It's my 1 year anniversary with DF and we are trying to save at the moment so have agreed to not buy each other anything but I'd like to make him something, the only thing I can think of though is a mix cd but I need more ideas! Also I'm going to get DD to make him a card or something too!

Ohh that's a really good idea!! I think he would like the last one best haha ;)
what kind of budget are you on? give us a ball-park figure which should help us out
We got a picnic basket and bottle champagne and went to the place where we married. Didn't cost a cent in the end as my mum organised the food for us :)

Oh happy 1st Anniversary.
All the ideas are great!
Hows about baking a really beautiful rich chocolate cake?
Cooking a lovely dinner?
A big bubble bath with candles and champagne for the both of you *wink wink*
Hmmmm let me put my thinking cap on x

I presented one of our wedding photos in a frame with our vows printed on photo paper. The only cost was the frame - about $15 and the photo paper. First wedding anniversary gifts are paper so this also fits.
Enjoy your first of many wedding anniversaries!

This what I did one year and was so special.
I set a picnic on a rug with lots of candles at a park by the river. I had a friend minded it while I went and got my hubby. She snuck off as soon as we arrived. It was a huge supprise and very romantic.

Some really great ideas ladies :)
I'm thinking maybe the picnic/dinner and bubble bath sounds like a good idea and I actually got some nice family photos printed the other week so might frame it up with a poem or something too!

Well because we agreed not to buy anything I don't want to really spend more than like $20 so he doesn't feel bad that he didn't get me anything! I know you can't get much with that but just something small and personal (and preferably home made) would be nice!

We once had a $15 budget for Valentines day. i bought (then) DP a small box and a small teddy bear to go inside it - around $10. Then cut out 100 hearts in pink and red paper and wrote down 100 reasons why I loved him.
He loved it :) Still one of the best presents I have ever given him
maybe a key ring with a pic of the two of you on your wedding day? I think I had one made up for around $9.
I think experiences are a nice gift, as in doing something together where you are both enjoying yourselves like a short trip somewhere with a picnic. sometimes dh and i like to go for a drive to the beach at night, park the car and have fish and chip with the windows down so you can hear the ocean but you can't see it. its noice.

When we were still students...
I bought a big piece of cardboard from the newsagent. Then got some double sided tape and wrote "I <3 U" using his favourite funzise chocolate bars...
Worked a treat.

These ideas are awesome! Love the idea of the little cutout hearts, such a cute idea!!
Can you get photo keyrings from Harvey Norman? I think that's the only place that do photo things around here!
The candy bar idea is a good one too, his favorite candy is these sour strap things at the moment but I'm sure I could make it work haha!!
