TTC - will #2 be the same?

Hi
My DD had silent reflux and it took us MONTHS to get it under control with Zantac and thickener.
We had a terrible time - it was sooo hard
If we have another baby - what are the chances of reflux being a problem again?
Is there anything I can do during pregnancy to help minimise it - diet etc?

Hi there,
First of all, congrats on getting through your rough time with a reflux bub! It is a truly stressful experience and sometimes it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. At least now you know that if you do ever have another refluxer, that light does exist and it is all worth it in the end. Some research has shown that if you have a reflux baby there is approximately a 50% chance of the next one also having reflux. I am unaware of anything that you could do during pregnancy to decrease the chance of this.

If you do end up having another baby with reflux there is plenty of support out there to call on, such as RISA Inc. You will also be able to draw on your own experience from your first bub. Don't hesitate to ask any other questions you may have.
