Hi all! Oooh, a new thread all for us!
Well, Eliana had a go in a jolly jumper my friend has lent out. It's attached to the pergola and she managed a bit of boinging but looked a bit miffed with it all. She's about he right age so hopefully she'll start to get more out of it since she is wanting to be upright. My other 2 children were entranced and wanted to boing her around so I had to put some boundaries down!
Take care, love to you all x

Wowee! A new place of chitter-chatter!

I think I'm getting Cobey's cold. He's doing much better, just can't shake his sniffles.
I found a truely awesome phone number to call the other day for kids health, I found that one of Cobey's nostrils were completely blocked, so I called up to ask how to fix it :D They were heaps nice and gave me the way to go.
The number is 3862 2333 or 1800 177 279 (outside Brisbane)
We now own a de-booger-iser (commonly known as an aspirator) which cobey HATES. Poor sausage.
:ecomcity: Constantly on about my sick kid. :fingerscrossed: he'll be all smiles soon. The real problem is.... I can feel me getting it now.

I cannot get over how much Cobey has grown in the short 11 weeks we've known him. I saw a teeny tiny baby today, 1 week old. "Aawww" I clucked.. "how big was she born.. she's so tiny!!"
"8 lb 10 oz."
*gasp* Cobey was only 7lb 4 oz!!!!! How could he have been SMALLER than that wee mite? Crazy.

Bessie - we're looking at getting a Jolly Jumper from a friend on this forum!! Cobey won't know what to do with himself! (he loves to stand and 'launch')

 ok hi jessie im jas from perth, mum to esha 2.5yrs and Gi 9weeks.....I often read the july bubbas threads as i seem to have so much in common with alot of the ppl and seekrit for some reason your posts ALWAYS put a smile on my face...thank you  but i dont post much cause im to lazy:o

Gi has been a full on little boy, not like my dd at all, she never cried but gi cries all the time...in the cot..in the pram..in the car..i think its reflux/colic?? He does seem to improve every week though and lucky for him he is SO SO cute!! It seems like alot when wrong after he was born the whole family got really bad flus the day after he was born so we were all reall sick for about 2 weeks then when he was 5 weeks old i broke my toe on the bed:thumbsdown: but now it really seems everything is getting better! We are even going to start playgroup next week so poor dd can get out of the house for a while!

ummm i hope that dosent sound to much like a whinge, cause i am so so happy with my new little man!!

Mother Duck
02-10-2006, 11:41
Not at all - there are few things in life harder than a reflux bubba (especially by the time you get to three months in!) - good news X 2 - first there are several other mums on here who will know exactly how you feel and will be more than happy to lend an ear - secondly it should improve dramatically in the next short time - reflux doesn't usually last more than 3 or 4 months (touch wood)

anyway  - will add you to our list!

Good afternoon.

Today is has been so much better then yesterday  . Nix has been very happy, and not chucking up at all today. Bodhi is having asleep at the moment. He hasn't missed his dummy at all, which is great, but he woke up at 4.30am and didn't go back to bed  .

I am also looking forward to friday, can't wait to catch up again and meet Jessie and Jayney.

Might go and grab some sleep while Bodhi is sleeping.

Hi all...

Wow fresh new surrounds!! LOL

Mell - Pip was a bit like that yesterday too... especially last night, but our weekend was anything but routine so I forgave her for it...

HIGA & Seek - I'm joining you on the sniffles front... not happy jan...

Well I ended up going out in town with a few friends after the Hen's night Sat night... I hated it... just proved that I wasn't chickening out the other week, it just doesn't interest me in the slightest... so at least now I know that!! Mind you the couple of rums I had tasted great Seek!!

Was so lazy yday and just caught up on sleep... thankfully Pip was in for that too....

Welcome Jas... these are a great group of chickies... very supportive and very helpful!!

 Hi Jas! Welcome Welcome! Don't worry about sounding like a whinge! I'm about to do a damn big one!!

Mell - good to hear that Bodhi's dummy isn't being missed! Good on him!! (and you!)

Maria - I don't think Cobey's too far for laughing.... he makes a noise when he smiles but doesn't quite get the giggle going.

Kaz - I've been downing a couple of rums. Now that Cobey sleeps through I know I can crack one after his 8.30 - 9.30 feed with no worries :D

Now.
WAAAAAAA HELP ME! :(
Cobey cried from 5.15 - 7...... At 5.15 it was IN HIS SLEEP that he was crying. So I fed him, he started crying straight after, then Chris came home, by that time it was 5.50, I was crying at that stage, rocking Cobey, patting him, I'd changed him but that didn't help. Chris suggested a bath, he cried through the bath. I gave him some gripe water because I'm sure it's a wind pain, he cried while we changed him, managed to get a singlet and a nappy on him before it became too stressful for the 3 of us, (lucky it's a warm night) then Chris put Cobey in the sling and bounced him, then he was asleep. Bliss. Put him down....
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... okay, back to the sling, he watched TV, then got handed to me, which was fine, he was asleep, woke and cried, so I fed him again, he completely passed out and we were able to put him down (upright, in the rocker with the vibrate button going)

Where's my perfect baby gone?????? He wasn't crying the whole time, but if he wasn't cuddled, he was crying and he was crying tears :crying:

I'm actually wondering if it WAS wind pain or teeth or what. The only reason that I think teeth is because he's been dribbling lately, and chewing my finger. However I can't SEE teeth down the bottom so I just don't know.
He did a fart but kept on crying.. *sigh*

I'm also sad today because I had to adjust the straps on his car seat to be biggerer. My little baby is getting bigger.

Seek - not sure I have any good advice... but Pip has been a bit whingy lately too which is not like her... I bought Robin Barkers book the other day because she had been dribbly and putting her hands in her mouth HEAPS and I was thinking surely she has to be too young to be teething at about 6 weeks.... and yeah apparently dribbling is more a developmental thing....as is the fists in the gob...

Just made some choc caramel muffins.... mmmmmm....

Hey.... has anyone used one of those Bumbo chair thingys.... they look good... was thinking of trying one out...

Hey gals

Well, when I first read Jessie's post I was so UPSET - I thought you'd forgotten all about lil old me in Perth, then i read on and was relieved. Please add me darlin Jess!

Welcom Jas - still wondering where our Jaclyn from Perth has gone. What part of Perth are you in? There are a few of us WA'ers.

Nikki - you poor darling. Thank God you've got Chris for support. It's horrid when our babes are inconsolable. I don't have any words of wisdom - not really confident in my own parenting at the moment - but perhaps KAz is right. i do think mine will be an early teether as we've been able to see his teet through the gums from day dot and they've never gone up again.

Kaz - can I have a muffin? By the way, I'm still seriously thinking of getting a bumbo chair. am in Perth for appointments and a shop at the moment, so perhaps I'll check them out tomorrow.

By the way, Sydney gals - i'll be in Sydney for a conference in August next year, so perahps we can all meet up??

Anyway off to settle my unsettled man - if i can...

Love to all

Seekrit
02-10-2006, 21:30
Kaz - I'm thinking of getting a bumbo chair as well, but I do have the high chair which he likes to sit in! :D
(thanks for the tip, girls!)

Cobey woke again and cried, but it was a different cry, he was hungry. He got fed and has been asleep since.

Tomorrow I think I'm going to do some cooking therapy. I think some choc-chip cookies are in order..

Rach, I thought the same thing when I first read Jessie post..... Then I keep reading and discovered I wasn't forgotton, I just hadn't posted!!!!
Also, please dont doubt your parenting. I gain so much advice and idea's from your posts. I'm sorry I haven't told you that earlier (am blaming my pregnant brain!!) My Mum said something to me when L was about 6 wks, if I stress then L picks up on it and stresses and then I stress more and so the circle continues. There is no one in this world your boys want more than you. AND, would love to meet you when your in Sydney!!
:hugs: Your way, hope you're feeling more confident soon xx
Seek, Master C must be getting close to the 12 wk growth spurt now??? Miss L started her growing and grumpiness from around 10wks and we still have our yucky days.... (she's 13 wks tomorrow, Happy 13wks Kai!!) Sometimes she's inconsolable. (sp?) Hoping your happy boy returns soon for you.
Wanted to post some more, but am exhausted. Am heading down to Syd for the night tomorrow, back Wed, will try and post before we head off, if not dont have too much fun without me!
xxx and ooo to all!

Hi guys, just a quickie.

:hugs: to all and happy 10, 11, 12 & 13 weeks to all. Yes bubs can get a bit grumpy, it's all part of growing up. If it get a bit too much call your friendly CHN who might be able to help.

I have a theory that there must be sonthing that happens to the mums at 12 weeks as well. Do we run out of feel good endorphins or something? I know my hair has started to fall out, (totally normal dont freak out). Maybe we are tired, and those fat stores put on during pregnancy are running out (I wish lol) resulting in loss of energy.

I'm not making sense I am sick and have lost my voice, every time I want to sleep I cant, every time I get the opportunity to sleep I dont want to. I have a meeting for work tomorrow and the project budget is paying for childcare (woohoo!) but I am really too sick to go.

Bugger.

Good morning

Well i thought i was in for a big night last night. Nix went to sleep about 5pm and was still asleep at 7pm so i thought i should wake him up so he isn't up all night, but he wouldn't wake up, so i just left him. Bodhi and I went to bed at 8pm (i was soo tired), he woke up at 10pm for a fed, went straight back down till 2am, had another feed, then back down to 6am and he is still asleep now. He must be growing or something.

Nikki i hate trying to play :detective: with babies, it is so bloody hard. I wish some times they come with a book.

Jas, i hope they sleep in in the morning.

So Mich, have i missed something or are you preggers

Kaz, they sound yummy, i love anything with caramel in it.

Is anyone still taking any pregnancy and breastfeeding vitamins. I stopped about 3 weeks ago, and i have been feeling really run down and tired the last week, so i think i might go and get some Evelit today.

Better go and get Bodhi ready for kindy and then off to do some food shopping.

Chat later:wave:

Glad to hear you had such a good night!!, must fly, am trying to pack!! xxxx

My through-sleeper woke at 2 to cry. He cried in his bassinet, he cried in his bouncer beside the bed, he cried when being jiggled.
He slept when taking up ALL OF MY SIDE of the bed.
So there he slept. And there he is again (after chowing at 7... then at 8.30.... okay.. maybe growth spurt? I'll see if this pattern continues).
I, consequently, suffered the worst night sleep since I had him. In fact last night was how I thought having a baby would be. Only I didn't expect to be squished in the middle of the bed, between the husband who and the baby who both made themselves bigger than what they are!
Cobey's 11 weeks btw.

Mich - to avoid confusion I call it Parenting Brain. :p
Have fun in Sydney! :D

Jas - Just drink a diet coke with your chocolate cake, the calories balance out and... umm.. that's my theory.... hahaha!

Havent had a chance to get on here over the weekend. Had my sisters stay over saturday night and most of sunday (they're 8 and 11) so had my hands full.. Kai didnt deal with it too well, think the girls were a little too full on for him. Everytime I turned around he'd been picked up or had a bottle or something shoved in his mouth, poor little bugger.. he wasn't a happy man until they left lol..
got an appointment with the CHN today at 2pm, cant wait to see what he weighs now lol.. Sincce he's worked out how to blow rasberries he's stopped 'talking' and just blows bubbles at everyone and looks all proud of himself

might make some breakky while both boys are momentarily happy..

Well Pip is still all out of sorts... grumpy bum she is... managed to put herself to sleep finally on the study floor..... though she did sleep from 11.30pm til 8am this morning.... so happy days for me!

Nel - I have two sisters that are 10 and 14 that are like yours... always fighting over holding Pip... my 20 yr old sis is not much better either... lucky for me Pip loves the attention....

Mell - I started taking the pregnancy and breastfeeding vitamins again in a hope to get some more energy....

Mmascore - I'm a huge believer in that stress idea.... my cousins babies are a perfect example.... they are sooooo off the rails because of how unorganised and all over the shop she is...

Rach - def let us know when you are going to Sydney for the conference... I'll try and head down to Syd to meet up too....

Anyway must go and have a late shower and post yet another assignment...

hello to all you beautiful people who are doing an amazing job being parents - hope everyone is diong well (or as well as can be)!!!!!

Jas and Stelleralla - welcome to you both :smiliedance: we are a lovely bunch and we're always here for each other so it's great to have more people to support!!!!

Seek - big :hugs: to you. i hope Master C is well again soon. it could also be teeth though, the dribbling adn the other things he does is what Angel did. she also cries for no other reason throughout the day at the moment and the cry they have with teeth is different, it's like they're crying while they're biting down - well that's the best i can describe it!!!!

Rachdent - big :hugs: to you aswell, you are such a wonderful person and mother - don't ever doubt yourself. the fact that you worry so much about being a good parent shows that you are the best mum for your kids!!! and Mich is right, my mum said the same thing and it's very true

and lotsa love to all who i've missed and who are having troubles!!!

Shea - are you ok? we love you and miss you - we hope you're doing well :hugs:

well, Angel is in so much pain with her teethypegs. i know that you guys don't like taking them for needsl, but at least with that it will only last a couple of days max, Angel's in pain all the time throughout the day and i hate that there's not much you can do to help - it makes me so sad to see her like that.

anyway, must go. time for dindin soon - lots of love to you all, might get on later. i'm looking forward to Friday and Ady has written out directions so i don't get lost hahahaha!!!!! xxoo

Chris looked at the map and said "Oh, just go PAST the shops.. DON'T GO INTO THEM!"

Kel - I don't think the boy is teething, I can't see or feel them so I think it's just dribbles for fun, although he was chewing on my finger in the waiting room and there was dribble galore!!
Hmm.. but with the wheeze, cough and snot-nose.. I'd say that it IS the bronch. Eagerly awaiting the next feed, that's when I can dose him up.

Also! Stella!! Sorry, I was too wrapped up in my sick bub to say hello to you. My next bub will (hopefully) be a birth centre bub! I didn't go with Cobes because I was afraid that I might want an epi, as it turns out I didn't need one! :yelclap:

Kel, Sean is writing out directions for me too, other wise i will never get there. Pool little Angel, it is so hard seeing them in pain.

Nikki, i am glad you got some answers on why he has been so unsettled. And i agree, when you know the reason why they are upset, it is so much easer to deal.

I am so looking forward to friday.:smiliedance: Nikki, the pumpkin scones sound good.

Nel, he is a little tank, Nix has only just reached 6kgs. The photos are so cute.

Bodhi has Kindy today, so Nix and i just kicked around home all day.

Hi guys,

Just letting you all know that my broadband is finally back on as of tonight!!!

It'll take me awhile to catch up with all that's been happening, but I'll start any personals from next time I log on.

Just quickly, all going well with Mr A and Miss K, but had a rough day with Mr A being whingy and Miss K not sleeping well during the day and going on a feeding frenzy. I'm putting it down to an unsettled weekend where we watched the grandfinal on Saturday (Yay to the Eagles and to hubby for picking Andrew Embley as the Norm Smith medallist - and winning $210), going to the Perth Royal show on Sunday and for a picnic lunch in Freo yesterday - I'm exhausted too.

Somehow I don't think I'll be on here too long tonight regardless of my excitement of being back online.

PS It was hubby who said "Honey, aren't you excited, you can go on bubhub again - what are you going to say? Boo, Pegasus is back?" Yes, my husband makes a living of trying to be like my son who spends his time (if he thinks I'm ignoring him) saying Muum, Muum, Mum...Boo!

Talk more later, just for now, it's good to be back.

jas

Hello girlies,
I havnt been on for a while as i have been really busy and havnt really posted much on here although i have been reading  .Sasha is getting really big i think he is around 6kg he is in 000 and STILL growning very quickly. My dd grew no where near as quick as Sasha at this age she was still in 0000's .He is a big booofer LOL he is as big as my friends six month old dd.But apparently boys grow quicker,he is cooing and kahing tonight he was too cute cooing and kahing at his sister and cracking up laughing at her,he is a real smiler and he laughs alot like a little belly laugh has been doin it for a while. He is still a really good baby sleeps from about 10pm-7am and has another morning nap and then an arvo nap the rest of the day hes awake.Im still bf'ing and everything there is going great as you can tell by his weight LOL.My ds is NEARLY sitting up by himself he seems to be really steady headed,he also tries to sit up when i lay him down.He had his 2 month old needles last week and he screamed then the next day he had a reaction the them and came down with a Temp.I gave him some panadol and then he was ok thank god.I have some photos you will see how much he has grown these are my latest photos-

Hi jas

my fitball is in use whenever I try to get my dd to sleep and she's unsettled. I sit on it and bounce - works wonders. I also use it a bit for sensory stimulation for both my kids. (Poor things having a therapist as a mother - the fitball is an essential piece of equipment for all ages, for postural muscle exercises and sensory stimulation). Only problem is me trying to organise exercise time for me without my son or daughter needing my attention.

I've tried to do an aerobic tape with my son, and he does about 5 - 10mins before he asks for wiggles - lol.

Only exercise for me at the moment is pushing the pram - roll on better weather.

oh thats a good idea, i will have to try it next time i cant settle ds, seeing as though i enjoy bouncing around on it so much anyway!! yes sometimes it hard to do exercises on the ball with a 2 year old climbing on it as well!

Oi Oi Oi, oh what a night bbllleeerrrgggghhhhh. Up and down like a jack in the box. All because small people's routines were out of whack as I sent them to a different childcare for a whole 3.5 hours whilst I went to a work meeting.

This was a very very expensive childcare (work paid) where all was provided (except formula but thats ok). In that time I dont think my kids ate or drank anything, and I dont think Patrick slept! To their credit I'm sure they offerred E food, but as she was nervous I reckon she would have refused.

I think they got so excited at having a small baby around that Mr P got passed from carer to carer and never slept as he loves attention.

so i came to find 2 very tired and hungry peeps who fell asleep at 3pm with out a proper dinner

Hey Pegasus! Long time no see :) BOO!!
And hey Jaclyn :)

Jas - I have a fitball but I only use it to settle Cobes if he's really out of sorts . I really SHOULD use it as it's intended.. right?

Cobey's 7000000 times better today, he's SO happy! My little boy is back!
He's been playing cheeky games with me lately. Like he'll be a grizzle-bum because he's tired, so I put the dummy in his mouth and he smiles like a cheeky little monkey and turns his head. tsk!
But when he IS tired, I can hold the dummy to his lips and he 'pushes' my hands to put the dummy in his mouth :)
He also grabbed a toy (not from me, but it was in front of him so after bashing it with a closed fist he worked out to open his hand)! YAY!!!

He's so clever!! I loves him I do!

Hey Gals

And welcome back Jaclyn - I've been awondering where you've been???

Seekrit - glad to hear Cobes is on the mend. i'm off to the docs in half an hour for Lachlan (and a pap- yuk) to check out this cold that he's had since birht. Surely they can do something!!!!

Well, I bought a Bumbo seat yesterday. Felt a bit guilty as they seem a tad overpriced but it seems good. Looking forward to using it for the little man.

thanks so much Mich, Kel and anyone i've forgotten for those kind words about my parenting skills. What would I do without you lot..?

anyway not much else to say today as have to hurry to docs...

Hi girls, welcome back Pegasus!
You've got me thinking about getting a fit ball and tring to exercise although I'm a bit scared what with all my pelvic problems...today has been  especially since DS cut up my favourite nightie when I was cleaning the laundry. I'm having a few problems with him nowadays.
Well, I'm off to get a nap if I can! tt4n

Hi all,

glad to hear that coby is all better seekrit - is it soooo horrible when they are sick and you can do nothing for them.

speaking of being sick, he is completely better and back to himself. except for the fact that he hates sleeping during the day EVEN more now than he did before he was sick. the only way i could get him to sleep before was to cuddle him to sleep and now that is failing. so he just ends up absolutely exhausted after about 4 -5 hours of being awake and then sleeps for 40 mins and wakes up screaming cause he is tired. when, oh when will end? i am booked in to tresillian on the 24th of this month but i dont think i can handle this for much longer. dh is also going to be working stupidly long hours for the next few weeks (7am - 7pm) so its gonna suck big time. i just want one day of not crying.....

sorry for the whinge, again, its all i bloody seem to do on here so i appologise. but i did tell one of my friends about my pnd, so i'm getting some where.

omg, i just got him to sleep in his cot after 1 and a 1/2 hours and now 10 mins later he is awake again......................... what the f*** do i try now :banghead: :crying:

is it my turn for a whinge! soz guys ive had the utter worst day! brianna was complaining alllllllllllll day. natalia , well natalia is natalia, she just go go goes, and lina was really grizzly all day, feed after feed after feed, my bbs are red raw, my eyes are stinging (yes i was crying) and my head is absolutely pounding.
im normally the sort of person who can handle these situations, but for some reason, today just got the better of me.

im really sympathising with you gals who have been having alot of trouble, ie lack of sleep, trouble feeding etc etc, but you's are seriously coping marvelously.

im thinking i better shush up. as i feel like crying again. i think i might go and have a glass of wine.

 everyone.

Shea - big huge :hugs: & to you. i wish i could be there to help you out even if it meant i took Connor for thed ay so you had some peace. i'm thinking of you always. you will make it to tresillian because you are a strong person, you have made it this far, you can't give up now. i know you've heard this millions of times, but hang in there, you're a great mum and you can make it till the 24th. and even though dh is working long hours, give Connor to him when he gets home and just go outside or to a friends house, even if it's for half an hr, just get away from Connor. it won't make you feel better til the 24th, but you'll feel better for that half hr. sending lots of love your way, xxoo.

well, i hope everyone else is going ok. poor Angel was screaming with her teeth for 1-2hrs tonight. i feel like crying with her, not because i feel inadequate but because i can't do anything to help her. it's so different when you know why they're crying.

ots of love to everyone :hugs: xxoo

Seekrit - glad to hear Cobes is doing better.

HIGA - :hugs: to you - isn't that 2.5year age a good one?!? They do just go and in my house if I get him down (only took half an hour today - was taking 2 hours last week everyday...whoo hoo), then little miss K is bound to get up.

I thought her sleep patterns were very different to her older brother, but it seems during the day she's incapable of sleeping properly by herself. Overnight she sleeps all night, but during the day she's always up within 10 or 15mins of me putting her down. Obviously I need to work harder at settling her to sleep in her bassinette, but it does get hard as when I try to do this I'm bound to hear a scream or have someone drive a car up my legs when I'm starting it. It just seems easier to get her to sleep in my arms and carry her round so I know where she is:shame:

To all you NSW mums - enjoy your meet, looks like Rachdent, Bessie, Jaclyn and I are the only WA mums here at the moment - maybe we should organise a meet one day? Hang on - aren't you here too Jas?

I missed the end of the other thread - did we get anywhere with the talk of the Uluru meet?

Shea - :hugs: to you - hope things are going a bit smoother now.

TS - I hear you about daycare - I'm sure the handing round of my son has contributed to his sleeping problems. At least it looks like I'll be lucky enough not to have to return to work till next year at the moment. Yay! Much better than the 10weeks I had off with my son.

Sorry If I've missed anyone out, I'm just getting back into this after my very long absence. It's amazing how I was able to fill in my time without bubhub (but how excited I was when I had it back on).

:D for now and chat again tomorrow.

Jessie the 10th or 11th???? Of October????? NOOOOOOOOO!

IM GOING TO BE IN MELBOURNE:crying:

and I'm only there for 2 nights:(

any other days and I am there! (with the exception of Monday daytime as I am at work, but you are welcome to come visit me there, might find you something interesting to do!)

Was yesterday a full moon, or are we just all smack bang in the middle of the 12 week change thingy? My day sucked too, it culminated (sp) in me scrambling to make an appointment at 4pm only to find the bloody bank had no record of my appointment gggrrrrrrr. Bright note I am a total ALDI convert did groceries for $100 (normally $160+) but many many things opened and eaten by Estella, and Paddy cried his eyes out in the carrier.

I was gunna post this in the main section as awwww how nice post. Yesterday in the fruit shop E was playing up (taking off her shoes and throwing them n the floor) and Mr P was crying. The young guy there opened up an extra checkout so I wouldn't have to wait, then gave me a staff discount on everything! what a sweetie! (and a hottie too! 18y.o girls he is your man!)

sorry no personals, I'm not a snob there is just too much some days and I'm still not with it.

Good morning

Shae big :hugs: . You are doing a great job and Connor loves you so much. Not much longer to go and hopefully things will become alot more enjoyable for you. Connor couldn't ask for a better caring mummy.

Glad to hear Cobey is heaps better, it is so good to see them smiling again.

Bessie, hope you have a better day today :hugs: .

Maria, hope your day is better today aswell. Kids, why do we do it  hahaha (just jokes)

Kel poor little Angel. Thank god i didn't have any trouble with Bodhi's teeth. His 2 bottom teeth were out and i didn't even know. My best friend told me. lol.

Jessie can't wait to meet you tomorrow. Chat to you then.

pegasus, great to have you back. :yelclap:

Kim, good to hear that there is still some nice guys out there. You got to love a good perv, shhhh i didn't say that hehehe.

My iron died yesterday so i went to kmart to get a new one, and they only had one that i liked for $99.95 but it wasn't' cordless, so i went to David Jones and they had the same one for $89.95, bargain, so i grabbed that one, so now i have to do some ironing today.

Brissis mummas, chat to you all tomorrow, can't wait.

Better go, Bodhi is down stairs yelling at the dog for something.

Chat later

Also I'm in WA toooooo :p
I think Kai's teeth are starting to move, he hasnt been too upset but definately isnt his happy self these last 2 days. hopefully he's not like his brother and get them 2at a time.. granted it gets the whole teething thing over with sooner but it must hurt soo much..

Gorgeous Mell :D

Can someone have a look in their bub's mouth for me.. :p
Cobey has a white raised areaunder his gum.. but not as his bottom middle teef, they're along from the bottom-middle teeth, I guess where the molars start... on both sides.
I'm just curious is all.. I don't think they're teef but who knows.
His mouth will be open for display tomorrow, brisbanites! :p

Peg & Nell - Cobey's the same. He'll maybe have one long nap a day, all the rest are catnaps.. or even less than catnaps..

Is he going through his 12 week change as well maybe? He's being VERY demanding of my attention (sometimes needs me just in view of him all the time, even when dropping to sleep) having episodes at night of crying inconsolably. Not settling himself as well as he used to.
It's hard because he's been unwell so I just don't know....

Aah dear.. Dr Phil's on and I have a sore throat to lie down with :(

Very cute Mel...

Well Pip is still a way off the 12 wk mark just yet but I'll add her to the list of grumpy babes.... Seek she is acting just like Cobes... she was sooooo good to start with but lately she is getting harder to settle.... has this horrid new cry WITH tears.... is a little fussy on the boob..... but sleeps fine through the night..... and yeah she wants to be able to see me most of the time when she's awake otherwise I get yelled at to get back there....

Decided to book her into the docs to get needles done next week rather than go to the immunisation clinic.... and going to get her weighed and measured next week hopefully... if I can get hold of the CHN....

Jess - good to see you back... hope things are looking up... wish I lived a little closer to Syd and I would have ventured down next week for coffee but unfortunately I have another darn uni assignment due....

TS - Wish we had those sort of checkout guys up here... would make the shopping experience a whole lot more pleasurable... LOL..

Well I've just put her to bed in her cot with the blinds closed.... hoping I have more success with getting a decent nap out of her this way....

oh yeah, witht he sleeping thing. Angel will have a sleep with me after her 5.30am feed and we sleep till bout 8.30-9am. then she just has little half hr naps during the day, if that. then will have another sleep after her 5.30pm feed and usually taht's 1-2hrs then after her 9.30pm feed she sleeps through :D so we have a good day usually :yelclap: but when i work apparently she might only ahve catnaps during the day. i think she sleeps well in the morning cause i bring her into bed with me and we go back to sleep together. i actually think i go to sleep before her and then she gets bored and has no other choice but to go to sleep

WOW - there's been an explosion of posts since I checked in yesterday morning. The last few days have been hectic as we were in Perth till late last night and I didn't have a moments rest (save the couple of hours I get between nightly feeds) in the last few days. So today I took the most of every sleep opportunity.

Mell - You iron? Ás a self-confessed iron-phobic, I'm impressed!!!

Pegs - great you're back online. We should try to organise a PErth meet - I'll be up for the Wiggles concert (yeah, I'm crazy) November 30th, so perhaps around then. By the way, I think Nel lives in WA too.

HIGA and Shea - my thoughts are with you guys. I know how tough it is when things are... well... tough.

Good morning

Had a good night last night. Bodhi had a good sleep as well but he has been up since 5.30am. I think he see that it is light and he thinks it is time to get up. Nix only woke up at 3.30 for a feed and is still asleep now.

Jessie hope you get rid of the mastitis for good this time. Hope to meet you at the next catch up:hugs:

Maria, don't worry about Nattie, i am sure she will be fine. Bodhi is around the same age and he does not stop from the time he gets up to the time he goes to bed. I wish i had his energy.

Shae it is so good when you find something that works with then sleeping. Nix sometimes sleeps better on his side as well. Let us know how you go with the Jolly Jumper.

Better go and start to get things orgaised. It is one of Bodhi's teachers last day today, and i forgot to go and flowers last night so now i have to find somewhere that sells flowers this morning.

I think I figured out why MR P has been a bit on the unhappy side lately...

He was hungry, I just cant keep up with his demand:crying: I think it must be due to my flu, I've been topping him up after feeds (I know norty norty:shame: ) and he's been taking an extra 100ml.

sorry to hear about your mastitis again jess :hugs:

Star.. don't feel bad. I think this is the source of Cobey's cranky as well, He starts around 5pm.. (I think this is when I have a supply dip) the other night I felt completely empty and resorted to hand expressing what I could as he latched on. :(

Then I had a massive serve of oats with brewers yeast on top and I feel 'full' again, although for his last feed last night I felt empty again.. I think that's why he wanted another feed at 10.30.

*yawn* I should've gone back to bed. I tried, I did.

Cobey cut himself with his nails above his eye, right on his eyelid.. so scared he'd get his eye :( Out came the clippers again.

Good to hear you had a good night Jas (mmm roast lamb!!)

ANyhow, I should have a shower while I have the chance!! Toodles ladies! (see some of you later)

morning all,

well last night he didn't want to go down after his 5pm feed - which he normally always does but the last few days he hasn't. so being an awful mother i did the control crying thing and it worked. left him for 5 mins and then went in. i only had to do thqat about 4 or so times and then he was out. soooo, i am going to try it today with his normal sleeps. :fingerscrossed: it works this time. i feel horrible doing it as all the chn and books and things say that this is the stressful way of doing it for them and so forth, but there is not much more i can do....... even cuddling him to sleep now is failing.

i have a shocking memory and can't remeber who said they were going to start solids at 4 months? i'm thinking i might do this with connor as he is drink about 1L of formula a day and he polishes off a full bottle about twice a day. so would this be a good idea? any thoughts please

Shea - you are NOT an awful mother - survival is the name of the game at the moment.

I've been busily expressing this morning as I'm just getting no sleep at night and it's time to try a bottle for one of the late night feeds, or I won't be with you all much longer...I said to mum yesterday, 'what doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger, but I'm scared this is gonna kill me'. So have expressed a whole feed and will let DH feed midnightish.

Last night I made a huge effort to get out of bed to feed to ensure he didn't fall asleep after only a few sucks and to make sure I burped him properly. Didn't make one iota of difference. He fed at 8.30pm - woke at 10, 11, then I fed again at 12pm, woke at 3 tried to settle, fed at 3.30, woke at five - managed to settle, fed again at 7. I just feel like I'm out of bed more than I'm in it.

Ham is in daycare today and I was gonna make the house spotless before DH came home as he has the arvo off and I know will make the house spotless then, but I just wanted to let him enjoy his arvo instead of feel he has to take care of us...:banghead:

Sorry for my whinge...

yep I am in Perth too, a meet would be great! not too sure about the wiggles concert though
Shea dont feel bad, if it worked and you didnt feel he was getting to stressed then  I'm going to start Kai on solids at 4mnths probably.. he's just such a little guts lol.. I gave him some mashed tatoe and gravy the other night and he LOVED it..
TS I have resorted to giving Kai one bottle during the day and one in the evening coz I just cant keep up with him and he's alot more settled in the evenings now.

anywho better get Zac his breakky.. cant think what else I was going to post anyway lol

Hi all,

Shea, whatever works for your little guy to get some sleep is fine. Heaps of people use "controlled comforting" at this age (I know I do, even for the super laid back Mr P). You do a fantastic job in such a tough situation, you are a certified wondermum.

:hugs: Rach, hope getting your DH to feed tonight gets you some extra needed sleep

i was going to hang out to 5-6 months for solids, but am now thinking with the food situation i may start sooner. i still have a freezer full of great stuff as estella only just got teeth

have fun today brissie mums, and jess what is happening next week?

cheers

Well we have been busy little posters... :)

:hugs: To all those having no love sleeping, feeding, settling, with boobies, etc...

Hope you brissie gals are having a great morning!!

Well I think we are finally starting to come out the other of "Little Miss Grumpy"... Pip seems to be starting to actually sleep again during the day which is bliss....

TS - I have been supplementing Pip for a while now.... I just couldn't keep up with her cos she takes quite a lot at each feed, so her last feed before bed is a bottle of formula and since we've been doing that she sleeps through the night long.... as everyone said... whatever works for you is best for bub... I think my milk is only just starting to catch up with her now.. she's finally starting to stop fussing on the boob...

Bought a bumbo seat on ebay yday... she has great head control and loves to sit up so I'm thinking it will keep her entertained for a while...

Rach - I'm sure hubby wouldn't mind cleaning if it means you can be a little better rested!

I think I'll be starting Pip on solids around the 4-5 mth mark.... she has a very healthy appetite...

PS. She has definitely a very "lovely" habit of late... she has been farting like a trooper... nice noisy one's too... all day long.... well at least I know she is quite adept at getting rid of her wind...

Hello dear lovelies!!!!!
Oh so much to tell you!!! Dont know if I'll remember it all!!!
Firstly, the photos!! They are so very lovely:)
Glad you Brissy Gals enjoyed catching up today. Syd/NSW gals we need to organise another!!
My darling little gal is 3 months!! Where did the time go?? She's lying here, on my lap on her back, talking to me and eating her hands. We had a good, albeit stressful time in Syd. Didn't get to Chatswood Westfield as I'd hoped too, nor to the beach (the boys had other plans), but Luci and I got a good amount of sleep and still enjoyed ourselves.
The photo shoot went well I think (haven't got the pics back yet) Did I tell you we were having some shots of L done?? The photographer was lovely, the session was free (some special deal) and there was no rush which was nice. Didn't get out of North Sydney till about 5:30pm L was SO over tired, and we took about 2 hrs to get home, courtesy of the M4 grid lock. She screamed and cried tons of real tears, till we were almost home, when she finally slept. Had a lovely baked dinner at Mum and Dads, after we bathed L and arrived home around 11pm!
ARGH... I forgot to write at the top of the page..... She rolled over!!!!!!! YAY! 3 months old to the day!!!!!!! She rolled once before, but it was fluke...hope this time wasn't....
Ok, mental blank....
Nikki, glad to hear you figured out what was wrong with Master C. And that he's on the mend.
ncf
Rach, am sending some sleep vibes your way. i love your positive attitude ("what doesnt kill you, makes you stronger")
Jess, :hugs: wish there was something i could do to help you.
Shea, dont feel bad about controlled comforting, sometimes it's all that works. Connor knows you love him. you're doing great.
TS, glad you figured out something to make Mr P happy!!
Kaz, glad pip is getting thru the grumpy stage!
ok, am offically brain dead. hugs and kisses to everyone i've missed. hope your all doing well. sorry for da long post. tt4n xxxx

Great day Maria, thank you! I can't believe how quickly time gets by us!!! holy smokes! :)

Such cute photos too! I'm going to have to post one or two on my flickr account so my family can see the cuties that Cobey goes to "playgroup" with

Shea - please don't worry about what you're doing. You are doing a fantastic job and you are working on things so that YOU can be a happier mummy, which will make Connor a happier baby! :hugs: to you!

Star - Hmmm I might see what the deal is around my area with mummies' milk tea...

Mich - can't wait to see the photos. I have 2 hobby photographers in my family who do GREAT photos (they did my wedding) we'll be going out to a park soon with them for that purpose!

I also see lots of bubs having photos taken on a feather doona.. it makes for such a great fluffy "cloud" affect.. I'll be doing it with cobes soon!

a big lovey hello to everyone, hope you are all having a better day than the last.

Mel, Nikki and Maria - thks for the lovely day, i love meeting up with you guys because all of us on bubhub have been there from the start. we were all supporting each other whether it was good or bad and i think it's great that although we can't meet together, there are a few little groups that meet up. so thanks for today, it's my turn next time. i will warn you though that i'm not much of a sandwich maker so it might be crackers and dip and stuff like that

shea - big :hugs: to you. you are so not a bad mum. if it makes you feel better, i did it with Angel when she was only a few weeks, not all the time but i had to or else i woulda gone nuts :o as i said before, you are doing a great job and you will raise a wonderful little boy because you care so much and getting on here and telling us all about it just shows how much you love him. sending lots of love your way, xxoo

Rach - big :hugs: to you also. i hope you can get some much needed sleep tonight. you are such a wonderful person to be able to keep going like you do and you always sound positive at some stage when you post. sending lots of love your way too, xxoo

Pegs - great you're back online. We should try to organise a PErth meet - I'll be up for the Wiggles concert (yeah, I'm crazy) November 30th, so perhaps around then. By the way, I think Nel lives in WA too.

Hmmm...note to self - check if more Wiggles tickets available!

I've been to two Hi-5 concerts with my step children and they're soo fun!!!

Mr 2 is so into Wiggles at the moment, so a Wiggles concert might be just what the doctor ordered!!!

Oh, and a great excuse for a Perth meet!!!

Okay - am putting my hand up for a venue for a Perth meet for all of us July mums...
Just think that it might be best to work in with Rach when you're in the district. Let me know a day when you'll be around and we'll work around it.

Hi Jas - the more I get back on here the more I realise why I missed when I had internet problems!

I finally got my hair cut yesterday (by my mother's hairdresser who cuts at her house so my children could be babysat by mum while I was getting a trim) - first time in 5 months!!!

Anyway - significance of that is that she said she had bought tickets for her daughter then won some and went to sell them...anyway had sold them.. Wish I'd got my hair cut last week!

Actually - I don't think DS would mind where the tickets are and he's still light enough for me to put on my shoulders! Thinking now I'll ask mum whether she wants to come to a concert!

Hi all
DH was uncomfy all night and went a bit weird all night with the stuff they gave him to calm him down. But it's a relief to think our little family is complete and soon I won't have to take the pill :smiliedance: This probably sounds a bit odd but it's lovely he did that for us, it's taken a lot of strain off the relationship as I've been on (and off) the pill since I was 18 when we were young...

Bub is doing well, the jolly jumper is good when she is active and tires her out a bit. She has said "yeah" twice to us now, whether that's coincidence or a real word I don't know.

She's also rolled a bit too. For all of you mummies, just be really careful about where you lie your bub. The sofa or bed are classics, even if your bub has never shown signs before, they can suddenly roll quite a way and off the bed or sofa. This happened with our eldest when she was just over a couple of months old and we ended up at the hospy getting her checked out.

HIGA - 3rd time round it seems to be be going really quick for us. I think you end up so busy it's rare to get those moments when you can just "be" with your bub. Those times when you can just breathe in their smell, listen to their breathing and gaze on their little faces as they sleep seem to get interrupted by all the things of the day. :crying: Hope you have a great day out! Then you need to spend lots of time with each of the other two and DH, there aren't enough hours in the day lol.

Perth girls - A day out would be lovely, perhaps when the kids are back at school... how about somewhere central or maybe even somewhere like Whiteman Park which we can drive too? (Just throwing ideas in the air, lets try and suss out what could suit us all). Where are we all based and where can you get to? BTW I'm Joondalup, will drive a way if needed but have to get back for school pickup.

Pegasus, what a shame, we saw the Wiggles last time they were in Perth and it was so much fun.

Take care, gotta go and sort out brekky. Have a good weekend everyone!

Lachlan fed at 7.45pm last night, didn't settle till 9.30 but then slept till 2.45am - I could hardly believe it. Still think perhaps I slept through a feed in the middle :)!

Also did the deed for the first time since his birth last night, so DH thinks that a cure for him sleeping through the night. Nice try MR!!

Perth gals - Pegs house or Whiteman park is fine for me. I stay in Morley when I come up, but Iw on't be up till end Nov/beginning of Dec. You guys may want to meet before then, but perhaps we could also do Dec 1st???

Have a great weekend

Hey Rach, How's Lach's cold?

Cobey's being a bit cranky pants at sleep times, he's learnt that he CAN fight the eye lids... he's also has to be feeling something when he just doesn't want to sleep. Normally it's my fingers but lately I've been replacing that with a cuddle toy. :) Cute.

Look what we got today! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/nikki_m/262782593/) :D (thanks Xkwizit!)

Good evening

Nikki Cobey must have been taking notes of Nix yesterday, fighting to go to sleep.

wooohooo Lachlan :yelclap: . Rach, i hope it is an on going thing with his sleeping.

Kaz, Pip and Nix are keeping up with the others. Cobey and Nix are pretty much the same size at the moment. Lina is so long, she is going to be another supermodel i think.

Maria have a nice time tomorrow. Hope the weather is good for you.

The worst thing happened this afternoon. I had just finished feeding Nix and went to get up of the chair at mums, and i took my hand away from the back of his head and at the same time he flung his head back. OMG i thought i was going to snap his head off. The poor little thing cried, i felt so bad. :( It would have hurt his back. He stopped crying within 30 secs but it was still bad.

Better go and give him a feed.

well the girls decided to dress up in their "sexy" clothes today, they have these cute little outfits that i scored from the markets last year, halter neck type top, with matching skirt, in pink and purple sequins! they had their fairy wings on, holding their wands and all their pretend jewellery on. i was charging the cam, so couldnt take any pics, but no doubt they will dress up again, and i will take some snippets to show. just gorgeous.

Natty had another stack today, (whats new) she was playing on her bike outside and ran into the slide, and banged her knee. oh that girl, she is so accident proned!

anyhoos im so hoping the weather is nice for tomorrow.

As for sniffing pits, my eldest used to do that, to the point we had to ban her at about the age of 5, it just got really weird

I have had a lovely day. DH has been around as he can't do much... I have spent time with each one of my brood and fell asleep cuddling Eliana, woke up just snoozy and then fell asleep again for an hour or so. Things have been hectic of late so it was lovely to have a chilled out day. Gotta go as DH has cooked dinner, funny though, I'm feeling a bit funny that we will not have any more bubbies although in my heart of hearts I know we can't cope with anymore.

Cool you can make it to Morley Rach, maybe we should book ahead for that day whether we meet earlier or not.

Okay - I'm still cool with my house, also like Whiteman park (only about 15/20 min from our house) - it's where we had Mr A's 2nd birthday party.

We'll leave this open for a bit to see if there's more interest and Rach, looks like a date when you're up might be the go.

Had a great day today - very quiet (DH didn't know what to do with no footy on). A girlfriend came to visit this morning that I haven't seen for a while. She's TTC at the moment and I gave her my maybe baby along with details of this site - wondering if she'll come aboard... If she does and reads some of my posts (I'm pretty sure she'll figure who I am) it'll be the first time I've really let my secret pasttime out.

I think DH is finally starting to appreciate Miss K - he's so much more happy spending time with Mr A as he can kick a footy with him and have a conversation with him (or as much as you can with a 2year old). At least with Miss K having more awake time and more smiles she's becoming more appealing. I'm not saying he doesn't love her or anything, but the tendency has been for me to look after Miss K as I feed her etc while Mr A dances rings around us both.

PS Jessie - I'm in Parkerville (for the front message)

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the well wishes!

Mickayla has been at her Nanny and Pops so I could have a little break (slept heaps) - feeling a bit better but still a bit to go to!

Will post more later but two things I wanted to say

IMPORTANT - there has been a recent scare re a bub hub meet where a bubba was nearly snatched (very close call) - meets are awesome BUT the location needs to be pm'd ALWAYS - and if there are newbies coming (just joined at the time) can I suggest that we get all their details before phoning them to let them know where the meet is

Damn shame we live in such a messed up world!

Other thing (more trivial) DH has taken two weeks off :smiliedance:

Unbelievable!!

Anyway I will be flitting in and out but from Tues on will be away for 2 weeks

Will have a lot of reading to do when I get back!

Anyway - will try and post more later

lina was good today, had plenty of coos, by perfect strangers, one woman even asked to hold her, which i declined as i didnt know her from bob! cris was not happy at all bout that.

hi all.... hope we all had good weekends...

just been and visited my friends new little bubba boy.... he's gorgeous... Pip was never that small... lol... made me all clucky... actually been thinking lately bout bubba's.... I always thought I would just have one... can provide better for them, give them more time, etc... but lately I have thought I would love another bubba or two.... although I have resigned myself to the high possibility of her being the one and only... but if I was to ever meet someone worthwhile I would love to build on my little family!

Oh I think I found the source of lil miss's grumpiness.... I think she is cutting her first tooth... ... I had totally discounted it as I thought it was way too early, but after much struggle I finally got a decent look at her bottom gum and there is definitely something white sitting just under the surface of her gum with a little sharp edge poking through.... what tha!!!

Have my 10 yr old sis for the day tomorrow which should be fun... someone to keep Pip entertained for the day and she absolutely loves her Aunty!!

Have a good time with your dh jess... you guys deserve a break!!

evening mummies,

can not believe that some one would use a site for something like that - makes you sick to the stomach.

the controlled comforting only worked that once... oh well. did his first offical sleep thru - 11 until 6! Although i kept waking up every hour from 2 on wards so that kinda sucks. but at least i know he can do it. he has semi rolled over - from his tummy to his side. he seems to really like rollingon his side with his body arched in this really awarkward (sp??) position.

jessie - so many :hugs: your way, don't know what i would do with out your guidance

rach - glad to hear you are getting some rest, i can not imagine how hard it would be with three.

seek - connor just got his jolly jumper as well and he kinda jumps (by mistake i think) but he mostly just walks around in circles at the moment.

kaz - can't believe piper has a tooth comming thru already. maybe that means they will all come thry quickly for you

better go, have to pay the rest of the rego

Good morning, hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Jessie it is so sad what our world has become. There are some sick people out there, which is very scary.

Maria, glad you guys had a great day at movie world.

Well done Connor for sleeping through and rolling:yelclap:

The last 2 nights now Nix has slept from 8.30 pm - 5.00am. The first night he did this, i woke up at 3am and just layed in bed waiting for him to wake up, i think i went back to sleep about 4am then he was up at 5.15am. Then last night i slept until he woke up at 5.00am.

Man it is windy and cool today. I just want to stay inside all day today.

That is about all the news i have, chat later.

Argh...... I feel strange:gloomy: I've had it twice before, since Luci's birth, about every two weeks since she was 9wks. Sort of period crampy, sort of sick, then light headed... and after about three days of feeling like this, I start bleeding again:banghead: (sorry for TMI) I spoke to my dr two weeks ago and she gave me a ref for an u/s. I can't decide whether to worry and have the u/s done, or just let it be?....
DH will probably say go and get it checked out, but... I'm not normally a sick person. (Hence the reason I haven't mentioned it to him this time!)
Any ideas folks?

Jess, Luci just made a liar out of me. She was in her cot before grizzling and talking, I went in and put her on her tummy and she went out like a light!! She fights sleeping atm.

Can't remember what else I wanted to say.... Hi to all of you out there! Sorry no personals today, feel too cruddy.

Talk soon xxx

Well now *clears throat in preparation for big spiel*!

So much to say!

General - teeth - rolling - jolly jumpers, ohh ahh I think we are a fair way behind you folk!!

Seekrit - I think your little lad is WAY stronger than my little lad! I have one of those jolly jumpers, I'm just not sure his neck is ready yet. How are you going with respect to being off work btw? Are you able to take a while off - I hope so - you are such an active mumma with your lad - it is so fun to watch other people who love being mummies!!

My Secret Squirrel - I went for a full time job! 9 pages of selection criteria no less - foul - I got an interview but missed out on the job. HIGA this was at the same time that you were talking about going back to work! - The selection criteria was due the week I was in hospie for penicillin attack and the interview was the same week that M was bitten by the snake - talk about obstacles!

Still - I'm not really sure that I am ready to go back to work yet.

Rachdent - hello gorgeous you - how are things going for you? So much stuff I think of saying to you when I am offline and forget when I am on. How did you end up getting on with your stolen goods? Any luck? Fingers crossed that he will sleep through way more from here-on-in. And if you did sleep through a feed - Good! I remember you saying about when you sort of lay in anticipation of them waking up - such a conundrum - if you go to sleep it can get so deep (lack of sleep) and even harder to wake up to them - and if you don't touch em when they first start to wake they can go back to sleep! - anyway thinking of you often

Mell - might be worth a trip to the chiro - even though they are so little the chiro can (gently) fix alot of things that can develop into worse iykwim - its awful when these things happen - I remember the rocker slipped out of my hands with M and she ended up headbutting the bar - she had an egg on her forehead for about a month :o - my mum accidently bashed my sister's head on the door as she came from a CHN appointment!! oops

Shea - thanks for the compliment - actually I think it is so wonderful that we all have each other (WARNING - gooey moment!) - I feel so attached and it is such a diverse group, we are all so different yet some of us share some weird things in common (yeah that's you fellow geo! ;) ) - how have you been going with your PND? sometimes it takes ALOT of time and rest to get over that

HIGA - LOVE the pictures - except one Jakey Jake is missing! I think he is a bit smaller but hmmm hard to tell! Where exactly are you from? Tell me once and for all - I delight in your 'accent' often as you write! How long have you been in Oz for?

Pegs - I had to look back over the old thread for your details (re front page) and you know what - not a huge number of posts from you in comparison to some of us 'chatty' mob! :shame: Love reading your posts - better not go back to dial up - we would miss you!

Mmascore - hugley looking forward to trekking the Blueys with you! - don't mind my obsession for photos and rocks though - might be a slooow walk!

Kaz - teeth - oh how gorgeous (when they finally come through that is) - it is such a milestone! Some bubbas are actually born with teeth! That seems odd to me though. What else has your little Pip been up to? Is she a bit off with the teething? (don't forget the witcydy grubs ;) ) Any amusing interaction with the ex of late???

Bessie - re the snip - poor lad, it can be really full on for them - can make em really sick - hope he is recovering OK. Good for you guys long term though - will be great for you to be off the pill!

Had more to say - (obviously having missed Kel, Myz, TS, Jas, and the newbies too BUT window closed!) - Hugs and Hellos to all of you

PS - anyone who is in Brissie or 'south of the border' - pls pm me your details today if you can - just in case we make it to your vacinity!!!Love Jess

Sorry you are feeling bad mich, I'd go to the ultrasound. I went to mine, finding that nothing was wrong made me feel much better.

I'd still love to know though, why am I still bleeding after 2 months on the mini pill, it is driving me NUTS! It was at this point after having Miss E that I went off the mini pill in sheer frustration, and low and behold 1 week later I was pregnant. I will see a doc, when i get back from Melbourne.

Jess have a blast on your holiday, dont worry about the job, plenty around for talented souls such as yourself. (can you log core geotech style? I have a great job on sydney harbour up for grabs!)

Arvo gals

WHY WON'T MY BOYS EVER SLEEP AT THE SAME TIME??? I want to get some writing done... Seflish mum moment - sorry

Mich - definately get it checked out. You'll be in my prayers and :fingerscrossed: everythings A-okay.

Jess - enjoy your trip. Wish you were coming west. Also sorry to hear about the job - it's amazing you managed to apply and get an interview with all that was going on. Yeah, we finally got replacement things for those rudely robbed from us.

Nel (I think) - I too spend half my day (probli more) holding Lachlan. Today he screams as soon as I put him down.

But I can't leave him because he's still sick and I just feel so helpless. Ic an't make him better but I can cuddle. Am calling the docs in half an hour to get his results from the mucous swab, so here's hopimng it tells us something concrete. I can feel the movements in his tummy and hear it grumbling loudly all the time - it's awful and he's obviously in so much pain. I've tried massage, but even that didn't work.

Question - are you or are you not supposed to get periods on minipill? I thought you were, but now I'm not so sure. Should probli just read my packet, which is still unopened in my bedside drawer, but it's much more fun asking you lot.

Jessie  Thank you for your kind words, I do LOVE being a mummy! One of the best jobs I've taken I think.
Regards to work.. I go back January next year, Cobes will be 6 months :crying: I'm hoping to go back 4 days, but if they offer me 5 I don't think I can turn it down (that's $100 extra a WEEK and that's how much my car costs.) Sadly.
My boy is strong, even the doctor commented it on it at one of the appointments, he was trying to check his ears and Cobes just wasn't going to have a bar of it.

Shea - Cobey goes in circles on his jolly jumper as well, funny to watch.

Rach - re: minipill, it's just another hormone to your body. I get my period with it, but I know others who don't. depends on how your body takes it.

Cobey's having a MASSSSSSSSIVE growth spurt (go 12 weeks!) so my boobs are really feeling it LOL his last spurts only lasted a day, I"m now on day 2... whew!

Oops! Being told we're going to the shops so I better be off! toodles ladies!

Myz - I just love your little fellas smile - just adorable - and what an awesome pressie! How is your back going? Are you still feeding? Hope all is well for you

Rach - love the pics - especially the one of the beard. Here are some ideas for you by the way that I have found work with the 'pair' - may help, maybe not?? - mopping - works so well as an activity if you make the water warm not too hot and chuck in a chux to let Ham go his hardest with - amuses him heaps (can draw pictures with the wet cloth if dark enough wood) and you can just whip over where he wets! - making a cubby house, works well too - gives him his own secret space, try taking little picnic snacks in there for him or special toys - RE the sleep thing - this IS in your control my friend (most of the time) truly - it just takes practice - the trick is don't let one go to bed until the other is fed and happy then put them both down - the toddler is easier to 'keep up' while you ensure that the baby is well and truly ready for a sleep - let me know how you go over the next week or so - truly truly truly it DOES work!! More stuff I think of here and there - will try to jott down so I can tell you next time. Toddlers eh? So full on!

Mmascore and other mummies to dribblers! - ah yes the joy of teething!

Mich - I hope you are feeling OK - get checked out straight away!

Tiny and (umm was it Rachdent) - re the bleeding thing - yucko you poor things, just one thing I don't get (as in understand) about being a woman - seems very unfair - along with the positioning of the bladder in relation to the womb, I must remember to have a word with God about that when I get to the pearly gates, if I am able to speak through my fear of being caste below!!!!!

Ah I digress..... can you tell I am procrastinating.....should be packing OUR stuff

Lovely pics Nel and MAria - what beautiful kiddies we all do have. Nel, I have that playgym thing - bought it for DS1 but he didn't really like it till he was older and we moved it to the second stage, but DS2 LOVES it.

Jess and TS - I certainly hope you two geotecs know what you're talking about.

For those who asked - the seat Lachlan is in is called a Bumbo. They're quite expensive but I think Kaz managed to pick one up on ebay. My best buddie has one for her daughter and she loves it.

Okay - first apologies to all for the lack of posts... Jessie - I have been named and shamed...:shame: I promise to do much better in future. In the end it was 6weeks without broadband. In the meantime, I got out of the habit of logging on here all the time and when I went to do so again, Mr A decided that whenever the computer is on he has to come on and play with all buttons. I can leave the computer for a moment and return with amazing things on my display. All probably because we have a website we show Mr A which he loves - www.thomasandfriends.com.au he will sit at the computer, chant "train, train, train" and try to get that blasted train up.

Miss K has been a perfect angel, feeding and sleeping well. I don't feel any guilt about posting about my angel, as I've had a feeding / sleeping devil. My main concern is that it's so easy to say - "She's fed and happy, I'd better concentrate on Mr A as he's wreaking havoc". I made a promise to myself and Miss K today that we're going to start more bubba play time. I know that Mr A will come and try to join in, but we'll see how we manage it.

As for work - I went into the uni a couple of weeks ago to pay money to go into the footy finals tipping comp (came equal first for the last game mind you) and the head of school happened to be doing timetables for next year and so I agreed to go back next year on 15hours a week. I don't want to abandon clinical work entirely as I don't want to become one of those academics that is out of touch with what goes on in the 'real' world, but the hours and working conditions are ideal for where we are at the moment. It is absolutely bliss that I haven't had to go back to work at the same stage as last bub - (That was 10weeks and I had a really hard time of it, especially considering the amount he didn't let me sleep).

Just an aside note, if anyone (I know Rachdent was one) had my email for my rehab work - disregard it as although I still do a few hours a month, with the broadband from the company gone, it's not my outlook address now.

I've never been game enough to do the photobucket thing, so if anyone wants any pics, either send me a pm and I'll send emails, or can someone let me know how to do the photobucket thing. I'm just a bit paranoid who can access those ones - can anyone clarify?

Rach - as for the sleeps for Mr A - if you'd asked last week, it was taking me 2hours to get him down:eek: (another reason I wasn't on here during the day). I'm now down to 20mins. Main thing was I'd put Miss K down and she'd be up within the time I was trying to get him down. Everytime he was disturbed, we'd go back to square one. Initially I'd be picking him up, placing him on the bed - whingey as he didn't want to go to bed, he'd jump up want to play, I'd place him down again, he'd jump up ... the cycle continues. I'm guessing he's finally realising I'm more stubborn than him. However, Miss K was sleeping worse last week (only for 30min to 1hour at time). I now also take her into his room when trying to get him to sleep and either cuddle or feed her with my back to him. He whinges behind me (asking for juice or story or whatever), but amazingly for the last 3 days will stay lying down, and drifts off in about 20min.

We've just had my DSS stay with us over the weekend and this gets Mr A very out of whack too. His night sleeps have been pretty bad last couple. Hopefully they'll straighten out soon (until DSD comes to visit on the next weekend - unless she gets a better offer).

I obviously need to get back on here more often so I can get more into personals, but this post is getting too long and I haven't caught up enough with the rest.

So cheerio and I promise to talk more tomorrow (okay so it's not a hard target:D )

sorry guys that is wwaaayyyyyy off topic.

Mr P is great, got over his 12 weeks tantie. Loves his jolly jumper, not quite ready for the activity centre. I'd get a bumbo but $70 for a baby seat????? You must be kidding.

Estella loves pushing Mr P around in the Jolly jumper (like her grandpa used to do to her) she yells out Y'ALLA! and bounces him up and down.

They haven't been sleeping at the same time either, but I've been too not with it to bother manipulating them, might try next week.

Hey galllies

Well I DID IT - kind of. Lachlan fed at 11am and fell asleep in the swing while I was making lunch, so I thought I'd have another day of separate sleeps. But I kept Hamish up a little longer and then fed Lachlan in bed lying down (a little earlyish) and now it's 2.45pm and they're still both sleeping. I stayed in bed, snuggled between them till 2.30 but needed to wake up to get my bub hub fix. Think Lachlan's about to wake up but hey it's a start. Tomorrow I'm gonna try to push Lachlan's 11ish feed back to make it all easier.

Jess - we made a cubby this morning

Pegs - know what you mean about baby needing some activity with mum time. I focus so much on making sure Hamish isn't missing out that sometimes poor little brother is.

Bumbo seats - yeah, expensive but great. In answer to your question Nel, they can use them until they are about 14months. They're good for feeding (when first introducing solids too) and I have a friend who sits hers on the dinner table when the family is eating, so baby can be there too.

Was going to say more but Lachlan's awaking..

Good evening everyone.

Had a nice day at home today while Bodhi was at Kindy. I didn't do much at all but rested and relaxed. Nix pretty much slept all day aswell, just waking up for a feed. 3 nights in a row Nix has slept from about 8.30pm - 5.00am:thumbsup:

Oh my goodness its been one of those days... prob close to our worst by far....

Pip was soooo grumpy today... she has this almost painful scream that she has found.... she cries until she gets her mummy... cries until and while she gets booby... then next minute she's fine.... has a sleep and wakes up screaming... gets a cuddle and she's fine.... she's been all over the shop....

She is happily kicking bout on the floor right now after stuffing herself full of formula... at the moment first thing in the morning and last thing before bed are her only predictable times where she is really content... the rest is a bit come and go...

To top it off I woke up feeling soooo sick at 5.30am this morning.... really faint with odd cramping and pain up my back... managed to get back to bed then woke up ok.... weird...

Will be interested to see what she weighs and measures tomorrow... not sure if she has really put on enough weight or not... but prob just being the over cautious nervous mumma....

Stressing cos I just realised I missed an online component of one of my uni subjects... oops... so just waiting to see whether that gives me an auto fail or not.... kinda hoping it does then I won't worry bout finishing the last too assignments for it... just wait and redo it next yr and save the stress attack... slack I know, and soooo not me... .but oh well.. priorities...

Not looking forward to Pips needles on thurs...

Oh the ex story... well I posted it briefly in the singles thread forum thingy... well he plays rugby for the same club my sister and I belong too... they had there preso night last fri night.... anywhoo my sister and he ended up having words... prob more my sis had a few too many and gave him the what for... funny part is he seems to think it will be ok for him to come along when Pip is 16 or so and play daddy then.... hahahahahahahahahaah.... he couldn't see what was wrong with that... and quoting him he "can do whatever he wants".... my sister gave him a piece of her mind... seeing as we both grew up without our dads we are quite aware of what its like.... let him think that I reckon, jokes on him, she's not going to want anything to do with him by the time she's old enough to form her own opinion... I should know...

Day 3 of the growth spurt.
When will it end?
ALTHOUGH today he went a WHOLE 2.5 hours between feeds, which is normal for him....... it was the last feed of the day.

Kaz - Your ex is a knob. A dead-set knob. I hope his testicles get removed before he can make anymore children to just chuck away like he has Miss Pip.
And I hope things get better between Pip and yourself! Don't worry about your appointment tomorrow.. all will be good.

Cobey's being weighed for the first time in 4 weeks on Thursday.. I'm worried about his gain as well because he was snacking for a few days when he was sick.. but being that he hasn't been weighed in 4 weeks - and had a growth spurt - I'd say it'll be noticeable.

Maria - Cobes sometimes wants me to be in his sight to have him sleep, if he's really having a bad time he wants me to hold him. I've gotten through that by giving him a cuddle toy to hold.. today when we were out shopping it was a blankie.

I found cheap nappies for him too :yelclap: The boy who wets through anything except Huggies won't wet through Mamia Brand (Aldi) but also the Homebrand Woolies ones are the exact same as Mamia and cheaper yet! YAY! Although, I will admit, it feels sooo dero of me to buy homebrand nappies.. LOL I wouldn't buy myself homebrand sanitary products.

Aah dear. Does anyone else have bubbies that love to stand up? When I pull Cobey to sit he throws his legs in the air to help with the rolling, but he's not content to sit, he wants to stand! I've been told he might get bowed-legs but I've asked on bubhub and also a midwife and they've confirmed that that's an old-wives tail - so long as HE'S standing and I'm not making him stand. He just holds onto my fingers and leans... then when he's had enough *THONK* down to the ground.

Anyhow ladies, these 3 days have drained me (in more ways than one!) We're off to the Babe-in-arms movie session tomorrow! YAY!!

Bye!

Hey Kaz - I'm with Seek - your ex is a definite knob - by the time he tries to enter Pip's life, she'll be way off him. I have a 13yo DSD and we talk often. She's at a fairly important crossroad in her life (she's had a fair few of them), we saw her (and her brother) heaps early on in their lives, but now we see them when they want to come. We figure that's the best way to communicate with kids of that age. (Hey, if I when I was 13 if someone told me I had to give up my weekends where I was playing netball and staying over at friends to stay with my other parent, I'd resent that parent). Anyway, my theory is that if we hadn't put the time into establishing a relationship with her when she was younger (I've known her since she was 4), she'd be telling us to get stuffed now, as how on earth would we know what she needs in her life, or what's going on...etc..

As for the teeth - my mother told me the best way to test for teeth was to run a metal teaspoon around bub's gums and see if there was a 'tink' sound. Mr 2 got his first tooth at 14weeks and then kept getting teeth on a fortnightly basis after that (got all his teeth by 18months).

We're hoping that Miss K goes the other way. Poor Mr A - he didn't know what struck him when he got his first teeth - couldn't take nurofen, couldn't even hold a teething ring (he was never a mouth sucker anyway), so my sympathies are with any mum with bub's teeth coming through. If they're anything like Mr A when he got any of his teeth - very grizzly and unsettled. He slept through 5nights straight just before the first tooth came through, then never slept through again till 18months. :fingerscrossed: Miss K has been sleeping through since 3weeks and will just be the total opposite of Mr A.

Seekrit - yes, old wives tale about the bowed legs. (I'm an Occupational Therapist, but don't always advertise the fact that I specialise in Developmental Paediatrics and Upper limb therapy on this site). I'm happy to give info out on development stuff, but don't want it to get out of hand, so I only enter into a couple of the development threads. Thing is that bubs develop at their own rates, so some will stand/walk etc earlier than others. If they are doing things of their own accord, then go for it. The most important thing is to encourage other postures if they're not doing them. (Things like long-legged, or cross-legged sitting when they're sitting rather than W-sitting, as this encourages weight bearing through their hips). The main thing to encourage is proximal before distal stability. In easy terms, stability in their neck, then trunk/back, then hips/shoulders, then knees/elbows...etc.

The whole thing is every posture, movement in moderation - we play aeroplanes and while Mr A loved it and could hold a really nice straight belly plane from about week six, Miss K isn't so happy to fly suspended, but she loves 'standing/sitting' more.

Oops - I'm going on again.

See what you do when you tell me to post more Jessie:p

Hey Mich, you lovely little poppet :hugs: i'm here. i work on Mon and Tues now and as much as i love all of you - and i do dearly - i'm too buggered to get on here at night. i usually have a look to catch up on posts. i'm here and ok, i had cleaning to do this morn :D

anyway, how is everyone's day going? i hope you're all as well as can be :hugs: not much to report. there's way too many posts since i was last on to be able to do personals cause i really don't have a brain anymore  but i remember HIGA asking bout Angel's teethypegs - they'er ok she's a bit grizzly with them like she was last Fri with you guys, but she's ok. still sleeping through, i find the only thing that really helps settle her down is panadol. she's actually not been doing the crying and biting down thing that she was. well today anyway, i don't know if she was doing it the lst 2 days cause she was with other people. i'm hoping it starts to settle down soon. she had her last bottle at 8.30pm last night and woke up at the usual 5.30am, so i think i'll start feeding her her last bottle at 8.30pm now and hopefully be able to get some early nights YAY!!!!!! oh adn she now has taken to trying to eat blankets, teddy's and her spew cloths HAHAHAH!!!!

well, that's all for the time being hopefully chat later. oh we should organise for another live chat thingy soon! lotsa love to all, xxoo

Hi everyone
Bub was coughing a lot last night, so I was the paranoid mum checking on her each time.... funny, you still go through that with each bub, sometimes I still check she's breathing.
Just a quick question for Pegasus, do you think the Jolly jumpers are alright as I worry about being in their too long incase it strains bubs pelvis?
Hope you have a good day Rach, my day off (well, it's not now as I now have a bub) is Thursday. Next week when the kids go back to school DH is taking me for a date in the swan valley with our littlest gooseberry.
Hmm, I'm tired, might have another coffee just so I can whoosh round and do some housework, it looks like a tip here!
Love to you all!

Just a quickie for Bessie (bubba going to sleep in arms - we're lucky they're still pretty small)

Jolly Jumpers - there's a mixed reaction between therapists, but personally I figure so long as they're not in them too long (? about 10 min at a time as a broad guide), then there's no harm. I personally haven't used a jolly jumper with my two. Main thing I think is that the suspension between their legs might get uncomfortable, as they don't have to be weight bearing if they don't want to (that's why I don't think there's any harm).

Babies get into all manner of postures and they get out of them. (This is why I don't believe in chiropractic for babies - they're so flexible and their spines twist etc anyway, so of course they'll forever need adjustment once they've been assessed as being out of alignment - but that's a story for another day).

Instead of jolly jumper, I either bounce bubba on a fitball (stabilising her at the hips, or on her tummy to encourage joint sense into her hips), or hold her (usually when changing her) and allow her to push her legs against the change table (or whatever).

The jolly jumper basically does the same thing - the danger is the mum's who use these as an accessory to just leave bub in while they do other stuff, at those times, bubba can get into all sorts of funny weight bearing through their groin area (due to the suspension) which can be harmful for their ligaments.

Hi all...

I'm officially buggered... soo tired today...

Seek - you crack me up buddy... and Pip sounds exactly like Cobey...she's got a soft bunny she likes to cuddle to sleep... she loves to stand up too.... we got a bulk pack of baby loves at Big W for the same price as the smaller size at Woolies.... ps. bought myself homebrand panty liners on monday... couldn't fathom paying $4 for carefree when I can get the same thing for 81cents...

Kel - Pip has taken to putting anything in her mouth, bunny's ears, blankets, clothes, you name it its in there, that is if her fists aren't....

Thanks all on the ex front.... Jas... it is hard to find a decent bloke round these parts.... they should call it the "tool city" instead of "steel city"...

HIGA - my brain has completely shortwired.... gooooone.... and now I'm able to make up for what I missed at uni I'm not sure my responses will be worthy anyways.... have a feeling the next assignment will be a few days late too.... again.... oops....

Bessie - I'm with you.... bring on that coffee.... I think I need an IV full of it!! LOL

Oh Pip now weighs 5.7kg, is 60cm long with head circ of 41cm.... last time she was weighed was at 5 wks and she was 4.87kg... so she has put on over 800g in 4 weeks... don't know what I was worried about!! Oh and she is just about to outgrow most of her 000's.... but prob is she doesn't quite fit the 00's.... pain in the butt!!!

Cobey's onto his sleep-a-lot part of the growth spurt. THANK GOD FOR THAT. I can count on one hand how many feeds he's had today, the last three days I'd have had to take off my socks to do the rest.

We went to the movies, babe-in-arms session. We came in while the previews had started and the darkness + loudness freaked Cobey out a bit, and he was hungry. But after feeding he loved watching the giant TV, then slept on the seat beside me (I love my sling, it becomes a makeshift blankie when I need it)

Kaz - I'm willing to bet that Cobey's shorter that Pip. He's such a short-stuff. He wouldn't DREAM of nearly being out of 000s yet :p

Maria - I'm guessing Lina's in her growth spurt? Poor you.. I hope yours is shorter than ours!!

Jas - When Cobey cries in public I feel the same thing. I feel like everyone's looking at me, scowling, wondering what I've done to make him cry. We mummies have a lot of mummy-guil, don't we. :hugs:

Anyway, I should make a start on dinner! :D Toodles!

i mentioned about this growth spurt as we are now into day 3 and she said it can last for 7 days at least YIKES!!!!!! i dont know how my bbs are going to handle it. she had another screaming session, whilst i was waiting in the green zone to pick up brianna, and now shes a lil bit croaky ohhhhhhhh.
i rung cris and made him come home early as the girls were fighting also, and i just cant be bothered cooking, so tonite is take out, and whilst im having my bubhub time without babe in arms, he has all 3 :D

Good evening

Wow miss Lina sure is growing. I hope her growth spurt doesn't last for too long.

Kel, gorgeous photos, Angel is such a little cutie.

Kaz, Pip is putting on the weight nicely aswell. I can't wait to see how much Nix is weighing these days, i might have to book him in to the CHN.

I finally remembered to get my vitamins today so i am hoping they will give me a bit more energy and not so tired all the time. Nix is sleeping through but i still am so tired and feel like i can't get everything done every day. I will give it a week and if i still don't feel better, i am going to go to the docs for a check up.

Going to the CHN today... killing time before I leave (I have a knack of being everywhere early... so I'm trying not to do this this time...)
Target also starts a toy sale today so we're going down tonight to choose Christmas presents :D I chose not to fight the crowds this morning, what's the point? Cobey's only going to be 5 months so he'll like the wrapping paper more than the present...

Shea - Good to hear that Connor's sleeping so well! Makes a huge difference, doesn't it? Cobey goes from 9 - 5.... and after he dropped that 3am feed it was WOAH! (now if only he'd drop the 5am......... hehehe)

Maria - Lina's grown heaps!!! I can't wait to see how much Cobey's grown! (although I worry a bit because he's been sick that he lost some weight...)

I think I'm going to make some cookies today! Keep me from going out and spending the invisible money that i don't have.

Oh Kel! Angel is ADORABLE! Those photos are so cute! :)

Hmm, 15 minutes to get there, I have to get Cobey in the car, get me in the car, drive for 5 - 10, park, get us out.... yeah, time to go!

Hi everyone, well today i have topped off the bad mummy thing - ANGEL FELL OFF THE COUCH!!!! - and we have WOODEN FLOORBOARDS!!!! OMG i have never felt so bad about anything in my life. i don't even think she rolled, she has this thing of sitting herself up but whe goes overbalanced and lands face down, so that's how she fell off the couch i think. i was running her bath, never will i leave her there again, and we even have bought her a little barbie couch :shame: she cried for a few minutes, but she's ok now. i don't think she's very hurt, there aren't any marks. Ady's gonna kill me :crying:

anyway, thanks for the lovely compliments on Angel. i have seen all the photos others put on i'm just a slack ***, but in my opinion we have the most beautiful bunch of bubbas ever, and no one can tell us otherwise :D

we have Angel's xmas pressie's - we have bought her a little gold bracelet with 'Angel' and her dob on it, a little outfilt and the shirt says 'i heard you the first time', 2 different educational toy thingoes and one of those leappad frog learning computer things :yelclap: that's all her pessies, i know she'll like the wrapping paper more, but we can spoil her now and she won't know hehehehe!!!!!

shea - i'm so glad Connor is sleeping well for you at the moment i really hope it stays that way for you. big hugs and kisses to you!!!!

well, must dash Angel's having little conversations with the tv, her playmat or anyone who'll listen. i might give her some tummy time seeing as she's in a good mood. she hates it so it only lasts about 2mins max hehehehe!!!!! lots of love to all, xxoo

Kel, glad to see I was worrying for nothing! Silly me forgot you work Mon and Tues!! Angel is exactly that, an Angel, the photos are lovely! Dont feel too bad about Angel falling of the couch, I think Bessie said it happened to her, but I would watch her closely for the rest of the day.
Nikki, I'm always early for everything too! (Although I've been late a few times thanks to Miss L!!)
My what big babes!! Last time I weighed L she was only 5.5kg and 60cm. At 13wks old.....I've been worried coz shes not as big as some of your bubbas, but everyone I speak to says she looks healthy and is growing...so I guess I should relax.
Haven't had the u/s yet the pain/yucky feeling was gone the next day and my dr said to have the u/s when I feel yucky.
Am stressed out today. DH has heaps of job prospects which is making life confusing. Will get into it more when I've got my head around it.
L is awake... will talk soon, sorry for my ramble xxx

Fear not Mich!
Cobey's 5660g and 60cm!! at 12.5 weeks!

He should be more, he's only put on 430g in the last 4 weeks, but that would be due to the fact that he was sick and 'snacking' rather than eating

He also has some baby eczema, so my CHN who previously suggested starting solids at 4 months, is now suggesting to leave it until at least 6 months, and to not introduce anything dairy or wheat until at least 9 months. So it'll be home-made solids for us! :D

Hey Gals

Mmscore - thinking of you and all your hubby job choices. Good luck!

Kel - don't feel too bad. When Hamish was elven months old we went to Melbourne. When we were boarding the plane he was holding my drink bottle, I put him on my seat while I loaded my stuff in the top compartments. Anyway, the drink bottle fell on the floor and trying to grab it, he went after it. He went head first onto the hard plane floor and immediately began to SHRIEK. I've never felt so bad in my life, but mum said screaming was a good sign.

Well, my big news is that BOTH MY BOYS ARE SLEEPING!! I got them both down just after 1.15 at the saem time, so here's hoping they both sleep for a while. Of course I should be sleeping too, but I'm here with you lot instead.

Seekrit - sorry to hear about the ecezma. Hopefully it's only baby ecezma and will go away in time. My DH and Hamish have horrendous ecezma - it's horrid being a mum and seeing your babe covered in red rash, and not being able to do much to help or comfort.

Where Moonblossom and Jayney??

Seek - hope Cobes grows out of his ezcema for you!

Still feeling a bit zombyish... this heat is a bit exhausting....

Have to do a bit of touch up house cleaning and start preparing for my bday bbq on saturday....

Kel - don't feel bad... the other day my nails desperately needed cutting and before I could get to it I somehow managed to draw blood on Pip's chin while burping her... oops....

She is zonked out on the study floor at present... sooo cute...

Xmas pressies - well I finished pip's yday... she is getting a laugh and learn teddy, a couple of dvd's, some of those fisher price roll-a-rounds and the tree house that goes with it, a dr suess book pack, an inflatable pool, some swimmers and an outfit to go with them.... spoilt I know, but I don't think I paid full price for any of them... gotta love specials and sales...

Hope all are well.... must go take the bins out... cheerio

Oh, good luck. I barely survived it! lol

Although odd thing is that after all of that eating, he's not gained much weight, if any, in the past week. A bit worrisome. But considering he's been gaining a LOT every month, maybe he'll gain in length this time? Just worried that he wasn't getting enough hindmilk even though I was sure to block feed.

And thanks for the welcome!

Hey Ladies

I am still around, I always read your posts but not often have time to reply so my apologies for my rudeness.

Is good to hear that everyone seems to be doing good. I am finally getting miss Jen into routine which is good, I manage to get her to have at least one sleep in her cot each day and she is still a great sleeper at night. We celebrated her 3 month birthday yesterday. She loved the happybirthday song. Every time we sing to her she sings along, its so cute, she is such a chatterbox. Not doing much in the physical development though, she is holding her head up but not well enough to be sat up like some of the other bubs in the thread. No rolling yet either, she can go from back to side and tummy to side but not the whole way yet, I know she will do it in her own time.

Anyway, I better go. I will try to post more often.

Have a great night ladies :D

Hiyas,

just got back from Melbourne, oh my.

My nana and auntie loved seeing the kids, but boy did they scream on the plane!

I reckon any young childless woman who witnessed the performance my 2 put on will be taking her contraception very carefully for the next few weeks lol.

Welcome defa and popchex, just :ecomcity: on about any old **** and you'll be fine here.

sorry no caps, multi-bub-tasking again!
Kel, you're not a bad mumma, these things happen... i'm very cautious now and put bub on the sofa with a cushion in the way so she cant roll off. i think ds also dived off the bed... it can happen so quick, especially when you're tired.
Pegasus - thanks for your response re jolly jumpers, it makes a lot of sense. i dont like leaving bub where i can't see her, so she doesn't go into it for long, usually just when i'm putting clothes away as most of the house is open plan.
oops re target, i spent far too much, got xmas pressies for little nieces overseas, as i have got to post them soon to get a discounted rate. i got two sun hats for bub, but no pressies for her, i spent nearly 2 hours in there though, lucky she and my other 2 kiddies hadnt played dh up much. we didnt eat till 8 oclock, i half expected to find them fed but that was too much lol.
i met another bubhubber on sunday, actually i met her b4 but i hadnt mentioned bubhub, hi to becca and chase if you're reading
welcome to popchex and defa!
if anyone else is reading and keeping quiet, please say hello, the more the merrier!
tinystar, its so hard traveling with littl'uns, especially on ya own, so i hope you're not too frazzled. glad to hear your family enjoyed your brood.
speak soon to y'all! xxxxxxxxxxx

I jinxed myself before saying that i had both dd and ds asleep at the same time cause as soon as i posted that babyboy started crying!!
alright i need to get dd to sleep, just putting it off cause i know its going to take ages

 Welcome popchex and defa!!!

Kel - :hugs: to you - it's a scary thing when our bub's have a tumble, but as Bessie said - things happen.

Bessie - thanks for saying I make sense - it's good to think I do sometimes - a lot of the time I think I ramble too much. If ever you meet me in real life you'll realise what I mean. You can delete as you go on a computer, but in real life I can't coverup the fact that I'm a chatterbox.

Jas - gorgeous picture - I love the look on your daughters face as she's looking down protectively.

Big day today - so I should be going to bed rather than on here. My sister and I took our 4 kids (her 1yo DS and 5yo DD) with our brother's 2 DS's (6 & 8) to the pools, subway and a new play centre (in Thornlie). I felt that my eyes were a million places at once (particularly at the pools), but it was so much fun seeing all 6 cousins together (think it was the first time it's happened).

Miss K has been having a couple of grizzly days (grizzly for her, but not a patch on how Mr A was at this age when his teeth were through), and I hope we're coming to the end of it as she doesn't seem to be as satisfied with her eating at the moment - starting to fuss. She's still sleeping right through, so it must mean she's getting enough, it's my son who wakes me up everymorning at 5.30am. Okay - that's my cue to go to bed soon - I know I'll be up in just over 5 hours.

thks to all for the nice thoughts and hugs re: Angel falling off the couch, it's made me feel alot better. i think it was worse for me thatn it was for her, she's not even hurt - no marks or anything!!!

 welcome to popchex and defa - it's great to have some new people on board. we all talk a lot and as i've realised, if you're not on here for a couple of days you have about an hr's of reading ahead of you hahahahaha!!!!!

HIGA - sorry to hear about Lina's growth spurt still going. big :hugs: to you. i don't know what it feels like, but it can't be a nice feeling at all!! thks for the hugs for Angel too.

Seek - sorry to hear about Cobe's eczema. big :hugs: to you both, i hope it clears up soon for you.

Jas - gorgeous piccy's, absolutely beautiful bubby's!!!

Mich - :hugs: to you. thks for the cd, i can't say when exactly it was in the mailbox cause i'm a slack *** and don't check it every day. but i have recieved it, thks alot!!!!

Lil Mumma - it's good to see you hear again, we miss you!!!! and it's great to hear that Jen's doing well!!

howdy all....

Just a quick one as I know you will all appreciate the what tha factor of this..... my ex sent me a text msg wishing me a happy birthday.... this is the man that hasn't yet asked about his daughter let alone seen her, and avoided me like the plague since I was 4 mths pregnant.... my goodness it is bizarre..... personally I think someone is starting to feel guilty for the way he has acted, otherwise why would he bother....

Anyhoo too much to do.... must be off....

Oh welcome defa!!

both boys are lying on Zac's bed watching cartoons atm.. so cute!
cant remember if I posted his latest measurements
13wks old (he's over 14wks now) and weighed 6.8kgs (14lb 15oz), length 63cm and HC 43cm... he's huuuge lol..

Whoah Kaz your ex is mighty strange! Did ya reply.

Hi everyone else and welcome to the newbies - please join in the gossip. Sorry can't remember all of you and don't have time to flick back.

Both boys are sleeping again!! Yaya - think I'm finally in a routine with Lachlan during the day, but nights are still a prob. The little tyke still thinks he needs to feed every three hours, even though he's more like three and a half/four during the day.

A friend of mine told me that her baby had bad reflux/wind like Lachlan and her ped told her to try to stretch the feeds to four hours, so I've been doing that the last few days and things seem to be looking up.

No personal replys relaly as I read all the threads this morning, but have only now had a chance to come on and have forgotten what I was going to say. :banghead:

By the way, I wonder what happened to all the people taht were in the due dates thread with us... rachael? diamonds? lollie? bec?? Hello if you're out there and please talk back.

Oh I remembered a personal...

Lil Mummma - don't stress about Jenna not rolling or anything yet. Hamish didn't roll over till four and a half months, walk at thirteen months and he's a really together little kid now. Everyone does everything in their own good time.

By the way, Lachlan cut his first tooth this morning. Couldn't believe it - Ham's didn't come through till aruond the six month mark.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAZ.........yes very strange getting a text like he is trying to be all nice....like you said he must be starting to feel guilty...and so he should!!
I hope you and pip have a great weekend

Rachdent, you might have to teach me that getting them to sleep at the same time trick, i thought i had it yesterday...was so so close, my trick at the moment is to not make dd have a sleep during the day so by 8 she is exhausted and actually asks to go to bed, then i get the rest of the night alone with dh...even this plan only works sometimes!

I cant believe so many bubs are teething already...dd was at least 6months, but i was lucky hers never really bothered her at all, :fingerscrossed: babyboy is the same

Good evening everyone.

Maria, What a growth spurt, wow, i hope it doesn't last from too much longer.

Hi and welcome to all the newbies.

happybirthday Kaz, I hope you have had a wonderful day. M birthday is on sunday.

Rach, wow a tooth already. Great to hear the boys are sleeping well during the day for you. At least you get to have some time out.

Nel, Kai is a big boy.

I went cloths shopping this morning, as i am in desperate need of some cloths, and i just come home with nothing and all depressed. Everything just looks yuck on me. I have my brothers engagement party in two weeks and god only knows what i am going to wear.

Happy Birthday Kaz! What a weird thing to happen with your ex.
Not much to report, except I drew blood when cutting bubs nails and felt rotten, she was so upset. They're too thick now to bite off and she kept srcatching my bbs when she fed so they had to come off.

I feel :banghead: today, I think its from breastfeeding and feeling run down. I did a stoopid amount of stuff yesterday and went to bed late, maybe its that too. I'm getting weird tummy pains too so I guess I should head up to the doctor next week and get the smear and what not done. Maybe my bub is growing a lot too. Good job they are back to school next week.

happybirthday Kaz! Your Ex may be feeling the guilts.. what a jerk. :/ I wouldn't have the patience, by this stage I would have kicked him in the crackers.

I'm so tired but.. (sorry Maria..) Cobey's officially finished his growth spurt. As of today we're back to 3 hourly feeds :smiliedance:

I think he's nearly ready to drop his 5-6am feed.. but I don't know. You see he sleeps from 8-9pm until 5-6am... when he dropped the 2am it was because I'd put his dummy in his mouth when he woke, so I could do a wee, I'd come back and he'd be asleep... after a few nights of this, he just stopped waking up.
This morning he did this with his 5am feed, instead waking at 6.... (he slept from 8pm)

I have no idea what's going to happen tonight, he fed at 7.30, probably fell asleep around 8.30 (he normally has his last feed after 8pm), I drove for about 2 hours, then when we got home he woke up halfway through me dressing him into PJs so I gave him another feed at 10.30... will I earn a sleep in?? :p

Sorry, I'm babbling stuff about my boy.

I can't believe some of the bubs have toofies already! Cobey doesn't even have bumps yet!

Mell - I sympathise, in fact tonight I went out wearing an outfit that I wore to a wedding when I was 36 weeks preg.

I think i am in for a big night.
When i picked Bodhi up from Kindy this afternoon, he had a green snotty nose. He started coughing about 5pm so about 7.30pm, i gave him some cough medicine just before he went to sleep, Sean woke me about 10.30pm saying that Bodhi has been coughing for the last half an hour. So we gave him some panadol to help him sleep. But he couldn't go back to sleep, so now we are up watching a bit of tv and i am hoping he will fall asleep soon. He has only just gotten over the flu about 3 weeks ago. :banghead: Does it ever end.
We are suppose to be going out for dinner with the family for my birthday tomorrow night, but i don't think that is going to happen.:(

Bessie :hugs: , you sound like you are feeling the way i am. I started taking Elevit again cause i was just feeling so tired and run down all the time. Might be a good idea to go and get checked out at the docs. I am going to give it another week and if i don't start to feel better, i am off to the docs aswell.

Hi all

Kaz - happybirthday (I know it's late), but - what they said!

Florel - welcome

Rachdent (re: teeth) - shows they can all be different and differences aren't just due to gender. Everyone keeps telling my sister and I that the differences between the way our kids are is to do with the boy/girl differences. (My son started teething at 3months and was unsettled, as was/is my sister's son, and my daughter is much more settled, same as my sister's daughter was).

Had a cr@p day today - We had a man doing paving round the pool today so I couldn't have Mr A outside (pool gate and outside gate open). Dogs were upset and then Miss K wouldn't sleep unless she was held. Also fussed whenever she fed. What I am ever so greatful for is that Miss K will always (touch wood) sleep well at night regardless of her day - Mr A would be worse at night if he had an unsettled day (one of those 'gender' differences). Actually it was a good day as hubby sold our car yesterday (the one that I bought to replace my car that was written off when I was 6months) (we bought a new one on lease that we really wanted 2weeks ago), and the guy brought round the cheque today, so my only outing was to the bank, but a trip out with a cheque in 4figures is worth it. As was the discovery of a shop with designer clothes for kids which I knew existed, but didn't know where. Only problem is I have to go back as because Miss K was so unsettled, I couldn't spend the car sale money.

Bessie and Mell - I'm with you on the energy levels. I know when summer really comes (it hasn't been here in Perth - rainy and cold), I'll pick up. However, at the moment, when I wake up I can't help but think, I'd really love to have a day (or maybe even a week) of not getting up at 5.30 and being answerable to noone. I love both my kids, but there's no annual leave in being a mum! I've been thinking of getting some Elevit too. The only supplement I've still been taking is Zinc as I've run out of everything else. I think I need to still make sure my milk is fantastic.

As for clothes - I thought it was great that I didn't get so wide with Miss K as I did with Mr A, however, the weight shifted better from my hips than it has from my stomach. I did impulse buy a dress from Intangible (Perth girls will know it) for my dad's 60th in 4weeks. Mum was with me and she pointed a dress out in the window and I tried it on. I was so stoked that I fitted in a 10 that I bought it. It's a funny thing, considering I still don't fit into many of my normal clothes (still about 4kg to go). I knew I need a dress for this big party my sister and I are doing, but hate shopping. I got excited when I found the kids store today as I get to buy outfits for Mr A and Miss K for the party - Yay!!!

I've forgotten any other personals I was going to do, so night for now and chat tomorrow xx

Hi guys,

for once I have both kidlets in bed, this is getting rarer and rarer.

I'm with all you guys having growth spurts and feeling not quite right. Elevit has started to advertise on TV now and it mentions that it should be taken whilst breastfeeding. I just need to eat better.

I was being very good and eating the right stuff and taking plenty of walks, but the last 2 weeks I have been very busy, stressed and I went away and somehow I put on 2kg:eek: I feel like all my hard work was for nothing. So now I'm back to having 10kg to loose to be pre preg and 20kg to loose to be pre marriage.

Interesting about gender differences Pegs, my girl is the crappy sleeper and my boy is the angel. Although I have discovered something. Mr P just wont fall asleep in your arms, has to be wrapped up in bed. Have I just created another monster for myself?

Mr P played with toys for the first time yesterday, sat him up in the activity centre and gave him some linked rings, he cried every time he dropped them, too cute.

Morning!!
Happy Belated birthday Kaz!!! Hope you had a good day! Am not going to even comment on your ex...

Strange morning for me.... Miss L is asleep, on her back, in her hammock:eek: She hasn't slept on her back nor in her hammock since about 1 month old.... and now she 'likes' it all of a sudden!! Ok??...

Feeling a little clearer about DH and his job prospects....probably and hopefully just going to stay doing what he's doing.....at least you lovelies are portable regardless!!

Kel, Glad you've got the cd, hope the white noise doesn't send you insane!!

Welcome newbies!!

Hope those that aren't feeling well begin to feel better soon:hugs:

Rach, can't believe little Lachlan has a tooth already!! Well done on getting them to sleep at the same time!

HIGA, hope your boobies survive Lina's growth spurt. I think L is having one.... I have felt like I'm feeding all the time, but it could be partly due to the heat and her thirst??..

Pegasus, just wanted to thank you for your info regarding Jolly jumpers. MIL was up yesterday :gloomy:, any how she tried to have a go at me regarding using them, and I was a little more informed thanks to you!

Can't remember any more and this has turned into a long post...

Have a good day gals (and guys) xxx

Hiya guys
I've been doing laundry all morning and the big kids are quiet as I have persuaded them to nap as we're off to a mates tonight.
Just had to tell someone, theres an article written by my old lecturer Vasu Reddy in the bubhub newletter section on smiling and laughter, funny as she is back in the UK. I was pg with DD1 when I took my final exams and her lectures about child development were always cool, plus I was clucky so I paid extra attention. Check it out as it's an interesting article.
Well, now I need some kip myself. I must get myself some elevit sometime.
Take care y'all!

Thanks for the welcomes, everyone.
Trying to catch up a bit from the past two days now...

happybirthday to Kaz! Weirdness about the ex!

Bessie - the first time I cut my bub's nails I did that. I felt like a horrible mum. Nursed him right off and he was fine. My first intro to the wonders of breastfeeding!

Big get well wishes to all of you feeling a bit off. Hope the dreaded sickies stay away!

I'm glad others' are dealing with teeth. I kept telling myself it was too soon, but it appears it's not! lol

Ben is chewing on EVERYTHING he can scoop towards his mouth...and gets very frustrated when he can't get it in there Today I cave him a chilled teether since it was so hot, and he whacked himself in the face with it, then left it there and yelled at me! I couldn't help but bust out laughing so that made him stop and reconsider, then he smiled at me.

Ugh talking about weight - I'm sure I've gained. In fact, I just ate half of a pizza. *burps* I HATE being bored and cranky, I eat more.:p

I'm off to bed early tonight, I think. The heat really threw things off, and Ben was up three times last night (!!) as opposed to his usual once. I'm knackered. Today he was grizzly ALL DAY because of the heat. I can't put him in his cot because it's too hot in his room even now, he woke up sweating. He finally fell asleep in the swing in the loungeroom where it's cooler. He'll be in with us tonight, since our room is getting the breeze, and his isn't. Hopefully that means I'll get a little bit more sleep!:fingerscrossed:

Hey gals

I wrote a long message last night and it seems to have disappeared and I don't have time to write one now.

But please don't mention weight - I feel like I'm a the size of a mansion and increasing to a whole suburb.

Will try get on and be more chatty tonight - as promised DH I'd sleep when kids did today, and I just got them down - but just wanted to ask you wonderful ladies to look in the research section and see if any of you have any stories to offer for my latest magazine article.

Oh and Bessie - I'm with ya - Seekrit and Kel's little phrases made me cackle too.

Heyyy Girls...OMG I may not be here much...but PLEASE add me to the list...sniff sniff...

Ok Alexander...doing absolutely wonderfully...still full time breastfeeding, it just seems so easy this time.

the only thing that seems to annoy him, is driving backwards in his car seat. He gets really upset that he can't see anyone, When someone else can drive i let them so i can sit next to him and he is ok then.

do you guys know when you can turn the seat around...I think its around 9 kilo's...hes 8 and a half...so not long if that is the case.

I havent started him on solids, but has anyone else? I'm sorry I would read all the posts, but there was SOOOO many pages my eyes were getting sore LOL

Ok here's a question for ya...Alexander wakes up every 2 hours for a feed, I must admit he doesn't have long feeds, hes more of a sipper, five minutes at the most each side before hes had enough...Ok now ffor my question, could he be waking up more because we co sleep and he can smell me? Silly question? just curious.

hmmm needles time coming up again in two weeks, SO NOT looking forward to that.

Hugs to you all, welcome to the newbies...you will LOVE it here. Beautiful weather here in adelaide, going to go enjoy it before it gets really hot.

MWAHHHH

 hey moonblossom, great to hear from you.

Not sure about turning the carseat around, I think it's more to do with head control than actual size.

Miss E used to wake up heaps at night cos she loved breastfeeding too much, when I gave her a bottle instead she got the message and stopped waking. You could give a dummy instead if Alexander doesn't take bottles????

Mr P is getting quite a personality, he cries when you dont give him attention, and gurgles up a storm.

We had an awful night last night, E was up from 11pm, to 3am. Then Mr P woke at 3.30. Sent me spare, my whole day has been spent recovering. Then I ran out of milk at the afternoon feed, ho hum.

I'd really like a day off. 24 hours to get some r and r, that would be as good as winning lotto. I'd sleep sleep sleep and read the paper.

hi all....

Firstly thanks for the birthday wishes.... I have now officially made the quarter century!!

Happy Birthday Mell.... gotta love us Librans... charming bunch... lol...

Oh well wasn't yesterday all just too much bother and stress to be worth it.... i really hardly enjoyed myself... it was too hot to think... I spent sooo much time making nice salads and preparing for the bbq... only to have to stress the whole time once it was underway thanks to my 2nd cousin and her feral kids.... i think i've mentioned her before but she is just unbeliavable...

she sat on her ample bottom the whole time while her two brats tore through my house, literally jumped all over my furniture, pulled out all of pips stuff, the littler boy through his and his brothers dinner on the ground, the older one run around neurotically till he threw up everywhere and she sat there and said and did nothing.... didn't pick up her sons mess, didn't check he was ok and clean up the vomit, didn't discipline them.... aaaaarrrhhhh..... i was at the end of my tether by the end of it... I just couldn't believe her... i don't care if you let them run wild in your own house, but come on, I would be ashamed if Pip ever acts like that in someones house she's never been too.... and I certainly wouldn't be sitting on my butt letting her get away with it.... whats worse is she is a childcare worker....

What really gets me going is she is one of those people that always says "you just wait".... umm sorry love but no way.... there is a certain thing as teaching your children manners and to behave.... and not to let a 2.5yr old swear at people and call them all the names under the sun.... she has the filthiest house and did the whole "you just wait" to me while I was pregnant... ummm yep house is still spotless, just proved to her she is a pig and it has nothing to do with having a bub... sorry just had to get that off my chest...

Almost wasn't worth all the bother.... but I'll put it down to a learning experience, and add another thing to the list of what not to do as a parent....

Birthday was a bit of a let down in general... was just like every other day... nothing special... but I guess I should get used to that now...

Anyhooo...

Moon - nice to hear from you... Pip and I co-sleep and she sleeps through, actually sleeps longer if I let her nearer to me and she somehow now manages to wriggle herself over as close as she can get.... sorry not much help I know...

Rach - hope you get some well earned rest!!

I hear ya all on the weight issue... every time I try something on I feel like I look like the goodyear blimp.... not feeling very confident in my skin at all at the moment.... actually I feel a bit sheepish in general of late... don't know why... to be honest I think that msg from the ex has knocked me for a six more than I'd like to admit...

Renee - Pip was grizzly almost all day yday when she went out in the heat... but was back to her good old cheery self late last night when everyone had left.... she is finally back to her old self... left the grumpy pants at the door and sleeping during the day again....

Happy birthday Mell, hope you had a great day!

Hey Kaz, I'll come celebrate a cool bday with ya! Newcastle is only hmm 2 hours drive (used to do it all the time for work).

OK I had an idea, remember we was talking about getting togather at Ularu (cos it's in the middle) I figured Adelaide was a bit cheaper. Who's up for a penthouse in Glenelg for a night in about a years time?

we can have noodles for dinner, and a few wines...........aaarrrggghhhh.
rent a boat (I have a boat license!) chill on the beach. heaven!

I WANNA GO OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kaz, sorry to hear your day wasn't as enjoyable as you'd hoped. It's funny, Luci filled her duds first thing in the morning on my bday... certainly brings a whole new perspective to the day!!

TS, Adelaide sounds perfect!! I would love to meet you all!! And would love to go out! Am hugely looking forward to Tuesday!!

Must fly, mummy duties!

Evening gals

Adelaide would be fab - but as I'm already heading to Sydney :fingerscrossed: in August, don't know if I could make it.

Mell happybirthday - our forum is alive with b'day celebrations this week.

Kaz - will PM you about writing, but just wanted to say I totally agree with you about people who think that your kids will be as badly behaved as theirs. They obviously don't know parenting is a choice and so is how we decide to bring up our littlies. I sometimes hate having other kids in my house as they run rampant and although myboy has loads of fun and plays full-on, he is never destructive.

Well, just wanted to say I'm invovled in a thing called Book In A Week with my writer's organisation this week, so although I may check on from time to time, I'm gonna have to spend most of my free time writing, so I may be quiet this week.

Hope you all have a good one.
RACH!

Happy belated birthday Mell

Good to hear from you again Moonblossom.

Just a comment on the following:

Kaz - will PM you about writing, but just wanted to say I totally agree with you about people who think that your kids will be as badly behaved as theirs. Just wanted to comment on this topic too. It's funny how it's not just when the kids are young bubbas that people will say the "just you wait" lines. The more I see kids and their situations, the more I believe that children are a product of their parents. I've talked more about my stepkids on other threads and I'll keep to a minimum how much I'll speak about them here, but the comparisons are inevitable from some people who know both the other two and my two. All four of the children are as much my husband's children as each other, and same with regards to their grandparents. This is where the similarity ends. I sincerely hope I have a chance of helping my children make smart choices in their lives and not having their bad behaviour explained away with statements like: "Children are like that at that age". I want my children to know where their boundaries are and to feel safe to act within a certain range. If perchance my relationship with their father goes bellyup, I hope to high heaven that I don't get tempted to buy their affection, and forget that I am but their caretaker until they reach adulthood (I am not here just to be their friend).

Okay - that was as philosophical as I'm going to get tonight, I apologise to anyone who read through that and thought "what the heck was she going on about". On more than one occasion, I use this website as a venting tool, and after certain things that have been said in the last couple of days, I've been even more determined to help my children grow up feeling safe and confident in themselves and able to make good decisions regarding their behaviour.

Why is it that if Mr A has a bad day (unsettled, lots of stimulation) that he will, even now, wake at night crying and upset (about 1 this morning and then be up very early in the morning - 5 this morning), and regardless of how her day has been, Miss K will still sleep through till about 6 (touch wood). I think my kids are poles apart in their sleep habits.

TS - a night out and a few wines...Hmmm - yes, I'd be up for that - no convincing needed here!

Adykel - hope your night went well.

I'm thinking I'm in need of some away from kids mummy time - looking at something called - A Day on the Green - Festival at a local winery - has Alex Lloyd, The Whitlams, Diesel (can't remember who else). Mum has offerred to take kidlets for the day, but for some reason I haven't got around to booking the tickets, I think I need to convince myself that they'll be okay with mum for the day (not that I have doubts in mum's ability to look after them, but I have doubts in leaving them for a day, for my sake).

Was talking to DH tonight about us having to take a trip soon (even if only a weekend). Thinking now that I deserve a trip away (by myself?) next year - call it annual leave from mummy duties! Definitely up for a July mummies meet!

Talk again soon, I've rabbitted on enough tonight (and I try to limit my time on here on the weekend so I can spend time with hubby).

happybirthday Mell!
And hi all.

I have not much to report. My boy is still asleep after a 5.45am feed..... I'm wondering what time he'll wake up now....

After a comment someone else said to me on a different forum, I'm wondering if Cobey's eczema is caused by eggs, and not dairy. Eggs are the main cause for baby eczema, apparently, and I've been eating them a whole lot more lately which makes perfect sense.
So now I'm on an obvious egg-free thing to see what happens.. the eczema isn't irriatating Cobes so I'm not too fussed on making sure I do 100% of everything right, it's more for my own investigative purposes for when he's a little older.

On "Wait 'til they grow up.." I started watching the ABC show "Life At 1" yesterday, which follows kids for 7 years (and there's a bubhubber on it!!) looks at their parents, their backgrounds and themselves and you watch them grow up, see what they do to see if that determines the outcome of their child.
I think it's great! Of course, by the time that Cobes is 7, so will these kids but still.. amazing.

I was watching Cobey yesterday, lying on the floor and looking all cute, I said to Chris "Can you imagine that one day he's going to back-chat us?" lol because he's so perfect.... (although he DOES have a temper) I can't believe that he's going to grow up... Although he's not going to be one of "those kids" who runs riots in other people's houses!

Happy Birthday to Natty HIGA.

I get paranoid about Miss E's behaviour around others. Going to childcare has helped her social and behaviour skills. But there was a time where she got a reputation with my friends as being "rough". (she was more mobile than the other babies and could pick up and chuck stuff) Lucky she is a calmer girl now.

I was feeling a bit off this morning and realised I didn't want to come home right after dropping DH off to work, so I went shopping at two different shopping centres. lol

My husband, much as I love him, seriously drags me down on weekends. He's more than happy to be a bump on a log most days and I tend to follow suit (well, as much as I can with a bub). I did some laundry and cleaned up a bit, but really got sh!tty with myself last night when I realised the weekend was over and I hadn't done anything I wanted to do AND the house was a bigger mess than it had been on Friday, which was pretty bad as he had been off the four days prior.

Doesn't help that Saturday was so hot we just sort of laid around being cranky with each other. Today is so gloomy I didn't want to come home and be depressed. I feel a bit better now though. Plan on attacking the house one room per day, and will be done by the weekend, hopefully. I just can't keep up and it's getting to me. :(

Kaz - sucks about your cousin. When I lived with a friend who had a child, his birthday parties were something I didn't look forward to. I don't understand people who just let their children run free. The last straw was when the kids were acting up RIGHT next to one of the mothers and, well there went my hand made and painted planter (made by me, and unreplaceable) on the ground, shattered and dirt and my plant all over. AUGH I was so mad - at the mum!

Pegasus - hope you get your weekend away with DH. I see too much of mine lately - I was glad he was back to work today. lol

Seekrit - good call on the eggs! Hopefully it is eggs, then you can have ice cream. lol

Mell it sounds like you had a great day - I would totally enjoy a day like that. :)

I'd be all over a trip to Adelaide. DH could come with and visit the people I'd rather not see, with Ben, while I hang out with all of the bub-hubbers. lol (We have some friends there, we just moved up from there in May.)

As for the misbehavin' bubs, sometimes I see that the kid is just acting out, and sometimes it's just the lack of thought - like giving two kids (around age 6) huge sodas before taking them shopping - NOT GOOD. We were about to seek out the mum and tell her that her kid(s) needed a good talking to the other day, not just for ramming into me (him) but for mouthing off, when I said excuse me (her). Then we saw her, realised she probably wouldn't care, and THEN saw the kidlets gulping down soda. Not a big surprise as to why they were running full tilt through Woolie's then!

It's taken me almost three hours to get this far...I'm done. heh

Seekrit

So today I make a comment "Pfft, I read that at his age he should be having 2 x 2 hourly naps a day, and 12 hours at night. I'm lucky if he does a single 1 hour nap, it's generally 300000000 x 15 minute naps."

Either Cobey has ESP, he has a higher level of understanding than I thought, or he's reading the same books I'm reading....

He slept from about 12.20 - 2.15..... had some boob... and went to sleep while on it... that was an hour and 15 ago that he fell asleep.... and he's still down.
He does the 12 hours at night pretty well, he goes down somewhere between 8 and 9, wakes at 5 for a feed and is asleep before he's finished, and stays asleep until 8 or 9 :)

happybirthday Natty!
Maria - I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO Tempted to go to your place and have a swim yesterday! LOL Ended up stalking around Mt Ommaney in the air con instead.

hey all....

Feeling much better today.... just got rid of my last uni assignment for the semester :smiliedance:

Pip is being such a good girl, sleeping through the day again for her mummy!!!

Pegs - I too am a big believer that children are definitely a product of their parenting... there is no way those boys would behave like that if she parented differently... take the whole ADHD thing... I am sure that there are plenty of legitimate cases, but I'm a firm believer that there are just as many cases where a kid is diagnosed who is just a spoilt brat whose parents don't exercise enough control and discipline... my mum's dp's son is a prime example... but don't get me started on that subject....

Popchex... yeah I get cranky at my cousin not her boys.... she just sits there and lets them get away with anything... :banghead:

Rach - thanks for the PM...

HIGA - happy bday to Natty... another charming little libran to add to the list!!

Seek - tops about Cobes sleeping.... yay for you!!

I am definitely up for the meet up in Adelaide... bring it on!!

Guess I spoke too soon last night!

Miss K was up at 4 and didn't go down again till 5.30am. Luckily, Mr A didn't get up till 6 (there was half an hour sleep for me there!). I cheekily tried to grab a nap at 8.30am (when Miss K had had another feed and Mr A was dressed, breakfasted and watching Sesame Street). With a couple of interruptions from Mr A (he comes up to the bed to ask me for a drink, or just to tell me he has toes or something cute LOL), I slept till 9.30am (another hour of sleep). Lounging round in my pj's after this, I ate breakfast and then at 9.45am a guy turns up to inspect some paving we had done on the weekend (the contractor ran out of pavers and this guy had to inspect it before approving more to be ordered). I quickly threw some clothes on before surfacing, but I'm sure I smelt like sour milk and looked like I'd drunk a carton last night!

I'd better make sure I touch wood properly next time I make a statement about how good my kids are.

Seekrit - I am so angry with myself - I fully meant to watch Life at One, but completely forgot last week (will make sure I watch this week). I'd been hoping they'd repeat it on ABC 2, but haven't seen anything written up.

Jas - I've been going to organise myself to get Mr A to playgroup (thinking Miss K can just sit with me while he's there), but I haven't got the courage to organise it yet. There's a job for me this week! We went to playgroup when in Darwin - it started as a mothers group when our bubs were about 6weeks between 3 of us who met at antenatal classes. We'd rotate morning tea at each other's houses, but our group got bigger and we ended up moving to the local playgroup headquarters. I'm thinking I'll have to organise something now as because I'm not working, Mr A isn't having social time with others his age. I'm a bit worried about organising us to do this as is it okay with younger one in tow, and what happens when she gets old enough to be crawling and needs a group with her age group - what do I do with Mr A?

HIGA - happybirthday for Natty again - this one is belated (sorry it's what you get for being on the wrong side of the country). Here's hoping your Miss 3 doesn't stay in her feral phase too long. I suspect I was the feral one in my household, whereas my sister was the quiet one. Mum says you can spot it when they're bubs...

That's all I can remember for now - better not be on here too late tonight incase I have a repeat of last night's shenannigans:p

hi all

Pegasus - With us when i called to find out about it, they asked what age my children were, then tried to find us a suitable group for both so our group had all ages in, and you dont have to pay for them until they turn 6 months, but ds was defiently the youngest there, i think we might change groups every term though so they meet lots of kids and maybe just settle when we find the perfect group! I am so so glad i finally did it, i should have done it ages ago, dd couldnt stop talking about it all night!

Maria, its better for us when our babies are older we will still be young and beautiful

No No No! We are all spring chickens I swear! 27 is the new 18. lol.

The playgroup I found has mixed ages, basically it started out as a mothers group but the original mums are all now on to number 3, so the eldest kids are starting school next year and the youngest are now just being born with plenty in between. But I'd easily be the youngest only because my first bub is the same age as other mums second or third.

Estella has insisted on feeding herself weetbix this morning:( messy messy messy.

and just as an aside, why do we now have a flashing BFN smilie? :bfn:

Veritas
17-10-2006, 08:14
Jas - that's great your dd loved playgroup... I'm a bit scared of the whole idea... if you guys felt young then I'd feel like a baby.... think I might wait til my friend with her new bubba is up for it too.... we live in the same area....

Well I woke up and had one of those sort of revelation moments this morning.... you know when something just hits you... like finally you got it....

I had been feeling a bit flat lately... just like I didn't know what I wanted and something was missing.... I do enjoy my business degree, and I am going to follow it through to the end because it will be handy to me later in life, BUT.... I think I have absolutely no inclination to go back to the kind of work I did before bub....

In fact, since I had Pip I couldn't think of doing anything not related to bubs... I love it, and I got to thinking I might wanna be a midwife one day... I've done a semester of nursing before.... loved it but just didn't want to work with old people.... so I'm in the process of sussing out degrees.... they don't currently have direct entry midwife in my area so I'm going to wait til they do.... BUT... in the meantime....

I ordered the first module to start DOULA training.... I thought it was the perfect lead up... also after my birth experience I am a huge believer that a woman knows her body better than ANYONE else.... and if I had had someone with me that was willing to speak up for me I think things would have gone very differently... Mum just didn't want to step on toes.... so I'm feeling great about having made that decision....

I think its definitely a step in the right direction for me....

Well Bodhi didn't go to kindy today as he is still sick. So i haven't had my 'day off' today. He won't be going to Kindy on friday either as he has an ENT appointment. Took him to the docs this afternoon cause he was saying his ears are hurting but they are fine, so he has just got the flu again.

Got Nix weighed today, he is 5.6kg and 59.5 cm long, so he is doing very well. He has got eczema on his head the poor chicken, so i have got some cream to put on it, so hopefully it clears up soon.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I can't believe i am 2 years away form the big 30. I have been feeling really good the last couple of days. I was up the other night from about 12.30am - 3.30am cause i just couldn't sleep, and since then i have been feeling normal again. So i am thinking i was getting to much sleep, either that or the evelit are starting to work.

I think Kel is going to have the next brissie meet. I am looking forward to it. Get to see how much the bubbas have grown and changed.

Better go and get something out for dinner. Back later

Cobey's learnt a giggle lately. Except he ONLY does it in the 2nd breastfeed of the day. He looks at my boob, smiles, giggles, pokes his tongue out and pops back on. I think he's flirting with it :/

He's 3 months old today. Someone asked if I was upset that he's already 3 months, I don't know what they thought of my response "Not really because he was pretty boring 3 months ago" I can't believe that 3 months ago today I was sitting in the car.
INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH I'd pretty much say I ovulated exactly a year ago. I was just going through my old posts in TTC land to find the date.... on the 18th of Oct last year I had ovulation bleeding!! How funky is that! :D

Brissie Girls - I'm happy with any day next week... but I know Maria can only do Thursdays (lest Feral attacks) how does that suit you, Mell? I know that you have Bodhi then...

Kel brings up an interesting point... where ARE our dads???? I'd be really interested in an update from TTT about his little one and how he's going now.

Seek I'd been thinking the same thing re conception. Not that I'm getting nostalgic about Paddy (did get a tad teary at October long weekend as that is when I had implantation bleeding with E and marks the anniversary of me being a mummy 2 years now - my goodness how time flies)

I'm just trying my best to avoid any further implantations!

Did you make those lactation cookies Seekrit and do you think they worked? I'm gonna make some today as my supply is very very low. Mr P had 2 bottles yesterday, and I really want to make it to 6 months breastfeeding.

Not to mention the confusion at our house with having 2 on bottles, and my DH cant tell whose teats are whose. (P has nuk first choice and E has tommee tippee cross cut so you'd think this was not too hard ppffttt)

Good for you doing the doula course Kaz, nothing wrong with a business degree but hey why be ordinary;)

Thanks TS - there's a Germaine Greer quote I love "There's one unpardonable sin in life, and that is to be boring".... I always remember that when I'm thinking of going out on a limb.... well I think I've made the right choice... I can be finished my business degree in 2-3 yrs, and the I contacted the uni up here and they envisage having a direct entry midwifery degree up here within about 3 yrs or so.... which works fantastically.... and there is only two doula's in the whole of the hunter that I can find, which means I made a good business decision too... being a new baby boom and all.... :smiliedance: My first module should be here soon.... sooo exciting....

For some reason my supply has boosted itself almost two fold over the last few days... don't know if its something I've been eating or what.... but I had been feeling a bit "dry" over the past few weeks....

Next time you Sydney girls have a meet let me know and I'll try and make it down there to meet you lovelies....

Nothing much else to say... pretty boring up here!!

another quick post!! dont seem to have much time atm. TS, did the tea help your supply at all??
Kaz, not 100% sure, but has Pip been feeding lots of late? if so she could be going through another growth spurt and has simply adjusted your milk accordingly. i think i remember the aba saying that your milk changes as bub grows....hope you're not too sore with the change.. i often end up engorged for a few days when l does whatever she does:)
ok, must fly *headless chook*

Actually come to think of it yeah she has... should of thought of that earlier... she has been back to 2 hrly during the day... haven't been too uncomfortable so :fingerscrossed: it stays that way... may explain why she has been sleeping more too....

What's all this talk of being old and gray?! I'm 31 and have been going gray since I was 18!! I'm almost salt & pepper now. I blame my mother. Thankfully Feria keeps me a stunning brunette!

We've had two successful events today!

1 - Ben had his second almost drama free bath - he normally showers with me but he's getting too big for me to manage to clean and I'm afraid I'll drop him. So I stuck him into the bathroom sink since it's small and he's been good the two times. Only cries when he gets taken out and is wet and cold. :/

2 - He's wearing his new bamboo cloth nappy. I'm thrilled about that since he normally screams the minute cloth is on his bot. And he looks so cute in it. Big bum and all. :p

Tomorrow I get to meet other BubHubbers - but I don't think anyone else in this group. (??) I'm more excited about that then I should be, but I'm DYING to meet other mums and have a chat. lol

Okay off for food (me) and tummy time (Ben)!

meeting 'hubbers is great. Today veve and I went to the movies and then met up with Maria (hereigoagain) for lunch! :D Oh fun!

I love the big bubble-butt clothies, Popchex... I'm yet to stuff my dreamytimes pocket for Cobes over night, last time I did it was so big on him he resembled Noddy's Roly-Poly policeman friend LOL

Cobey didn't sleep a lot while we were out (well he slept through half the movie, then during lunch... but not since then) he crashed out as soon as I put him in his car seat.. he's still asleep now.

Star - I've now had 2 batches of the lactation cookies, It becomes return of sprinkler-boobies when I have only a couple in a day  They're magic!

Kaz - I forgot to congratulate you for your Doula-ness!! (and future midwifery) my SIL is doing Midwifery at the moment and is really loving it, it's her passion! :)

Evening all

Brissie girls, thursdays is cool, i might be able to get my SIL or cousin to have Bodhi for a few hours, if not, i am sure he will be fine if i bring him. I will just bring a few trucks with me, that will keep him occupied.

These lactation cookies sound great, i will have to give them ago.

Not much to report on my end. Bodhi is still a bit sick, with a runny noise and coughing. Nix is still going really well, sleeping well and eating well. Yesterday he was putting himself to sleep by sucking his thumb and finger, but he is back to me putting him to sleep today:thumbsdown:

Anyway that is about all from me tonight.

OH I forgot to mention, I took Cobes to the chemist today just to make sure he'd put on some weight.

WELL!
he was 5.2 at 2 months, last week he was only 5.6 due to him being sick...

IN A WEEK he's put on 400g!!!! 6.03 was the reading :yelclap: I'd probably take off 130g for the clothes he was wearing but that's still 300g in 6 days! My little fatty-fat-fat. (one of the customers was looking at me funny because I went "YAY!! MY LITTLE FATSO PORKCHOP!" hahaha

Mell - Cobey has a toy that he takes to bed (he likes to rub/grab his eyes and also his dummy, so I give him a toy to stop him from doing that) I just "caught" him with the dummy out, sucking on the satin of the blankie-toy.. I replaced the toy with the dummy but then thought "duh" I should have checked if he'd fall asleep without the dummy. :/
He's strange when he falls asleep. I tend to cuddle him until he's nearly asleep, then put him down, but he wakes up instantly and lies in bed for a while wide-awake.... he's going to be one of those kids still awake after "lights out!"

OOoh here's my recent favourite photo of him... it's precious.
This is him cuddling that blankie-toy :) (I called him Percy because I'm a dork) (http://flickr.com/photos/nikki_m/271998034/)

Also this one. I love this one (getting it printed and framed) (http://flickr.com/photos/nikki_m/271998442/)

I love those photos seek, the black and white one is beautiful.

I made a half batch of the cookies (cos I only had one egg and I left my shopping list at home) but still made heaps, and have eaten about 5 so far. (so has DH)

Today my supply is improving, not sure if the tea helped (any fluid helps so making myself drink some funny tea will be of benefit regardless) and Mr P only had a bottle before bed. (but fed at 1.5-2 hourly intervals during the day).

Estella is so cute with him. I have to watch her carefully as she has no self control. She copies what I do, tickling him under the chin, showing him toys, and screaming with laughter when he smiles at her. But she pulls at his clothes trying to hug him, and tries to give him tummy time.

anyhow will go, nighty night.

Hey gals

Well, after three days diligently writing my butt off and barely bubhubbing at all, I'm back. REad alll your messages and took notes to what I desperately needed to reply to.

Kaz - the doula thing sounds excellent. You can do anything, go for it.

Kel - same to you. If you wanna paint nails and face, grab onto that dream with two hands.

By the way, am jealous of you Sydney people meeting Jess - I wanna too!!!

Did I miss something? What are these supply boosting cookies. I'd love to put that recipe in my book - that's if my agent ever gets round to finding me a publisher. :fingerscrossed:

But speaking of breastfeeding - don't always assume supply is low when you don't feel full. I haven't felt full all day but I know Lachlan is getting lots of milk from me as he still chucks loads up. As I think Seekrit said, breasts adjust and engorgement feelings is generally only a thing of the first few months, then whenever you drop a feed. Many people add bottles or drop breastfeeding cos they think they''re supply is dropping - statistics show it's rarely the case.

Had to tell ya all that Lachlan laughed out loud at Hamish yesterday -0 it was just soooooooooo adorable.

Yet I have to whinge.... after managing to get both my boys to sleep at the same time each arvo for over a week, today Hamish decided he didn't need to sleep at all. Hello - mummy needs too!!! Will be having words about that tomorrow.

Anyway I've babbled enough, hope I haven't resulted in anyone falling asleep. Oh and please, please check my post in the research section.

Hi all

I took Miss K to the pharmacy to see the nurse to see how much she'd grown today. She's now 5.145kg and 59cm, it's funny how the boys do grow more (I checked Mr A's baby book and at this stage he was about 6kg and 63cm).

Seekrit (or TS) - I must have missed a post when my computer was playing funny buggers - what's this about lactation cookies? Miss K still isn't waking overnight (except the other night), so I wake up very full in the morning and we have a lovely picnic. She feeds 2 - 4hourly during the day for 5feeds (one break of 4 hours and the others are about 2hours apart), I figure she needs the shorter breaks so she can get all her milk when she doesn't feed from 6pm till 6am.

I had a real spin out today (ok - yes, I did grow up in the 80's). I'd contacted the people about my local playgroup and a lady got back to me today. When I said I had a 2.5yr old and a 3month old, she said they had a new lady join today with the same ages. I mentioned I'd previously taken Mr A to playgroup when in Darwin and she said that their new lady was from Darwin. I then said "her name wouldn't be Stephanie would it?", and wouldn't you know it - it was (I also guessed her daughter's name). Turns out it's a girl I knew in Darwin, I had remembered she had family from around where we live.

I'm so looking forward to playgroup next week now!!!

Seekrit - love the pictures. Both are really gorgeous and I can't figure out which I like best as they show Cobey in different moods.

I'm going to post another avatar for a day as I still haven't worked out this photobucket thing (I'm also paranoid about putting my photos out in cyberspace), but I'm really proud of my little people and how they were looking last weekend.

Shopping with mum tomorrow (nephew's birthday on weekend, and another the weekend after).

Talk more soon. xx

Oh and Rach - I gave up giving up trying to get Mr A to sleep yesterday (after trying for 2hours, only took 15min on Monday), and boy did we pay for it last night (from midnight till 1am).

It's my favourite time of the day - naptime!!!

hi everyone,
All is well here, Gi didnt sleep much today, he usually sleeps from 12 till 3 so i can do all the cooking and cleaning, and today dd put herself to sleep:eek: (first time ever) but Gi wanted to play and shuffle like a worm all around the bed (so cute)

Pegasus - great news about the playgroup!! and your babies look SO SO cute:yes:

Seekrit - Cobey is so cute, in all the pics you put up he always seems to have such a cheeky grin, and about yelling in the chemist dont worry i always do weird things like that:laughing:

Kaz - I have been thinking about midwifery as well, i think it would be fantastic!

I wrote down that lactation cookie recipe weeks ago and am yet to make them, i really should, but today i made chocolate balls instead:o

Alright goodnight all

Housepoet's Famous Lactation Boosting Oatmeal, Chocolate Chip & Flaxseed cookies ™
Ingredients :

* 1 cup butter or marg
* 1 cup sugar
* 1 cup brown sugar
* 4 tablespoons water
* 2 tablespoons flaxseed meal*
* 2 large eggs
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
* 2 cups flour
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 3 cups oats, thick cut if you can get them
* 1 cup or more chocolate chips
* 2 tablespoons of brewers yeast* (be generous)

Directions:

Preheat oven at 375 degrees F. Mix together 2 tablespoons of flaxseed meal and water, set aside for 3-5 minutes. Cream (beat well) margarine and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, mix well. Stir flaxseed mixture and add with vanilla to the margarine mix. Beat until blended. Sift together dry ingredients, except oats and chips. Add to margarine mixture. Stir in oats then chips. Scoop or drop onto baking sheet, preferably lined with parchment or silpat. The dough is a little crumbly, so it helps to use a scoop.

Bake 8-12 minutes, depending on size of cookies.

Serves: 6 dozen cookies

Preparation time: 15 minutes

*can be found at any local health food store.
*NOTE* IT MUST BE BREWERS YEAST, NO SUBSTITUTIONS.

Pegasus, your kids are just gorgeous. Have fun at playgroup next week, your DS will have a ball.

Nikki, the photos are very cute. Cobey looks like he has changed from the last time i seen him. Nix got a blankie thing when he was born so i have just opened it up and given it to him, :fingerscrossed: he likes it. Bodhi still has a blankie, and when he is tired, it is the tags that he likes the have in his fingers, i will be in big trouble if they fall off.

I can't get over how good i have been feeling for the last week. I feel normal and so happy and bubbly again.:smiliedance: I think i was sleeping way to much.

Better go and get some cleaning done while Nix is still asleep.
