So I have gone from a Size 16 to a size 10... I am finding it fairly easy to maintain atm - But I am wondering... do you think I should hang on to my Size 16, 14 & 12 clothes.... or give them to vinnies?? I don't EVER want to go back there... and I really hope I don't - Ho hum... what to do???

Firstly, congrats for losing the weight!

I say chuck the clothes away.

That's a fantastic loss. I've lost about 16kg and have a pile of size 18 clothes. I'm just going to get rid of them as it's not nice stuff anyway.

If I was really attached to something I would get it altered.

Well done on your weight loss :highfive:

I agree with the above, send em to the more needy and treat yourself to a shopping spree :p

I had to buy a lot of new clothes recently and I got rid of all the old big stuff.. it was liberating and further incentive to stay this way, cause the only clothes I hope to buy in the future are even smaller ;)

My 2 cents- sell them on ebay (the good ones anyway), then spend the money you made on a lovely celebratory outfit to wear out! :celebrate:
Congratulations to the weight loss!

Get rid of them!!! As I am losing weight I'm chucking all my old clothes, I never wanna fit in to them again! I am going to keep a pair of pants for when I loose all the weight of I can take one of those corny pictures

I've recently gone from a 16 to 10/12 so I understand your dilemma. I'm also a hoarder. I went on a cleansing purge of cloths a few weeks ago. My theory being a) I never wanted to put on the weight again b) keeping clothes would make it easier to put on weight and c) if I do gain weight everything will be out of fashion. The hoarder in me kept a few size 12 but otherwise it all went. So much draw space now!!

Congratulations!! Wow, you must feel amazing!!

I think maybe you should keep them for a year to see if you maintain your new weight. Have you lost this much before? Are you being kinda extreme about it?

I'm asking this because I used to be a massive yo-yo dieter and every time I'd get down to my lowest, I'd buy lovely new clothes and then quickly put the weight back on and then some.

I completely understand if you don't want your bigger clothes hanging around (no pun intended) but it's hard to find clothes that look nice when you're a larger size and it would be a shame to get rid of them if you ever do need them.

If you're really serious about this new lifestyle, I think storing you old clothes shouldn't make a difference. And it will feel so much nicer getting rid of them when you've been at your new weight for a long time.

Hey thanks I do feel really good :)

Surprisingly this is actually the first time that I haven't dieted to lose weight. I have just been eating really well and exercising. I think it helps that my husband and I split up as well because there is noone else here tempting me with bad food etc. My kids and I just eat really nice clean, healthy food.

I have kept my size 12 stuff - But Gave the 16 clothes to vinnies and a friend of mine is a 14 so I am giving her them. I still want to lose maybe another 6 kg which means I will have lost about 32kg altogether  I feel like a different person - not depriving myself - I think this no dieting just clicked.... and I still have things that I want when I am out (had cake last night at a bday dinner) but 90% its just good food.

Thanks for your replies ladies :)

get rid of them so that there is no temptation to put old bigger clothes back on when you are having a 'fat' day... that way you will remain the skinny minny you are! Congrats!!! ;)
