Hi,

I am breastfeeding, if i can, and would like to know....:detective:

If for some reason I can not breast feed until my child is 2yo what do I introduce?

I do not want to use cows milk - vegan - but was told its not safe to use rice milk until 2yo or soy milk until 5yo.

I would prefer to stay clear of formula... so my q is what is leftto use?

I have just responded in your other thread so have cut and pasted my answer:

Goats milk is often recommended as a good alternative to cow's milk and formula once children are over one if they are no longer breast fed.

Of course now I realise that the issue is that you are vegan.....that probably doesn't help much! I don't know enough about vegan diets to give advice but I suspect you will need to do some research on what is appropriate for little people's development (I know that lactose is important for brain development for example) if you can't breastfeed for some reason.

Excellent - thanks for that! :hugs:

I will do a search now... see I am a complete idiot when it comes to this kind of stuff - hence why I am terrified that I am going to screw something up! :banghead:

Thank goodness for BH! :smiliedance:
