Hi all
I have a question about a preg test.
I got one last night called Pregnosis Clear, it is suposed to be able to give you a result 7-10 days after conception. AF is due 3/10, and so far I have had none of my usual AF symptoms. Anyway i did the test, and it was Negative. So how reliable are these tests?

The way it goes is that a positive is rarely wrong, but a negative might mean that there is not enough HCG (pregnancy hormone that the HPTs measure) in your urine yet to react on the test.

Don't stress yet - The thing is, these tests often say that they are accurate before AF is due....And they CAN be - but aren't necessarily.

Until you get AF, or 2 lines, don't take a negative as a negative. But I would definately wait until AF is actually late before wasting more tests! HCG doubles in your urine (and blood stream) approximately every 2 days - so if you get a negative the day after AF is due, for example, I'd wait another 2 days until you do another.

The best time is to use them is on or after the first day of your missed period.

Also, just thought I'd add - despite what the tests might say, the best time to test is first thing in the morning, as the urine is most concentrated at that time of the day - thus so is the amount of HCG in the urine.
