can do a cold wash then line dry them. The sun is the best sanitiser around:thumbsup: . I used to always hot wash until I read some info about washing nappies, and now I only ever hot wash if they're a bit smelly (very rarely).
Check out http://www.babybeehinds.com.au/index.php as she has demonstrators who can show you their nappies. Otherwise, if you go to the cloth nappy thread there are a fair few cloth mums from QLD who might be willing to show you some of theirs if they live close by.

Well I actually went and checked out ebay last night as I want to get a heap of nappies anyway before this bub is born.. I got a pic and sent it to my mum and asked her to make some for me, if nothing else but to have spares as I really hate to run down the road to go into aldi for 5 seconds unpack 2 kids imagine 3:eek: !! I love shopping with the kids but seriously 5 minute jobs just annoy me!!

I can't believe how great thoswe nappies look...
I would also like to know what the dif is between hemp and towel like ones??

Anyway things are good here.. Daylan is learning how to go down the slide by himself..

Christmas is making me sooo excited, I do personalised baubles and am so flat out this year:yelclap: So I thought great extra money to save I need it for the new bub etc.. Nope we have a crack in the windscreen and now a flat tyre where a nail went through it!! I have low profiles so they cost at least $150... Right before chrissy!!!!

Anyways I hope you all have a great day I better get the platters ready as the race that stops a nation is about to start!!!!!:D

Angelbaby8 - you need to be careful of the ebay nappies. They can say "made from highly absorbant material" etc, but the majority of them can be pretty shoddy. There are some excellent WAHM's making nappies, but unless you really really really know what to look for I'd actually suggest sticking with a well known brand.
http://www.babybeehinds.com.au/index.php
http://www.greenkids.com.au
http://www.peapods.com.au/store/Default.asp
Billie&Beth would be able to think of some more (my brain's gone walkies atm!).

Anyway, the difference between hemp and terry (towel material) is absorbancy. Hemp is so much more absorbant than terry, and bamboo is more absorbant than hemp.:D

*not to self - must increase the power of the brainwashing machine on bubhub*

i like to look at www.ozebaby.com.au and if you were looking at making your own try www.bubbaearth.com.au and www.nappiescovered.com.au

len - and anyone else in brissy - you guys are welcome to come and check out my stash. if it is on a monday or tuesday i could probably arrange for a few other cloth mums (love ya veve) to come and flash their stashes too. to start with i would probably go and get a couple of trial packs first to see what you would be more comfortable using. pockets or aio's and fitted's with a cover. the pockets and aio's are waterproof but you will need a waterproof cover for the fitteds. don't get sucked into the fluffies nappies on ebay. honeyboys are really nice but rare to find secondhand. also if you are going to be having more than one in nappies - it would be worth getting the one-size nappies instead of ones that come in a few different sizes. have a chat to oscar's mum too about eenies. i am still not able to work them out.

any other questions feel free to ask.

Hi to everyone!!

:smiliedance: Congratulations Angelbaby8 on your:bfp:

Its taken me a while to read all the posts and I am very interested in the cloth nappy discussion. I used cloth (just the old fashioned terry flats) for the first 6 or so months with DD, at home and then disp when out. I also had a nappy service for the first three months which helped. Then I started to do a bit of work and got lazy and went straight to disp. Lately I've been thinking about going back to cloth and have started to check out some of the modern cloth options, but its a whole new world and I'm overwhelmed.
Belinda, I am definately keen to see some of your stash and that of any other mums in Brissie, as I'm considering getting some trial packs. Good luck to Beth starting daycare on Friday :fingerscrossed:
I'm after nappies that are one size, for DD now but also for use with another baby when it comes along.

I haven't been on the hub much as I've been busy working and have been busy on the weekend, seeing friends, family, going to swimming lessons, concerts etc. My locum job ends in two weeks and we are off to Noosa for a holiday, can't wait :smiliedance: Once we get back, then I can start getting ready for Xmas. I've got some presents already sorted out, laybys to pick up and more shopping to do.

DD's clingy at the moment, so I betta go, bye!!

Thanks Belinda - I'll keep the offer in mind. Like Z said - it is very overwhelming.

My boy is getting very clever. :yelclap: I say to him now, "where are your shoes?" and he'll go away and come back with at least one of them. I also bought one of those static mops - flat one with the orange fluffy pad and he walks up and down the hall and kitchen mopping for me. I've tried to get it on video, but like EVERY time I get the camera out, he stops what his is doing and just rushes for the camera. :devil6:

gremily
08-11-2006, 20:25
Len - hopefully he keeps up the moping later in life:laughing: . It sounds very cute though. But isn't that the way with cameras! Maia can be acting all cute and smiley, but as soon as you get the camera out she turns off the smilies!

Z - http://www.babybeehinds.com.au/index.php are a one size nappy (this is what I have). They have trial packages, and a layby system (as our finances are tight, it made it so much easier to pay for ours). There are a few others that are one size, so I'd suggest getting a couple of different ones to try, that way you can work out what you like best before forking out a heap of money, only to discover they don't fit properly or you don't like the style, etc.

We have Maia's paediatrician appointment tomorrow. Hoping it goes well. I'd don't think Maia is quite up at a 15 mth old level, but as everyone seems to say 'they're all different and can develop at different stages'. But it still can play on my mind occasionally, especially when we're with other toddlers/babies who are a few mths younger who can already say things and walk, etc. At the end of the day, though, she's still my beautiful little girl:) . Will let you all know how we go tomorrow.

Emily, best of luck to you and Maia tomorrow at the paediatricians:fingerscrossed: I know that everyone says that all kids do things in their own time, and that is true, so try not to worry, she seems to be doing very well and looks gorgeous!!

Len - your story about Ethan mopping had me laughing. When DD finishes her meals, I get a damp cloth to wipe her hands and face and when I give it to her she cleans up her tray from her highchair, its cute and saves me some cleaning:laughing:
DD has been in this phase for weeks, where she will constantly bring things to myself and DH, be it, toys from her bath, fridge magnets, books, toys etc, She is really good at following instructions and recently helped DH reorganise the bookcase and CD/DVD tower. Lets hope she stays a little helper.

I'm off to bed, goodnight:sleeping:

Wow, 3 kiddies. I think i'ld like 3.......eventually!
I havnt been on here for ages. I've just read the last 2 pages but cant be bothered reading back too far.
All is good here. Elijah loves housework too, i always give him the vacum to play with when i've finished and he'll lie down on his tummy and do under the couch like me. He's such a great helper i just hope it continues as he gets older. He can give kisses when asked but often you get a bit of slimy tongue aswell. Elijah loves shoes and will bring them for you to put on, i sometime catch him trying mine or DHs on but he dosent get far before he trips.
My parents left last week after having them for 5 short days. Now they are in India doing an etripid travel (?) up to Kathmandu then london, Ireland, Paris, Vienna, New York, San Fransico then winding down in Hawaii. Im so Jealous!!! Elijah loved having then here but he was so overtired by the time they left as we went down Sth for a night and went out lots everyday.
I better go now as i have a howling toddler letting me know that i have to attend to him (the computer door is shut and he wants in). DH isnt very helpful when it comes to little tanties.

:wizard:  :reindeer: :xmas: How cool! New smilies!! I love the wizard!

Anyway, onto why I'm here:

Maia's appointment went well. All her blood tests came back within the normal range, although they weren't able to do one of the tests as they didn't have enough blood (it was like squeezing blood from a rock when we had it done!).
We have referrals to have her hearing tested again plus a referral to another paediatrician to check her eyes. We've noticed she has a bit of a lazy eye sometimes, but of course, while at the appointment she didn't do it! Grrrrr! I've got to get some ear drops to clean her ears, very waxy, and in about a wk we'll go have the hearing test done. The eye referral we'll have done within the next 2-3 mths.
She's grown a bit in length, still in the lower 10%. Her weight gain hasn't been huge, she's now 8.5kg, but she hasn't been a big eater which could account for that. Over the past 2-3 wks, though, her appetite has increased and we're now trying big chucks of food. As you might be able to remember we had the choking episode where I had to call the ambulance. Since then we've had a couple of minor incidents where I've had to turn her upside down and stick my finger in her mouth, so I've tended to avoid big bits of food. But she seems to be going really well lately, big chucks of watermelon and strawberries, etc.

So now I'm just waiting for a call from the genetics team letting me know when our appointment with the bone specialist and full body scans will be. The paediatrician rang our geneticist and he was apparently quite p!ssed off with the genetics team as they hadn't contacted me yet or sent his letter to our paediatrician. I think when he got off the phone he was going to be making some rather interesting phone calls to the team!!! On a wonderful note, though, when the paediatrician mentioned Maia's name he knew exactly who she was and everything about her. It's Dr's like that that make me feel special, or most importantly make me feel they think Maia is special.

The paediatrician seems to think that Maia does have some sort of syndrome but what it is exactly they just don't know. That word 'syndrome' is kind of scary, though. It conjures up images of downs syndrome or autism, etc. I love Maia with all my heart, but it's just not something you can prepare yourself for, especially when you're told during your pregnancy everything is going well. You just want everything to be okay for your kids, to know they're going to be alright and be able to have a wonderful life. Maia's our beautiful, little girl, but I'd just like to know if everythings going to be alright.

Anyway, I think I've written enough for now. Your eyes are probably burning from looking at the computer screen for so long!!

Sorry, I've just remember something else. I had my best friend message me this morning as I was walking home from school. Her mum had a stroke yesterday and had to have an operation as she had a 2nd blockage in her brain. The op went well and she's recovering alright. She had a 1 in 3 chance of dying. I had tears welling in my eyes as I'm walking, then txting her back and forth. We've been friends since we were 6, and her mum was always like a 2nd mum for me. Once again, it's times like these I wish we were back in SA, all I want to do is be with b/f and support her, hug her, etc.

How is everyone? Hope you're all well. It's a beeeeauuuutiful day here in Sydaney:D
Tatum's school had their Big Night Out last night. All the kids who play an instrument (taught at school) or are in the choir performed. Tatum is in Choir, junior recorder band, and plays recorder in the Training Band (all the kids who are just learning an instrument and want to eventually play in the Senior School Band). She absolutely loves it and really gets into it all. Only problem was it started at 7pm and didn't finish until almost 10pm! Considering Tatum's bedtime is 7:30pm it was an extremely late night, and a school night at that! The night can drag a bit aswell, and your ears get a bit of a beating with the wrong notes and the screeches and basic songs:D . It's a great confidence booster though, and the kids love performing to the parents. I did let Tatum sleep in later than usual, and we ended up being about 20 minutes late for school, but I'm sure we weren't the ony ones.

Maia and I went to a different playgroup this morning. It was fantastic! Toys everywhere, outdoor grassed area, sandpit, the absolute works! Our normal playgroup was in a church hall and we just didn't have the numbers. The 'plus' about this playgroup is that it's just up the road from Tatum's school, so I can go to playgroup in the morning (9:30am) then onto school assembly at 11:20am, I don't have to pick which one I should go to each week. Maia loved it especially the little slippery dip and the sandpit.

Oh, gotta go, she's just woken up:wave:

Tonight we had a grease night, my DD has a concert and she will be doing a dance to grease lightning. Daylan was dancing and trying to sing with us.... He was actually watching it more than us. He was eating dinner at the start and he didn't take his eyes of it... Amazing when your a mum and I never realised how very naughty some of the lines are.. 'You know that ain't no s**t, we'll be getting lots of tit, well Grease Lightning, go go go!'

Tatum loves Grease aswell Angelbaby8. She went through a stage where she watched it over and over again.......alright the first few times, but when you're watching it again and again it can get kind of tedious. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie, but there's only so many times you can listen to 'Saaaanndeeeeya' in one weekend!

Where is eveyone besides AB8?:detective:

Maia is starting to sleep alot better. We've started a new 'system' getting her to sleep. I was getting over tired, especially with her constantly wanting bf to go to sleep. So I guess we sort of did a bit of controlled crying. She's now going to sleep in her cot (rather than me rocking her to sleep or feeding her) within 5-10 mins. The past few nights if she's woken I've just resettled her with the same method, rather than bf her back to sleep, and she's back asleep easy. I think she wakes up as she moves around and ends up hitting her head.
I'm feeling better, I'm not cursing DF in the middle of the night for not helping:D , and Maia seems to be going really well with the new routine.
It's only been about a week since we started, but it's made such a huge difference. I'm hoping soon that she'll start sleeping all night:fingerscrossed: . Oh what a glorious time that will be!!

And I agree with angelbaby8 - very cute pics girls!!

Emily - how is the sleep routine going>

gremily
14-11-2006, 16:20
It has been pretty quiet around here. I've been popping in every now again but there were no new posts:no:

Len - the sleep routine is going pretty well. Maia's still not sleeping through the night, but she's going back to sleep without a feed. She's at the stage where she almost doesn't need 2 sleeps, and every few days will miss her morning sleep. It's great as we can do more things together, but at the same time it means I can't do more jobs around the house (or spend as much time on BH!).

Billie&Beth - it's fantastic that Beth enjoyed daycare. It makes it so much easier when they're comfortable, especially when you leave. There's nothing worse than leaving when they're bawling their eyes out. Tatum did a couple of times, here or there, when she went to childcare and when she started kindy, but the majority of the time she'd give me a kiss and a hug then run off and play.

Not much news to tell atm. My parents get back from their trip on Saturday, and have a change over flight in Sydney. We're going to meet them there and we'll have a couple of hours with them before they fly back to SA. They've been to Sth Africa, Greek Isles and parts of the US. My dad is the Education Officer at Monarto Zoological Park in SA (open plains zoo), and got accepted to present a paper (not sure what on, something educational) at the World Zoo Conference, all expenses paid, for 1 wk. They decided to remortgage their house and take the once in a life time opportunity for mum to go aswell, plus extend the holiday for 6 wks.
They left 1 wk before the girls and I flew back to SA (when BIL had his accident) so we missed out on seeing them, so it'll be fantastic to be able to catch up, even if it is only for 2 hrs.

Thanks for the offer Belinda, but I have been waiting around all morning for the telstra techie to come out and fix our broadband......which he has done and that is why I am back on here YAY!!!:smiliedance:
DH and I realised how much we use the internet, as it was weird to have a week where we only popped on briefly on dialup, and we forgot how slow that was!!

It would be great to catch up some other time, as DD would love to play with Beth and I could browse your clothie stash!! Glad to hear that all went well with Beth's first day of daycare!!

Len - don't be scared of venturing out to the southside, you just need to to take the gateway motorway, bypass the city all together cross the bridge. Its about an hours drive, both Beth and I don't live too far away from the motorway, we'd love to see you down our way!!

Emily - hope the sleep routine continues to go well and hope you enjoy catching up with your parents on their way back from their trip, sounds so exciting.

Its hard to know where to start with my update, suffice to say I only have 3 more working days left of my locum (Thurs, Mon, Tues), so I am busy trying to finishing everything up. Then next Weds (yes in a week:p ) we are off to Noosa for a weeks holiday, which we can't wait for. My parents are coming up for the weekend, as its mums birthday!!

DD is doing really well, talking lots, most of it still unintelligible, but she does respond to questions so we are able to converse with her, using signs. Her favourite game at the moment is being chased around the house/yard, and hide and seek. She's learnt to blow bubbles so that and playing with the ball are a close second favourite games.

Although I would love to spend more time on the 'hub, I've got to go, busy day ahead. Now the computer is fixed, I have washing/food shopping to do, then I'm meeting up with some of my mums group for coffee, and in the late arvo/evening I'm dropping off DD at mum&dads, so I can meet DH in the city for dinner and we're attending the premiere of the movie 'the black dahlia' based on james ellroy's novel, a fave of ours, so we are looking forward to our date night tonight. We've been pretty lucky recently to be able to get out to a few concerts, films, parties etc lately. Hope everyone is doing well!!

I've been thinking about just putting that zebra on layby for christmas, even though I've already got a heap of stuff on layby with Kmart! What's another $80 on top:rolleyes:

Zenifa - who looks after Romilly when you guys go out? My parents used to look after Tatum when DF and I went out, but we don't really have anyone near us to do that now. Actually, DF and I haven't been out, just us, since before Maia was born!

DF is sitting on the floor trying to fix our other computer's hard drive (old workhorse of a computer!) and Maia is trying to get in on his lap and help him. She's grabbing all the screwdrivers, trying to reach in the harddrive and get the cords, and reaching for DF's headlight! He's now stopped because he just can't do anything!

Saw Mum and Dad at airport this morning. We were there pretty early, and I think by the time we got home we'd been out for 5 hrs! They had so many stories to tell, a heap of pressies for the girls and a couple for DF and I. We ended up having almost 4 hrs with them, Mum held Maia when she had her hour sleep, had Krispy Kreme's :devil6:, took plenty of photos with them and the girls, went through some of their photos (Dad had 2 1gig cards, and during the trip he downloaded along the way, and he's got about 6 gig of photos - at least 6000:eek: ) then had big hugs and said goodbye.

DF might be going to Pearl Jam tonight. He did the screen's for it before they left on the tour, so the guys who went on tour with them will probably give him a pass to get in. Plus, seeing as it's their last show, he might end up going out with them afterwards:rolleyes: . Why can't I do things like that?!?!?!

We had one of his workmates around to solve some probs with our computer, and there was only 1 pass for PJ, so DF decided it would be rude for him to leave early and not for his mate to go. I was pretty suprised, seeing as PJ are one of his absolute fav bands.
I was so tired last night, and feeling kind of weird - I think it was because I had 2 1/2 Krispy Kremes:D . Actually I've had another one this morning:eek: , but I had to eat it as it was the last one and I needed room to put all the shopping in the fridge;)
Maia's trying to climb up my legs. Hope you're all doing great.

Well my little :devil6: was a bit more bearable this afternoon.

He has taken to turning me towards him if he wants to get picked up or he wants something and I'm not giving him attention - like today I was trying to wash the dishes. He is very strong. He also did a cute thing tonight. He did a wee while waiting to get into the bath and before I could do anything about it he grabbed the toweling bathmat and started wiping it up.

Hi everyone:wave: , its been a busy time for me and there hasn't been much news to report. Except I think that AF may be returning :gloomy: which is bad news as I'm not pregnant, but good news as I can start tracking my cycle. Its early days in the TTC game.

I finish my locum job tomorrow:smiliedance: , have my book club in the evening and then on Weds we head off for our holiday in Noosa for a week, so I won't be back on BH til Thurs 30 Nov.
We are looking forward to having a nice break, going to the beach and my parents will come up on the weekend for my mum's 53rd b'day. We're having lunch at a nice swanky seafood restaurant overlooking the water. I got her a nice photo engraved pendant with a pic of DD from http://www.photoengraving.com.au/. I also got one for MIL, this Xmas, as a thank you for her looking after DD this year, so I could do some part time work.
Where is everybody, its so quiet here......anyway will try to pop in again before I go away.

Hi guys, sorry I haven't been here but i've been busy too. DF and I are in the process of buying our first home. So there has been a lot of stress in my house at the moment. The people that are selling the house want a quick settlement so we'll be moving in the first couple of weeks of December  It's going to be a VERY busy month, so i've also been doing my christmas shopping in the last week. That seems never ending, everytime I think i've bought everything for everyone, I remember someone I haven't bought for

Aidan is doing well, he's only just starting to pull himself up on his feet and walking around the furniture. Talking lots (not that I can understand him) but he's talking. Always getting up to mischief but enjoying him soo much. Not looking forward to looking for work when the time comes, i'm enjoying being a SAHM too much

Must go, will catch up with you all soon

Hi guys

Caz - wow, first house! You guys must be excited and stressed out atm! It's such an exciting time buying your first house. DF bought our house, a few mths before we had Tatum, for $60,000:eek: . We've since had to sell it, and looking at the prices here in Sydney I can't see us EVER buying another house (at least not here).

Zenifa - I'm sure you'll get that BFP soon. And I guess you can have lots of fun practising!

Maia went to sleep at 7pm last night, woke at 9:30pm for a feed but then slept until 5am this morning:smiliedance: . Very very very happy!

Congratulations Caz on buying your first home, that is so exciting!!
Its exactly two years since we bought our place and moved in, and everyone said new house, new baby (incidentally DD was conceived the night of the housewarming).

Emily, great to hear that Maia is sleeping so well.

My DD usually is a great sleeper 7pm-7am, but on Sunday night she didn't want to go to sleep and fought it till after 8pm, and last night went to bed earlier at 5.30pm (as she didn't have a day sleep) , was up for a bf at 9.30pm but slept until 7am this morning.I think she may be teething, as her poos have been looser and she's got a burning red bottom from them!!

gotta go, bye

We have Maia's hearing test this morning. DF is going to drop Maia and I off at 10am before heading to work. Then Maia and I will walk home (about 2km, takes about 1/2 hr), except that it's going to be 38 degrees today:devil6: , so I'm hoping they'll be plenty of shade along the way. Will post later about how the test goes. I have no idea whether we get the results immediately or if it'll be later.

The girls and I spent yesterday arvo outside, playing in Maia's ball pool (fill with water) and in the mud. Maia was covered in mud, and had it all over her forehead after lying down in it! Plus, because she was naked, I had a lovely time trying to get it out of her vagina even after she'd had a bath:rolleyes: it all just stuck in there. Oh well, it's only mud!!

Audiology appointment went kind of well. The lady was great with Maia and even bulk billed :smiliedance: .
The test ended up being inconclusive though. She checked Maia's eardrums first, and it showed they weren't vibrating. Which means there may be a build up of fluid either from this slight cold she has, or it could be permanent and she may need grommets.
She tested her hearing with loud and soft sounds. The loud sounds she turned her head immediately, but the softer sounds it was really random as to whether she turned her head or not.
So we're having another test in 6 wks and she asked me to see the paediatrician again about checking her ears for the fluid.
Dropped in to the paed on the walk home, and luckily she was inbetween appointments. Maia was asleep, but she's given me a prescription for nasal spray that we have to use for 2 wks, 2 days break, then another 2 wks, 2 days off, then use it til the audiology appointment.

It was sooooo hot and windy. There was plenty of shade on the walk home, but the shade doesn't make it any cooler.

That's so cool Len!! Maia has started clapping MY hands together - she hangs onto my thumbs then opens and closes my hands together. Hopefully soon she'll start clapping her OWN hands!!

Maia slept all night last night:smiliedance: . She's sleeping alot better at night finally! Even though she usually still wakes at 2ish, it's usually only 5-10 minutes to pat her back to sleep.

She can climb up onto the couch now aswell, and has started throwing herself around. She gets up on the couch when we're sitting on it, stands up at the back then lets herself fall onto the couch sideways or on top of you. She thinks it's hilarious.

I'm assuming from the email that 'Belinda' is Billie&Beth? I'd noticed she hadn't been around for awhile:no: .I hope the whole BH and Bigpond thing gets sorted out soon, I think there's a fair few ppl who are usually around here that aren't atm.

I've been really exhausted the past few days. I'm debating whether to go and have a blood test done to see if I have glandular fever.......again:rolleyes: The first time I had it I got sick the day of my yr 11 formal - I got all dressed up, managed to get to dinner but ended up at the hospital before could even get through the restaurant door! I also had it when I was about 22. Had it worse than the first time. So so tired.

DF is exhausted, aswell, but for totally different reasons. He's been setting up screens for Idol. He worked all day yesterday, came home for a few hrs, went back to start the Idol setup at 11pm, got home 1pm today and has to go back about 9pm tonight and won't get home til the early morning:eek: . He's been asleep since he got home. There's other guys that are still there working that basically won't sleep til tomrrow! The setup has been an absolute headache, but DF thinks it'll be amazing.

The girls are well, Maia's bfing while I type - makes it difficult but at least i'm using my right hand!

hhmmm...... ok..... still nothing... I'll talk to myself.....

2 very embarrassing things happened yesterday. One, when we were grocery shopping DS pulled a carton of eggs off the shelf - they went everywhere on the floor and into my trolley and there were heaps of people around. :o

And two, there were only a few people in the santa line, so because I had just done the shopping I had spent enough for a free photo. So we lined, up and when we got to Santa DS was terrified of him. I was determined to get the photo, as by now my frozen stuff was starting to defrost, so I had to get in the photo too. It was an unusually cold day and I was in my old track pants and joggers and hadn't done my hair. To top it all off, Santa told me that that will be the photo the family will want to look at for the next 20 years! :xmas:

I think I'd better aim for another one... :reindeer:

Hi Len (& anyone else lurking out there!!)
Sorry, but I had to laugh:laughing: at your two embarrassing moments yesterday!! I think you have the right attitude about Ethan's heart, stay positive and just wait until you see the paediatric cardiologist!
So are you pregnant, or were you just seeking attention a few posts back? :fingerscrossed:

Not a lot of news with us. Yesterday I went to the Pero clinic for a talk on feeding development (i won a free ticket to attend on bubhub :smiliedance: ). I had an unsettled night with DD the night before (took 3 hrs to get her to sleep  ), so I decided not to take her along, and she played with grandma instead.
The talk was really informal, small group, interactive and very informative. I was interested in finding out more about food intolerances, as DD often gets a spotty rash on around her mouth, cheeks and chin after food, and I wasn't sure what it was due to. Does anyone else's bub experience this?

Also is everyone's toddler now feeding independently with a fork/spoon (ie not including finger food, feeding with hands only)? I need to work with DD on this, as she can be a bit lazy and prefers for me/DH to feed her

Gotta dash, can hear DD stirring, will be back soon!!

Thanks Len.... that is a relief, when this lady at the Pero said that toddlers at 12mths should be using fork/spoon .... I just laughed  !! She can hold a fork/spoon and mush the food around and if I scoop the food onto a spoon, she can put it in her mouth......but its not independent  .

I also took DD yesterday for her makeup swimming lesson, that we missed while we were away.....she was so excited and a real show off, but it was lots of fun :p !!

Its been a housework and groc shopping day for us today....not very exciting and DH is off to his work Xmas party tonight :tree: .

Aidan is doing well, although i'm making arrangements for him to see an ortho-pod. He's standing up alright but he rolls his ankles in, which bothers me. I'd rather take him to see someone and them tell me there is nothing wrong than go on and find out later on that there was a problem.

Hope all goes well with Aidan :fingerscrossed: and his appt with the orthopod, he may just need some physio exercises to discourage his ankle rolling!!

Well I am certainly enjoying being a SAHM again!! :smiliedance: I've started going walking every morning with DD and my mum.... hoping to lose some weight and get a bit fitter too.
DD and I went to a playgym type of thing this morning called Tumble Tots at our local YMCA, and DD loved it. I had taken her once before, many months ago, just before she could crawl and she couldn't get much out of it, but now she is loving it.
I'm also planning to try the local mum & baby aqua class too - I can exercise and DD can enjoy splashing around the pool too!! I think with this plus playgroup/mumsgroup, I will be just as busy as when I was working!!

Hi Girls

I feel like :gloomy: . I have a terrible cold! Thanks for the congrats Caz & Z and of course Emily!!!!. Zenifa, I wrote you a nice long PM on Fri (I think) answering your Q's and when I was nearly finished Ethan did something with the mouse and the whole of internet explorer dropped out! I was to devastated :p to type it all again...

Anyway, now that I've told DP, I'll put it all here... Tested last Tues and got a BFP. Decided to wait until Sunday to tell DP as he was interstate working and it was his bday on Sun. He was very happy and relieved with the news. (He reckons the pressure is now off him.) I told him by wrapping up a baby name book with the positive test and giving it to him as a present. I thought he would be shocked, like I was, but no!

Based on LMP I am due on the 25 July, but I know I didn't O until CD28, so I think I am really due 7 Aug. So another Leo Aug bub by the looks of it. I haven't been for blood tests yet. There was a week wait, so I go tomorrow - and that isn't even with my usual doc. She had a 2 week wait! To bad if anyone was sick! Ummm... I can't remember what else I said in my lost post... That's prob it for now!

Well I've already been out walking today, and DD is having a nap....as after lunch I'm taking my mum to her first appt with cardiologist (she's got high BP) :fingerscrossed: it all goes okay. Then we might have some retail therapy afterwards.

Well Z, my blood test was just awful... She took soooo much blood, she just kept swapping the containers - I couldn't look. Anyway, got up and left. I made it to the car, DS wanted to go to the park so he wouldn't get into his seat. I was feeling very woozy and ill. So I chucked him in the backseat and shut the door. I then fell into the front passenger seat where I think I passed out. I just opened my eyes and I had drooled (how embarrassing) on my arm. I couldn't see or hear anything properly. So yucky! Anyway to make a long story a bit shorter, it took about an hour before I felt stong enough to get DS into his seat and drive home. I got home - spewed in the front yard (nobody saw), dragged DS into the house and put him to bed and I slept for a couple of hours - thank goodness DS did too. I got up at 12n and the whole thing felt like it was starting again. I've done nothing all day except rest. Poor neglected DS today and DP is away. I still feel really yuck! Early night for me! I'd better get some good results after the day I've had and hopefully I don't have to do it again very soon.

We've got a photoshoot at portrait place (PP) this sunday, so we hope the photos turn out better than our last pixifoto ones

I also have organised to get DD's photo taken by fiona ogilvy, who recently posted on bh offering free photograpy, as she is looking for more photos for her business website....we are going on mon 18th dec.

Today is our rest day.....well we've got grocery shopping to do. We were very busy yesterday, with a play date in the morning, DD had lots of fun and I got to catch up with my friend who is due with her 2nd baby on 14th Jan .....very exciting.
Yesterday arvo, I had mum's group at our place, so DD had more playmates and saw another mum who is due with her 2nd bub on 21st Jan .....so come January I will be clucky visiting these newborns!!

On Weds we tried a mums and bubs aqua aerobics class which DD loved. My mum's appt with cardio was okay, but she's got to have more tests and go back again :fingerscrossed: its not serious.

Anyone got exciting plans for the weekend?
Saturday, we've got DD's swimming lesson, then we are picking up layby from Kmart (from the toy sale midyear), browsing for a stroller etc.

Sunday we've got photoshoot at PP, and in the evening DH and I are going to see the new james bond movie in Gold Class with BIL and his gf.

Zenifa - sounds like you're enjoying your home time.

Maia is becoming so inquisitive lately. I usually take out one of the cutlery draws (no knives) and put it on the ground for her to rumage through. She always wants to be picked up when I'm cooking, though. She stands behind me and sticks her head between my legs 'telling' me to pick her up:rolleyes: . Yesterday while I was making cookies I pulled her highchair up, opened the top cutlery draw, and she pulled things out and watched me work. It was great! (Oh, had to mention this. I made 110 choc chip cookies!! Some for DF's work - they are constantly requesting them. As special container for 1 of DF's workmates who put in an 'invoice' for some:laughing: . Some for Tatum's school BBQ/disco last night, and finally some to actually have at home!!)
Hugs and kisses all the time which is nice. When we get her out of her cot after a sleep she wraps her arms around your neck and gives it the most enormous squeeze!

We've been doing this nasal spray for the past 2 weeks (just had the 2 days off and so back into it again for the next 2 wks). Maia actually likes it, gets this smile on her face when I'm about to do it. She lays really still while I stick it in her nose then makes a weird funny face when I spray it. I thought she would have hated it, but she obviously doesn't mind things going up her nose.......hopefully this doesn't mean she's going to be a nose picker!!

She's now found a box of ritz sticks and is trying to get them all out:eek:

Hi everyone (especially Emily....who seems to be the only one around!!). I know its a busy time of year :xmas: but where are you all?

It was a pretty busy weekend and week so far. It was our first and last Saturday morning Xmas shopping experience last weekend.....we went to two places and were lucky to find undercover parks, the shops were busy but we got what we needed. On Sunday the photoshoot went well, we get to see the photos next Thurs :fingerscrossed: there are some nice family shots!! We enjoyed our movie, it was fun to have a 'date night' and gold class is always fun (except DH didn't get our food order right :banghead: but that is another story!!)

This week we have had lots of activities to keep us busy - tumble tots playgym, babies books and rhymes, mums & bubs aqua, plus DD had a playdate at a local playcentre which she enjoyed. Her favourite was the slide that went into all the balls and the jumping castle....she loves bouncing ATM :smiliedance: I've also had errands to run, and we have a little mum's group xmas gathering this arvo once DD gets up from her nap. Next week will definately be quieter (phew!!). I have finished all my Xmas shopping but haven't even started on any Xmas cards yet!!

DD is getting much better with her self feeding skills and yesterday fed herself baked beans/toast and later yoghurt!!
She is starting to copy actions to songs/nursery rhymes and she still starts to dance whenever any music comes on!!
Also she has started telling me when she needs to or has done a poo, so it looks like we may start toilet training slowly in the new year.
Her talking is also taking off and she's saying more words.... I still am amazed at her progress.....my little baby girl is growing up!!

Its father and daughter night in our house tonight, as I am going to see Cirque de Soleil with a friend, its my first time, so it should be fun!!

Hope to see some more posts here soon!!

 Hi Emily & Z and anyone else lurking!!!
Just a quick note to say I am still here. DP is working from home this week so I haven't been able to get my BH fix. Things should be different next week. :D

Emily - I've got NO chance of being on the computer when DS is around. He always seems to press the power button. :banghead:

My work has been at me this week for either to return after the school hols or apply for more leave. Talk about pushy. My leave isn't up until 21 Jan. I said I would apply for 3 more months leave, but the acting boss wouldn't let me. Said it had to be at least 6 months. So I thought, stuff-em. I applied for 6 months and then I'll just change it after 3 months to Mat leave. I'll show them! (They don't know I'm UTD!)

So, Romilly likes yoghurt now?? That's good.

I think I'll try more with the self-feeding. I probably have to get better shaped bowls etc.. I don't mind the food all ending up like finger paint on the tray, but I hate the food being thrown all over the room. The other day I was having some pumpkin soup - yeah I know stupid food for this weather (but I read a post on bh about soup and crackers and I craved it haha) and DS wanted to dip his vegemite sandwich in it. That was ok for a while, then he decided that the soup and bread would make a good paint brush and started painting the lounge. Cheeky monkey!

Speaking of cheeky monkey - E fell out of his cot a few days ago. DP went to get E out of the cot, but he was playing with a toy so DP sat on the ground to wait and the next thing E was heading for him head first. Luckily DP caught him. The rail was lowered, but it is still about chest high. We didn't think he could get his leg over! I still can't imagine it. Very scary.

Hey Len  , Great to hear from you!! I know what you mean, its hard to have BH time with an active toddler and when your DP/DH is around.

DD does eat yoghurt now, I finally found a brand she likes - Jalna, not any of the baby yoghurts, just a full fat one esp vanilla, strawberry and fruits of the forest. Its quite sweet, but its sweetened with fruit juice, not sugar, so I am hoping its healthier.

Try not to stress about your work, apply for 6 mths leave and then change it to maternity leave....sorry I didn't know what UTD meant??
I am trying to avoid work at the moment, my old job still owes me the last pay.....and the woman I did private practice with, is wanting me to do some work for her in the new year as she is having an operation and will be out of action for 3 months. DH doesn't want me to work.....so we'll see. I'm just wanting to enjoy the holidays and put off thinking about it til next year.

Was relieved to hear that E was okay after his cot fall.....now they are more active, it just means more accident prone.

DD loves drawing (mainly on books :banghead: ), but she tried to draw on the wall with a pencil  . Instead of yelling/smacking (which I have never done).... I calmly got a damp cloth and she and I together washed the pencil marks off - she thought it was a game......but I am hoping it won't happen again... yeah right!!

I'm glad the weekend is nearly here, so I get a chance to have a rest......I'm more tired and busy than I was working  DD has her last swimming lesson for the year tomorrow and then we have a big family Xmas BBQ/Engagement party at my Auntie's place on Sunday.

Oh!! I forgot to mention I went to Cirque de Soleil last night and it was my first time and I was AMAZED!!! I can't even find the words to describe it, but a great experience. Bye!!

Hi everyone. I hav'nt been on here for ages!! I've only read the last page so dont know whats going on.
Big Congrats on the pregnancy Len. That must of been awful after your bloodtests, your very brave going on your own and taking Ethan with you.
Elijah fell out of his cot the other day too, i had lowered the rail and then was playing peek-a-boo behind the door and he decided to do a flip over the rail and land on his head. I felt so bad but it didnt occur to me that he would try to get out because we always play while he is in the cot and he has never even lent over the edge. Oh well, no damage done.
It 36deg here today and im roasting! Might take Elijah to the pools when he wakes. He such a good little swimmer. Once he has his armbands on he's off. I let him jump in on his own and it dosent bother him going under. He can sort of doggy paddle which is great because i dont have to hold him in the pools. Last week he gave me a scare though because i took his floaties off and put him on the side where DH was while i was hopping out and he done a runner and jumped in, sinking but once i pulled him up he started laughing. I really have to keep my eye out around water because hes so darn fast and has no fear.
Have a lovely and safe christmas. :xmas:

:smiliedance: More ppl posting!!!! You've made me sooo happy:party:

Zenifa - I've been using the Jalna (vanilla) yoghurt since Maia was starting on food. I found it so much cheaper to buy a big tub of yoghurt and not the small baby specified yoghurt, and there's really not much difference between the 2. However, I'm now getting the big tubs of Vaalia because Tatum couldn't stand the Jalna and wasn't eating yoghurt. Now she's taking some to school almost each day. I like the Vaalia a bit better than the Jalna aswell, but I don't think Maia could really care less!
As for drawing on the house, Tatum went to town with permanent black marker on a wall and a couple of our doors back in SA. She also had a lipstick escapade one time aswell!

Len - How is the baking going? What's it like having a toddler while preg? Tatum was 6-7 while I was preg with Maia, so if I was ever tired or feeling off she was alright to play by herself while I went and had a rest.

Elijah'smama - about Elijah jumping back in the pool! Must have made your heart almost explode.

Maia isn't spoonfeeding herself yet. She likes the spoon but tends to shake it around in the air before deciding to put it anywhere near her mouth. She's a big fingerfood girl and likes to whack food off the plate and onto the floor.

This is taking me forever to write this. My dishwasher has overflowed twice meaning I've had to surround it in the old terry flats to mop up the bubbles and water! I had something soaking in dishwashing detergent and I have a feeling I didn't wash it out before i put it in, hence it oversudsing.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!

DD had a wonderful time at her last swimming lesson....DH is quite happy to sleep in on a Saturday morning for the next few weeks though LOL!!

Yesterday we went to our extended family Xmas BBQ and it was also my auntie's engagement party.....so lots of family and lots of babies for DD to play with - A boy who is 2, H a boy who is 9 mths, S a girl 7 mths and I a girl 9 weeks (yes seeing her made me quite clucky). It was lots of fun and I was pleased with myself that I didn't overindulge. DD got a little baby doll with bottle as a Xmas present and spent all afternoon feeding 'her new baby'.....very cute.

Emily - hope all is going okay with your dishwasher, ours isn't working  and we're debating whether to fix it or get a new one.

Elijahsmama- great to hear from you..... hope you and your family have a safe and happy Xmas especially around pools  !

I've got to go and get ready, I'm taking DD to get some free photos taken from a very nice BHer I met here recently!!

Have a great day everyone..... can you believe this time next week will be Xmas day :xmas: ?

hi everyone - still having bubhub issues with bigpond so here i am at my dad's house using his computer for the first bubhub fix in over a month.

it is really hard not be able to jump on bubhub when i have a baby question and need advice. i live on msn now so please add me to yours so i can keep up with everything that is going on with our lovely little darlings. babybeth05@gmail.com

well no :bfp: for me yet but we are trying  hopefully one early in the new year.

we are good - beth is still getting the odd germ from daycare but seems to like it ok. she was bitten by another child a few weeks ago quite badly (no blood but bad bruises) 4 bites - 2 on her back weren't too bad but 2 on her arm were awful. i really ripped into the carers as they didn't even notice. but now they have a new director things seem to be getting better. beth goes in with the babies first thing in the mornings and in the afternoons when the rest of the toddlers go to play with the bigger kids. they are too rough with her and she was getting hurt and throws the biggest screaming fit when they try to take her in to the big yard (i think that is where she was when she got bitten - so i don't blame her for not wanting to be there) she plays happily with the babies tho.

xmas is catching up to us faster each year. i haven't done a lot of my shopping yet but planning to get to it in the next few days.

congratulations to those of you who got :bfp: and i am slowly wading my way though pages and pages of posts that i have missed - hopefully they fix this soon as i have some serious withdrawls.

well i had better go now - merry christmas to you all :tree: (sorry just had to use it once) and i hope things get fixed up in the new year so i can bubhub from home.

Well hello there everyone!! *waves* I know....i've been slack lately, and haven't been in here. I got lost in all the announcements and health scares etc, and would have felt bad if i forgot to reply to anyone, so i stayed out.....sorry.

CONGRATS Len on the BFP! :yelclap: (And anyone else, i can't remember, sorry. Good luck to Belinda and Z, and also Caz (I haven't missed anything there have i?), hopefully you'll all get yours early in the new year huh?!

Well, christmas is very nearly upon us, and i'm looking forward to it as Charlee is now walking! :smiliedance: She has been for 2 weeks now, and flies around the house, nearly running! She also has had the 12th tooth pop through, and is very cranky still.

She is so funny, she's worse than the cats at shooting out the door to get outside! LOL She loves it out there, but it's way too hot at the moment to spend alot of time out there. She loves it in the pool, and the sandpit (which we covered with a gazebo thing, so it's shaded). Her and Mackenzie have started aguing, and she wants to copy everything big sis does. She also chucks BIG tanties, and throws whatever is in her hand at the time, be it food, or a cup.... Looks like i'm gonna have double trouble as she's so much like Mackenzie was when she was that age.

Belinda, that would be such a sh*t not having bubhub! I would be having serious withdrawals and even thinking about changing isp's! LOL I hope they sort it out for you soon, as it's been quite a while already!

Len, hope all is going smoothly for you. It's so much harder the second time 'round with a toddler to run after, if you get sick you can't just rest when you want. You will have around the same age gap i have between my two. I wish you luck! LOL

Emily, have fun down south, it's a pity you can't have your DF with you, but at least you get the morning, and you'll enjoy seeing all your family and friends in SA.

Z, Charlee is starting to try and feed herself with a spoon. Very messy, but she gets a fair bit in (between waving it around and splattering things, LOL). She stole Kenzie's fork the other night and started to nick her mashed potato and pumpkin! LOL Good to hear Romilly likes yogurt, it's a good easy food for quick bites.

Elijahsmama, that would have been terrifying for you! Thank goodness you were so quick thinking.... Both my girls love water too, especially Kenz, so i don't take them to the big pool by myself, in case she gets away from me and something happens.

Well, i apologise if i've missed anyone. I will make one resolution for the new year...to get in here more often! LOL

MERRY CHRISTMAS (in case i don't get in here before then, but i'll try! LOL). Enjoy yourselves and have a HAPPY NEW YEAR too!

 guys! Nice to see Belinda and Shannon in here again.

As far as our Christmas plans go I think were up to plan E! Jason is now coming over, but will be driving a few days after xmas. We needed someone to look after our animals (dog, fish, tadpoles/frogs, turtle, spider:rolleyes: ) and everyone who would have done it were going to be away for a few days. But we've got one of DF's mates who'll be back before New Years who can do it for us. So DF will come over for about 1 1/2 weeks.

Billie&Beth - I remember Tatum being hurt a couple of times at daycare (she was about 3yrs - 1 day/wk), but NEVER being bitten. Kids will be kids, but the fact that the carers didn't notice is appalling.

Shazbutt - Although Maia's not quite up to Charlee's development, she adores her big sister aswell. Wants to have everything Tatum does, gives her big hugs and sloppy kisses. Tatum loves it most of the time, but gets annoyed when she's trying to do something 'important'. But it also goes both ways, and Tatum gets really upset when Maia won't give her a hug/kiss and thinks she doesn't love her!

:tree: Here's hoping Santa gets something decent left out for him this year!! And if I don't get in here before I go, have a safe and not too stressful Christmas!!:xmas:

I'm just wondering how many of you are getting a full night sleep?
Maia goes down about 7:30pm, wakes @ 10:30pm for BF, then still wakes at 2am (I don't feed her, just pat her and she goes back to sleep within 5 mins) then she'll wake @ 5:30-6am to start the day.
I'm soooooo tired atm:sleeping:

If they are sleeping through, what did you do???

Shazbutt
22-12-2006, 09:04
:hugs: to you Emily, and don't worry, you're not the only one not getting enough sleep. Charlee has started to go down at about 6.30-7pm again (she was going down at 8.30pm), and i feed her before i go to bed at about 10, then she wakes some time in the morning (usually 4-5am) for another feed. Most days she'll then go back to sleep 'til about 6.30am. I on the other hand have more trouble going back to sleep.....i might as well stay up!

That's great that your DF will be able to spend time with you on the hols! It's hard organising animals to be cared for, i know that too well. We have neighbours feeding the cats while we'll be gone, but for 2 days they'll have to fend for themselves (i'll leave a window open and a self feeder with biccies), i'm sure they'll be fine. Our dogs come with us (and the galah as he's still being hand fed), and the birds in the aviary will have enough seed and water to get them through. Ah, it's like a zoo!

Well, i'll say a huge MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you lovely mums & bubs (and bubs to be ;)), as we're probably leaving tomorrow now (i might get on before then though, LOL). Will chat with you all in the new year! Have fun!!

Hi ladies

Well I have been sick, tired and flat out for the last few weeks. Well Daylan has been amazing us with his wonderful personality. He is so funny makes us laugh with the things he does. He has become a chatterbox and its getting easier as he now says drink and num num when he is hungry. Loves the words MINE AND NO..... Screams while he is doing those 2. I just love it I offer him something he shakes his head and says no.. If atahlia takes something he will scream MINE MINE MINE and chase her!! We laugh..

Oh and talk about thug he has decided hitting his sister is such a fun game, Atahlia hit him back the other day and said "how do you like this"(yes, atahlia hit daylan with a microphone and I tapped her on her head and said how do you like it) .

I love the way Daylan goes to bed and says nigh night, we just love it..
It's hard being sick with 2 toddlers but I am very proud of myself as I have them 24/7 with no help from family so thats how I get through it by saying to myself I am a great mum LOL.. Otherwise I would feel **** and cry all day..

Well I am so looking forward to christmas eve and day.. I will be going to carols up the street and then come home and watch carols by candelight with the kids and just sing my heart out with them..
Then to see their face light up when they see their gifts I just can't wait for!!

Well my DD has stopped weeing at night all by herself at nearly 3 so I am happy that I won't have 3 in nappies.. I am hoping Daylan will be the same I have a friend who has 4 and she found her 2nd a boy to be the easiest coz he watched his sister.. I am sad as this friend has now left back to her family in the country and she was a great person who always had great advice.. I will miss her and her boys they went to playgroup with us adn I just thought she was the best mum to handle her 4 without losing the plot..

Anyway it's good to see everyone slowly coming back.. It's hard this time of year is too busy and evryone is so tired..

Well I best be off..

Angelbaby8 - Great to see you back in here, not so great about the sickness though. It's wonderful to hear Ataliah is having dry nights:yes: . Tatum is still having trouble, but instead of Pullups a last week I got some cloth bedwetter pants that are great. We've had 4 straight nights of dryness which makes her extremely happy.

We've been up since 4am this morning as Maia was almost inconsolible. She hadn't done a poo for a couple of days (which is normal for her), but I think she was having terrible pains. We had showers, Bf's, etc, but she wouldn't go back to sleep. We went outside for a bit which cheered her up. Then lo and behold @ about 9:30am while we were all up on our bed there was a sudden wafting and a much happier little girl:rolleyes: . Df and I are both just a little bit tired now though!
So we're ready for tomorrow. Tatum has just put carrots and water out for the reindeer, and Santa is going to be pleased this year with milk and CHOCOLATE being left out!! She's written a note and put in a photo of Maia, her and Santa (his helper) that we had done today, for Santa to keep. Her xmas sack is up and she's kindly offered to let Maia share it with her this year (we forgot Maia didn't have 1 yet). She has xmas lights hung around her loft bed and the xmas tree is underneath (it's the only place we could put it!). She's told us we have to go to bed early tonight aswell.
I'm almost finished packing for tomorrow's flight, drying nappies and clothes atm. Flight isn't until 4pm so we have all morning to do chrissy stuff. This will be our 1st xmas here in Sydney as last yr we went back to SA a few days before.

Hi Everyone, Merry Christmas for yesterday.

Hi Jade!! Welcome to our thread! Congrats on the arrival of your new bub!

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. I think some of you asked me some Q's, but I can't remember who so I'll have to go back and check soon.

Z - UTD = up the duff = pregnant!

I had a really really quiet Christmas. Me and DS stayed home cause DP's newphew has chicken pox. I actually didn't mind it. It was the most relaxing Christmas EVER. 2 of my bro's called in for a while and the outlaws brought over some pressies in the afternoon. DS slept for 4+ hrs (in 2 lots). Ahhh peace!!!

Anyway - got to go. Be back later.

Welcome Jade. You must have your hands full?! Im finding it all a bit.....um....tricky with just the one! No plans on no.2 for a few years.
I let Elijah spoonfeed himself yoghurt which hes pretty good with, most of the time. Other times ive left the room for a few secs and come back to yoghurt on the couch, floor, walls, etc. Little bugger must of been flinging it from his highchair.
It was over 38deg today, so hot!
The twins i look after (2yrs) are such hard work when the mums around, which is most of the time in the holidays. I hate it! They are completely different kids when they're just with me. I dont know if i can cope for much longer. They have no boundries and no means if you throw a tantie you can have whatever you want. Some days i feel like quitting on the spot but i just bite my tongue and keep smiling.
Anyway hope you all had a lovely xmas.

Welcome to this thread Jade  !!!

My New Years Eve started off really well, DH and I took DD to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. She loved seeing all of the animals, touching a koala and petty some kangaroos and wallabies. She enjoyed seeing the barn animals, birds, wombats, crocodiles, emus, turtles etc. It was a lovely day and we all had lots of fun.

Our evening was pretty low key, but we had fun. I was woken up this morning at 5am :banghead: by a dear friend in the UK, who is just starting his new years celebrations and got the time difference wrong. It was lovely to hear from him and we chatted a while. I went back to bed at 5.30am, but my DD got me up at 7am, so we've had breakfast, she's playing and I'm tired

We've had a relaxing week, catching up with some friends pre-Xmas and then having Xmas day with our families. We went to my parents for lunch and then to my inlaws for dinner. A busy enjoyable day, but we did get two small naps to keep us going!!

DD got very spoilt and received lots of lovely presents including clothes, books, a whale shape sorter bath toy, wooden puzzle, Little People school bus, muscial instruments eg xylophone, watering can, table & 2 chairs which she loves, a winnie the pooh foldout couch which she loves to sit on. She received a doll that makes sounds, DD loves feeding her a bottle and lots of stuffed toys including a handmade pink bear from her great nanna, a hedgehog from the UK, a duck and a huge Big Bird which is taller than her and she loves to hug. From us she got a little bike with a trailer, the laugh n learn discovery tree, a big clam shell for sand/water, books and clothes.

I got a DVD, book and my Xmas wish, one of the motherly bracelets, from http://gigglengroove.com/ which I adore. I was so excited :smiliedance: as DH helped in the design and it was a total surprise. When I'd mentioned it to him a while ago, he seemed to dismiss them as 'cheesy' but it was all part of the plan to keep me off the scent.

DH also was surprised by his presents - Sopranos T Shirt, a few books, DVDs, and Little Britain tickets!!

Boxing Day, DH and I hit the sales and got some bargains, clothes mainly, a some makeup for me, a shirt for DD. The day after, it was cold and rainy here, but DH still played golf with his dad and brother, while we ladies had a chilly breakfast at the golf club. We have also had a few quiet days at home, so DD could play with all of her new toys and we could just relax!!

Hope everyone has a fantastic New YEar!!

well i guess we are all too busy these days with our toddlers to post as much as we used to.

my new years is kinda dull as i had to work. but it was reasonably uneventful but got a bit tricky when i had ti tell a regular that i wasn't going to serve him another beer. but on the upside i walked out with $35 in tips. i will be overloaded at work with january and february being our quiet months so most of the senior staff are taking their holidays and guess who has to pick up their shifts. Me - yep i have 6 double shifts in the next 3 weeks with more to come.

beth is running rings around me and keeps me very busy. beth got heaps of largish toys for christmas too and we are starting to have trouble fitting them all inside. she also got a clam shell sandpit/wading pool from santa and loves playing in it everyday. i just put 2 buckets of water (one hot and one tap temperature) in one side so she can splash and the other side has her sand and some toys she has nappy off time outside where accidents don't matter.

she isn't very talkative but understand what you are saying to her quite well. she says mum, dad, ada, anit, tash, cat, ball, tiggs (for tigger), thank you, hello there, no, yay and a few more. she is also quite good at letting you know what she wants.

we found some really cute little jogger shoes for her too and they flash :wizard: they were a little pricey for something she will probably only wear for a month or two but just looked so cute that i couldn't resist. (come on - own up - who always wanted a pair of flashing shoes as a kid:p )

she is doing well at daycare too - we put her in with the babies in the mornings and afternoons when the rest of the centre plays outside as the older kids were too rough and she screams everytime you take her into the big playground. but she has a bottle with the babies and is good playing with them.

*chrissy* and her little kyan (2 weeks today) are still staying with us and i am so incredibly clucky it isn't funny. i have to stop myself from jumping hubby as soon as he walks in the door. he is just the best little baby too - we hardly hear a peep out of him - except when he gets hungry - then he wakes the dead almost.

hopefully i will get a :bfp: soon in 2007 - before i try to run off with kyan

i hope everyone else is ok. poor little ethan with the chicken pox - hope he gets better soon.

well that marathon post should make up for not being able to get onto bubhub for 2 months
talk to you all soon.

Poor Ethan. Elijah has school sores but they've almost cleared - thank goodness, i hated touching them when they were all raw.
Not much going on here. Elijah's been doing lots of painting and drawing, i had bought a blackboard ages ago that i've just pulled out of the shed. We are moving to Melbourne in 6-8mths so i thought that he should probaly get some use out of it before we have to give it away. My cousin and her little bub are very stoked because we have been giving them HEAPS of baby things and toys. I cant be bothered selling it and what comes around, goes around. He still isnt talking. Says mama, fish, ta, ball and thats about it. He said moon a few times the other day but like usual, he'll say a word 3times then stop and you wont hear it again. Im wondering if hes just holding off then once he starts hes away.
He's teething alot still. Only 1 molar through but the others keep going up and down.
He's sleeping really well. Goes down at 6.30pm - 7.30/8.30am then has a 3-4hr nap late morning. He dosent sleep the entire time but likes to quietly chat to himself which im totally fine with!
I am on holidays till Tues next week and it's so nice. Im finding the twins very hard to handle, fine without the parents but not when theyre around :banghead: I have been either swimming or walking each morning and it gives me much more energy than if i didnt. I cant wait for Elijah's sores to fully heal so i can take him swimming again, even though i think thats where he caught them from.
Hugs for all your little ones and energy for their mums!

Hi Everyone,

E is sleeping for now, so I'll see how much catching up I can do. The dog keeps barking so will prob wake him up.

Added:- Sorry, but this post has turned out to be me, me, me!!! :o

Our Xmas was very quiet but OH SO relaxing. We found out 2 days before that the nephew had chicken pox and because I was preg, I refused to go to DP's family christmas lunch with E, where we were going to announce our news.... We were also hoping that E wasn't exposed - but you all know how that turned out... hehehe... So me and E just stayed home. It was great as we usually spend Xmas day travelling to see all the families. 2 of my bro's visited for a short while. They gave E a bike thing and I wouldn't let them leave until they put it together.

So we told DP's mum and sister about our new bub to be at a breakfast on Xmas eve. FIL had to stay home with the nephew so we then rang him. They were all very excited.

My parents had gone to NSW to visit my Nan who was turning 80 the day after boxing day. So I called them and told them the news for Xmas. I told 2 of my bros the news when they visited and sent a text to my other bro to say that we weren't waiting for santa anymore - we were waiting for another leo. SIL didn't have a clue what it meant, but bro got it. SIL rang back very excited.

New Years was pretty quiet to. We went to a friends house, but left at 11:40. Quickly put E to bed and stood on our front steps to watch the fireworks that were going off at the beach. Then I went to bed and DP went visiting some more friends and didn't get home until 4:45. I told (snarled at) him he had better get up when E woke up and not leave it all for me cause he was tired. Luckily E slept in and then had a 3 hr sleep during the day!!!

Z - I recognise a few of the toys you listed. They seem to have made it to our place too!!

Elijahsmama - are you sure he hasn't got chicken pox? When I had CP as a kid, I only had 5 spots and my mother treated me for school sores. It wasn't until a few weeks later when my bro was asbolutely covered in spots that they realised what I had.

So far I've been going really well being preg and chasing a toddler. I've had a bit of m/s late morning (when I take E to the park). I just have to stand by the fence and let him run wild. Then he goes home for a sleep so I can rest. That used to be my BH time, but by the time I read the posts I am subscribed to, I was feeling to sick to type anything. I had a bt yesterday to check my cp immunity and also heard the heart beat. I have a scan next wednesday.:yelclap: Once I have the all clear from that we can start telling more people. It has been so hard keeping it a secret, and I've even lied to some people that asked.

Oh dear, E is calling me. He sounds a bit cranky. Sorry, no time to proof read. Hope it makes sense. Bye!

Hi it's MissUnderstood using a brand new name (thanks to detective Len :D )
Bec is growing up fast - she walks, climbs and basically runs amok. So unlike Hannah at her age.
She is not talking and only says Ugh Oh when she does somehting wrong or falls over.
She started in her new room this week in daycare and now sleeps on one of their mattress beds and not the cot (still cot at home though).
She is just a monkey. But very cute.
And to think I am doing this all over again in August this year  .

Hi guys, well, so far i'm not doing really well with my resolution am i? :o

Len, sorry to hear about Ethan having chicken pox, it must be horrible for a littlie to get them. how do you go being pregnant and him having them...no danger i hope?

Elijasmama - School sores huh....poor little man. Charlee has just discovered drawing (haven't let her paint yet! LOL) and she delights in ruining all Kenzie's pictures....LOL. They are just starting to fight over things too.

Belinda, Beth got flashing joggers huh? SO cool! I've seen a few kids wit them lately, they must be having a comeback! Charlee still has such small feet, only a size 3, so i can't wait 'til i can buy proper shoes for her...there's so many cute ones! At the moment she goes barefoot or is in soft soled ones, as that's all i can get in her size....

Z, i got a mother's bracelet for chrissy too! Though i knew about mine, as DH has no clue what i really like. It's beautiful and i am so please. So many people have commented on it, and a few have actually ordered things after seeing mine! Lisa is a really nice lady to work with didn't you think? You'll have to show us a pic, i will have to take some more of mine as i accidentally deleted the ones she sent me of it.

MissU - I hadn't seen you around for a while, now i know why! I noticed that your little one is due on Charlee's b-day! :smiliedance: Yet another beautiful Leo bub on the way...how lovely! :yelclap:

Well, the last few days Charlee has had the runs and a few vomiting episodes, i don't know whether it's teeth related (she has her first 4 molars, and now her eye teeth on one side top & bottom are coming through), or a virus type thing. She's not cranky or anything, just a little tired looking. We've had some monster poos that's for sure, and i am VERY pleased with the 'You'll love Coles' brand nappies! The huggies were spilling it everywhere out the sides, and the Coles ones were brilliant (I had one episode where i laid her down to change her and it squeezed all the way out the back of a Huggies, and all over her new doona on her bed! Ugh!)

I got her new bed yesterday, and she slept in it 'til 4am this morning (Kenz slept in hers too 'til then :yelclap:). When they woke neither of them wanted to go back to their own beds, so they slept with me....'til Charlee woke us up at 7.30am with a spew in my bed! Yuk! That's the 2nd time in 2 days she's done it, and i hate making the bed up all the time! LOL I think I need a plastic mattress protector on my bed! LOL ANyhow, she had a day nap her own bed today and has gone down in it tonight too (with me lying next to her for a while though). Kenz is in hers too (a miracle)...so hopefully they'll sleep through.

Charlee is running everywhere now, no stopping her. Her & Kenz run after each other in the backyard (mostly nude, LOL) giggling of an afternoon, it's so cute. She is starting to try and say things now. She says 'Boo', 'Aye' (which is Bye), 'Oh Dear' (picked that up off me, LOL, and says it when she drops something etc), she also goes 'Uh Ooo' (Uh-Oh) with the little lips pouting, and her hands at her cheeks like in Home Alone...she does that alot when she sees animals, or drops something, or sees Kenzie do something she's not supposed to. She also comes and gets you and waits for you to stand up and follow, and leads you to what she wants. She tries to open the fridge, or comes get you to do it too!

Ok, enough from me for now. Good to see you all in here. I hope all the sick littlies get better soon!

OMG OMG, both my girls slept in their own beds 'til 6am this morning...no wake-ups at all through the night! :smiliedance: We may be getting somewhere with Kenzie yet (though i did bribe her with a new Wiggles book for her LeapPad! LOL Whatever works right! :D). Charlee is having a nap in her bed as i write, so it all seems to be going smoothly....

Charlee is still a bit off colour but i know if i take her to the docs they're only gonna tell me to keep her fluids up, so i'm not wasting my money. She's drinking alright (and eating breakfast at least), and hasn't got a temp, so she'll be fine i think. No poos or spew since yesterday lunchtime, so hopefully she's on the mend! :fingerscrossed:

How are everyone else's kidlets this morning?

Beth is going great - we have more teeth through - not quite sure how many as she doesn't let me look that closely anymore.

she keeps missing her sleeps and ends up really grumpy.

i haven't had much time with her (and the other kids) lately as i am working my a$$ off at work - not looking forward to the rest of the month as i work 13 days straight and half of them are double shifts.

dh and i have had some problems since before christmas with me working such long hours and we are trying to see more of each other instead of the 5 minutes change over when he comes home and i head off to work. it is hard and exhausting but we need to put money away for our wedding in novemember so i am working now while i can.

i found out today too that i didn't get the job in our new coffee shop - which is a bit of a disapointment but i managed to have a long chat with my general manager about my rosters and future hours - so i can expect a change at the end of feb (after everyone is back from annual leave of course)

Okay, I'm just here to say 'Hi' and that I'm back from SA. I haven't read everyone's posts and judging by it I think I've got a bit of a long read ahead of me. I'll get to that a bit later though.
Had a great time in SA. Spent time down at Carrickalinga at my Aunty/Uncle's beach house, time with my parents and FIL/MIL/BIL, lots of swimming at various pools (Maia had a ball! She'd be sucking her thumb and I'd dunk her completely under and she'd come back up still sucking her thumb and just blink her eyes!).
The girls and I drove back with Mum and Dad, stopping after 700km at Narrandara for Wednesday night then made it to Sydney by Thurs arvo. The girls travelled well, only stopped for toilet/lunch/bf.
I was going to catch up with Caz while in Adelaide but just never got the chance :( . We were borrowing our parents car's if we needed them, so hopefully next time we might drive our own over and I can finally meet Caz!:fingerscrossed:

Anyway, the girls were thoroughly spoilt with presents, and it's a good thing we had the car to bring them home, otherwise I think we would have had to pay for the extra luggage!

Hope you're all well and I promise to read all the posts and find out how you're lives are going atm:wave:

Wow that is amazing!!! :smiliedance: The pics of the room look really great too! Nice big room with great colours! I can't imagine E sleeping in a big bed yet. Charlee is such a clever girl, but I suppose she has a big sis to be her role model!

That's good that you have CP immunity Len, i know it can be bad otherwise. Is Ethan getting better now?

Ha! Kenzie being a good role model, that's a laugh! Ah, she's alright now, in fact, for the first time in 16 months, she's slept in her own bed without a fight. For the last 4 nights, they have both slept in their beds 'til 6am (well, Charlee seems to wake at 5.55 every morning on the dot ). They aren't even waking in the night at all, I'm amazed! Trev got home the other night and had to go see what Charlee looked like in a big bed, and then looked at Kenzie too, as it's been so long since she's slept in one! LOL

Emily, sounds like you had a fab time in SA! Hopefully next time you'll be able o meet Caz1 It would be lovely to meet you all and put faces to names.

Belinda, you sound like you're flat out :hugs:. I know how hard it is when you don't get much time with your DH. Even when Trev's home he's doing something to do with work. It's good now that the girls are in their beds, as we can reclaim the lounge room for quiet time together at night!

Well, Charlee still has the runs, and i took her to the doc yesterday, thinking it might be Giardia (?), but she reckons it's just viral. Hopefully she's on the mend now though, as today she only had one runny one, and has been eating a bit (even if it is only spaghetti, LOL).

She is really starting to babble away, and makes sure you listen to her! I told her not to touch something today, and she started stomping her feet and chucking a tanty! It was funny to watch though. She is definitely learning from her big sis (all the bad things of course, LOL).

Oh, Helen, about the car seat, i read in the Sunday mail today (in an article about introducing booster seats 'til 10 yrs old), that current laws say that a child over 12 months can sit in just an adult seat belt . I don't know how anyone could do that permanently, but for a quick Taxi ride, or if it couldn't be helped i probably would....

TA Shannon - I'm not comfortable with the idea, but I also don't want to carry around a car seat.

Hi everyone:wave: , just a quick update from me. Its great to see that Len, Shazbutt, Gremily, Billie&Beth etc are all back and posting!! Yay!!

I hope that Charlee and Ethan are both better very soon :hugs: !! Touch wood, I've been lucky, my DD is very healthy, just loves getting into mischief.

I am also very happy to hear that Charlee and Mackenzie are both sleeping through the night, in their own beds!!:yelclap:

Shazbutt - I absolutely adore my bracelet and wear it all the time (except in the pool). The lady who makes them and is lovely, DH had a great experience helping to choose the design and she was very keen for feedback. I will try to take a photo and put it on my avatar soon.

DD loves drawing and colouring in, playing in her sand pit, doing puzzles, singing/dancing and reading. She is starting to talk more, she's getting closer to saying words so hopefully that will ease frustrations and possible tantrums. DD has been okay so far, when she doesn't get her own way, she runs off, cools down from her angry state and then comes back smiling and playing again. Its so hard not to laugh sometimes, especially its over something trivial. DD is becoming more independent with her feeding and I am considering starting TT next month, very slowly. We have been to our library nursery rhymes class and coming up we have a mum n bubs aqua class and a playdate & DD will see her grandmas too, so I can get a few things done. We are very much looking forward to our next trip to Byron Bay on the Aust Day weekend, for a week.
I've got two friends about to have babies, one was due yesterday and is still waiting and the other is due this Sunday!! I'm sure seeing these newborns will make me clucky!! Good luck to those TTC!!:fingerscrossed:

I will understand why Belinda may not be posting much, with her work and family life, there won't be much time to relax, let along bubhub....take care!

Len - about the car seats, I agree its a pain to carry a car seat, but you can (with some notice, for B&W and yellow cabs in Bris you need to give them 2 hrs notice) book cabs that have car seats installed in them (usually with no extra cost). I am sure they would have something similar in Sydney. We're going to SA in March and we're hiring a car with a car seat.
When I worked at the children's hospital, we often booked taxis with car seats/boosters for visitors/patients on discharge.

So now I've read through all the posts I've forgotten 1/2 the things I was going to reply to and to whom. We'll see how I go.

Re car seats - I saw the same thing as Shazbutt (except in the Sun Herald). Once 12 mths can be in adult seatbelt. They are trying to lift the age to 4 yrs, then by 2010 (I think) they want the age to be 10yrs. Although probably safer, this presents all sorts of dilemmas if they have to be in a carseat to 10. How am I supposed to bring home just 1 of Tatum's friends from school?? Tatum was in a booster seat until she was 6-7yrs. She was 1 of the few kids her age in a booster seat but we felt it was safer. Easy to put in a different car. If she went with friends though she wasn't in 1.

:wizard: Flashing shoes - IIIIIII had flashing shoes when I was about 10:D . I luuuuurved them!

Chicken Pox - Tatum had cp when she was 5. She was in a class of about 18 kids. 1/2 the class had it 1 wk then the next wk the other 1/2 of the class had it! Tatum didn't have it too bad, only problem was my brother (at the time was 21) contracted it from her and was as crook as a dog! He'd had a different mild strain of it as a kid.

Hmmm what else was there?

Oh, Welcome Jade:wave: . I've seen you in other places so it's great to finally see you in here. Hope your preg is going well.

Z - I had a quick look at the bracelet website and they're beautiful. Such a wonderful idea with the children's names on them and the fact that you can design them yourself.

Maia has a molar coming through atm. She hasn't had any teeth action for awhile now.
We have her next hearing appointment tomorrow and her ears have really been troubling her for the past few weeks. Not sure if it's to do with her teeth or it's the ear problems. I don't think the nasal spray has cleared the fluid in her ears, so I'm crossing my fingers that she'll have the grommets done. Hoping that if that happens she'll "come alive" (iykwim). I've been told by ppl whose kids have had them they've started talking, sleep gets better, etc. I don't want to get my hopes up but I guess it's a bit hard not to.
Sometimes I feel dreadful that she's had this mild hearing loss probably since birth and it's only now that somethings being done 17 mths later. I can't imagine what it must be like not hearing properly. And the fact that she's always rubbed her ears and we all assumed it was just teething makes me sad. Don't worry, these are all just passing thoughts, I'm not down or anything.

My parents stayed her for 3 days which was great. They took Tatum to see Happyfeet, we went to Taronga as we hadn't seen the elephants yet (we all have membership so we only had to pay for the train/ferry/lunch), and DF used his 'connections' to get us all backstage and look through the opera house (saw a bit of the group Stomp practising for the Sydney Arts Festival). Had a couple of tears after they'd left in the car Sunday morning. Each time is getting easier to say goodbye.

Charlee is heaps better now...back to normal poos at least! LOL I so had enough of the stench and the amount of nappies was horrid! I ended up using cheapies as i had to change them so often (normally a Huggies user)!

She's eating again, and her fave thing atm is tinned spaghetti. She is very fussy with other stuff, so i'm going to start adding things to the spaghetti hoping to get her used to them gradually, like eggs, tuna, stuff like that.

Her eye teeth still haven't come through, but the gums are very swollen. She seems happy enough though.

The girls are still sleeping in their own beds...i can't believe how much Kenzie changed, with Charlee getting a big bed! Finger's crossed it keeps up.

Well, Kenz is at daycare today (2 days a week this year), and i have noticed a good difference in her behaviour. I'm also wondering if some of it has to do with her getting a proper night's sleep in a bed instead of a couch, as she used to wake all the time on the couch, and now sleeps through! Ah, it's all good!

Charlee is also sleeping right through, but wakes early. I might start giving her a bottle when i go to bed (around 10pm) to see if it makes a difference. I'm tired (literally) of waking at 5.55 every morning.

Well, i'd better go try to do some things while Charlee is sleeping...yesterday she slept for 3 hours! LOL

Thanks Helen, i rather like it myself :D! Though i take it off for showers, and it's pain to try and put back on by myself. I'm trying to train Kenz to help me, LOL.

Poor Ethan! Though i guess at least he won't do it again now (hopefully :o)! I bought the girls soap crayons for the bath last week, and Charlee thought they were food, had it all stuck in her teeth, i had to brush and brush to get it out! Would've tasted :barf: for her. I haven't given them back yet, so don't know whether she'll try again! LOL

Z, i love your bracelet! I was thinking about going with the 'eclectic' (that's not the word i was looking for, but it'll do! LOL) type of beads like yours, but i couldn't make up my mind about what colours and types i wanted! I'm really happy with mine, and everyone's commented on it! Do you find people ask about yours?

B&E, it'll take you a good couple of hours to catch up! LOL I find it really hard to reply to everyone, that's why i go AWOL for a while every do often!

Charlee has been really good today, she always is when Kenz isn't home. She plays calm by herself and doesn't whinge for me at all! I think when Kenzie is home, they both fight for my attention, and get cranky at each other.....

She slept for nearly 3 hours again today! Lucky me! I have started to finally rearrange and sort out my office/craft space. Glad to hear everyone is going well and our babies seem soo grown up.

Daylan will be going to have his own room soon as he has always slept in our room. I am sad as it 3 days since daylan has had a bahboo feed (booby) I wanted to feed him until he self weaned which he did but IO feel sad as it is because of my pregnancy and m/s that has helped!!

Anyone elses being a bit cheeky my lil man says no all the time give mummy a cuddle "no" lol, so cute. When I pretend to cry (coz he says no) he then rubs me and says "calm down" calm down, way too cute!!

I can't wait until he has his 18mnth check up, I want to know how pick he is!!

Well gotta go will be back later..
