View Full Version : How do your kiddies wake you in the morning???
Thought this might make for an interesting and maybe funny thread.
My 3 yr old DD used to wake me up by slapping my face and yelling at me "mummy wake up'.
but..... she has now taken to oh so gently putting her hand on my face and saying mummy wake up and kissing my face. Its very sweet. She kisses my nose, cheeks, forehead - its sooo funny. And then gives me cuddles :D
Arent they little darlings sometimes.
How do you get woken??
the kids jump on the bed and pull the covers off me. and get into the bed with freezing cold feet and put them on me:rolleyes:
Jenna comes in and stands beside the bed saying "Mummy, it's time to wake up mummy" Then she usually goes and gets a book or a toy and climbs in bed for a little read or play.

I'm awake before them and when they do wake up it's always "muuuummmmmmy" or i have to wake them up myself
When DS1 was 2 apparently he was trying to wake me and when he couldn't he rang 000 so moments later i hear a BANG BANG BANG on the door.. and to my complete surprise it was the ambulance , the fire brigade and the police :o they asked if everything was okay, so i said "yeah you woke me up" then they said "glad we did because your son couldn't" Poor Dion must have freaked but to this day i could have sworn he didn't try to wake me as i'm a light sleeper. Luckily we didn't have to pay for the call out either

This morning I had a little sleep in, and my girls were out in the lounge room watching TV. I heard them pitter patter into my room, come near me and then run back to the kitchen, then I heard the kitchen cupboard open. They kept running down to check on me, and then going back to the cupboard. At one stage I heard my eldest whisper "She's still asleep'. The 4th time I opened my eyes, and I could smell chocolate on their breath. So tomorrow, I am either going to get up early with them, or put the chocolate up high.

well my little terror 5 yr old comes in and screams at us every morning demanding we get up and make her breakfast !! I dont think so !!!
DD has been in a bed for 2 weeks now & I don't think she realises she can get out  but she starts off talking to her teddies & singing then after about 20min of that she has had enough & yells "Mummy UP NOW" so I obey my Lord & Master :D

my ds1 if he has slept in bed with me he sits on my belly and then jumps off and starts blowing raspberries on my belly just so i will wake up lol then once i am up he stands at the kitchen door until i open it and he rushes to the pantry lol and this is all done at 5:45am
Its holidays so the big kids usually get up early to watch ABC tv.
I get woken by my baby wah wah wah so feed him and try to sleep! And then if lucky Ican have a shower b4 "mummy, breakfast"
When my girl has school I get up and wake all 3. (one at a time!)
I usually get woken up with a kick in the head. Bug and I co-sleep and she has a tendency to sleep across the bed at the base of the pillows. But with her feet against me so she knows Im still there with her. Occasionally its with a little face about 2cm from mine though breathing really hard at me:laughing:

I tend to move DS's feet to DP's chest though so he wakes up too. I won't suffer alone!

Well peter is currently sleeping in my bed, so he sits on the bed and talks when he's awake so i wake up to that and his HUGE grin, which i love!! :)
But i want to move him back into HIS room soon.... So thats going to be my big challenge in the next month!
by the kids constant bickering, fighting, whinging, pestering to be fed, but school days I am usually the one waking them at 7.30.. why is it, they sleep more on school days, yet any other day they are up with the sun!
my daughter stands right next to me while im still asleep and shell call out mummy.

My DD pulls my eyelids open, or slaps my face or picks my head up by my hair(when I am in a heavy sleep).
The sweetest way she has woken me up was by laying infront of me stroking my face:kiss:
As for waking DH up my little darling lays infront of him and whispers dad, dad, dad,dad untill he wakes, its so adorable.

Well yesterday morning I was out cold, dh had gone to work and dd woke me with a slap in the face with her nappy. I just about jumped out of my skin:laughing: She has never done that to me before, lucky it was a dry nappy but still not happy Jan.
Usually she will jump into bed with us and say wake dad or wake mum and pull the blankets off us.
We occasionally get woken up to someone snoring in our bed. We don't always notice her sneaking into bed with us in the middle of the night.

Most of the time Hayley cries in her cot until someone goes in a gets her up but sometimes she talks to herself.

DS usually just opens his eyes, and starts moving around until I wake up, then gives me lots of big smiles and giggles - unless he's slept through, in which case he will be starving hungry so he rolls towards me and tries to latch on to my arm/cheek/various other non-nipple area's, until I wake up and he gets his bitty :D
DD calls out "Good Morning Mummy" as I walk past the lounge room, where she's planted herself in front of ABC kids  But on school days, it's me waking her up, and she's a bit whingey because she wants to sleep more.

Rachel used to wake up, go in to the living room (which was FURTHER from her room than our bedroom) and call for us to get up from there!
That got old fairly quickly, you can imagine...
These days she comes into our room, and if it's too early I say "Hop in - not wakey time yet" (or possibly "Ugh...grunt...grunt" depending on how asleep I am)
General Wakey Time is signalled by Julia waking up and calling to get rescued from her Cot of Doom

Ronan still just wakes crying (sometimes hysterical) which is awful- for all of us, not just him .. no matter how chirpy or enthusiastic I am he's just so upset on waking. I mean, he's 2 and a half, don't they stop crying when they wake up before this age?
Ariene does a sweet "Ahhhhhh!!! Ehhhhhhhh!!!' it's too cute! And she's happy to look around at her room, all smiles, while I change Ronan's nappy and attempt to calm him down!

:hugs: That does sound really hard. Rachel used to do that after afternoon nap time , she'd be just so sad and cranky for about an hour after waking up.
We solved that problem by giving up afternoon sleep  - bit hard to do that for overnight though!
Brandon wakes me 1st around 5-30amish(he has been sleeping right through the night for the last 3 weeks :o)He just makes a little noise its not even really a cry and i go make him a bottle(Yes had to give up BF due to the wounds/bleeding/agony)then as he is dozing of my 3.5 yr old Caleb usually wakes up and jumps in my bed to watch the cartoons and have his good morning kiss and cuddle with me.Then my 12 yr old Cody and 7 yr old Mitchell get up and mitchell snuggles into my bed too and 12 yr old lies across the end of the bed and we all watch toasted TV together and get up and have brekkie after that.but when schools on I get up after calebs morning cuddle and its toasted TV in the lounge while i organise everyone.

After his early morning feed DS sleeps on my chest for another few hours and lately he has been waking me up in the most beautful way. He doesn't talk yet - mostly just babbles "ba ba ba" - and he has obviously just figured out whispering because for the last few days he has woken me by stroking my face and whispering "ba ba ba". I figure thats baby talk for "Mummy are you awake yet?" !! Its so beautiful and has made me feel such a rush of love for him.

I usually pick up DS at about 5:30-6am he's usually awake and playing quietly with his blankets. He won't usually make much noise just hummimg to himself and making little moaning noises. (that sound very suspect.) He has a cuddle with Daddy for a few minutes then bobbie and back to sleep with me for a few more hours. When he wakes up then it's back to playing with blankets or rolling over and patting my arm.

If DD1 wakes up and it is still dark she will either crawl in with me and warm up her FREEZING feet on me and go back to sleep or turn on the tv in the loungeroom and come and wake me up when she is hungry. If she wakes after the sun comes up she will wake up her sister by climbing into the cot and singing to her (very cute to listen to through the monitor) then once DD2 has had enough playing DD1 comes to inform me that DD2 is awake and wants breakfst now...oh and so does she
She was taught very early that if everything was okay then Mummy doesn't get out of bed before the sun!! DP is at work well before they wake up so I very rarely get a real sleep in :crying: not even on weekends, because I let him sleep in....

Depends on what time it is, and how Claire's feeling.
The last couple of days she's been waking up crying cause she's teething and has a cold :(
Usually she lies in her cot and babbles to herself, until she gets sick of waiting for me (I wake up slowly!) and then she starts babbling louder and louder, throwing ever-increasingly-loud "Ehhh! Ehhhhhh! Ehhhhhhhh!!! EHHHHH!!"s in. Tis very cute!
We hear the sound of her music box that's on the edge of her cot, through the monitor. Then some gentle babbling. Its a lovely way to wake up.
DD comes in with sheet and said "milk daddy" I work nights, so she knows i wont get out of bed.
Daddy has now started to ask for a kiss before getting out of bed...so cute!
