View Full Version : Toddler & baby swimming lessons
Hi ladies, just wondering if any of you have taken your little ones for swimming lessons around Queanbeyan/Canberra before? I'd like to enroll Ryan this coming summer for toddler swim or something like that! Never done it before so would really appreciate advice on the best spot to go and your experiences of taking your little one.

My DS (2.5yo) has been going to weekly lessons at QBN since he was 6months. He has been in the pool without me since he was 2 but this is probably younger than average due to the fact that he has been going for so long.
The lessons for littlies are mostly singing and water confidence and gradually build up to real swimming.
Lessons are 30 minutes which is plenty for little ones.
There are loads of lessons on most days (during NSW school terms) including weekends. There can be up to 10 kids in the class if the parents are in too and 3-4 if it is just the instructor.
It can be a bit cold in the winter but not unbearable.
I pay by direct debit and it is about $25 a f/n.
I would certainly recommend it.
Thanks sunnymummy - is this at the Queanbeyan pools? Do they do it in a heated pool? Sounds really great I might look into it soon if its all year round & heated pool :)

Yeah Queanbeyan Aquatic Centre. There is an indoor heated pool open all year round and two outdoor pools open Oct - March ish.
I think they'll be taking enrolments for 4th term now.
I gave them a call & enrollments start end of September for 4th term so I'll be doing that when the time comes :)
