DS has been getting red spots on and off, usually 10 or so scattered about his body ranging from 1cm to .5cm round, that have small white flat spots in the centre which eventually come to the surface, then looks like a small bite or pimple? He si getting them at least once a week.

He is now over a year old and still getting them. Would he be too young to see an allergist?

I dont know what else it could be?

Have seen a skin specialist, and i dont think he knows either

Thanks for your help

Have you noticed if they appear when he eats a particular food/plays in a certain park or part of the backyard? Could even be something like playing with playdough causing it.

I'd ask the dr for a referal to a specialist. Even if the dr doesn't think it's worthwhile, at least something will get done to work out what is causing the spots and how to treat/prevent them.

That sound like what my DD gets and I cant put it down to one thing in particular that she eats.
Our Dr has just started to do allergy testing in his clinic, so we are getting that done next week. I guess if it shows up anything he will pass us on to a speciaist?
Kids are never to young to get tested, my DD is 16 mths old

Thank you so much for your replies :)
I am the same, I cant seem to put it down to anything inparticular....Its so frustrating....I will go book him in to the doc again and demand a refferal to an allergist!!
Good luck with finding out what your DD is allergic to....Let me know how she gets on with it ;)

Hi,

My DD got a skin ***** test at 6 months, after a very severe outbreak of hives the first time she had Cow's Milk Formula at 5 1/2 months. I am not sure what the situation is like in Adelaide but up here the waiting lists for Allergy Specialists are terrible. In February we got a referral and were told the earliest we could get in would be September !!!! Luckily our GP pushed hard and we got bumped up the list and were able to get in really quickly when someone cancelled. So if you are wanting to get it checked out it might be an idea to get a referral soon.

She was tested for the top 10 allergens at the time, and we will be going back for follow up testing next year.

Good luck I hope that it all works out, and you can find out what the trigger is.
