Hi there,
Just to introduce myself.
I'm 33 years old on Friday and expecting my second baby at the beginning of June next year . At the moment we live in the Uk but have sold our house and are moving to WA (Bunbury/Margaret River area probably) as soon as our Visas are here.
My little boy Jed is 13 months old and a total joy. I have enjoyed every moment of motherhood so far.
However, the birth was a nightmare. I got to 10cm and all was well, had an epidural (very civilised as he was back to back so incredibly painful) and started pushing. He didn't budge in over 3 hours so they tried a ventouse. That failed so it was an emergency section. I lost a lot of blood and had a uterine rupture. Sadly, this means I have to have another section, but I've heard recovery from a planned section is much quicker?
Anyway, I have private healthcare (yippee) which I've heard is fabulous in Australia? Although the Midwives in the UK are exceptional in the main, they are terribly overworked. After my operation there was only 1 midwife looking after 23 of us overnight - not good.

So, just wanted to hi really. If anyone has any advice or tips they can give me that would be great.

Good luck to all those ttc and pregnant ladies.

hey fran,
i am moving to perth in january, currently in yorkshire! we plan to be there at least a year. i am just writing to say hi, and good luck with the visas...not to mention kid number 2! i had a planned section the 2nd time too, at 33, and it was absolutely fine, the recovery was too. i am sure all will be well. have you a willing relative eg mum or (perish the thought) mum-in-law to fly out at the appropriate time?! my kids are 3.5 and 18 mths and things were pretty tough for a while, but i firmly believe it is the first child that determines how things go - mine was just hitting her terrible twos in a major way when baby bro came along! if jed is easy-going (no-one could accuse my first-born of being mellow! funny and sharp as a tack, but easy-going - a resounding NO!) you may be absolutely fine. anyway the caesarian was the least of it, i found!
hope your move goes well
best wishes - kate
