View Full Version : Food safety - deli meats etc
Can you please let me know when we can introduce the foods that are a high risk for food borne illnesses (listeria, salmonella etc.) to children? In particular I am thinking of deli meats, soft cheeses, smoked salmon, soft cooked eggs etc.
The general advice is that by the time a child is 12 months of age they should be eating family meals obviously not the same amounts!! Having said that hopefully the family meals are healthy. I do have some concerns about the fat and salt levels of most deli meats. I prefer to cook my own lean meats and chicken and use them instead of buying processed meats.
