This is not advertising. I'm nowhere near starting.
I'm currently looking at buying a new house and want to set up a beauty room.
But want to give the option of mum bringing their children cause like me I have no babysitters.
So I'm in the planning stages I'm after good tips, bad tips, any suggestions?
What would you like to see in a beauty salon or get done?
Any suggestions are welcome :)

All I know is to get council approval before you start anything.
My nail tech teacher made a really awesome nail studio at her house, but wasn't allowed to use it thanks to the council saying no... so she wasted all that money on something she couldn't even use.
I think the main things you'd need to cover are the basic beauty treatments - nails (fake and manis/pedis), massage, make-up, waxing, tinting and facials. They're what MOST people would get at a salon (as opposed to body wraps and such). You might also consider mother/daughter packages - like Mum gets a mani/pedi and so does little Miss 5-year-old with her... just a basic thing where she gets cream rubbed into her hands and pretty nail polish with a diamante on a nail or something... I know that if I took DD to a salon (even an at home one) there'd be no way in hell she'd behave unless she was promised something like this. She'd just whinge and ruin the whole experience.

I was thinking the same like a mum and daughter thing. My DD would be the same but if she was getting her nails or even a little bit of make up she would love it as we do this at home.
But feel mums would disagree with young girls getting stuff done. But it would be only natural stuff. I have three daughters who love it.
Would other mums and daughters use this service.
Was thinking setting up a little play area with toys, books, playdough, tv, playstation to amuse the child so the mum has the option of their child being occupied. Was thinking at booking I would ask what their child likes and have it set up ready.
Is this a good idea?

I think it could be a lot of work for you to have to cater individually to each client and their child.
A small set-up would be great, but would you have to be careful about sectioning parts off? You don't want the little one to go running and hit the wax pot or anything, kwim?
I know I'd have no issue with DD getting her nails painted - it's hardly the same as a mother/daughter brazilian or fake tan or whatever... lol.
