Hi,
I am in Hobart. Just wondering if I actually need a paed, or if a family doctor (GP) will do?
Also appreciate any Paed recommendations in Hobart to talk to them about it...
Cheers

I think unless there are issues which a gp cannot handle there is no real need for a paed. That was my understanding. My DS is 16 months and we've never seen a paed.

Agreed.
There is no reason to see a pead unless your GP can't handle the situation.
Our pead discharged us last week cause our GP can now handle everything.

Gp. Our gp referred us to a paed when we needed it for a problem we had. The paed handled the issue and sent us back to our gp.

I agree with the others, unless your GP can't handle the issue or you are looking for a second opinion from some one more specific then you should see a paed. A great one in hobart, that we have been seeing is Dr G e o f f D o n a g u e he is at the medical centre in kingston once a week but also has a practice in Lenah valley, he is fantastic! :) highly reccomend.
all the best and i hope your little one is ok
