How many of you have made up a name? Even if you didn't use it or you later found out it was already a name... I'm curious to hear them. :)

While I was pregnant and we weren't totally sure what we were having, I mean I know it was a baby but what sex ..... I couldn't call our baby it so we called our growing bundle MINIUS, ( mini - us! ) it really stuck and we had all our friends and family calling my growing belly Minius, now it sounds like a normal name to us. Don't worry Minius became Maggie!

We have made up a girls name if we have one. I check all the baby name books when I see them but haven't see it yet. Here's hoping our ttc success is a girl cause we are getting sick of keeping it a secret and everyone in our family are dying to know what it is.

My friends husband made up their daughters name. I cant remember from what exactly I think from two signs blocked in the middle by something. Thay called her that name. Casala, most people call her Lee-Lee for short. Their other daughter is Couper-Lillie. They work for some reason. I think it is great.

Hi;

My neice's has a daughter and her middle name is "shanice" named after her parent shane & Janice, I think it sounds nice and it was great to include both of them when naming the baby.

At one time I thought I'd like to call a daughter Jayenne (jay-EN). I've never seen it in a baby book and I thought it a bit self obsessed to use it, as its a variation of my middle name, Jaye.

Cheers

Our DD3 is named Tiahli Amba. It is pronounced Tee-AH-lee...I made up one day after throwing a few names around in my head. DP loved it and he chose her middle name. I'd never heard of another Tiahli till last month...a lady wrote to me asking where I had gotten the name from as her daughter is Tiahly...
I just hope it doesn't get too common now....I love that it's pretty original... :p

I know an Alkeira, a Princess (actual name!), Zedaan, Pattin, Klaye, Keesa, Vasku. For DS's middle name I wanted it to be just the letter D (to symbolize my family name) but birth/deaths wouldnt allow it so we made his middle name DEE instead my DH hates it and always teases me saying how horrible it is to have the middle name DEE but I think its cute :p

When I was younger I made up a girls name.... Shimarie (Shi-mar-ee). DH didn't like it though :( Luckily we had a boy instead!!! My friends were pregnant and I was talking to DH about them one day and my mouth got ahead of my brain (happens quite often :D ) and instead of calling them Brett and Megan I said 'Breegan' - I thought that would have been a good name for their bub - they didn't think so though :rolleyes:

My cousin Allan and his wife Nina named their first DD Allina (All- ina). So as to use a part of each of their name. I dont' think that I have heard the name anywhere else.

When we first started thinking of a name, my husband was throwing around silly ideas and came up with Moonsong. I said that's really rather nice, and it seems to have stuck. We probably won't use it for baby's first name (she's due in February) but maybe as a middle name.
