First I need to apologise for the break in between entries. My baby girl turmed one and we've had party preparations, interstate visitors, celebrating and much much more happening. However, 'normality' is back :wave:and so are my play ideas...
This entry is also a recommendation for a simple toy as well. From the time your little loved one is able to manipulate objects this toy is useful. I have a few variations of educational play eggs, however my favourite and most widely used carton is the easiest to find and the cheapest. It's a half dozen carton off educational play eggs from K-Mart for under $10.00!!
Why do I find this one the best?
Each of the six eggs have a jingle sound to them in one half of the egg. This is an added sensory aspect for your child when they are at the stage of simply putting the eggs in and out of the carton. Excellent to assist in fine motor coordination skills.
They also have a different colour inside each egg, great for teaching colours.
Each egg has a number inside it. Fabulous to learn numeral recognition and order.
When each egg is pulled apart it shows a different shape inside. Assisting in puzzle like manipulation and shape knowledge.
Practicality wise, it comes in a plastic, click lock carton. Good for neat and tidy storage.
Economically, it's a very reasonably priced toy for the variety of foci it offers.
And ofcourse, if you're like me and have a budding chef; it's perfect for their pretend egg cracking and scrambled egg making in the play kitchen too!
Hope you have an 'eggs'-cellent time playing!;)
